Shock: Mukunda, Chinnadana Piracy Shows at Colleges?

Share
It’s a trend to celebrate New Year in hostels, residential intermediate hostels, top engineering and medical coaching centres. Usually, special parties will be organized and invites few orchestra or choir of singers and towards the end of the event, they cut cakes and celebrate inside hostels.
Contrary to it, few coaching centres in and around Hyderabad has given up this trend and called off all the party events. Now, the latest is that on the New Year and festival eve, they showcase just released movie inside hostels for recreation of students. On Dec 31, 2014, few top colleges in Hyderabad have shown Mukunda, Chinnnadana Neekosam and PK shows to their students at their hostels.
It is learnt that movies screened are piracy DVD copies and what’s shocking is that top educational institutions are encouraging the piracy while the movies are still running in theatres. We hear that colleges adopting this technique in order to reduce the outings of students to go out and watch movies in theatres and thus save their time so that students could focus more on their studies.
But this in turn is making a habit for students to watch piracy copies causing severe damage to film industry and its allied industries. It’s high-time educational institutions should reconcile and stop such acts.

Raghuvaran BTech Movie Review

Movie: Raghuvaran BTech
Rating :2.75/5
Cast: Dhanush, Amala Paul and others
Directed by: Velraj
Produced by: Ravi Kishore
Banner: Sravanthi Movies
Music by: Anirudh
Release Date: 2015-01-01
Dhanush starrer VIP was a good hit in Tamil. This film is dubbed in Telugu as Raghuvaran BTech. It has some very good moments in the first half, but slips down in the second hour.
Story :
Raghuvaran (Dhanush) is a talented but unemployed engineer. When he finally gets a chance to prove his worth, few big shots try to bring him down. How Raghuvaran stands against all the odds and achieve his goal forms the story of this film.
Performances:
Dhanush is superb in the role of Raghuvaran. He is equally good in comedy and action scenes. He is the main pillar of this film and has done hundred percent justice to his character.
Amala Paul is natural. Samuthirakani played the role of Dhanush’s father and he is too good in it. Vivek is fine in the supporting role. Saranya is decent as the mother of protagonist.
On the Technical Front:
Director Velraj kept it simple and relied upon the skills of Dhanush. There are few nice moments in the first half which is highly entertaining. Direction could have been better in the second half. Editing is alright.
Cinematography is topnotch. Music scored by Anirudh is good. Songs were better in the Tamil version. Background Music deserves an award. Dialogue writer did well in translating well written Tamil dialogs.
Analysis:
Raghuvaran BTech is a usual story where the protagonist achieves big from being a zero. Director did his best to make it a commercial entertainer with all the necessary elements. First half is entertaining with typical characterization of Dhanush. Second half mainly concentrates upon the hero-villain tug of war.
Screenplay slows down in the second half due to too much focus on the project that Dhanush handles. Director should have concentrated upon the romance track in the second half, which is completely ignored after a point. There are few hero elevation scenes that play to the galleries. This film will certainly earn few fans for Dhanush in Telugu.
Raghuvaran BTech can be watched once for Dhanush’s superb performance and entertaining first half. But you will be left bit disappointed with the second half. Dhanush’s popularity played huge role in the success of VIP. However Raghuvaran may not be benefited as Dhanush doesn’t have bankable market in Telugu.
Verdict: Typical Dhanush brand of commercial entertainment.

Legendary actors NT Rama Rao and Akkineni Nageswara Rao always took on each other during their prime. The competition between them was always like Tug of War. While NTR was strong in mythological and devotional films, ANR was more in to social films.
Despite the tough competition they always kept ego away from them and was always Friendly. In the picture, ANR was seen lighting NTR’s Cigarette revealing the closeness of the two actors. However their scions Nagarjuna and Balakrishna seem to be at loggerheads off late and are avoiding each other.
Balayya was not seen at ANR’s funeral and Nagarjuna did not even invite him for the recent ANR National Awards Presentation Ceremony for which the entire industry attended.

Two films away, Ravi Teja has completed a double hat-trick of flops. It was a time when every one started writing off the actor and almost predicted his end in the film industry. But the Mass Maharaja came back very strong with two back to back super hits in the form of Balupu and Power. And his next, Kick-2 is also a promising venture.
However Ravi Teja seem to be taking the success to his head. The actor is reportedly troubling the producer of his next, Bengal Tiger. Bengal Tiger is directed by Sampath Nandi. This is the story scripted for Pawan Kalyan but it arrived to Ravi Teja after Powerstar turned it down. Boman Irani is said to be playing an important role in the movie. The film stars Tamannaah and Raashi Khanna besides the Mass Maharaja and it’s said to be a complete action entertainer with Ravi Teja kind of entertainment.

Top Heroines Who Might Marry in 2015

Share
Bidding adieu to 2014, 2015 has been arrived. It indicates that old is naturally replaced by new. And this is no different for Telugu Film Industry. Hence, it’s right time to take a look at the list of most eligible spinsters in Tollywood who might tie the knot in the New Year making way for Newcomers.
1. Anushka Shetty (33) Already Anushka’s aged-looks at several public events are raising false alarm over Yoga beauty’s beauty. 2013 ended Anushka on a bad note as her movie Varna tanked without a trace and disappointing critics. 2014 too is no different as her Lingaa received mixed reviews and her role didn’t get expected recognition. As of now, she has only two big releases Baahubali and Rudhramadevi in 2015. The 33-yr-old Kannadiga should think about marriage plans.
2. Shriya Saran (32) Shriya Saran might had seen peaks of her stardom by solely pairing up with the likes of Rajinikanth (Shivaji), Chiranjeevi (Tagore), Balakrishna (Chennakesava Reddy), Nagarjuna (Nenunnananu, Manam), Venkatesh (Subash Chandrabose, Gopala Gopala), Pawan Kalyan (Balu), Mahesh Babu (Arjun), Jr NTR (Na Alludu) and the list is so big. That phase is passe.
Now Shriya has very few offers that too not so significant. Although she played substantial role in Manam and it garnered critical acclaim, it didn’t overturn her fortune. She is now pinning all her hopes on Gopala Gopala where she will be seen as Venky’s wife. We hear that the movie mainly revolves around Pawan and Venky so Shriya’s presence would not be felt much. It’s right time for Shriya to walk down the aisle.
3. Trisha (32) Trisha has been in the show business over 12 years and she proved her mettle. In fact bot Trisha and Shriya made their debuts one and the same with Nee Manasu Naku Telusu. Now Trisha has handful of offers in her hand including Balayya’s next Lion. Recently, rumours were rife that the actress got hitched and planning to get married. However, she later denied them. If reports are to be believed she would be tying the knot in 2015.
4. Nayantara (30) Nayantara’s personal life dominated professional career. After love affair with co-star Simbhu and subsequently break-up, she admitted her relationship with choreographer-director Prabhu Deva. In fact, both planned to get married and she even announced that she would quit films post marriage. However, destiny has different plans for Nayan. Relationship with Prabhu hit rough weather compelling her to return to acting. 2015 would be apt for Nayan to enter wedlock.
5. Kajal Aggarwal (29) With her younger sister Nisha Aggarwal too tying the knot, all eyes are on Kajal. Since Kajal too didn’t have big offers in her hand like before, probably she would make arrangements for her marriage this year. Her last Telugu film was Govindud Andarivadele which had an average run at Box Office but her role went unrecognized. Even the likes of Ileana, Charmi, Samantha might be joining the list of heroines who would be tying the knot in 2015. Let’s wait and see.

Like Guru, Like Sishya

Share
Ace director Puri Jagannadh seems to be strictly following his Guru director Ram Gopal Varma. Months after RGV giving open call to make short films on the line of Ice Cream model, director Puri now offered first-time directors to make film based on his stories within span of 10 minutes.
Like Varma, Puri too expressed that young filmmakers have loads of talent but they’re not able to reach out to film industry. In fact, Varma is a step ahead and even called for setting up of New Telugu Film Industry and stated that Film Industry could be set up in Karimnagar as well.
Now more or less, Puri too echoing the same voice. It’s once again proved that like Guru, like Sishya. At least, Puri should not face the phase RGV is going through. It seems these top writers have now entered into “writer’s block”.

Will Renu Desai’s Dream Come True in 2015?

Share
Although Renu Desai’s directorial debut Ishq Wala Love made it to the theatres in the original Marathi, her dream to release the Telugu version remain unsolved and the film hasn’t seen the light of the day yet so far. It can also be noted that Renu Desai tried her best to garner buzz around the film in Telugu by giving many candid interviews and revealing her bonding with Pawan on public platforms and giving a detailed birthday interview on YouTube.
All these seem to have gone down the drain as the movie failed to hit the screens in 2014. In fact, the movie also marks the acting debut of Pawan’s own son Akira Nandan. This one aspect is enough to create huge buzz as Pawan’s fans go berserk even if Akira has cameo. But constant delays in the film’s release is slowly taking away the interest on the film.
Though Renu time and again throwing Pawan’s name as trump card, it seems distributors too not keen on the film as the original film got mixed reviews. Adding to this, Renu’s delay losing interest on the project. Billed to be a romantic drama, the film is about trouble in romantic relation of young couple. Let’s see whether Renu’s film make it to theatres in the New Year or not.
