Ram Charan takes on media

Share
If some thing or some one is most powerful and dangerous in the modern democracy, it is the media. Powerful politicians to mighty film stars no one would like to be in the bad books of the media. But the 4 movie old actor Ram Charan seem to have different ideas. He directly locked horns with the media in his speech at Nayak audio function with strongest of words.

“Just because Pawan babayi didn’t attend one of my functions, media had started speculating things. His absence doesn’t mean that he’s distanced from us. Our relations won’t be affected because a channel or newspaper wrote something bad. They can not wither away our 35 years of relationship by their writings. I treat them (media) like a strand of my hair (Naa Ventruka Tho Samanam).”

We will have to wait for the after-effects of this speech!

Movies with small budgets make it big

Share
Small budgets movies, which lack the frills of big-budget movies like lavish sets, designer clothes and star casts, have finally begun to find feet in the industry.

Recalling the days of producing Dollar Dreams, Sunitha Tati, the executive producer, narrated that they had promoted the film himself by requesting people to allow them to stick posters before the releaseand sold tickets themselves. Yet they had managed to get the movie released in only one theatre. Those were the pre-internet days but now movie promotion in Tollywood has changed drastically and for good.

The way in which internet has revolutionized film-promotion is amazing. The director of Routine Love Story, Praveen Sattaru, agrees that internet is the easiest and cheapest way to promote a movie, especially when a movie has no big stars to catch the attention of the viewers and the conventional modes of advertising cost a bomb. Talking about how he used social networking sites to promote hismovie, he emphasizes on the importance of a unique idea to create buzz about a small film. For his film, they made posters about whacky themes which tell what the movie is about and gave the tagline as“relationships are fun”. Their strategy proved successful when the movie got its tickets sold out before the actual release of the movie.

Similarly, the makers of Bangaru Kodipetta are conducting an online contest for the purpose of selecting people to feature in a promotional film. They are also launching a tag line contest for the film. Theywill also release behind-the-scenes shots to generate curiosity about the film. They have also created a journal in the graphic-novel style to show the happenings during the shooting. This has succeeded ingenerating great online response.

At the end of the day, the marketing is crucial. The promotions and the marketing have to have an impact upon the viewers for a movie to be financially successful. Movies like Ee Rojullo and Bus Stop, marketed similarly, reaped its benefits. Ee Rojullo had an audio launch with Allu Arjun as the chief guest which created a huge buzz and garnered a lot of public attention. Similar strategy was adopted for Bus
Stop.

Innovative ideas to grab eyeballs and the use of internet to create hype about the movie are must for the success of a movie.

Super Star in search of a girl

Share
On reading this statement, anyone can jump to the conclusion that it was stated by some young hero or a director about a heroine or his lost love. But you will be surprised to know that these are words of no ordinary person but Super star Rajini Kanth. He told this on the event of his 63rd birthday at a moment reminding an incident from the earlier stages of his career.

Can you guess who that girl is? It’s the girl who ever first took the autograph from Rajini Kanth. Apporva Ragangal was a Rajini starrer film that was released almost 30 years back. Rajini went to Krishnaveni theater in Chennai to watch the film on the day of its release. At that time, a little girl came to Rajini asking for his autograph. As there was no autograph book available, Rajini gave his autograph on the backside of the movie ticket. “I haven’t forgotten that moment and I never will” said Rajini. And he continued “she might be a woman now and I have been waiting for past 30 years to meet her again” and he is confident that he would meet her sometime in his life again.

Rana’s 6 in a row

He is going to do 6 films in 2013 and starting with which film is not finalized though. These 6 films includes tamil, telugu and Hindi films.

Rana is one such hero in Tollywood, who tries to experiment various genres of films. His earlier work in dum maro dum and department, bagged him another two projects in Hindi. One is Aditya Battacharya’s and another is Ayan Mukerjee’s. Rana is playing a prominent role in Ajith, Nayanatara, Aarya, Tapsi starrer tamiil film under the direction of Vishnuvardhan (Panja fame).

This hunk recently scored good marks and acclaims from critics from his energetic performance in KVJ, promising a quality hero for the industry.

Ram Charan turns ‘Ram Charan’

Share
Ram Charan Tej is a hero who needs no more introduction as son of Mega star Chiranjeevi. One of his future recent ventures is titled as ‘Ram Charan’. This time it is not for Telugu audience but for tamil screens. Coming to details, Genilia is the female lead, Bommarillu Bhaskar is the director and music by Haaris Jayraj.
These details might have reminded you about the film ‘Orange’ which was released a couple of years earlier in Telugu. Yes Orange is being dubbed into Tamil this time with the title ‘Ram Charan’. Ram Chanran is a known face in Tamilnadu from the Tamil dubbed Magadheera which entertained tamilians as well. In order to use the image of Charan, the dubbing producers decided on this title with the name of the hero.

These kinds of business tricks are not new to Tollywood. After the success of Telugu dubbed Aparichitudu, many old movies of Vikram were dubbed and released in Telugu with the names like Vikram’s ‘Remo’ just to encash the craze of the recent blockbuster of stars. Ofcourse most of them scared the audience. Now its our turn in Tamil land.

This film may boost the image of Ram Charan in Kollywood. Recently the audio launch for Ram Charan was held. Except the music director, Haaris Jayraj no one else from the project attended that event.

The award that missed Rajamouli

Share

Rajamouli is the only qualified director among the directors of Tollywood today in every aspect. He proved his mettle by making the films like Magadheera, Eega where other directors won’t even dare to dream about. He is an inspiration to many Hindi and Tamil directors too. After Eega that made a nationwide buzz, irrespective of language, whole nation awaits for his films now. That is why this genious was recently nominated for prestigious CNN-IBN awards. This award is given to various talents throughout the country every year. This year, Irfan khan, Sridevi, Vidya Balan, Ranjbir Kapoor were nominated in the entertainment category, all are from north. Rajamouli was the only nominee from the south.

Unfortunately, Rajamouli lost the award to Irfaan khan for his outstanding performances in the world cinema ‘The amazing spiderman’, ‘Life of Pie’. It is little sad to know our Rajamouli couldn’t bag the award. But it is no loss to this maverick filmmaker, who got the talent to compete in Oscar race one day or the other.

That is why we can say that the award missed Rajamouli. What say?

Telangana possible, if KCR family commits suicide

Share
The formation of Telangana state is possible only if Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhara Rao commits suicide along with all his family members.

This was the strange observation made by firebrand YSR Congress party leader and former minister Konda Surekha. Flagging off a padayatra to extend solidarity with Y S Sharmila in Parkal constituency of Warangal district, Surekha alleged that KCR was building up his party over the dead bodies of Telangana martyrs.

“If KCR comes out of his farm house, Telangana agitation begins and he goes back to his sleep in the farm house, the agitation subsides. It has become a practice for KCR to kick up agitations and take the lives of a few innocent Telangana youth, and later goes back into hiding after bargaining with Sonia for financial package,” she alleged.

Surekha demanded that the TRS president should disclose in how many days he would fetch Telangana state, if YSR Congress party gives its consent for separate state. She said all the political parties should send only one representative each to the all-party meeting on Telangana.
