Director Atlee won the hearts of millions with his debut film, Raja Rani. Atlee won accolades for the romantic entertainer that deals with marriage and relationships. The director won several awards for the film including the best debut director.

It’s now learnt that Atlee got engaged in the city on Sunday evening to actress Priya, who was last seen playing the role of Anushka’s sister in Surya’s blockbuster hit, Singam.  Priya, a popular television star and film actress known for her role in Singham and Nan Mahan Allah.According to sources it is a love marriage, which has now been arranged by both the families.  

Confirming the news, Atlee says, “Yes, I have found my real rani, Priya. I’ve known her for the last eight years. We got engaged with the wishes and blessings of our close friends and family members.”  Nayana tara and Arya took part in the engagement ceremony and the marriage will take place in November.We congratulate both Atlee and Priya on the occasion.

While issuing censor certificate The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) behaves differently for different films. Sometimes, they allow U or U/A certificates for hot, spicy films and sometimes they argue and puzzle with A even for family subjects. Previously there are several such examples.  

Depika Padukone next film FINDING FANNY has been in the news for its issues with the Censor Board. The Censor Board asked the director to get rid of Deepika Padukone’s dialogue “I’m Virgin” to get a U/A certificate.  Deepika Padukone slams the censor board for removing the dialogue saying its guidelines are inconsistent.Speaking about the decision of censor board in a reality show Deepika feels while judging a film, it’s important to see everything in the context of a particular scene or a film.

After so many discussion the virginity term was retained by censor board. When the film have gone for review committee, CBFC has now allowed makers to retain it.Director Homi confirmed this on a micro-blogging site. “Alas a sense of reason prevails! “I’M A VIRGIN” been allowed back in @FindingFanny. A step twds consistency and rationality from the Censors,” posted Homi.  The film has veteran star cast like Dimple Kapadia, Pankaj Kapur and Naseeruddin Shah in the cast. It is releasing Sep 12.

If the buzz from Filmnagar scuttlebutt machinery is to be believed, the proposed Multistarer film in the combination of Nagarjuna and Junior NTR stand cancelled even with out going on floors. It is said that Nagarjuna had become very demanding after the success of Manam and demanded several changes to the script to add more prominence to his character.

This changes to the script were not to the liking of NTR or the director Vamshi Paidipalli. It is said that Nagarjuna could not be convinced even after several sittings and finally he said ‘Sorry’ to Vamshi. It is not clear that if the project is going to be pursued with any other star hero now. If every thing goes well, the project was to begin in October.

In an interview couple of weeks ago, Nagarjuna was very much excited about this project and he told the press that he is going to do a shocker kind of role in the movie. It is sad that he is now dropped. Nagarjuna has become very choosy after the failure of Bhai. Nagarjuna will very soon begin the shooting of his next film. The actor okayed a script to be directed by a new comer,

Kalyan Krishna. The movie will run in the backdrop of a village and Nagarjuna will be seen in two different roles. Ramya Krishna will be seen as one heroine and the other heroine is yet to be decided. Ramya Krishna will be making a comeback to films after a long time. She paired up with Nagarjuna in several movies during his prime. Nagarjuna himself will be producing this film under his Annapurna Studios banner.

After 14-yr-long hiatus, erstwhile lead heroine Indraja is all set to return to Telugu films. She is playing a pivotal role in upcoming Telugu film Dikkulu Choodaku Ramayya, produced by Sai Korrapati. She will be seen as a mother to hero Naga Shaurya and wife to Ajay in the film. In a rarest of rare comment, Megastar Chiranjeevi took potshots at writers of present days. Generally he never criticizes too much of anything, but his stringent remarks have come out while comparing old and present generation style of film making. Taking a shot at declining success rate, Chiru points out that ‘insecurity’ is the reason.

‘During making of movies like Rowdy Alludu, writers like Satyanand, Jandyala, and their associates would invite me for the script-discussion sessions. Because we never know what input I suggest might help chalking a new scene or a new character’, says Chiru, attributing the super success of his films to team work. ‘Raghavendra Rao is the captain of our ship, but he always takes key in from me or any other actor about improvement of a scene. Similarly we both used to have sessions with Keeravani. I like rock-beat and KRR likes fruits, so fusing those two resulted in ‘Pandu Pandu’ song (Gharana Mogudu) and that paid off’, he added. Chiru rationalized that if team-work is dominated by individual egos then films will taste bitter.

‘These days writers are so insecure that they don’t share story with anyone other than producer. They are worried that someone would confiscate and steal their ideas. That insecurity is the reason for declining success rate wayward to old times, where hit percentage is quite higher’, the matinee idol pointed out. Chiranjeevi, of course made heavy sense with his comments on present day trend. And that insecurity is the reason we are watching chunks of ‘mass’ ‘routine’ ‘illogical’ movies. What say writers?

The laddu of Balapur Ganesh of old city has been auctioned for a record Rs.9.5 lakhs, an increase of Rs.24,000 over last year’s price.

According to Balapur Ganesha utsav committee members four politicians had participated in the auctioning in which Singireddy Jayender Reddy had bagged the prestigious and auspicious laddu. Telagnana minister Mahender Reddy participated in the auctioning program which is held ahead of the nimajjanam event on the last day.

Tradition says that who ever get to keep the laddu worshiped with all rituals for nine days in the hands of Lord Ganesha will beget prosperity, peace of mind and general growth during the year. Last year the laddu was bagged in the auction for Rs.9.26 lakhs by the TDP leader Teegala Krishna Reddy.

Disasters like Dammu, Ramayya Vastavayya and Rabhasa have hurt him like never before. Earlier BVSN Prasad has announced a project in NTR-Sukku combination but that doesn’t went on floors after the director has bitten dust with ‘1 Nenokkadine’. But ‘Rabhasa’ has taught enough lessons for NTR to change his mind.

Signing Sukumar at this point will surely help NTR to establish himself in a new angle. Formulaic masala entertainers are no more needed for him as people attributed larger-than-life image to this gifted hero already. In a shocking incident, popular singer Simone Battle was found hanging from the rod of her wardrobe in her apartment in Los Angeles, USA. Although the reasons for her death are not yet known, 25-year-old Simone was suspected to have committed “suicide”. Expressing shock over Simone’s death, her father claimed that Simone “never” showed signs of any “depression”.

There have been speculations for quite some time ago that hollywood star arnold schwarzenegger would be gracing the audio launch of top director Shankar’s ‘Ai’, as a chief guest. .And now, Arnold, himself, confirmed his arrival to Chennai for the movie’s audio launch.

Darshakaratna dasari narayana rao has once again expressed his anguish on big movies occupying all theaters on the release day of those films lifting small budget flicks from the screens. Dasari attended RGV’s ‘Anukshanam’s auction winners function yesterday and made derogatory remarks on big movies.

Hearing the words of Dasari, the employees of cinema theaters are getting embarrassed. An employee from Dilshukhnagar’s Megha theater says, ” We get maximum profits through the openings of big heroes’ movies. For small budget films there will be no openings and no profits for us.” Vijayawada top theater’s employee threatens, ” If Dasari continues giving such statements, we will revolt against him,” However, a cycle stand’s employee from Kakinada’s Devi multiplex questions, ” Why do you take Dasari’s words seriously? We enjoy his speeches in movie functions. You should also develop the same attitude.”

Perhaps for the first time in Indian Cinema, a father is going to direct his daughter. Actor Arjun is going to direct his own daughter Aishwarya Arjun. The news is confirmed by Arjun himself and the project will be launched next month. Currently Arjun is working on a tri-lingual film (Telugu, Tamil, Kannada) Jai Hind 2 which is a sequel to the star’s 1994 superhit Jai Hind that was also directed by Arjun. Soon after wrapping up present commitment, the star will stark working on his film with his daughter.

However, Arjun says he is considering couple of scripts but hasn’t locked the script yet. Giving a peep into the film, he said that the movie is a youthful romance and majority of the film will be shot in overseas.

Arjun has been staying away from limelight for a while. He was last seen in Mani Ratnam’s Kadali which bombed at Box Office without a trace. He is now pinning all hopes on his daughter.

Among all the songs scored by SS Thaman for his 50th album ‘Aagadu’, what caught your attention?

Seven out of ten are saying that the remix song featuring MaheshBabu’s dialogues from the movie is utter stylish, striking and hair rising. Probably our star heroes might follow suit and come up with similar dialogue-remix songs after getting inspired by this song o Superstar.

Opening with the controversial dialogue ‘Prathivodu.. pululu simhalatho edava comparision’, Thama composed a song titled ‘Aagadu Theme’. With dialogues written by Sreenu Vytla and his team of able writers enthralling audiences already since first teaser of the flick is released, this theme song connected instantly. Earlier during Gramphone/Cassette days, some directors used to includes dialogues of the movie in the audio tape. Bringing back that vintage magic, this dialogue-remix featuring Mahesh’s voice proved that old is gold again.

‘Aagadu’ is slated for September 19th release and the unit are swiftly wrapping up all the post-production work. Mahesh Babu will finish his dubbing part in a day or two.
