You might end up becoming an actor, a DJ or a VJ by hook or crook but it takes real talent and skills to achieve a celebrity status in that and a sizeable fan base. Not all have that aptitude. Right now, the focus is on one girl who began her career with the radio and is now entering the electronic media circuit. She is none other than Prateeka better known as RJ Prateeka from Red FM channel.

She carved a niche for herself through her distinct Telangana accent and her grip over Telugu, Hindi and English languages. Now, Prateeka has joined V6 News channel and she is hosting a show called Prateeka Show. 

Her job is to interview celebrities and she has getting a lot of following in this as well. Prateeka is quite popular in radio now that following has led her to build a strong base for her program as well. The main asset in Prateeka is her ability to deliver loads of fun with spontaneity and wit in her lines. This radio girl is sure rocking the TV circuit in a big way.

Why is this young hero going with experimental flicks but suddenly changed path to star in a commercial move? “I’m not against commercial movies, but routine run of the mill films are not cup of my tea”, he strikes back. Talking about all those commercial points in his flick, Rohit makes it sure that all the ideas included in Rowdy Fellow completely belong to director Krishna Chaitanya. What is he offering in the coming days? “Pandagalavachadu is a Godavari backdrop film, while Asura is another different genre”, he says, “God has been kind to me; Okkadine is the only bad film I’ve done, but otherwise all are interesting scripts”. 

“Till Friday morning a hero will be visible to sell the movie, but afterwards it is the content of the film that speaks”, Rohit avers, pointing out that he banks only of quality scripts. “I’ve read more than 250 scripts since 2009, and I’ve kept all good scripts with me”

What happened to that supposed multi-starrer with Nandamuri Balakrishna? “We’ve pitched him a script already but waiting for his nod to go ahead. As he is busy with 99th and 100th movies, maybe it will take time”, Rohith says. If not films, he would have ventured into a pharmaceutical company. “There is no time for affairs as I’m busy with movies”, he quips, when pushed to speak about any affairs. “I’ve limited friends, and hangout with them, but don’t like partying. Neither there are close friends from industry, nor any foes”

If any of you are feeling that the economics of Tollywood is seeing a downslide owing to the number of flops that are happening, then here is something to cheer about. Very soon, an invasion is going to take place on the industry and this is going to be done by a good number of people from Coastal Andhra. 

Apparently, the real estate boom is on a high in coastal Andhra and those who are selling lands are getting loaded with cash bags. The interesting part is, those who are selling their lands have a lot of bug for cinema and they want to make movies. It is heard that usually four out of ten people there have that itch for cinema. 

Among the four, two are already fixed on producing and the other two take some time before they commit. Feelers are coming that they are keen to come here and dump their cash. So, in another six months, the industry will flourish in a big way, as per the seniors of filmnagar circles. If that happens then it would be a very good sign for the aspiring filmmakers who are on constant hunt for producers.

The latest gossip doing rounds in Tollywood circles is that power star Pawan Kalyan is trying his best to push back the release of Gopala Gopala. The makers had earlier announced that the film will be released during Sankranthi holiday season. It is known that Naga Babu’s son Varun Teja’s film is lined up for release during Sankranthi.

Immediately after Mukunda’s team announced their release date, Gopala Gopala team too announced that their film will release during Sankranthi. Naturally there was speculation about both the films being released at the same time. So, to avoid any clash at the box office, Pawan Kalyan requested his producers to postpone the release of his film a little.

It is said that Pawan has been suggesting that first week of February would be ideal for Gopala Gopala’s release. All industry knows that Pawan particularly likes and respects Naga Babu. That has given rise to all kinds of rumours about the release dates.

Shruti Haasan is gathering quite a few air miles going from one city to another for shoots. She has just completed a long schedule for her film Yaara in Bhopal. The film directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia stars Irfan Khan and Vidyut Jamwal in the lead. 

It is the official remake of 2011 French film Les Lyonnais. For the uninitiated, this the film in which Shruti plays a mommy and even gets to sport grey hair. Well, Shruti has always been a bold girl and this comes as no surprise. But we are totally sure that she wouldn’t do the same for a Telugu film as she gets to play some ultra-glam roles here.

She surely knows her priorities and is clear about what she wants to do where. From there, Shruti flew into Pune to shoot alongside Mahesh Babu for their forthcoming film. Popular actor Chalapathi Rao expressed his anger on Ak 47 attack on Nityananda Reddy, Vice Chairman of Aurobindo Pharma in broad daylight yesterday at KBR park, Hyderabad. He questioned whether security will be increased only after attacks happens and firing occurs. 

He questioned that many VVIPs walk in and around KBR park and he used to wak for more than 15 years. He said former CM Kiran Kumar Reddy, MLAs, MLCs walk everyday but lamented that there was no adequate security in the area. 

He said since no untoward incidents happened, Govt didnot bother and now with the attack, sleeping administration and Govt woke up and increased security in the region. He said security should be increased in the high profile VIP zone and should be continued permanently.

Noted film director Ram Gopal Varma appears to be striving real hard to get into the good books of T CM KCR. Else, would he make such unnecessary comments and create yet another controversy? Recently, he tweeted asking if it was right for Telangana people to pray for Lord Venkateswara in Tirupati when they had Narasimha Swamy in Yadagirigutta. Though Ram Gopal Varma is a self-confessed atheist, he said that Telangana people praying to Lord Venkateswara meant insulting Narasimha Swamy in Yadagirigutta. 

Bhakti is universal and people of all faiths go to temples in places such as Sabarimala, Amritsar and Vaishno Devi. Does that mean that people are insulting the gods of their native state? In fact, Ram Gopal Varma says that like one loves one’s country, one must love the gods of their state and not clamour after gods of other states. Well, recently KCR announced that he would develop Yadagirigutta on the lines of Vatican City. 

Varma says he is very happy that KCR has taken up the task of developing Yadagirigutta and expressed hope that the people of Telangana will realize the importance of their own gods. Well, there is nothing wrong in Varma trying to impress KCR. But is it right on his part to instigate people and perpetuate separatist thoughts in their minds? It is time that Varma did some introspection before making such controversial statements.

We know that Arpita Khan who just married the love of her life Aayush Sharma, is on cloud nine. After marrying like a princess at the Taj Falaknuma in Hyderabad, Arpita was blessed by the who’s who of B-town including Aamir Khan and Katrina Kaif. However, what Arpita feels most thankful for, is the care and love bestowed by her brothers Salman, Arbaaz and Sohail, on her. The young bride wrote down a little speech for her family and wanted to go up on stage and read it out to them. 

But she got so emotional that she started to choke. She went up to Priyanka Chopra and requested her to read it on her behalf. Priyanka Chopra then came up on stage and told the guests, Arpita is afraid she might ‘break down, so I am going to read out what she has to say…’. “I am the luckiest girl to be brought up in a fami ly like mine,“ Arpita wrote in her speech, adding that her brothers are her pillars of strength. “Sohail bhai and I shared the same room until he got married he’s like a friend to me. 

Arbaaz bhai is like my guide, he always told me what’s good and what’s bad. Salman bhai though, has the biggest heart. For him, I can do no wrong. Everything I did, he was there to support me.” Arpita in her letter, also thanked her parents Salim Khan, Salma Khan and Helen. The Khans, needless to say were touched by these kind words of the new bride. The speech served as an anniversary gift to Arpita’s parents Salim and Salma, who are celebrating their 50th anniversary today.
