Rajpal Yadav in Tihar Jail, Bollywood Stars Extend Support

Share

Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav, widely recognized for his comic roles and unique style, recently found himself in the news due to a legal issue stemming from a cheque bounce case dating back to 2010. The actor was lodged in Tihar Jail after failing to repay a debt of ₹9 crore, which included funds borrowed for his directorial debut Ata Pata Laapata. Despite repeated opportunities given by the magistrate, Rajpal was unable to meet the repayment obligations and consequently surrendered to the court. He was sentenced to six months in jail and is currently serving his term.

During this difficult period, several Bollywood personalities have come forward to support Rajpal. Actor Sonu Sood, known for his philanthropic work, was among the first to step in, offering Rajpal a role in an upcoming film and providing financial assistance. Following him, big-ticket names such as Salman Khan, Ajay Devgn, and Varun Dhawan also extended their support, pledging financial help upon learning about his situation. Other notable figures, including actor Gurmeet Choudhary and politician Tej Pratap Yadav, national president of Jan Shakti Janata Dal, have also offered assistance. Music producer Rao Inderjeet Singh Yadav, owner of GemTunes Music, joined in supporting the cause as well.

Rajpal’s manager, Goldie, confirmed that numerous Bollywood artists and technicians have voluntarily reached out to provide all possible help to secure his release. His bail plea is scheduled for another hearing on Thursday, and both his family and industry colleagues are optimistic that he will be granted bail this time.

Laya Makes Comeback with Sivaji’s Sampradayini Suppini Suddhapusani

Share

Former Tollywood actress Laya, who quietly stepped away from films over a decade ago and settled in the US, is now making a return to the spotlight. After regaining attention through her popular dance reels shared from the United States, she is set to make her comeback with Sivaji’s Sampradayini Suppini Suddhapusani.

In a recent interview, Laya fondly recalled her experience working with Nandamuri Balakrishna, with whom she had earlier shared screen space in the 2004 film Vijayendra Varma. She said, “Balakrishna is the most professional and easy-to-work-with star. He keeps the atmosphere light on the sets and always makes everyone laugh. He is extremely disciplined and a very talented co-star.” Laya also expressed her hope to collaborate with him again in the future.

With several senior heroes now keen on working with experienced actresses, Laya could be a fitting choice opposite Balakrishna, especially given his history of double-role entertainers. While it remains to be seen if such a collaboration materializes, her re-entry project Tammudu may not have made a significant impact, but she is hopeful that Sivaji’s web film will help her make a strong impression once again. A successful outing could pave the way for bigger projects.

Laya had earlier made a notable mark in Tollywood with hits like Swayamvaram, Manoharam, and Preminchu, where her portrayal of a blind girl earned widespread acclaim. Known for choosing content-driven roles over glamour, she moved to the US after marrying a doctor. Now, she returns to the industry with renewed enthusiasm and a clear focus on meaningful projects.

Anudeep K.V. to Direct Lady-Oriented Film After Comedy Hits

Share

Young director Anudeep K.V. has already made a mark with his unique brand of comedy. He first caught attention with Pittagoda, though it didn’t reach a wide audience. His breakthrough came with Jathi Ratnalu, which not only became a massive hit but also earned him recognition among industry insiders and audiences alike. The success of Jathi Ratnalu even opened the doors for him to work with Kollywood star Shiva Karthikeyan on Prince, though that film failed to make a significant impact.

Anudeep is now set to return with Funky, starring Vishwak Sen. Early promotional materials have already generated strong buzz, and the film promises to be a comedy entertainer inspired by real-life characters. With these three films, Anudeep has firmly established himself as a comedy director.

However, there’s another side to Anudeep that many don’t know. He has expressed interest in exploring a variety of genres, including horror and action, and has hinted that every upcoming project will offer something different. Recently, he revealed an exciting new direction: he is planning a lady-oriented film. This has shocked fans and sparked curiosity online, with many wondering if the project will be a comedy or a more serious narrative.

The lead actress for this project is expected to be extremely fortunate, as working with a director like Anudeep is an unusual opportunity. Given his comic sensibilities, actors often find it easy to sync with his style if they are naturally funny themselves. Fans are now speculating whether he might cast Faria Abdullah, who impressed audiences in Jathi Ratnalu, or choose someone entirely new for this female-centric project.

With this revelation, Anudeep has once again intrigued his followers, proving that he is ready to push creative boundaries beyond comedy while keeping audiences eagerly guessing about his next move.

IN-SPACe Selects Dhruva, Astrome & Azista for Indigenous Small Satellite Bus Initiative

Share

India’s space regulator, the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre (IN-SPACe), has selected Dhruva Space, Astrome Technologies, and Azista Industries to develop indigenous small satellite bus platforms under its Satellite Bus as a Service (SBaaS) initiative. Each company will receive a grant of ₹5 crore to support the development and demonstration of modular, scalable satellite buses capable of hosting multiple payloads.

The SBaaS initiative was announced in April 2025 through an Announcement of Opportunity inviting proposals from Indian non-governmental entities. By July 2025, IN-SPACe had received fifteen proposals, and three companies were shortlisted following a rigorous multi-stage evaluation process. Contracts with the selected firms were signed on February 11, officially launching the program.

Pawan Goenka, Chairman of IN-SPACe, described the initiative as a crucial step toward building a robust, sustainable, and globally competitive small satellite manufacturing ecosystem in India. “By enabling indigenous satellite bus platforms and integrating them with India’s emerging small satellite launch capabilities, we are laying the foundation for India to become a preferred global destination for end-to-end small satellite manufacturing, launch, and hosted payload services,” he said.

IN-SPACe stated that the platforms developed under the SBaaS program will provide cost-effective, standardized solutions for both domestic and international customers seeking hosted payload services. Grants will be disbursed in milestones, and the selected companies will gain access to infrastructure, testing facilities, and technical expertise from the Department of Space and ISRO as required.

Recently, IN-SPACe also signed a concession agreement with Pixxel and Allied Orbits, a special-purpose vehicle led by a Pixxel consortium, to establish an Earth Observation constellation under a public-private partnership framework, further strengthening India’s small satellite ecosystem.

Google Introduces Tool to Remove Explicit Images and Sensitive Info from Search

Share

Google has strengthened privacy features on Search, making it easier for users to remove non-consensual explicit images and sensitive personal information, including driver’s licenses, passports, or Social Security numbers.

Users can now click the three dots next to an image in Search, select “Remove result,” and then choose “It shows a sexual image of me.” Multiple images can be selected in a single request, eliminating the need to report each image individually. Google also allows users to opt into proactive safeguards that help block similar explicit content from appearing in future searches.

The updated “Results about you” tool lets users create a monitoring profile by entering personal information they want Google to track, such as full name, home address, phone number, email, and sensitive IDs. After reviewing and confirming the details, Google automatically scans Search results for matches.

If the user’s information is found, they receive a notification via the app or email and can request removal directly through the tool. All requests can be tracked in the “Results about you” hub. Google assures that all data is encrypted and protected under its high-security protocols, giving users more control over their personal information and stronger safeguards against misuse online.

NTR-Prashanth Neel’s Dragon to Release in Two Parts in 2027

Share

Exciting news has emerged about the highly anticipated collaboration between NTR and Prashanth Neel, Dragon. The film is set to be released in two parts, with the first installment slated for a 2027 summer release.

The second part is expected to follow within three months, adopting a back-to-back release strategy similar to the model used for Dhurandhar.

This approach is aimed at keeping audience engagement high, maintaining momentum, and maximizing the film’s theatrical potential across regions. According to the makers, splitting the film into two parts serves two key purposes. Firstly, the story’s vast scale and intricate narrative demand a detailed cinematic treatment.

Secondly, from a financial perspective, dividing the project helps manage rising production costs and interest, ensuring a more feasible path to breakeven while sustaining hype among fans.

In an official statement, GVCW said that effective 12 February 2026, all Visa Application Centres for Greece in India will resume operations. Applicants have been advised to book their appointments through the official platform and ensure that all required documentation is prepared before visiting the centres. GVCW is the authorised service provider for Greece visas in India.

Travellers need to complete the online visa application and visit a Visa Application Centre for biometrics and document submission. The application form should be filled online through the GVCW website. Applicants must carry a passport valid for at least three months beyond the intended travel date with at least two blank pages, two recent passport-sized photographs, confirmed return flight tickets, accommodation proof, travel insurance with minimum coverage of €30,000 valid across all Schengen countries, bank statements for the last three to six months, salary slips, Income Tax Returns, and a cover letter explaining the purpose of travel.

Appointments at GVCW Visa Application Centres in cities such as New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, and others must be booked in advance. The total cost, including service charges, typically ranges between ₹8,000 and ₹14,890 depending on the services selected. Visa application status can be tracked online through the GVCW website.

Applications can be submitted up to six months before the intended travel date, and processing usually takes around 15 days. Travellers are advised to apply well in advance to allow for possible delays. Authorities have also clarified that visa requirements and fees are subject to change, and applicants should verify the latest information on the official GVCW portal before proceeding.

US Congressman Introduces Bill to End H-1B Visa Programme

Share

A renewed legislative effort to abolish the H-1B visa programme has emerged in the US Congress, with Republican lawmaker Greg Steube introducing a bill that seeks to completely shut down the employment-based visa route.

Steube has tabled the Ending Exploitative Imported Labour Exemptions (EXILE) Act, which proposes a major amendment to the Immigration and Nationality Act. If enacted, the bill would phase out the H-1B visa programme entirely, reducing the number of visas issued to zero starting from 2027.

According to a press release from Steube’s office, the legislation aims to eliminate Section 214(g)(1)(A) of the Immigration and Nationality Act, effectively ending the programme. The proposal argues that prioritising foreign labour over American workers undermines national interests and economic stability.

Announcing the move on X, Steube said American workers have suffered for years due to what he described as widespread misuse of the H-1B system. He alleged that corporations have exploited the programme to import cheaper labour, suppress wages, and sideline qualified US citizens from well-paying jobs.

To support his case, Steube cited multiple instances where he claims American workers were adversely affected. He stated that over 10,000 US-trained physicians were unable to secure residency placements while more than 5,000 foreign-born doctors entered through the H-1B route. He also claimed that Microsoft approved over 9,000 H-1B visas in 2025 while allegedly displacing more than 16,000 employees.

Additional examples highlighted include Disney laying off 250 workers in 2015 and replacing them with H-1B visa holders, and Southern California Edison reportedly firing 540 employees in 2014 and filling those roles with foreign workers from Indian outsourcing firms.

The H-1B visa programme allows US companies to hire highly skilled foreign professionals, particularly in sectors such as technology, healthcare, and education, to fill talent gaps. However, it has long been a subject of political debate, with critics arguing it disadvantages domestic workers.

Steube’s proposal follows a similar attempt by former Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, who previously introduced the End H-1B Now Act. While her bill also sought to terminate the programme, it included a limited exemption allowing 10,000 medical professionals over a ten-year period.

With the EXILE Act now introduced, the future of the H-1B visa programme has once again become a focal point in US immigration and labour policy discussions.

Chiranjeevi Turned Down Key Role in Euphoria

Share

Director Gunasekhar’s latest film Euphoria failed to make an impact at the box office, despite earning fairly positive reviews. The film featured Gautam Menon in a crucial role as a police officer, a character that played a key part in driving the narrative.

In an exclusive interaction with manatelugu, Gunasekhar revealed an interesting casting detail, stating that Megastar Chiranjeevi was his first choice for the role eventually played by Gautam Menon. According to the director, Chiranjeevi showed keen interest in the character and appreciated its depth and importance to the story. However, after nearly a month of consideration, the Megastar chose to step away, explaining that he was not inclined to take up special or supporting roles at this phase of his illustrious career.

Gunasekhar’s revelation has sparked fresh discussion about how Chiranjeevi’s presence could have altered the film’s fate. With his immense star power and commanding screen presence, the film might have attracted a wider audience and gained stronger momentum at the box office.

Euphoria starred Bhumika Chawla as the female lead and carried a strong social message, addressing sensitive issues such as parenting challenges, drug abuse among youth, and flaws in the education system. While the film’s intent was widely appreciated, its commercial performance remained underwhelming, leaving many to wonder how different the outcome might have been with the Megastar on board.
