Digvijay was known to be very close to the then Chief Minister Dr. Y S Rajasekhara Reddy. It was he who gave access to the late CM to the Congress High Command.

Now why was he brought in again? This is the question biting the minds of not only Congress leaders, but also the leaders of other parties in the state.

Digvijay Singh is incidentally very close to the Congress vice president and the prime ministerial candidate Rahul Gandhi. Because of his vast experience as the former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh and as the top strategist of the party, Rahul has taken him into his inner circle. As he had also worked in Andhra Pradesh and is aware of the terrain and the leaders, Rahul is heavily depending on the stalwart to solve the AP mess.

But things in AP got far too complicated after YSR’s death. The Telangana tangle on one side and the Jagan factor on the other have been worrying the Congress High Command. With this, those who know Sonia Gandhi are aware that it was she who has been pulling back all the efforts to create Telangana and none else. At one stage she even told people in her inner circle that she would not mind even losing AP state.

But Rahul is keen on retaining AP. This is the reason why he brought back Digvijay into AP scene say sources. Digvijay coordinated well with YSR and contributed to strengthening of the party.

Digvijay is also close to the TRS chief K Chandrasekhara Rao. Congress High Command now wants to use his goodwill with both Jagan and KCR to bring the party back to power, though not in the state, at the centre.

It is being said that Rahul was keen on bringing Jagan back into Congress fold. If that was not possible, then he wants some working arrangement with him. Same is the case with the TRS also. Congress and TRS could fight the elections together with an understanding of a future coalition partnership.

It is in the context of building rapport with both Jagan and KCR that Digvijay was brought into the scene say sources. KVP Rama Chandra Rao, also known as a master strategist, is being used in mending both Jagan and KCR, say sources. It is learnt that Digvijay had already had one round of discussions with KVP about how to go about softening both Jagan and KCR. In the days to come, it is being said that KVP-Digvijay combo would finalize the strategies and make plans for a win-win situation for the Congress, in the 2014 elections.
    

He was sworn in, in the presence of the party chief K Chandrasekhara Rao. Several TRS politburo members and other senior leaders attended the programme. The Telangana Bhavan reverberated with Jai Telangana slogans on the occasion. Earlier KCR, KK and others garlanded the statues of Telangana Thalli and Prof Jai Shankar.

Speaking at the Assembly media point on Tuesday, Tirupati MLA Bhoomana Karunakar Reddy asked the Congress government how it could keep their leader in the jail. He accused the government of keeping their leader in the jail as it was afraid of his soaring popularity and party growth. Stating that Jagan was never in the government, he questioned as he would earn illegal money. He said the six ministers who had signed the 26 GOs were corrupt and not Jaganmohan Reddy.

Time and again, Mohan Babu is unable to come to conclusion whether he should continue with old horse Telugudesam or join hands with newly established YSR Congress. TDP is connected to him more emotionally, while YSR-C is now his family relative. If he chooses one now, definitely the other quarter will breathe fire on him. Maybe for this reason, Mohan Babu is also keeping quiet. Otherwise if he feels that people will hail him irrespective of the party flag, maybe Mohan Babu should contest as an independent and prove his mettle.

Like he says most of the time, �I believe in people�, Mohan Babu should win as a MLA or MP from Tirupathi and make his voice heard in assembly or parliament, if he is seriously concerned about welfare of people, say analysts and his fans too. Rather sticking to a party flag, this is best way to show mettle in politics. Let us see what he will do.

Speaking to the media here on Monday, Mattaiah said he filed an FIR at the Uppal Police Station against the caller one Kondala Rao, a close associate of Jagan�s sister Sharmila�s husband, Bro. Anil. Maintaining that he would not change his stand under duress and attempts of criminal intimidation tactics, Mattaiah accused the YSRCP of neglecting the Christian Minority community. That party doesn�t have even a Christian cell, he added.

It may be mentioned here that recently, speaking at an event in Ravindra Bharati, Mattaiah had stated that the Christian community had decided to excommunicate Jagan�s family from the religion.He also said Swarna Goud, who had expressed support to him earlier has backtracked now apparently due to pressure from Jagan�s supporters. �This kind of arm-twisting actions are highly condemnable�, he said and asked the YSRCP to give importance to the Christian community if they want support from them as well. He said Jagan�s family has been neglecting its own community to woo voters from other communities.

The petitioner had also urged the High Court to cause a CBI investigation against the illegal assets of Maheedhar Reddy and Shahjehan.

Speaking after faxing his resignation to the party, Boda said they had expected YSR Congress would grow as an alternative to TRS and were disappointed as no such indications were available. Expressing suspicion that TRS and YSRCP would work together, Boda said this was the reason why YSR Congress had not developed cadres in the Telangana region though it was three years since the party was launched. He said there was the possibility of the YSR Congress fielding dummy candidates against TRS, to facilitate their victory. He said this was the reason why he chose to come out. He complained that the party had not bothered about his suggestions. Boda was Adilabad district YSRCP convener. Soyam Babu another leader and their cadres also left the party.
