Contractors praying for Nilam Destruction

Andhra Pradesh will always be experiencing heavy rains and cyclones during November-December every year. Common people in and around coastal areas are experiencing the wrath of cyclones and they were put up to hardships with Govt officials not getting their act together even after experiencing so many cyclones every year.

People allege that there is a nexus between Govt officials and business establishments so that they can make money even during disaster rather than work for the efficient disaster management system. Coastal districts in the state suffered huge losses with roads and rail bridges washed out and govt buildings collapsing. Contractors are praying for immense destruction so that they can get more contracts from which they can make huge amounts of money.

It is a known fact that Govt issues orders to contractors to finish off projects and damaged roads etc on war footage. They even get funds from Govt instantly and those who have good contacts with Govt officials will be awarded contracts.

Buzz is while people and Govt officials are happy that the destruction caused by Nilam cyclone is not that monstrous, Contractors are saddened with the news are they wont be getting any contracts from which they can make money.

Mahesh does not pick left overs

Gautham Menon’s trilingual (Telugu- Tamil-Hindi) project with superstar Mahesh Babu in the main lead is not the project left by Tamil actor Vijay as rumoured. Yohan is the title of the project of Gautam Menon and Vijay but it did not materialize. Gautam Menon is still fine tuning the script, says that the film is not Yohan as speculated.

Gautham adds that he shall announce the title and more details of the film once he completes writing the script. Mahesh Babu is currently wrapping up on Seethamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu and another untitled film directed by Sukumar.

Damarukam finally releasing

Finally, the airs of confusion regarding the release of Nagarjuna’s Damarukam are cleared. The film is all set for release on November 9. The movie was supposed to release on October 24; however, it was postponed due to the bad finances of the makers. But now it looks like everything has fallen in to place. The censor formalities of the film have already been completed and it has been given a U/A certificate.The film is carrying positive reports in the industry and it’s expected to do quite well at box office.

Damarukam is directed by Srinivas Reddy and produced by Dr Venkat under RR Movie Makers banner. Devi sri Prasad is music director. Cinematography is by Chota K Naidu.Anushka is once again pairing opposite Nagarjuna.

Cyclone helped Mani Ratnam

Cyclone Nilam had many people homeless and foodless. It even killed few people in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu but one person was able to encash this hurricane.

When the cyclone stormed, Mani Ratnam made use of Nilam and shot some vital scenes which he actually had to shoot in such climatic settings. Sources say that Mani Ratnam and his crew shot some scenes near Kasimedu and Royapuram surroundings in the cyclone.

Aravind Swami, who is playing an important role in the film confirmed this news by sharing on his micro blogging site. “Awesome experience of shooting in cyclonic weather in the sea for a sequence in Kadal,” (sic) he posted. Kadal is set in the backdrop of the lives of fishermen.The film features debutant Gautham Karthik, son of actor Karthik and debutant Thulasi Nair, daughter of Radha in the lead roles. The film will be a dubbed Telugu release as Kadali.

Daggubati scion Rana who made his grand debut with Sekhar Kammula’s Leader could not attain the much required success. He even ventured in to Bollywood but his career graph showed no signs of revival. His next movie Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum is getting ready for release. The movie is slated to release on November 9th. But Nagarjuna’s Damarukam is also releasing on the same day. With two big movies on the same day, the openings are bound to divide and decrease.

Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum trailers and audio are very promising. Audience have good expectations on the movie as it has director Krish in its ranks. We will have to see if Rana moves away from 9th.

Ram Charan confirmed in Khaidhi remake

Released in 1983, director Kodandarami Reddy’s Khaidi was turning point in Chiranjeevi’s career. With Khaidi, he firmed up his position as leading actor. Few days ago, when the remake of this movie was announced, the curiosity among fans and film enthusiasts reached peaks. Speculations are on regarding who could be the main lead in the movie. And now we hear that it is Chiranjeevi’s son, Ram Charan who will play the main lead in the remake of Khaidhi. Harish Shankar who delivered the biggest hit of this year in the form of Gabbar Singh will direct it.

Mahesh – Sukumar movie progress details

Super Star Mahesh’s upcoming movie under the direction of Sukumar had recently completed a schedule in Goa. Few important scenes and song were shot in the movie. Mahesh had joined the team of SVSC to complete his left over portions of the movie. He will completely focus on Sukumar movie after the completion of SVSC. The third schedule of Sukumar movie will begin from November 20th in Hyderabad. After completion of this schedule, the movie unit will fly to a 40 days schedule to Hungary and Germany. There they will shoot some crucial portions of talkie and 2 songs.

Anil Sunkara, Gopichand and Ram Achanta are producing the film under 14 Reels Entertainments banner. Devi Sri Prasad is composing the music. Rathnavelu is cranking the camera.

Meher Ramesh ‘dubara’ completes in Malaysia

Meher Ramesh’s short career as director is marred by several controversies. The success moments are very less even though he managed to work with stars like Prabhas and NTR. After delivering a colossal flop in the form of Shakthi, he managed to get Venkatesh movie. He decided to opt out writing his stories and brought Kona Venkat team for Shadow.

However, the director is not changing any more. He is still keen on burning Producer’s pockets unnecessarilly. The budget of Shadow had crossed 30 Crore mark and the project is not commercially feasible as Venky is in the verge of his career ending. The entire crew of Shadow had just returned from Malaysia. The movie shooting is complete except for a song and some talkie part. The next schedule of the movie will begin in Ramoji Film city and Hyderabad surroundings very soon.

Hollywood director Ang Lee was here in Chennai for promoting his upcoming film “Life Of Pi”. A popular TV channel had roped in the director and Universal hero Kamal Hassan for an interview together. Our hero too saw the exclusive 3-D footage of Life of Pi and has loved it. The session was attended by several prominent filmmakers from the South. Kamal Haasan is known to be a huge fan of Lee’s cinema and was thrilled to meet him to discuss filmmaking.

But the latest we hear is that after the two stars finished the interview for a channel, director Ang lee was awe struck with the way Kamal Haasan interviewed him. He was so happy that the legend knew so much about him and his films so far. The Hollywood director said, ” I am totally stunned by Kamal Haasan’s brilliance. I never thought that he would know so much about me and my films.Inspired would be the word. He is not only an amazing actor but a great human being who knows everything about world class cinema. I am happy to have interviewed by him. ” Not only this, the director visited Kamal’s office and saw the actor’s upcoming movie trailer – Vishwaroopam. Post seeing the trailer, the director revealed that – ” A person who is not aware of the language too can understand the movie. Its totally stunning. I am sure this movie will be a huge hit.” Well, this clearly shows Kamal is truly an Universal Hero and the entire Cine Industry is proud to have him!

The actor had reportedly decided to stop drinking and smoking on the advice of doctors. Since the nerve trouble, they actor seem to have grown health conscious.

Botsa’s daughter wedding shows who is the Boss!

He being the MLA and Minister and his wife, two time MP with all his family members in liquor business in Vijayanagaram, he has immense political clout and nothing moves in and out with out him getting prior information. Yesterday his daughter Anusha’s wedding was celebrated in a spectacular manner and those who were at the glittering ceremony were seen discussing that entire wedding was sponsored by State Govt!

Entire political fraternity graced the function and onlookers allege that officials of the transport department, starting from brake inspectors to the transport commissioner level, had to make huge contributions for the wedding arrangements. Insiders reveal that “The brake inspectors were given specific targets to mobilise funds for the wedding. The total expenditure of the wedding is anywhere nearer to Rs 25 crore; and one can imagine the kind of fleecing the transport department employees had to make to mobilise these funds,”.

The transport department took away hundreds of luxury cars from travel agencies in Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam to be used for transportation of VIPs for the wedding. Already some people have complained against this blatant misuse of power and it is a good opportunity for opposition to go hammer and tongs.

Red lights on silver screen

Indian silver screen has seen many redlights which fascinated movie lovers time and again. Film makers to bring out their creativity chose only the roles of prostitutes to gain the imagination of all believing that the role has great scope for performance.

These red light roles in tollywood gained popularity with Anushka sizzling as Amalapuram Saroja in ‘Vedam’. Her expressions gave sleepless nights to movie lovers during that time. Now according to latest information Charmi is donning the role of a call girl in ‘Prema Oka Maikam’ under Chandu’s direction. Even Shriya is all set to sizzle as red light beauty under the direction of writer turned director Janardhana Maharshi in ‘Pavithra’. Tabu earlier awestruck all in her role opposite Balakrishna in ‘Pandurangadu’.

Bollywood is nothing new for these roles as Kareena is coming with ‘Talaash’. She earlier attracted all as ‘Chameli’. Rani Mukherjee did so in Mangal Pandey and Cheeni Mein Daag. Sushmitha Sen did in ‘Chingari’. However unless the film has a strong storyline, one can not expect all the red light roles to be successful and bring stardom to star beauties. Hope stars and film makers realize this before going ahead with the new films on red light beauties.

Brahmins must felicitate Manchu family

Tollywood film makers for long have been under the impression that comedy and entertainment in films invariable should involve making fun of Brahmins. They had a strong belief that any successful storyline should have a Brahmin role donned by a comedian who will be bashed by the main roles and made fun of by one and all. People were witness to Brahmin roles getting beaten or doing unwanted things, trying to get favors from reddys and naidus in the films and even perform rituals singing film songs in the same of mantras. They were shown as uneducated, novices about their own rituals. Brahmanandam, MS.Narayana, Iron Leg Shastri played many such roles. Roles of Iron Leg Sastry getting kicked at the back in each of the film would have surely hurt Brahmins.

However film makers know that Brahmins are very timid and will not protest even if their feelings are hurt. Mohan Babu made ‘Denikaina Ready’ with Manchu Vishnu with the same impression. The film crossed all its limits when they showed powerful ritual like ‘Chandi Homam’ being performed by a muslim and all others including Dharmavarapu unaware of any traditional rituals. AVS wife was shown as remembering every touch of any male to that of her husband. Even then protests would have died down had Mohan Babu kept quiet. But he insulted Brahmins saying they are beggars and not Brahmins and he would give them alms.

As it this was not enough his son Vishnu beat them black and blue uniting them to the core. Brahmins for the first time like other castes showed their power and film makers will think twice before making fun of them. For that Brahmins should felicitate Manchu family as they played important role in uniting them rather than do ‘pinda pradanams’ or abuse them.

Will passage of time solve Telangana?

Cong and UPA Govt stand on telangana is quite clear from the beginning. Except for the haphazard statement by P.Chidambaram on Dec 9th, it just wanted to time pass on the whole issue hoping that tempers in telangana would die down sooner or later. That was the reason why Cong and Union Govt is taking people and telangana parties for a ride in the name of committees and discussions, all party meets.

Even when TRS chief KCR camped in Delhi for more than 20days it did not budge showing who the boss is. It sent many strong signals that telangana formation is not child’s play and require lot of consultations. Various union ministers reiterated that Country’s future should be kept in mind before taking a decision on telangana.

Now Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde said only time will solve telananga and there is no specific time frame for the solution. He said he is unaware of TDP chief Chandra Babu Naidu’s letter to PM seeking all party meet on telangana. He said Govt will take suggestions of all on telangana.Many are left wondering whether this kind of callous attitude from Center on such a burning problem will solve the issue in any manner. Telangana parties are already furious over the statements.

Death of leaders leaving TDP in doldrums

Andhra Pradesh’s leading opposition party TDP which is looking for a resurgence with its President Chandra Babu Naidu prestigiously taking on 117day padayatra received huge jolt when one of itsd top leader, polit bureau member , former Union Minister Yerrran Naidu passed away in a tragic road accident. It was a huge irreparable loss to the party, reflected in CBN’s statements that he lost his right hand. During NTR’s regime he enjoyed superstardom in the party along with his son in laws. However once CBN took over the reigns his shine decreased a bit.

After CBN took over the party reigns, TDP went into doldrums as top leaders like Balayogi, Madhav Reddy lost their lives in accidents. While Balayogi lost his life in a helicopter crash, Madhav Reddy was shot dead by Naxals. Even Paritala Ravi, Devineni Uma lost their lives in a tragic manner. After Madhav Reddy’s death, TDP hasn’t seen another powerful leader in telangana. It has to be seen how the party will come out of this tragic situation when its opponents are out to wipe out the party in from the political map of the state. AP’s politics is undergoing lot of change and it has to be seen where it will lead to.

Purpose of two yatras

Currently state of Andhra Pradesh is witnessing two pada yatras by two powerful opposition political parties. Both of them are requesting people not to see similarities between the two yatras. TDP leaders are requesting people saying that while their leader Chandra Babu Naidu’s padayatra is to wipe out the tears of poor and down trodden, their opponent Sharmila’s yatra is corrupt yatra to deceive people.They are reminding that during YSR regime, more than 14000 farmers committed suicides and due to high interest rates more women died due to suicides. They alleged that YSR and his family looted public money for their personal benefits.

YSRCP party allege that TDP and its president Chandra Babu is famous for twisting his tongue and speak in two languages on while in power and the other while in opposition. They say he is all free Babu who promise heaven to poor during elections and later forget them for the next five years. They even cite his comments as example and even highlight the nexus of both TDP and Cong in sending their party leader Jagan to jail.
Now it has to be seen whom people will believe and for whom they cast their votes in 2014 elections.

Letter for TDP’s derecognition

TDP’s MLA Chinnam Ramakotayya from Nuziveedu, Krishna District in a press conference said that he is writing to Election Commission to derecognize the party for asking stalling him from using his fundamental rights given by Indian Constitution. He said after getting electing for the party from the constituency in 2009 he participated in various programs of the party but still some of his opponents started working against him since 2011.

Even when he bought it to the notice of President Chandra Babu he asked him to be patient but did not take any steps to solve the problem. He alleged that though the party has taken a decision to stay away from voting during presidential elections, he as per election norms participated and cast his vote. He said from then on there were reports that he would be suspended from the party for his voting, and when he asked Chandra Babu, till now he did not reply even to his letter. He alleged that some leaders are telling him that they would write letter to speaker seeking his disqualification.

He requested EC to derecognize the party since it is going against the rules of the constitution.

RGV-makes money on others tears

One look at Ram Gopal Varma’s films shows that he is more keen on creating hype and gain immense media attention rather than deal with the subjects in the most realistic manner telling only the unknown facts in the real life incidents. He is interested in sensationalizing the whole issue rather than deal with it in a professional manner unlike his Hollywood counter parts.

All his films right from Shiva, Govinda Govinda,Raktha Charitra, Katha Screenplay Direction Appalaraju, ‘Bezawada’ only glorified crime rather than deal with the facts. He takes a point from the real life incidents and exaggerates the whole episode but brand it as a real life story. Now he is coming up with one more film ‘Stalker’ directed by his protégé Kishore Bhargav.

RGV says the story is a true life incident involving Kangana Ranaut sister Rangoli in 2006 during which she was attacked by a stalker with acid. While sources say Kangana narrated the incident during Department shooting, her sister Rangoli said “Kangana has never spoken to Ram Gopal Varma about my acid attack. We’re not aware of anyone making a film on the incident. If someone is doing so without our consent, we’ll take legal action.” RGV was quick to wash off his hands saying “I’m not associated with Stalker. Kishore, who was my assistant, is making the film based on media reports on stalking.”

Any ‘Mega’ family presents in offing?

Megastar Chiranjeevi finally fulfilled his long lasting dream of becoming a minister and wielding power. Any person will enter politics to ultimately achieve power and Chiranjeevi attained it with in three years is itself an achievement. Many politicians are in politics nurturing dreams for years and even spent a life time and some couldn’t fulfill their dream. Though he achieved this by merging his party with Congress, that is immaterial now as his ambition is achieved.

Megastar’s family is always powerful in Tollywood and now one wonder whether he is bringing any presents on the happy and momentous occasion to his mega family members. Already his son Ram Charan is making Bollywood debut and now that he is a Minister, more Bollywood offers will surely come in his way. Chiru is also having plans to open film studio in Vizag and it will be sanctioned immediately.

It has to be seen whether it will be confined to it there or will extend to his family members also.Nagababu and Allu Arjun are there and one has to wait and see whether Chiru encourage Allu Arjun to make Bollywood debut. His brother in law Allu Aravind wields enough power and will surely gain. Even Cherry’s father in law Apollo Groups CMD may find favors from Union Govt. Interesting one to watch is whether Chiru will present something to his brother Powerstar Pawan Kalyan. And if so what?
