Police of Rayadurgam registered the case in connection with the stampede in the audio launch of the film at Rama Naidu studios on Sunday evening. One fan died in the stampede.
Cases were registered against Bandla Ganesh and others under section 304 (A).
Speaking to the media here on Sunday, Chandrasekhar said he would be sending his resignation letter to the party office and maintained that there were no specific reasons for quitting the party. He, however, said he would participate in the Telangana movement along with the JAC. He also said he would announce his future plan soon.
Meanwhile, reports said that he is likely to join the TRS. It is learnt that he left the TDP as he was denied the MLC
Thousands of fans of the hero descended on the Rama Naidu studio where the audio launch was scheduled. It became impossible for the police and the security staff to control the crowd.In the stampede that ensued, the fan from Warangal died.
NTR in tears
Soon after knowing about the incident, Jr. NTR was in tears. He took the mike and urged the mother of the fan to pardon him. He said nothing would replace what that mother lost and humbly urged that he and others of the unit be pardoned. Tears rolled down the cheeks of NTR when he spoke emotionally about the sad incident. He requested all the fans to reach home safely. He assured that he would ensure that no such incident would occur in future.
Rs. 5 lakh compensation
On knowing about the mishap producer Bandla Ganesh announced a monetary help of Rs. 5 to the victim’s family. Expressing sadness at the death of the fan, he said no help would bring back the life of the fan to their family members. Stating that all the unit members were unhappy about the mishap, he requested all the fans to reach home safely after the function. “If something happens to you, it would haunt us life long” he told the fans.
Vijaya Shanti threatens to boycott the film
Meanwhile, TRS MP Vijaya Santi expressed anger at the producers for not postponing the audio launch despite the death. Stating that this reflected the Seemandhra arrogance, Vijaya Santi said in a statement in Delhi, that they would give a call for the boycott of the film in the Telangana region.

With tear filled eyes NTR says that he is very happy when he came to the event, but he is quite upset and in deep sorrow after hearing about that unfortunate incident.
‘I’m the only son to my mother and used to feel sad that I don’t have any brothers or sisters. But god gave me brothers in the form of fans and the death of one such brother in an unfortunate incident is paining me severely’, said Jr NTR.
Though the young hero tried to control his emotions, tears almost rolled in his eyes while saying these lines. ‘I’m a heart in your fists and you are my heart in my fist’, said Junior NTR before giving a big promise to take care of that family.
NTR called the brother of dead fan onto the stage and promised him in front of thousands, ‘I’m their family’s big son and I will take care of their family’. Producer Bandla Ganesh assured that he will hand over five lakh rupees to his family tomorrow morning and will take care of that family forever.
‘If there are any mistakes from my side, please pardon me with a big heart’ concluded Jr NTR. Hundreds of fans also turned emotional with these statements of NTR, Sreenu Vytla and Ganesh.
