Hero’s Daughter leaves Maniratnam in shock

Renowned filmmaker Maniratnam got the shock of his life. After achieving so much in Film Industry, he might not have dreamt in his wildest dreams anything like that happening to him.

A 21-year-old girl said no to Maniratnam, when he offered a film in the lead role. And the girl happens to be none other than Akshara, the younger daughter of legendary Kamal Hassan and Sarika.

Confirming the reports, Kamal said,”I have no idea why Akshara turned down Maniratnam’s offer. I have never imposed any restictions and my daughter are always free to do whatever they want. It’s up to her to decide her future. I guess, Akshara might follow me – starting from behind the camera and then facing the camera later on”.

Akshara is content behind the camera and is currently learning filmmaking, unlike her sister Shruti who is facing the camera. Sources say, Maniratnam who is known for his uncompromising nature is determined to rope in Akshara for his project. Tough times ahead for this maverick director, who is now on a mission to convince the ‘arrogant’ beauty. Hope Mani succeeds!

Thaman Getting Double-Pay From Charan

With ‘Nippu’ going flat with the audience, Thaman’s quality in delivering soothing music was questioned. However, the young musician lived up to expectations and gave a new dimension to Siddharth’s ‘Love Failure’. With that success, he is now doing films of big stars like Ramcharan, Jr.NTR etc,. Sources say that the magical music man is getting a double-pay from Charan and co, for scoring the music of VV Vinayak’s venture. For the same project, Thaman had imported instruments and other sound mixing equipment from world class stores abroad.

‘Charan and Vinayak want a mass-beat for the whole film with a class touch. This should be again different from what Thaman regularly does and hence this high-pay’, a source close to Charan revealed. Looks like a ‘musical bonanza’ is in stores for Mega fans!

However, a look at industry’s biggest hits reveals that all of them got released along with many other movies and have stood a winner. Jagan accused No. 1 in CBI charge-sheet

The Central Bureau of Investigation on Saturday filed charge sheet against YSR Congress president YS Jaganmohan Reddy in the alleged illegal assets case, including him as accused No. 1.

The CBI authorities filed its charge sheet against Jagan, his right hand financial advisor V Vijay Sai Reddy and 11 others, including individuals and firms, in the special CBI court in Hyderabad.

Jagan has been charged with offenses under different provisions of Prevention of Corruption Act, though there were no charges against him under IPC sections, including cheating, criminal conspiracy and breach of trust etc.

The 68-page charge-sheet charged Jagan with aiding his father Y S Rajasekhara Reddy. The charge sheet was supported by 263 documents and 66 witnesses.

Jaganmohan Reddy is accused no. 1, followed by Vijay Sai Reddy and suspended IAS officer B P Acharya and Jagati Publications, which runs Sakshi newspaper, as the co-accused.

Vijay Sai Reddy has been charged with offences of criminal conspiracy, cheating and under other provisions of IPC. Out of the 13 accused, only Vijay Sai Reddy has been arrested so far and is currently under judicial custody.

The agency had filed a case in 2011 on the directives by the High Court. Jagan’s assets last year totalled Rs 365 crores.
