Share
Union minister Chiranjeevi gave a shock to the Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy on his power policy. He has strongly defended his former PRP colleague and the Endowments Minister C Ramachandraiah who lambasted the government and the Congress party for proposing to hike the electricity charges further.

Talking to the media, he said Ramachandraiah was correct in objecting to tariff hike, in view of the ensuing elections. He also said that the state government should rethink about the proposal. Stating that elections were not far off, he said it was not proper to burden the common man at this time.

He however supported hike in railway fares.

On MIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi’s remarks, he said law would take its course.

Kamal Hassan to drop DTH idea?

Share
Looks like Kamal Hassan had finaly yielded to their pressure and dropped the DTH Premiere idea. Kamal was so stubborn to go up with this idea but the repeated talks with theater owners could not change their stance of banning the movie in theaters. Finally, the movie release which was supposed to release on January 11th is now postponed to January 25th. The film will reportedly have a DTH release either on the same day of the theatrical release or some days after it.

Viswaroopam was more in discussion for the controversial DTH Premiere idea than the actual movie itself. To generate extra income for the big budget movie, Kamal had come up with the idea of screening of the movie in DTH few hours before the theatrical release. However, there was a stiff opposition from theater owners who feel this new idea will be a detriment to the theater collections.

Naughty beauty Amala amazed Nayak

Share
The moment Nayak is announced all eyes are on Magadheera pair Ram Charan and Kajal. When the film hit the screens many went mad over the beautiful chemistry between Cherry and Kajus.

However Ram Charan speaking to media said naughty beauty Amala Paul amazed him with her performance after much prodding. At first he was not willing to comeout of his preferences or analysis on the performances of both the heroines but later said “Oh! They are both fabulous actors and I get along very well with both of them. Kajal is a seasoned actress and we all know what a performer she is. But I was honestly surprised with Amala, as I had never worked with her before and was a little unsure as to how she would be. But as it turns out, she is very good,” .

He said dual role is a bit difficult in the sense with two heroines arround and getting right costumes. He says “I don’t think I’ve ever changed so many costumes for a movie, especially when shooting for the songs. I had to change my clothes every hour. We’d first shoot a sequence with Amala Paul and then change costumes for a sequence with Kajal. Then my director would say, ‘can we re-shoot that bit with Amala again?’ I don’t think I am acting in a two-heroine film again in the near future,”

Arc lights not on heroines

Share
Tollywood has given several movies which has strong heroine-oriented roles. The female actors in movies have strong character-based roles. However, the opposite also happens. The female actors are being used just for the purpose of mere skin show or adding sex appeal to the movie.

But most directors like to keep their focus on the heroines. However, in the upcoming movie Seetamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu, the unit members have revealed that the camera’s focus is hardly on the actress Anjali. Most of the time, the focus is on the actor Venky and other artists and hardly on Anjali.Everyone is clueless as to why the director Sreekanth Addala is actually doing this.

Grapevine whispers that this is because Anjali was doing extremely well that the director did not find it necessary to focus the camera on her expressions and performance. This may also be good news for Anjali as it is being observed that she has improved as an actor a great deal. Therefore, there did not arise any necessity to pay much attention to her. In fact, Anjali’s career graph is expected to rise up after this movie.

Prabhas’ popularity is on the Rise

Share
The new Tollywood star power, Prabhas, now has an increasing fan following. More and more youngsters are now following this new heartthrob, not to forget, his female fan following.

The position of the most popular male actor was occupied by the superstar Pawan Kalyan, closely followed by Jr NTR. But it seems that Prabhas is soon catching up. Prabhas’ latest film is Mirchi and the audio release function of this movie got a lot of crowd turn out. The audio release function of Prabhas’ Rebel was also a great crowd-puller. Even his other film functions are also a good crowd-pulling capacity, especially the female fan base.

The movie goers are expressing a lot of faith in Prabhas’ potential to become a Tollywood star power. His fame and popularity are rising to such an extent that he might end up being the next Pawan Kalyan.Prabhas made his debut with Eeshwar in Tollywood. Thereafter, he has acted in a lot of movies and won
the hearts of his viewers. His latest releases are Mirchi and Rebel. He is also supposedly doing another untitled movie with the famous director Rajamouli. He has won best actor award for more than one movie.

Can Seetamma beats Magadheera?

Share
It’s the unavoidable fact that, ‘Seethamma… ’ is the curiosity of the festival season. Now the collections of this film are the hot topic in the industry. The songs and trailers released already are the causers of this curiosity and high expectations on this multi starrer film. So it is evident that there will be super openings and any good talk about the film will leads to a long successful run of the movie. And now-a-days, the overseas collections have become another primary source of revenue for a Telugu film. There is a huge following for Venkatesh and Mahesh babu.

That too this is a complete family entertainer that promises great collections even abroad. So far, Magadheera has the record of highest collections as 90 crores in Telugu film history and it has been four years since its release. But this upcoming ‘SVSC’ is said to be capable of crossing the mark of 100 crores and will be the first film in Telugu to achieve this.

Can Bandodu’s six pack Tollywood records

Share
Ever since the mania of sixpack entered Tollywood by Allu Arjun in Desamudhuru, many heroes are after this body tone. Now it’s Junior’s turn. Jr. NTR was very stout at the beginning of his film career. But with lots of determination, he reduced his weight a lot in Yamadonga and shocked everyone with his new look. He became much thinner in Kantri and he maintained his physic from then.

Now it is heard that he is working out hard for a six pack body. Even a recent pic of his in internet confirms the news. This may for his upcoming film. Recently, the comedian turned hero Sunil entertained the Telugu viewers with his six pack body; Nagarjuna in damarakuram tried his best to show the packs, Mahesh tried but stopped his attempt unfinished. It will be good if all the Telugu heroes concentrate on their personalities along with the stories they choose. Now it has to be seen whether Bandodu’s six packs can break tollywood records shaking box office.

Grandfather Kamal directing Maniratnam’s grandson

Share
The director’s hero is none other than Ulaga Nayagan Kamal Haassan while the hero’s director is the maverick ManiRatnam. Yes Kamal is going to direct ManiRatnam’s son Nandan launching him through a Hollywood movie. Nandan son of ManiRatnam and Suhasini Mani Ratnam is going to debut as hero. Suhasini initially wanted her son to be a politician and serve the people. But in order to get the fame in public, cinema industry is the best platform, she gave a thought. Nandan is no one till now and has no reputation in public so far. Kamal is going to concentrate on this lad after his heavy project Vishwaroopam. Nandan might have learnt that Kamal Hassan is his grandfather as he is uncle to his mother Suhasini. Even there are good relations between Kamal and Maniratnam. That is why Mani wanted his son to be launched by the hands of god of acting. Complete details are yet to be out.

Tough time for Dil Raju

Share
Dil Raju is now facing a variety situation like he left the distribution rights of ‘Nayak’ in Nizam even after paying the advance. The core reason is he being the producer of ‘Seethamma.. ’. Coming to the details, it was heard from film nagar circles that Dil Raju took the nizam distribution rights for ‘Nayak’, but Ram Charan wanted his film to be released in highest number of theaters in Nizam, so Dil Raju planned to postpone his own film ‘Seethamma…’ for a week so that he can adjust the theaters for both the films, but knowing this, Mahesh gone furious on DilRaju and strictly warned not to postpone his film.

Hence, having no other way, Dil Raju left his distribution rights to Allu Aravind. It is reported that ‘Nayak’ is being released in 90 theaters in Hyderabad while multi starrer ‘SVSC’ got only 60 theaters in Hyderabad. Neither Ram Charan nor Mahesh babu got the expected number like 100 theaters for their long awaited films. Hence both seem very serious on Dil Raju for his double game. It seems like too much of business mind spoiled the game.

Your Review of Naayak:

Story: Cherry(Ram Charan) is a software Engineer and falls in love with Madhu(Kajal), sister of Local don Gandipet Babji(Rahul Dev). Babji doesn’t like that and decides to warn Cherry, then he witnesses cherry murdering DCP and steps back. Who is cherry? Why is he killing one by one forms the remaining story.

Performances: Ram Charan suited well to the role of Nayak(leader). His body language is good. He improved a lot in terms of performance also. Kajal is okay as heroine. Amala paul is passable. Jayprakash Reddy and Posani Krishna Murali impress more in the comedy department. Brahmanandam, Venumadhav, Raghu Babu, M.S are okay. The remaining supporting cast fitted to their roles well. Story is simple. It has been dragged with entertaining scenes. The screenplay is good. Dialogues are good. Music by Thaman is above Average with foot tapping numbers. Cinematography by Chota K. Naidu is good. Art work and Editing are neat. The Direction is good only in parts. Few scenes lacked depth. The Production values are Good.

Analysis: The much awaited action flick directed by V.V.Vinayak in the combination of Mega Powerstar Ramcharan was released today(first in the pongal race). The movie has all the ingredients of a mass flick. The mass Audience may like it more due the vast entertainment quotient. Ram Charan is Good in Action Scenes. His body language suited well to the role of Nayak. Even though he failed to show much variation between the two roles, he managed with the rock serious look. Kajal is okay. She looked glamorous and the chemistry between the lead pair looked good. Amala paul is passable. Some how she looked dull and her chemistry with Charan is poor. Brahmanandam entertains as usually with his typical body language. Jayprakash Reddy is hilarious. His role evoked good humour. Posani krishna Murali entertains in the second half. Rahul Dev, Raghu babu, Pradeep rawath, Ashish Vidyarthi, Surekha Vani, Rajeev kanakala are okay in their roles.

Sequence of Songs:

1. Laila O Laila
Singers: Shankar Mahadevan, Ranjith, Rahul Nambiar, Naveen
Lyrics: Chandrabose
This song is picturised on Charan as a Club song and Charan looked energetic with muscled body. He entertains with graceful steps. He danced well.

2. Oka Choopuke Padipoya
Singers: Vijay Prakash, Bindu Mahima
Lyrics: Bhaskarabhatla
Picturised on Kajal and Ram Charan on the streets in abroad locations. The song looked decent.

3. Kathi Lanti Pilla
Singers: Thaman S.S, Shefali Alvaris
Lyrics: Chandrabose
Picturised on Kajal and Charan in virgin locations. The locales are scenic and pleasing to eyes.

4 Subhaleka Rasukunna
Singers: Haricharan, Sreya Ghoshal
Lyrics: Late Veturi
Picturised on Amalapaul and Charan. The song starts with a slow pace. The first stanza is bit slow with frozen locations in the backdrop. Charan impresses with a couple of slow and graceful steps. The song gets into us only towards the ending which has snow filled icy locations of Iceland.

5. Nellorae
Singers: Jaspreeth Jasz, Suchitra
Lyrics: Sahithi
Charmee shakes her hips with Charan in this item song. The song is catchy and instant hit among the masses. Charan came up with a couple of good dance moves.

6. Hey.. Nayak
Singers: Sreya Ghoshal, Naveen
Lyrics: Chandra Bose
The song is picturised on Charan, Kajal, Amalapaul. The placement of the song is good and Lawrence choreographed it. It has rich grandeur. The VFX in the song are not so appealing.

Music by Thaman S.S is a plus to the film. All the songs sounded good and came out well on the screen too. Background score is also good in few(especially Nayak Theme)scenes. It literally elevated the image in some scenes. Cinematography by Chota is good. All the virgin locations of Iceland are well shot. They couldn’t be highlighted on the screen due to poor light. Chota has gone for more close-ups, even in the fights also. Art work is neat. Editing by Gowtham raju is neat, he managed most of the boring scenes with slick shots. Fights by Kannal kannan are filled more with thread work. Choreography was good, Dinesh master has done fine job and Lawrence was okay in the Climax song.

Story and Dialogues are by Siva Akula, he provided a wafer thin story line and that was narrated in beaten style(we have seen in many flicks).Dialogues are good. Siva managed to evoke good amount of humour and keep the Audience engaged with his Comedy punches all through. Some dialogues are witty and instantaneous. Some Trivikramish (“Nippu ani telisaka pattuko koodadu, Yedava ani Telisaka Pettuko koodadu”) punches also worked well. The complete first half goes on smoothly with entertaining scenes between Charan, Brahmanandam & Jayprakash Reddy. The second half also has ample entertainment in the form of posani Krishna Murali. The counseling scenes(even though we have witnessed such scenes in Srihari’s film) evoked good laughs in the theater.

The best part of the film is the combination of seriousness with Entertainment. Vinay scores good marks in the screenplay department rather than Direction. The screenplay is racy and no single frame looked boring. The Direction is good in few scenes. Some Scenes looked below Average. The Love Track between Charan and Kajal is not up to the mark, failed in generating romantic feel and also the track between Amala paul and Charan looked half baked. The fight episodes are filled more with rope work which appeal only to the masses. Vinayak couldn’t elevate the hero buildup scenes. Some scenes appeared routine (similar to Vinayak’s earlier films). The scenes which show how an ordinary man grows as a leader literally looked pale and below Average(substandard). The Climax could have been better. Overall Vinayak manages with his mass Pulse and speedy narration

It’s a treat to Mega fans and masses to see good Dances in the songs, Action and Entertainment. The Movie fares well at B, C Centers. We have to wait and see how the movie fares at the ‘A’ centers as there is big release(SVSC) queued up in a couple of days.

Plus: Songs, Dances, Entertainment
Minus: Wafer thin story, routine scenes

Verdict: Hit Delivered. It’s a package of Action, Dances and Entertainment. Paisa Vasool. Perfect film for masses in this festive season.
