The marriage of a grand daughter of former chief minister N.T.Rama Rao held in Hyderabad on Friday morning.The wedding of NTR’s granddaughter in Hyderabad, was a grand affair. Mnay bigwigs from film and business fraternity of Andhra Pradesh were in attendance to bless the newlyweds, But one man missed at the event and it is raising quite a few eyebrows!

Adding fuel to the rumor about the rift within the Nandamuri family, actor Jr NTR a skipped the wedding.Some reports suggest Jr. NTR was extended an invite at the last minute (a day before the wedding) which annoyed him. Other reports say he wasn’t invited at all. Details of the ‘invitation’ are unknown.

It should be recalled here that Junior NTR was also not spotted around at Balayya second daughter Tejaswini’s wedding ceremony. Now, him giving a miss to this wedding has a huge debate in the circles of film nagar. Different people have different say about the young tiger’s absence at the royal wedding. Some feel that the actor intentionally skipped the event, while others say that he was busy with works of his next film Rabhasa. For several fans of Junior NTR who were waiting to see him attend the wedding and bless the couple, it was a disappointment.

Actress Samantha had earned the name of a heroine with substance with several performance oriented roles in Telugu. She is undoubtedly the best heroine performance wise in the current generation heroines in Telugu. Needless to say she is also the highest paid actress in Telugu now. In several occasions, she refused fancy offers to don the bikini and glamorous outfits.

But Samantha crossed the line and donned the two piece costume in Suriya’s Sikinder (Anjaan in Tamil) and flaunted her sexy slim body in a song of the film. But what is the reason for the sudden change of stance? It is said that the actress’ desperation to establish hold on Tamil film industry forced her to don the Bikini in the film which released on Friday.

Samantha’s Neethaane En Ponvasantham directed by Gautam Menon bombed at the boxoffice. Even her first Tamil movie, Moscowin Kavery, was a disaster. So the Tamil industry is not so interested in her terming her as jinxed lady. Samantha has only two chances – Anjaan and Kaththi to try and establish her foothold in Tamil. So she decided to take the Bikini route in Anjaan to attract the Tamil Thambis.

But Anjaan has got flop talk in Tamil and is heading towards a failure there shattering the big hopes of Samantha. We will have to see what the lady does in Kaththi which may be her last chance in the neighboring state.

Industry sources claims that director Sampath Nandi, took a big risk, by associating his name with non-starter “Gaalipatam” and it could affect his chances of directing superstar pawan kalyan in Gabbar Singh 2.

Prior to release of Gaali.., the director took full responsibility for the success and failure of the contrived plot and unneccesarily, took a big risk, at the time of directing a 60-crore film. He could have turned producer, once he got established himself as a leading director, but with one average grosser “Yemaiyindi Ee Vela” and hit film “Rachcha” and jumped into new zone.

Because, people close to Pawan, could advise him against Sampath and show the poor response for “Gaalipatam” since big stars are quite sensitive about such issues, because big money involved in their movies. Or will Pawan will just overrule all these and give his green signal to Sampath for “Gabbar”. Will it cost a him a project on not, we’ll know in few weeks.

Ajay Devgn-Kareena Kapoor starrer Singham Returns, released on the eve of Independence Day, is faring well at ticket windows despite getting mixed reviews. Taking on corrupt system, Ajay is back as an upright cop Bajirao Singham whereas Kareena Kapoor Khan revels up the glam quotient. Rohit Shetty’s trademark style action, although overdosed, clicked to an extent.

Going by BO reports, the movie raked in Rs 30 Crore on opening day given that I-Day is a holiday. Trade pundits expect there would be rise in Singham Returns collections over the weekend and upcoming Janmashtami holiday. If so, then it would eat into the collections of Salman Khan’s Kick and Akshay Kumar’s Entertainment which too received mixed reviews.

Geetanjali- Unmindful of mixed response and despite critics panned it as more of a comedy than horror flick, but Kona Venkat’s Geetanjali is doing well all over seemandhra and Nizam. Actress Anjali’s maiden female-oriented film has connected with viewer for his good humour and few tense moments. In the first week, the film has garnered more than 1.75 crores in Nizam and 1.5 cror in Seemandhra and 80 laksh in Ceded and its expected to do better in second week too.

Sikandar- Another new release is dubbed film “Sikandar’ but Sury’a charisma is unable to pull in crowds in both regions and couldn’t garner even minimum openings, despite Surya’s earlier hits. The don story just managed to draw 1 crore plus on first day and sources claims that it will have been a winner, due to predictable plot and turning into risky proposition.

“Gaalipatam”, Despite producer Sampathi nandi pumping in big money to promote his new-age film but audience haven’t really taken it seriously and the bold theme is affected with unconvincing logic and it just managed to draw 50 to 60 laksh in the first week and it could be a losing proposition for producer and buyers.

“Lovrers”, Despite producer Maruthi’s brand name, the film didn’t get big openings, so it will take time to judge its performance at the box offiice and unfortunately for Sumanth Ashwin, after a hit film “Anthakamundu…’, he should be hoping to score a hit, but it hasn’t started well.

Power Star Pawan Kalyan is considered to be an insignia of social responsibility by some of the mega fans. Having watched the short film, ‘I Am That Change’ of Stylish Star allu arjun, everybody started appreciating allu arjun for his social responsibility. The short film offered a wonderful message and reminds us our responsibilities. This short film is not only a sweet shock to the mega fans, but also a big shock to Pawan Kalyan, as per some analysts. If allu arjun continues the same spirit in the future as well, no wonder he would turn out to be the new synonym for the social responsibility.

allu arjun has recently completed his portion of the move ‘Rudhramadevi’. He essayed the role of the warrior ‘Gona Gannareddy’ in the film. Gunasekhar has directed and produced the move on Guna Team Works.

Despite a mixed response for ‘Lovers’, its comedian Sapthagiri who steals the show with his hilarious punchlines and performance and even attract more attention than actor Sumanth Ashwin.

From Run to Aavara, Pandemkodi to Tadakha, he repeated this magic. But none knows what happened to him with Anjaan, as he lost focus on the strengths. In fact there is no pulsating action sequence in this big budget entertainer.

Also there are no adrenaline rushing moments, except that interval block, which happens to be a tried and tested formula in Indian cinemas from years. Being a director known for his terrific screenplays, why did Linguswamy missed the mark?

Independence Day treats to Telugu audiences haven’t lived up to the expectations. When cinema lovers are expecting mind boggling stuff inside theatres, our film makers have given it in a piecemeal. Mainly, big ticket film like Sikander has disappointed on the start of lengthy weekend.

Star hero Surya and director Linguswamy’s combination raised alarming hype for ‘Sikander’. But all that hoopla turned just a simple routine mass movie on silver screen with no perks of enjoyable content. But this movie got split into two interesting aspects, one being the possible 3 crore collections share on opening day. Trade sources revealed that after Rajnikanth, no other Tamil hero’s dubbed flick has crossed this figure till date. In that case we have to call Surya as another Pawan Kalyan, because they can score numbers even with disastrous movies.

Second shocking aspect of the movie is queen-bee Samantha’s sensuous sizzling in a two piece bikini. Provided that she has humongous fan base for her saintly looks, her ravishing appearance to cut into the lines of glamour-doll kind heroines has upset fans. With huge discussions opening up as to why Sam resorted to such dirty show, despite not having a hot bikini body, we need to call this another fiasco.

Superstar Rajinikanth has clarified that his health is in good condition contrary to rumours that he had fallen sick during the shooting of Linga. He has surprised one and all by turning up at Mangalore airport. Rajini apparently spent sometime in the airport in the VIP lounge, spoke to airport authorities and later went on by road.

Rajini said that he is there in Mangalore for the 50-day-long schedule of Linga. Praising Mangalore as beautiful city, Rajini thanked God, prayers of his fans for his health. He said he will continue to act in films till his fans want him to act. He revealed that Linga will be released on the eve of December on his birthday. Needless to say that this is his invaluable birthday gift to his fans.

There is substance and stars like Danush are brining style to it. This is what happening with most super hit Tamil flicks these days. And by constantly doing it, this fragile looking hero became a master of box office collections and a trickster of delivering trendsetters.

After getting critical acclamation for many of his roles, Danush proved his mettle in Bollywood too, thereby exuding huge confidence. Post Kola veri di stunt, his name started ringing like anything. Like his father-in-law Rajnikanth, this thin-yet-six-pack hero also brought new wave mannerisms to his characters. In the recently released Velai Illa Pattadhari (VIP) it is Danush’s show all the way. Neither heroine’s glamour, nor adult comedy are stuffed inside the movie, but simply Danush’s staggering presence has ringed the registers to a tune of 50 Cross nett in 4 weeks. Simple concepts with wonderful execution are turning blockbusters when Danush is tagged along. Should we not call him the emerging Superstar at least now?

With yesterday’s release, Surya’s Anjaan biting the dust, VIP will be now screened for couple of weeks more easily. At a time when stars like Vijay and Ajith are struggling to rake in 50 crores, Danush is literally showing stars to everyone. Probably he is the next crown holder!

But it is time for Shruti Haasan for some retribution as Samantha stunned one and all the other day.

Growing up one more bit, Sam has shocked her fans with two-piece bikini treat in Anjaan. In order to withstand this bikini tide, even Shruti should do something bold to defend her position. Many say that she might slip into swimsuit for either Mahesh-Koratala’s movie or her next with Bellamkonda Srinivas. As Bellamkonda is known for paying a bomb to heroines, maybe she will show her curvaceous side to Tollywood audiences in Seenu’s movie.

Popular soap-opera actors Prabhakar and his heroine in most serials, Sameera Sheikh, are caught without the paint the other day. Both these actors have devoted fans among family audience circles. Probably some would have had heart bursts after looking at his grey hair and her dark circles, but the actors are not worried about it.

Prabhakar is known for playing multiple-roles in many serials, and he generally portrays both father-son roles in same soap opera. On the other hand, Sameera is known as beauty queen, and despite her young age she too played mother roles in many afternoon-dramas. It takes guts to pose for fans sans makeup, but these two proved that they are also just like any common man off the screen.

Many who watched “Sikander” can’t help than drawing comparisons with Rajni”sikander” and ‘badshah’ but Surya is unable to carry the larger-than-life role of a don, ala Rajnikanth in his 90’s blockbuster, convincingly. Director Linguswamy should also take some blame for penning many predictable scenes and even the second half lacks the punch, so it falls short of Rajni’s classic in comaparison.

Of course, Surya being a talented actor, tries to breathe some life into his grey role but its just not enough, to keep audience glued to the seats. No doubt, Samantha glam look is revelation and Surya performance and few good visuals could help the film to sail through, Despite commendable talent, and even after proving himself in strong roles in films like “Ghajini” and “Singham”, but to ape Rajni, looks to be a gamble of sorts.
