Concentrate On Manholes Rather Than Skyscrapers
Telangana CM KCR announced his grand plans of coming with beautiful skyscrapers round Hussiansagar to spellbound everyone. However opposition parties slammed KCR’s skyscraper dreams saying people need basic amenities rather than skyscrapers.
Blasting Chief Minister KCR for his mega dreams of Malaysian Petronas Towers and other skyscrapers, BJP floor leader K.Lakshman punched holes on his mega skyscrapers. Reminding Government on how a pregnant woman was swept in a manhole, opposition reminded that courts banned constructions around the lake.
KP.Vivekanand of TDP, Congress leaders DK.Aruna, Padmavathi, Vamsi Chand Reddy too asked TRS to focus on providing basic facilities to the people of the state.
What Is First Impression On Sai Dharam Tej?
Finally the much awaited ‘Pilla Nuvvuleni Jeevitham’ that marks the debut of another Mega hero is here. Mega Menalludu Sai Dharam Tej has sparked on silver screen for the first time. Let us see the kind of response this youngster amassed with his first releasing flick.
Scoring well with his dances, Sai Dharam Tej showcased the ease he can bend his muscles with to take up complex steps on the floor. Also his capabilities to pack a punch in action sequences are quite highlighted. No doubt, he has quite a star like body language but should improvise the way while reacting to certain dialogues in high octane scenes.
Though the role he played in PNJ is not a complete demonstrator of his skills, his comedy timing is better though his exaggeration of words is little on the shade. On a whole we have to say that Sai Dharam Tej made an impressive debut though he hasn’t taken people by a storm. With time, things gets ripen and rich, same is the case with this mega menalludu too.
EXCLUSIVE: Rudramma Devi Special Show for Krishna Vamsi
Creative Director Krishna Vamsi is a high on the success of his recent release, Govindhudu Andari Vaadele. The success comes as a huge relief for the maverick director as he is bogged down in bitter flops for several years. Krishna Vamsi has decided to take a break for himself before deciding up on his next project. And during this break he happened to see few shots of Gunasekhar’s Rudramma Devi. It is said that KV saw few scenes and songs of the film in the special show of the film arranged by Gunasekhar himself and is totally awestruck with the film.
It is said that he personally called every one of the movie team and spoke at length of their contribution and the film as a whole. Usually Krishna Vamsi is a very rigid man and does not get impressed very easily. In such case Guna has pulled off a near impossible thing. Gunasekhar has finished the shooting of his dream project, Rudramma Devi and is currently busy overseeeing the post production works of the film. Guna is planning to release the film for Sankranthi 2015.
The film will join the race of Gopala Gopala and NTR-Puri film which are also releasing for Sankranthi. The movie is said to be India’s historical stereoscopic 3D film in which Anushka will play the title role while Rana will play the role of Chalukya Veerabhadrudu, the prince of Nidavardhyapuram (Present Nidadavole). Guna will himself produce the movie and had roped in some top class technicians on to the project. Maestro Ilayaraja is the music composer.

Finally the big day has arrived for Sai Dharam Teja, the new hero to debut from the mega family. After waiting for a very long time for the release of his first film, he finally debuts with his family production house Geeta Arts. So, let’s see how Sai Dharam Teja’s first release has come out.
Story:
The story begins with a notorious politician Ganga Prasad (Sayaji Shinde) and a clean politician Prabhakar (Prakash Raj) vying for the CM’s seat.An investigative journalist Shafi (Shafi) breaks a story on Ganga Prasad and reveals that he has some important information on the candidate aspiring to the next CM.In comes Maisamma (Jagapati Babu), a contract killer, who is assigned the task of finishing off Shafi by the SP (Ahuti Prasad).
Once he is done with Shafi, Maisamma is given another photograph as the next contract. Meanwhile, it’s time for the hero’s debut and in comes Srinu (Sai Dharam Teja) from Palakollu. He finds his way to Maisamma through Yadi (Raghu Babu) to seek his help to get rid of a person. Of course, Maisamma is not convinced and refuses to take up the task. That’s when Srinu narrates how he fell in love with Siri (Regina) and why he wants Maisamma to finish off a man. The scene shifts to an engineering college where both Srinu and Siri are students and from here on the story takes a few surprise twists and turns.
Artistes’ Performances:
Ever since he was about to debut with YVS Choudhary’s Rey, Sai Dharam Teja has been presented as a promising star waiting to be introduced. Well, finally, one gets to see him in action. For a debutant, he is very good and has a natural ease. His tall frame is surely an asset for him and like his uncle mega star Chiranjeevi and his cousin Bunny; he is rather good with his dance moves.Since he has debuted with his home banner, he gets to dress well and gets ample screen time to display all his talent. Though the film is primarily a love story, he also gets to flex his muscles.
Regina on the other hand looks okay for the role and she goes about it sincerely. After Ileana and Kajal, she seems to be the new favourite of the mega family. Well, she is no glam doll for sure, but suits the role of Sailaja or Siri perfectly.
Jagapathi Babu is thoroughly enjoying his new-found success and his comic villain role is a cakewalk for him. After watching villains from other languages for a very long time, it is nice to see a Telugu actor filling up the space.
There is nothing new to say about Prakash Raj who plays his character convincingly. Of course, he has competition in the form of Jagapathi Babu, but the director has managed to give them enough space to show off their talent.
Others like Shafi, Pridhvi, Satya, Raghu Babu, Hema, Chandra Mohan are among others who fill the other parts and are their usual best.
Technical Excellence:
Music by Anup Rubens is okay but the title song is catchy. There is another number in the beginning which is also good on the ears. Cinematography and editing are good. Dil Raju was quite confident of the way the director has handled the screenplay at the audio success function of the film and it is indeed a different approach to a love story. After a lull in his career post Yagnam, AS Ravi Kumar Choudhary is back with PNLJ and he makes a decent effort to present the latest mega hero in an entertaining format.
Highlights:
Sai Dharam Teja
Direction
Comedy
Title song
Drawbacks:
Regina looks too plain Jane
Analysis:
It is every actor’s dream to have a dream debut with the industry’s biggest banner. In case of Sai Dharam Teja, he’s got the chance to debut with not one mega banner, but two of the biggest names in Telugu film industry. With Geeta Arts and Dil Raju co-producing the film, there were a lot of expectations from Pilla Nuvvu Leni Jeevitam. But credit must be given to director Ravi Kumar Choudhary for making a film that will work well with the young audiences.
His story has many twists and turns, some predictable and some not so predictable. Yet, he maintains the pace and makes sure that the film has all the commercial elements in place. Instead of relying on action as is the norm with debut films, Ravi Kumar relies on comedy to pull off his film and that did have the audience laughing all through the second half.
It is heartening to watch Sai Dharam Teja debut after a long wait and Pilla Nuvvu Leni Jeevitam might turn out to be his trump card to get a foothold in the industry. Of course, it is no bang, bang, vroom, vroom, kind of debut, but Sai Dharam Teja has surely got the right film to make his big screen debut.
Bottomline: Comic entertainer
Reel Talk: ‘I Am Still Energetic’
Though she is not a Telugu actress, she has good command on the language and she can make the Telugu audience laugh at her comic capers. In the past, Kovai Sarala had done some very good roles alongside Brahmanandam. Though she is not seen very often in films these days, she is presently judging a show titled Comedy Circus along with Posani Krishna Murali on Zee Telugu.
But Kovai Sarala says her comic timing is still perfect despite fewer offers. After having acted in many Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam films, Kovai Sarala also got to play the lead opposite Kamal Haasan in Sati Leelavathi. While maintaining that she will play comedy roles and even a heroine if she gets the right offer, Kovai Sarala says the industry has good comedians right now.
I am not in a hurry to work with Kareena
Actor Saif Ali Khan, who has roped in his wife Kareena Kapoor to do a cameo in his next film “Happy Ending”, says he is in no hurry to work with the actress. “I am not in a hurry to work with her. It would be a rare man who would like to work every time with his wife. It would be nice for me to work in a different world and then come home to meet her,” Saif told reporters in a group interview.
Directed by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D.K, “Happy Ending” also stars Govinda, Kalki Koechlin, Ileana D’Cruz and Ranvir Shorey. Saif, who was previously seen in “Bullett Raja” and “Humshakals”, says he was very comfortable doing “Happy Ending” as it was a romantic-comedy. “It’s like a comfort zone because we have worked in this world before.
However, within this space we couldn’t do the same thing again, we had to do something different. Directors Raj and DK have written a great script with a sense of humour. “My character has ex-girlfriends and complications in life, there is another character who is his alter ego — the double role,” he said. The film is slated for a Nov 21 release.
Photo Feature: Bold Show By Bollywood Beauty
Hot Siren Evelyn Sharma is on cloud nine. Speaking to a Bollywood magazine, she said “Im excited to be a part of a project which i cannot reveal at the moment, but my character has got lot of scope for performance”. Evelyn appeared in minor roles in some of the Bollywood films and she is ready to take up the role of mainstream actress now.
Salman sister’s wedding: Top stars to dazzle Hyderabad
Top Bollywood stars will descend on Hyderabad Nov 18 as Salman Khan’s youngest sister Arpita ties the knot with her long-time fiance and businessman Ayush Sharma at a gala ceremony. Preparations for the wedding are in full swing at Taj Falaknuma, the luxury heritage hotel of the Taj Group located in the old city. The actor’s family has booked the entire hotel for two days, Nov 18 and 19, to ensure that nobody gatecrashes the festivities.
The popular star, who has a huge fan following in this city, has invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the wedding but the latter is unlikely to make it. The superstar personally met Modi a few days ago in Delhi to invite him but the the prime minister expressed his inability as he will be away on a three-nation tour to Myanmar, Australia and Fiji. The actor is also believed to have invited Congress president Sonia Gandhi, but she is also not likely to come. Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan top the long list of invitees to the wedding.
While Amitabh has not yet confirmed his participation, King Khan and his wife Gauri are likely to make it in view of their close ties with Salman’s family. Aamir Khan, Katrina Kaif, Hritik Roshan, Deepika Padukone, Saif Ali Khan, his wife Kareena Kapoor, Dharmendra, his wife Hema Malini, Karan Johar, David Dhawan and several other film personalities have reportedly confirmed their participation.
From Tollywood, as Telugu film industry is popularly called, actor-turned-politician Chiranjeevi, his son Ram Charan Teja, Nagarjuna, Venkatesh and their families will be among select guests. Salman and his father Salim Khan have invited leading politicians, sportspersons and corporate honchos for the ceremony. About 300 guests are likely to attend the wedding. Bollywood celebrities usually head to Jodhpur for marriages at the opulent palaces-turned-luxury hotels but this is the first time that a leading Bollywood family chose Hyderabad.
Top Bollywood stars visiting Hyderabad for shoots frequent Falaknuma, one of the most beautiful palaces of Nizam, the ruler of erstwhile Hyderabad State. The palace, which the Taj Group converted into a luxury hotel and threw it open four years ago, has 60 lavish rooms, decorated halls and a 101-seat dining hall, said to be the biggest in the world. Its Durbal Hall, embellished with intricately carved wooden ceilings, parquet flooring, regal walnut wood furniture and handcrafted mirrors, had once hosted guests like King George V and Czar Nicholas II. Located five kilometres from Charminar, Falaknuma, or ‘mirror of the sky’ in Urdu, is the scorpion-shaped, all-marble palace and was once the residence of Mir Mahboob Ali Khan (1869-1911), the sixth Nizam.
Perched atop a hill, the palace in 2010 opened its doors to guests with all its opulent interiors and breathtaking views. It was Nawab Vaqar-ul-Umra, the Nizam’s prime minister, who built the palace in 1893. Impressed by its magnificence, the Nizam bought it for himself. Though the Taj Group converted several palaces into luxury hotels, Falaknuma stands apart in its splendour and majesty. Salman Khan is said to have paid Rs.2 crore to book the hotel for two days. Sources said this was done to ensure that nobody gatecrashes by booking tables at restaurants or by visiting spas. The family will have its own security to screen the guests.
The hotel staff will work as per their instructions to ensure smooth arrangements. Marriages in some rich families like the family of industrialist G.V.K. Reddy were performed at Falaknuma but this will be the first time that the palace will witness the wedding of a Bollywood family. Sources said Hyderabad-born actress Dia Mirza also wanted to celebrate her wedding at Falaknuma but negotiations for a better price made no progress and she finally dropped the plans.
A couple of suites, including the one which was used by Nizam, are the most expensive. The hotel charges over Rs.5 lakh a night for the Nizam suite. It’s not just Rs.2 crore which Salman’s family will be spending on the celebrations. All the wedding planners, caterers and specialists providing services from makeup to decoration to mehendi and sangeet will be flown in from Mumbai for the grand celebrations.
Erra Bus Movie Review – 3/5
Movie : Erra Bus
Rating :3/5
Cast: Dasari, Vishnu Manchu, Catherine
Directed by: Dasari Narayana Rao
Produced by: Dasari
Banner: Tharaka Prabhu Films
Music by: Chakri
Release Date: 2014-11-14
Erra Bus, the remake of Tamil film Manjapai, garnered many special elements which naturally created curiosity. Actor-director Dasari Narayana Rao, who was busy with politics, has returned to movies, donned makeup after a longtime and of course wielded megaphone. The film happens to be his 151th film and it turned out to be more special when Vishnu Manchu, scion of versatile actor Mohan Babu, teamed up with Dasari. Given that Mohan Babu and Dasari combo delivered several successful and acclaimed films, there has been attention towards Dasari and Vishnu’s first ever combination. Let’s check our verdict whether Erra Bus lived up to all its expectations or not.
Story :
It’s a simple tale of grandfather (Dasari) and grandson Rajesh (Vishnu Manchu) focusing on human emotions, bonding between Thata-Manavadu. While Rajesh, a software engineer aspiring to go to US, he decided to spend 3 months with his doting grandfather in the city. In between Rajesh falls for a girl Raji (Catherine) and so Raji. As grandfather arrives to his place, then Rajesh’s life takes several dramatic turns and troubled waters start in his life, including his love life, because of his grandpa’s village habitat. How did Rajesh handle the turn of events and how did his grandpa cope with it form the crux of the story.
Performances:
Dasari Narayana Rao: Dasari fits the bill in the role of grandfather hailing from village. His typical village nuances tickle funny bone at times and also bring tears at other portions.
Vishnu Manchu: Vishnu has yet again proved his mettle. He owned the character as an urban software engineer. His subtle acting and matured performance rescues the film at several portions and keep us hook to the film.
Catherine: Catherine is just filler in the film. She just did her part, shook legs with Vishnu Manchu and partly revved up glam factor in the film. Albeit, she doesn’t come out of flying colours through the film.
Others: Actor Raghu Babu is definitely a surprise package in the film. Raghu Babu as Wire (electrician) played a decent role and engages you to the film. Senior actors like Nassar are just okay. And Murali Mohan made a blink-and-miss cameo in the film.
Technical aspects:
Cinematography is good and Chakri’s music is passable. Namasivaya song is treat to watch. Interestingly, after longtime lyrics are neat and understandable. However, editing is a big thumbs down as there were several unnecessary scenes.
Thumbs Up
Vishnu Manchu
Thumbs Down
Brahmanandam’s comedy
Slow-pace
Editing
Heavy dose of sentiment
Analysis:
First things first, remakes are not so easy to handle. Although it was a proved story, it comes with a certain baggage and expectations. Erra Bus reminds you the same as the movie fails to live up to the buzz it created. At the same time, it’s not a bad film either. There were a handful of scenes which bring smile on your face and also make you cry.
Like we said before, Vishnu Manchu rescues the film with his subtle emotions and matured performance. The scenes involving Vishnu and Dasari and Catherine makes for a decent watch and especially Dasari playing spoilsport for Vishnu’s love is engaging. Towards the end, Dasari’s performance thugs ones hearts.
But too much of melodrama, heavy dose of sentiment dampens the film to the hilt. Comedy scenes with Brahmanandam and MS Narayana misfired in a big way. They could have been avoided. At the same time, placement of songs clearly interrupts films narrative. All in all, Erra Bus is a putrid copy of Manjapai. It’s just one-time watch provided if you’re great lover of sentiments and human emotions.
Verdict: One-time watch if you are diehard fan of sentiments!
Hussain Sagar Lake to be emptied this Summer?
The Government of Telangana under the leadership of CM KCR is focusing all its efforts towards making Hussain Sagar water potable once again. In this regard, it is already known that KCR has been conceiving various measures to ensure that the lake retains its lost glory. As part of the lake beautification efforts, KCR is planning high-rise skyscrapers on the lines of Malaysia and Mumbai but one new initiative is all set to become a sensation.
According to reports, for the first time in decades, the iconic Hussain Sagar Lake in the heart of Hyderabad would be completely pumped out of its water so that all the debris can be cleared from the lake once and all, which would happen in the summer of 2015. It would be really a different things to watch an empty Hussain Sagar isn’t it?
TDP begins to make mark in Telangana
Telugu Desam Party which was badly battered during the Separate State Agitatiion days could not even manage the Main Opposition Status in the last elections. Adding to that, one by one the party MLAs started slipping from the party making the party’s future bleak in the new state. KCR and Co targeted to end the party in Telangana by repeatedly blaming Chandrababu Naidu as the reason for all the problems in Telangana. While every one started writing off TDP, the party staged a good comeback in the current Budget Session.
Revanth Reddy is leading the party from the front and making the ruling party breathless with all the allegations. The situation is so tough for TRS that KCR and Harish Rao themselves had to counter Revanth Reddy and finally put a pause to TDP by suspending them for no reason twice. At the same time, Main Opposition Party, Congress is still battling the electoral loss. Lack of proper leadership in Congress is clearly visible in the Assembly session.
Jana Reddy is the only person active in the party but he is going to soft on the government. One can feel that TDP is playing the role of main opposition party while others are numb. TDP fans hope that if they continue the good work, the party’s future will be definitely good going forward. Interestingly, Errabelli and Revanth put aside their differences and cooperating with each other in the Assembly.
