Share

Irrigation Minister T harish rao on Friday claimed that the irrigation system developed by Kakatiya and Asaf Jahi rulers was still the best in the country.

Speaking to media persons after participating in a review meeting at the MCHRDI here, harish rao said that Telangana has the highest number of lakes and tanks compared to any State across the country. However, the entire system was deliberately neglected and sabotaged by the Andhra rulers in the last 60 years. By reviving nearly 9,000 lakes every year, the old system would be brought to life in the next five years, he said.

harish rao said that the silt being removed from the lakes could be used as fertiliser and the farmers could save almost 30 per cent in farming. He said that the government has issued necessay directions to all the officials to implement the scheme with total commitment.

At Last, NTR Renews TDP Membership

Share

In a move to impress TDP cadre, Jr NTR has finally renewed his Telugu Desam Party membership after a lot of dilly dallying. The Baadshah star reportedly renewed his party membership “quietly” at his father’s village Nimmakuru of Krishna district instead of renewing it in Hyderabad.

However, the rumour mill is abuzz that NTR renewed the membership only to “protect” his upcoming movie Temper by wooing his traditional fan base – who are sailing with TDP. Even trade buzz had it that most of NTR’s recent films bombed at Box Office only after he had hit rough weather with the party by distancing a large section of his movie-watchers.

Although NTR was star campaigner during 2009 polls, he subsequently distanced himself from the party after it lost elections. The reason in discussion is that he is upset with the “importance” given to Nara Lokesh. Even during 2014 poll campaign, Tarak was kept aside. Adding much to his dismay, Pawan Kalyan has replaced Tarak and scored more brownie points. With this turn of events, NTR unwillingly renewed the party membership in Nimmakur.

Talk: KTR’s Love For Andhra Bank

Share

In what is considered as a “volte-face”, State IT and Panchayat Raj minister KT Rama Rao on Saturday said that the “services” of Andhra Bank will be used for full-extent to the best possibility. KTR along with Education minister Jagadish Reddy opened the new branch of the bank in Nanakram Guda of Gachibowli.

Earlier when the Telangana movement was in full scale with high intensity, many TRS activists and the protagonists of separate T-movement resorted to attacks on several branches of Andhra Bank in the Telangana region causing losses to the bank. What’s startling is that then leaders like KTR and KCR haven’t uttered a single word about such incidents and didn’t come to the rescue of the bank. After storming to power, TRS leaders seem to have a change of mind now. It’s better late than never though.

Telangana TDP ‘Firebrand’ and Kodangal MLA Revanth Reddy yet again took potshots at the CM KCR. Criticizing CM KCR’s Warangal visit, Revanth pointed out, “KCR had earlier promised to develop Warangal as a National Centre. Didn’t he know about the slums in the town then?” Revanth stated that KCR’s present visit is planned keeping upcoming municipal elections in mind. “KCR only visits the places where elections are around the corner. He showered Sops considering the elections in mind. His objective is to garner votes for forthcoming polls in Hyderabad and Warangal.”

“After Warangal, KCR would visit to Khammam as municipal elections will be held in Khammam after Warangal. Why is KCR turning blind eye to the woes of Girijans in Adilabad? Why is he ignoring Palamuru district where people are migrating? Why don’t he consider Nalgonda where Flouride is taking toll on people? Because, Warangal municipal elections are coming, KCR visited the town. I urge the people to not to belive KCR,” Revanth added.
