Party senior leaders  KK Mahender Reddy, Bajireddy Govardhan and Gattu Ramachandra Rao said they knew all along that there would be no decision in the core committee meeting. They said Congress was cheating the people through meetings and deadlines. Mahender Reddy earlier said they have no hope that a solution to the Telangana problem would be found now.

Talking to the media here on Friday, he said the Congress Core Committee would not decide anything. Stating that all other parties have already aired their views on Telangana, he said the Congress alone was not disclosing its stand on separate Telangana State. He said it was unbelievable that the party, which was hesitating even to disclose its views on Telangana would now solve the problem.

Bajireddy Govardhan said they would be happy if the Congress resolved the Telangana problem. Asked about the resignation of his party’s Kadapa MLAs, he said they resigned opposing bifurcation of Rayalaseema and not creation of Telangana.

Telangana Political JAC chief Prof. Koandaram met the TRS chief at his farmhouse on Friday and discussed the Telangana issue with him. KCR said he would not trust the Congress until it passed the Telangana bill in the Parliament. There are reports that he was not satisfied by the turn of events on the Telangana front.

‘Congress held consultations with all leaders and parties and also met AP CM, Dy CM and PCC president. Therefore now, Congress party shall take a decision over the working committee and will take a decision’, said AICC in-charge of state Digvijay Singh ending the three day tension over what will happen after CC meeting.

Is this is not a big joke to conclude the day when leaders and politicians from many parties are eagerly waiting for a decision on AP issue. Of course, yes. But, political analysts say that this is an expected ‘single line joke/answer’ from Congress, but it is only media that created hungama and hype as if something is happening to Andhra Pradesh on July 12th. None other than Digvijay Singh has actually showed any interest to interact with media after the meeting, including AP trio and national leaders of Congress.

Political Punch: Congress will as usual prolong the issue till 2014 elections and if they have indication that their party is going to lose, then they will do something. Else, Congress will once again postpone the issue and keeps on doing it. But when are they (Central government) actually going to end this bifurcation/unification issue. When is Congress going to hold CWC meeting? Why are they raising bars of hope and again pouring water? Many questions for ruling party to answer.

The reports said that Kiran threatened to quit the CM if the state is bifurcated. He informed Sonia Gandhi that he will take the responsibility of the victory of the Congress in the next general election putting condition that the state should be united. The meeting came amid indications that Congress has decided to spell out a clear stand on the vexed issue of separate statehood soon.

Sources said that more than half a dozen Lok Sabha MPs from Telangana region  held a meeting at the residence of MP Ponnam Prabhakar.The meeting was also attended by ministers from Telangana region in the Reddy-led government in the state. The MPs Prabhakar, Madhuyakshi Goud, Sukhender Reddy, S. Rajaiah, Suresh Kumar Shetkar and others also held a meeting at the residence of AICC secretary and a senior leader from the region V. Haumantha Rao.

The pro-Telangana leaders have plans to meet AICC general secretary in-charge for the state Digvijay Singh and Gandhi’s secretary Ahmed Patel before the Core Group meeting in which some finality on the issue is expected. Meanwhile, the Chief minister said he did not put any ultimatum before the congress high command over the bifurcation of AP as reported in a section of media. He also did not threaten to quit his post if the state is bifurcated as reported in the media.  

According to the note shown by NTV, Congress party has actual come up with a proposal to bifurcate Andhra Pradesh into two states. One will be the ‘State of Andhra’ and other will be ‘State of Hyderabad’. Andhra will include all of coastal districts with Kadapa and Chittoor included. Coming to Hyderabad state, in includes Kurnool, Anantapur and Telangana districts. Also a priority package will be given to Andhra State, while three other packages will also be given for the sake of development of these two states. Political analysts however say that Congress is taking this step only for the sake of saving vote banks in their favour. But how far this is acceptable to people of Andhra, Rayalaseema and Telangana has to be seen.

On the flip side, Rayalaseema leaders are not ready for the split of their region and they are seeking separate Rayalaseema state. Coming to Telangana, the region’s leaders are demanding a separate state comprised only of 10 T-districts. Coming to Andhra, many are inclining towards ‘United Andhra’, while some are demanding special Coastal state. Let us see how it goes.

Though doubts are being expressed if any decision could be taken in the absence of the two, some senior leaders of the party are of the view that Congress president Sonia Gandhi and vice president Rahul Gandhi would be present and their decision would be final.

‘Even if Congress says okay for Telangana, then Central Government should jump into scene and discuss with UPA shareholders and take their approval. Also if everyone gives nod to T-state, then Constitutional amendments should be made to change some special status given to Telangana via article 371D and others’, said Digvijay. Also he made it clear that Congress will clear clouds over the Telangana issue, but the solution can be in any direction. Congress at the moment is heard thinking of 2014 elections and the ordered ‘road-maps’ are for the same. ‘We are taking a decision in the best interest of people and Country, but not something to control TRS or anyone else’, he concluded.

On a whole, it is clear that AP will get clarity over T-issue by tomorrows Congress Core Committee meeting, but that immediately doesn’t means that they are going to declare separate Telangana. What a ‘master fitting’ sirji! What we have to look at now is how Congress high command is going to withstand the pressure in all the three regions of Andhra Pradesh.

Leaders and politicians who support Samaikyandhra have now stormed Delhi to lobby their views with top Congress brass. Including PCC Chief Botsa Satya Narayana, minister Sailajanath and other met for an emergency meet at Congress MP KVP Ramacharndra Rao’s guest house. Also some Andhra MPs including Kavuri and Rayapati are making their presence felt in the Capital to meet Congress top brass. Reportedly Samaikyandhra student JAC leaders are also present in Delhi in the wake of CM Kiran, Deputy CM Damodara and PCC Chief Botsa submitting their road-maps today evening. However Seemandhra leaders have got the appointment of AICC in-charge Digvijay Singh to express their view.

Coming to T-region leaders, various heads of JACs and politicians representing T-wings of regional parties also made to Delhi. Big  surprise is that all these Telangana and Samaikyandhra leaders have started in the same flight from Hyderabad to reach Delhi.
