Super hot TV enchantress Anasuya, who becomes femme fatale with her dazzling looks and histrionics in the most popular TV game show ‘Jabardasth’, is all set to create two big sensations. She is doing the host of super hit TV game show ‘MAA Mahalakshmi’. On the wake of Navarathri celebrations, she will be seen wearing Rs.4 crores worth jewellery for the special episode of the show and which is said to be the first of its kind among South TV anchors.

Not that Anasuya‘s sensation, that ends as a host of TV game shows. She will soon be the getting readied to enthrall the audiences on celluloid. Inside buzz is that Anasuya will do the protagonist of a female oriented movie which is produced by a big producer. More details are awaited on this project.

Comedy King Allari naresh is setting his weapons readied to invade the tollywood’s box office later this year with his new movie ‘Brother of Bommali’. The movie is being made as a laugh riot, like many super hit films of Allari naresh. However, the first look poster, that has been unveiled by the makers recently, has generated great curiosity among the movie buffs. This pic is showcased seven pics of Allari naresh falling for the lady lead, Karthika Nair. Is Allari naresh appearing seven roles? Or just is it a black magic as per the genre of the movie? Or is it a funny song in the movie? One thing is clear. The movie is not going to be a routine commercial potboiler. Seems like Allari naresh decided to hit the bulls eye with his flick with an innovative concept.

Karthika Nair, who will be seen as the female lead, is doing dual roles with an action character in them. As per the story, Allari naresh is rescued by her many times whenever he gets into troubles. Monal Gazzar is doing other lady lead’s role in the movie. Sekhar Chandra scored the music of the movie. B Chinni has directed the movie. Ammiraju has produced the movie.

In spite of Mahesh Babu’s commercial stamina fell into a question mark with commercially weak result of ‘Aagadu’ and ‘1 Nenokkadine,’ there is no dearth in producers hiking his market value and remuneration. Although Mahesh is currently committed to a movie of Koratala Siva for the production house of Mythri Movies, there are many producers like DVV Danayya, Aswini Dutt waiting for his call sheets. As Mahesh is a hero who allots his diary pages based on the strength in script and ability of a production company, he isn’t accepting the projects in a hurry.

If latest speculations are to be believed, DVV Danayya has offered a magical and extraneous remuneration figure to trap Mahesh Babu for a film in next year. Although this fee hike is unexpected, the situation has also put Mahesh in a dilemma. Once Koratala Siva movie progresses, a final decision from Mahesh can be expected and a clarity on this remuenration figure will also be available in market.

This is not the first time, but once again the Union minister Venkaiah Naidu reiterated Megastar chiranjeevi  the third eye of tollywood when NTR and ANR are considered to be two eyes of tollywood. chiranjeevi and Venkaiah Naidu graced T Subbarami Reddy’s 71st birthday celebrations yesterday. Apart from showering praises on T Subbarami Reddy’s services in various fields, Venkaiah praised chiranjeevi‘s contribution to tollywood. A couple of years ago, Venkaiah Naidu attended as one of the chief guests of ‘Indra’ 175 days function and said chiranjeevi as the third eye of the function.

Speaking about Subbarami Reddy, chiranjeevi said, ” Although Subbarami Reddy garu organizes many functions, never ever had he tried celebrate his birthday functions. He, Venkaiah garu and I have Nellore city’s connection, as my mother hails from Nellore. Whenever I feel dull and get bored, I remember the name of Subbarami Reddy as he is very active always”.  chiranjeevi also added, ” Have I get an opportunity, I want to do Ph.D and research on Subbarami Reddy garu.”

Leading production house 14 Reels International who scored a 45-crore hit with “Legend’, could return to Nandamuri star, for another blockbuster, since their latest release with Mahesh is toterring at the box office.

They made “Legend” while riding high on the success of “Dhookudu” but now they need Balayaa to give them a much-needed hit to overcome their losses. “They were truly impressed Balakrishna ‘s professional and disciplined working style as he enabled them to finish Legend in time and save lot of money in the making and also minted crores post-release, so he is the best bet for them” says a industry source. We have to see, whether they will return to Adhinaykudu star or not. 

So far, the Tollywood industry has been the green pasture for many aspiring actresses and villains from different parts of India. In the last few decades, some of the top most heroines in Tollywood have been from different parts outside Andhra Pradesh. Now, it is heard that another section of people are showing interest.

They are the cricketers. Recently, news came that Sreesanth is doing a film in Telugu but we are not speaking about that. Reports reveal many boys who are playing and have played cricket in Ranji Trophies and other leagues are eyeing Tollywood. They are doing something or the other to enter Tollywood.

The reason being, their main target is to get into the Celebrity Cricket League (CCL). Though the IPL is the biggest league, in the last few years CCL has earned a brand and demand. The film stars are playing like professionals and the magnitude is high. Even a series of matches are taking place in foreign venues. Above all, there is good money. So, these hardcore players want to earn and quench their passion. Since IPL is farfetched, they are targeting CCL. The requirement is, an individual must be an actor so they are trying hard to get cinema offers and do at least a small role so that they can become eligible. 

If distributors reports are to be believed, then superstar Mahesh Babu has marginally surpassed Rabhasa collections even though, both the big films are declared flops.

“The fist day collections and more number of theatres helped “aagadu to stay ahead” says a distributor. However, even Aagadu can’t run for longer as crowds are thinning near theatre counters, barring some city theatres, so for now, Mahesh stays ahead of his arch rival.

Even otherwise, Mahesh had two 50-plus crore blockbusters, while NTR had just one 50-crore hit in Badshah, so Mahesh is ahead. 

Aagadu: After garnering more than Rs 22 crore in the first 3 days of its release, superstar Mahesh Babu couldn’t establish even first week collection record and in the upcoming holidays the film is expected to just make around Rs 3 to 4 core with great difficulty (Since it has been taken out of more than 200-odd theatres). Was it the sign of waning magic of Mahesh Babu or reckless script of Sreenu Vytla, whose overconfidence, that audience could watching any crap in the name of comedy, surely backfired. Only saving grace for the viewers is some punchlines. On whole, it’s clear that Brand ‘Mahesh’ couldn’t save Aagadu from debacle.

Loukyam: After few flops, actor Gopichand gets a breather as his latest comic-caper “Loukyam” garnered good openings and expected to make more than Rs 5.5 core in one week to reach the safer zone riding on  holiday crowds  this Dussera. Gopichand, who does lot of action usually, has to tickle the laughing bones, to draw audience, to the theatres and succeeded.

Power: Even though, Ravi Teja’s action film lost the momentum, but it would cross Rs 20 crore mark this festival but falls short of a making profits to distributors, as they could lose 30% of their investments. But Ravi would have preferred a much bigger collections, but still his stocks have sustained. 

Comedy king Brahmanandam and his demand in Tollywood is known to all. It is so high that he just has to quote a number as his remuneration and producers will be ready to give it. Brahmi as he is fondly called charges on daily call sheet basis and though there are many talented comedians, his place is different.

Now, one comedian is rapidly earning the tag of Junior Brahmanandam for his antics. He is none other than Saptagiri and the news from industry is that his demand is also touching the peaks. It is heard that Saptagiri is asking for Rs 1.5 lakhs per daily call sheet and his demand has not come down despite that.

While some banners are giving, some are negotiating based on their scale of movie. The horror comedy flick ‘Prema Katha Chitram’ was the turning point in Saptagiri’s life and it got elevated with the hit movie ‘Venkatadri Express’. It now remains to be seen whether Saptagiri can sustain his innings as long as Brahmanandam now that he has got the title of being his junior. 

Releasing a movie on Friday and getting rave reviews coupled by astounding collections is what generally ever ‘star’ will expect. But for Ram Charan’s upcoming flick, a super cool buzz from first day first show will be the blessing in disguise as it happens to be lengthiest weekend a Telugu flick could ever see. Looking at this, producer Bandla Ganesh is now claiming a sure shot “industry hit’ with ‘Govindudu Anadarivadele’.

If October 1st is GAV’s release day, then 2nd is Gandhi Jayanthi, 3rd is Dasara followed by a Saturday and Sunday. Five days of complete holiday mood among movie lovers make GAV their most favourite film. “Despite re-shoot, we’ve shot Govindudu within budget and Krishna Vamsi carved every frame with creative brilliance. Ram Charan will be seen like never before and I’m sure this flick is an industry hit in the offing”, says Ganesh, confirming that GAV will be released in around 1800 theatres across the world. ‘I’m unable to control excitement as I’ve to still wait for two days to show the film to audiences. All awards and collections will flow in GAV’s way”, he signed off.

These claims are looking quite tall for the now as most producers of ‘big ticket’ movies that have hit screens in past couple of weeks boasted similar claims during release. But with long weekend in hand, a positive word of mouth will help Govindudu Andarivadele fetch 25+ crore opening weekend easily, say trade circles. Let us see. 

Every comedian who sets foot in Tollywood dreams big to become another Brahmanandam or MS Narayana at least. But none has literally touched the position of Brahmi as he enjoys the patronage of being unique, hilarious, performing and unbeatable actor. But the likes of MS, Posani and recently Saptagiri are surely creating flutters with their comic timing.

Adding another feather to Tollywood’s happening comedy gang, actor Prithviraj is a happy man now. Twelve years after his recognition as a comedian with the popular line ’30 Years Industry’ through  Krishna Vamsi’s Khadgam has made big splash now. Those who saw yesterday’s release ‘Loukyam’ can’t stop raving about Prithvi’s ‘Boiling Star Babloo’ role, a TV serial hero who makes a mockery of many happening TV artists and heroes.

There seems to be quite untapped potential in Prithvi and ‘Loukyam’ used it to the fullest. Despite being part of many Sreenu Vytla’s movies, Prithvi never got such relatively long screen presence. If directors of that stature cast him in lengthy comic sequences then he is gonna rock. Nonetheless, we have to see that Prithvi’s dream got realized after 12 years. 

Tollywood has developed this trend of using starting lyrics of Chartbuster songs as film titles in recent times. Recently Naga Chaitanya’s next Oka Laila Kosam is derived from the starting lyric of Akkineni Nageswara Rao’s Chartbuster song from Ramudu Kaadhu Krishnudu movie, which released in 1983. And there is news that Nagarjuna’s next is titled ‘Soggade Chinni Nayana’ as the title of the film. ‘Soggade Chinni Nayana’ is the starting lyric of Legend ANR’s Asthiparulu movie.

The song composed by KV Mahadevan in 1966 was a chart buster song back then. And now Sharwanand seem to be joining this league. His next film directed by Onamalu fame Kranthi Madhav is titled ‘Malli Mallee idhi raani roju” for Megastar Chiranjeevi and Suhasini starer Rakshasudu. Veturi has penned the lyrics of this song to which Ilayaraja is the music composer. Interestingly, Rakshasudu producer KS Rama Rao is also the producer of this film.

Sharwanand who played the boy next door roles till now is reportedly playing a sports person in the movie and is flexing his muscles to show off his chiseled body in the film. Nitya Menon who has romanced Sharwanand in his yet to release, Yemito ee Maaya is also the heroine in this movie. Sharwanand who recently bagged the much delayed success with Run Raja Run wants to continue the success streak with both these films.

Varun Tej’s debut movie ‘Mukundha’ is being directed by Seethamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu fame Srikanth Addala. The film is currently heading towards completion and will hit the marquee towards the end of the year.

Pooja Hedge will be pairing up with Varun Tej in this film. Mukundha is a beautiful love story and Varun Tej will be seen as a Volley Ball player in the movie. ‘Tagore’ Madhu and Nallamallapu Bujji are together producing the movie. Mickey J.Meyer is composing the music.

As revealed by Megastar Chiranjeevi sometime back, upcoming mega hero Varun Tej happens to be the ‘favorite’ child in mega fraternity. Raving about his Greek-god looks, Chiru says that Varun is his personal favorite and the first ever lover-boy kind hero from their family.

Here in this picture, a young Varun Tej dressed in full hands tee and a jean is seen playfully closing his eyes while ‘pedananna’ Chiranjeevi is tenderly closing the kid’s ears. Ever since director Sreenu Vaitla made Dhee in 2007, Tollywood has struck by its screenplay. Many directors, screenplay writers, heroes have smitten by the bug called Sreenu Vaitla. They made sure that the protagonist/hero enter into villain’s house or other way around with a false identity and there you see all stereotyped comedy and finally he brings drastic reforms in crooks by changing their hearts and finally movie ends on positive note.

Several films were made on the similar lines of Dhee so far. Pawan Kalyan’s Attarintiki Daaredi or Prabhas’ Mirchi or Manchu’s Doosukeltha, just released Loukyam are a few to name. Several directors, producers can’t forego Sreenu’s screenplay style. Not even Sreenu couldn’t come out of his Dhee style at times. It may work for few films but certainly not for all films. The ridicule now doing the rounds in Film Nagar is that Sreenu Vaitla should register for a patent on these kind of films in order to shun the others to “use” this formula.

A large part of the film industry’s earnings come to the studios wherein the shootings of the film take place. Place like Ramoji Film City, Annapurna Studios, Ramanaidu Studios etc are the sought after hubs for shooting. But now, it appears that there is a slight threat these joints would be facing.

This is in the form of the Aluminium Factory located near Serlingampally. Given its vast expanse of 30 acres and the nominal pricing for conducting a shooting, many in Tollywood are opting for it. As of now, three films are on the floors happening simultaneously in the premises of Aluminimum factory.

They are Ram Gopal Varma’s ‘Ice Cream’ sequel, aggressive hero Gopichand’s venture under UV Creations banner and crazy director Puri Jagannadh is shooting one movie wherein he has erected a beach set. That way, instead of going to studios which is expensive Aluminium factory is being chosen as it is relatively cheap. As such, not many big works are happening inside the factory so instead of the Aluminium industry, it has become useful for the entertainment industry. 

The vision of CM KCR about shaping up a ‘Bangaru Telangana’ sounds rosy but in reality it might be taking many years. The fundamental challenge for him is to create proper infrastructure for growth of the new state. And thanks to the forced bifurcation, the capital city of Hyderabad has become the worst suffering victim.
 
The city has been experiencing some heavy power cuts. Currently it is 4 hours officially and experts say down the line it is going to increase. In summers it is expected to touch at least 10 hours if measures are not taken. But instead of relying on the government, many are looking for their own remedies.

Reports say that at many places solar power is being used. For that matter, even film star Nagarjuna’s house is entirely run on solar power. Many schools and educational institutions are going for solar paneling. If 8k is monthly bill through regular electrity, the solar panel installation is 6 lakhs so they are considering it as 6 years bill one-time payment.  In small establishments, 1 hour of diesel generator costs 1600 rupees so one can imagine how the corporate would incur cost when there is a power cut. That way, solar power is becoming the largest movement in Hyderabad. 

Young Tiger NTR is currently reeling under string of flops and his fast losing his success sheen. While some blame it on his selection of scripts and judgement failure, others say his immaturity in politics affected his silver screen success.

It is known that TDP supremo Chandra Babu Naidu used NTR’s charishma sometime in 2009 elections. Though it didnot work due to various reasons, he drew massive crowds. However differences arose when Nara Lokesh made his political entry and took rapid strides showcasing his political ambitions long time before the recently held general elections.

NTR opposed Lokesh’s rise in the party and preference given to him and this angered Chandra Babu Naidu. Some say NTR overestimated his strength or underestimated Chandra Babu’s cleverness and astute political skills. He even rubbed on the wrong side of Natasimha Balakrishna. Chandra Babu quickly seized the opportunity and separated him from NTR.

Balakrishna fans stopped supporting NTR during his film releases and he was completely sidelined from the party while Balakrishna became MLA winning elections. Now with string of flops NTR seems to have realized. Buzz is he met Lokesh recently and sources say he expressed his willingness to Join hands with TDP. Lokesh informed the same to his dad and CM Chandra Babu but Babu washed his hands saying everything is in Balakrishna’s hands. Lokesh informed the same to Young Tiger. Now he is waiting eagerly for Balayya’s response. With ball in his court, Balakrishna is not responding yes or no increasing tensions in Tiger. 

Tamil hero Karthi rings a bell among Telugu audiences too as he impressed Tollywood with his self-dubbing and subtle acting with the movie ‘Awara’. Since then he is getting good openings for his movies in Telugu as well, but is failing to convert those big starts into bit hits.

Not just Telugu versions, but the Tamil originals of his latest flicks like Biryani, Bad Boy and Sakuni too failed miserably. This pushed our hero into deep thinking as to the kind of flicks he is picking. Finally he has come up with a realistic and rustic flick titled ‘Madras’. Released yesterday, this flick received rave reviews from all quarters as critics heaped praises for its technical brilliance and emotional intensity.

‘Madras’ ended the four-year-long wait of Karthi for a ‘blockbuster’ talk on day one at box office. Unlike all the time, Madras was not dubbed into Telugu this time and now that the movie turned hit surely some distributor will bring into Telugu.
