At this moment, Sirish teaming up with Maruthi for ‘Kotha Janta’ is something very crucial. Till this date, Maruthi is rated as a ‘Boothu Director’ who cooks his concepts only around double meaning and filthy dialogues.

Even ‘Prema Katha Chithram,’ a pure treatment based hit movie had glimpses of Maruthi’s double meanings here and there. While directing allu sirish, definitely Maruthi has to remember the sentiments of Mega fans. He should focus only on healthy entertainment rather than his regular formula. If Maruthi fails to do so, one man who should bear the brunt will be only and only allu sirish.

Sudheer Babu, Nanditha’s new movie ‘prema katha chithram’ directed by J Prabhakar Reddy in the supervision of Maruthi is actually produced in a least budget of nearly Rs.1.8 Crores. Now, the movie almost crossed Rs.4.5 Crores and touching Rs.5 Crores by completion of first week which is a record margin of profit for makers and distributors. Most popular South Indian actor, writer and director manivannan is no more. The man who is considered as a mentor for many of the Tamil top directors and writers died with cardiac arrest. He was 58 years old and breathed last in his residence at Nesapakkam. He is known to have directed nearly 50 films, of which some where even dubbed into Telugu and Malayalam too.

Manivannan’s noted filmography included, ‘Pudhu Manithan, Chinna Thambi Periya Thambi and Jalli Kattu.’ His last and 50th directorial was ‘Nagaraja Cholan MA, MLA’ released recently. Actor Siddharth took on Twitter posting, ‘The great manivannan Sir is no more. Many lives in cinema are what they are today because of him. Writer, director, actor… gone too soon. RIP.’

The much awaited Simha combination will go on floors tomorrow. The first schedule of the movie will begin tomorrow in Dubai. The shooting there will go on till 28th of this month and an important chasing scene will be seen in the desert there. And on the other side, there is no confirmation regarding the lead lady of the movie. Earlier certain sections of media had reported that Erica Fernandez will be the one but she has denied it.  She tweeted, “Well I would like to make a clarification here about the rumors of me doing a movie opposite balakrishna. This is a wrong rumor.”

The makers of Allari Naresh’s Action 3D had finally cleared all the technical difficulties before the release of their movie. Action 3D has completed the censor formalities yesterday and was given A certificate due to the presence of exposing scenes in the movie. Sources close to the censor board tells us that the movie is not up to the mark. With this the movie is all set to hit the screens on June 21st. The makers of the movie are aggressively promoting the movie to take it to the audience.

One of the producers of ‘Dookudu’, Anil Sunkara is making his directorial debut with ‘Action 3D’. Also ace choreographer Raju Sundaram is doing a full-fledged role in this film after a huge gap. ‘Godava’ fame Vaibhav, Kamna Jethmalani, Sneha Ullal and Neelam Upadhyaya will be seen in other lead roles. This film is assumed to be the first ‘3D’ comedy film in India.

High on entertainment quotient, the trailer of “Chennai Express”, which came out Thursday, is a mix of action, humour and romance and the film promises to entertain movie buffs thoroughly when it hits the screens Aug 8.

An expert in making rib-tickling comedies, Rohit Shetty, who has directed fun films like “Golmaal” and “Singham”, has set the story in a south Indian backdrop highlighting their culture, with lead actress Deepika Padukone taking the cake with that typical accent. A Mumbai court Friday deferred the hearing of Sooraj Pancholi’s bail plea till June 21.

Sooraj, who is in judicial custody till June 27, has been charged with abetting the suicide of Bollywood actress Nafisa alias Jiah Khan.

When the bail plea came up for hearing Friday, the court asked police to file its reply and posted the matter for further hearing June 21.

Accordingly, Sooraj will remain in the Arthur Road Central Jail till the bail plea comes up for hearing.

A former boyfriend of Jiah, Sooraj, 22, was arrested June 10 after her family handed over a letter which was found three days after the actress’ suicide June 3.

The letter spoke of her strained relationship with Sooraj and how she was deeply hurt as she had to abort their baby.

Sooraj is the son of Bollywood actors Aditya Pancholi and Zarina Wahab and was involved romantically with Jiah for over a year.

On Tuesday, a day after his arrest, Sooraj was sent to police custody till Thursday and then remanded to judicial custody till June 27.

A Mumbai community NGO Friday strongly objected to what it termed a “blasphemous” item number featuring starlet Kavitta Verma, likely to be shown in the forthcoming Bollywood movie “Policegiri”.

The NGO, Catholic Secular Forum (CSF), has written to the movie producers and the Censor Board protesting the scantily-clad

Kavitta allegedly performing the item number wearing a rosary with its cross positioned on her belly.

“The community is concerned. The rosary which she is shown wearing around her neck has its cross positioned on her belly ,” CSF general secretary Joseph Dias told.

Terming this as “totally unacceptable,” Dias pointed out that Christians respect the rosary which they use to intercede with Mary, the mother of Jesus, and reflect in prayer on the various stages in the life of Jesus Christ.

He said that the producer of the movie, T.P. Aggarwal, had assured them that the objectionable scenes would not be shown in the movie, due for release July 5. However, Dias said that in case the producer still goes ahead and depicts the scene, the CSF would initiate criminal proceedings against the makers of the movie.

Dias further urged the Censor Board to ensure that the offensive scenes were deleted from the movie before giving it clearance for release. Incidentally, “Policegiri” was among the handful of movies completed by incarcerated Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt before he went to jail to complete his sentence in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case last month.

Dias urged the producers and the government to take necessary steps to remove the promo pictures of the item number from the Internet as it hurts the religious sentiments of the entire Christian community globally.

The state government is all set to give a major shock to Darsakendra Raghavendra Rao by taking back 2 acres of land it gave to him for developing film related facilities. Raghavendra Rao instead of setting up recording or dubbing theatres as committed, constructed a mall and Cinemax theatre, in the property worth several crores of rupees in the posh Jubilee Hills area.

When Raghavendra Rao started construction of the mall and the theatre in 2006, the Information and Public Relations department which gave the land, issued notice to him to stop the construction. Raghavendra Rao challenged this in the high court. The high court however rejected his contention. After this, the Hyderabad district collector gave a notice to Raghavendra Rao and in his reply, Raghavendra Rao assured that he would not construct any buildings in the place. Still he went ahead and constructed the mall and the theatre.

Taking serious note of it, the district collector recommended to the Information and Public relations department, that the land be taken back. The department in turn, sent the report to the government, recommending that the land be taken back. This would mean a major problem for Darsakendra as he had constructed the mall and the theatre, borrowing crores of rupees from financial institutions.
