Yester year Bollywood actress Sharmila Tagore had converted to Islam after she married cricketer Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi. And now looks like Kareena is all set to follow Sharmila’s foot steps as she is very soon going to marry Saif Ali Khan. October 16th is reportedly the wedding date and it was rumoured in Bollywood that Kareena will be converting to Islam before the marriage ceremony.

Sharmila Tagore had donned the name Ayesha Begum after the conversion. It has to be seen if Kareena also changes her name.

Now a days people are used to hearing the word records, collections etc and many are left wondering whether they are really true or it is just a hype created by the film makers. Even if these records turn out to be true in any particular film, the film will be screened for not more than two to three weeks. It will continue its journey only if another film doesn’t come in its way carrying a good talk. Now a days people completely forgot the words ‘golden jubilee’, ‘silver jubilee’. Even 100 days is becoming a rarity. Some try to find comfort in the fact that while during olden days if a film celebrates 100 days, it comes to three shows per day for 100 days. It adds to 3×100=300 shows over all. Now a days if a film is released in 10 theaters and 4 shows per day, in a week 280 shows would be completed. But all this is number jumbling. For the entire first week only fans watch the film and the fate of the film would be decided in the second week during which people decide whether to watch the film or not going by reviews and mouth talk. Film makers are not concerned about all these but are releasing the film with more number of prints and rake money.

In 1977 NTR starrer ‘Adavi Ramudu’ celebrated 100 days in 32 centers. Dasara Bullodu completed 100 days in 22 centers , 200 days in 4 centers. Its first week collections came upto Rs 10, 68000. But all these were not considered as victories. Lavakusa which was released in 1963 in 26 centers celebrated 100 days and even on its second release it created a sensation. It is the first film to have collected one crore. But it happened in 14 weeks. But current 100crs is no match to Lavakusa’s one crore 80yrs back. This shows that Lavakusha record is unbreakable even now as it is the only film which is widely watched whenever it is screened.

They are eying no less than minimum 25 crs on the first day and are banking on Cherry’s following in AP. Salman’s Ek Tha Tiger created the record with Rs 35 crs collections on opening day. It has to be seen how much Cherry can collect with his fire power.

The First look pictures of Allu Sirish’s debut movie, Gauravam were released to media on Wednesday. Sirish was seen in a skin tight tee exposing his strong biceps and in khaki pant. The makers are taking care that the looks of the actor gets accepted before the movie release. But despite the good still, people’s focus gets shifted to the Vankara Moothi of Sirish in the pictures. Sirish is having the problem of Teeth disarray which had caused the deformation in his jaw. He had been using braces for quite some time to solve the problem.

The movie shooting is 50% complete. The next schedule of the movie will begin in Kanya Kumari very soon. Critically acclaimed director Radha Mohan is directing thsi film and versatile character artiste Prakash Raj is the producer. The movie is a bilingual and B.V.S. Ravi is working on the script for the Telugu version. Music is being scored by Thaman.

Many films in Tollywood may not win awards or attract the attention of other regions. But there are many tollywood films which proved inspiration to B-Town and their top stars reviving the career of many. Bollywood which previously look down south films as ‘sambar-avakaya’ films started appreciating the creativity and are competing with each other to bag the remake rights of successful films. TOp to stay in the list is Salman Khan who after his Dabang success is starring in ‘Kick’. This is the remake of Mass Maharaja Raviteja’s ‘Kick’. Sallu Miya regained his form with Prince Mahesh Babu’s ‘Pokiri’ which he remade it as ‘Wanted’.

Though Amir did not remake a telugu film, his ‘Ghajani’ is a remake of Surya starrer. Even action hero Akshay Kumar who till now used to star in malayalee remakes like ‘Hera Feri’, ‘Bhool Bhulaya’, ‘Bhagam Bhag’, ‘Hey Baby’ and “Katta Meeta’, scored a stunning hit with ‘Rowdy Rathore’ a remake of tollywood superhit ‘Vikramarkudu’ starring Ravi Teja. Buzz is now he is planning to remake Chiranjeevi’s ‘Tagore’. Ajay Devgan also scored a hit with ‘Singham’ a remake of Surya starrer. Now he is starring in ‘Son of Sardar’, a remake of Sunil’s ‘Maryada Ramanna’. His upcoming venture ‘Himmatwala’ is remake of Super Star Krishna’s ‘OOriki Monagadu’. Even Sanjay Dutt is starring in remakes of ‘Dhee’ and then in Balakrishna’s ‘Lakshmi Narasimha’ remake. Even Ritesh Deshmukh, Shreyas Talpade and Shahid Kapoor are getting ready to follow their seniors who set the trend of remaking tollywood films.

Everyone knows family hero Srikanth is the die hard fan of Mega Star Chiranjeevi. He fulfilled his dream of acting with Chiru, by making his presence felt when he shared the screen presence with Megastar in ‘Shankar Dada Zindabad’ and also in its sequel. Now much to the delight of Srikanth none other than Power Star Pawan Kalyan announced in full public gaze that Srikanth is one of the mega brothers.

He said he never expected and had his own doubts on Pawan gracing his film ‘Devaraya’ audio launch as Pawan did not even celebrate ‘Gabbar Singh’ success. However he delighted all making the function a grand one with his presence.

Tollywood Jakkana creation ‘Eega’ might have signed off on a high note from silver screen across the world but everyone knew the lasting impression it created on movie lovers. Still people and kids rave about ‘Eega’ and many have already made up their mind to watch the film’s 3D version as and when it hits the screens.

In the mean time King Nag is coming with powerful ‘Damarukam’ in hand along with Anushka and he says his mission is to erase ‘Eega’ memories from the minds of people. Speaking at the audio launch he said that ‘Damarukam’ will erase ‘Eega’ from the memories of movie lovers. He said ‘Damarukam’ special effects will be thousand times more better and extravagant than ‘Eega’ which set the trend for others to follow.

One wonder why Nag with his ‘Damarukam’ is targeting ‘Eega’. Many feel since he spoke about Damarukam on a high note it wont be the fault of movie lovers if they start dissecting each and every scene of Damarukam with that of Eega before passing their judgement. Expectations will increase enormously with may or may not work in its favor. It has to be seen whether ‘Damarukam’ will be successful on its mission ‘Eega’.
