Amaravati Hosts State-Level Republic Day Celebrations for the First Time

Share

For the first time since its designation as Andhra Pradesh’s capital, Amaravati is hosting the state-level Republic Day celebrations. The event is being seen as a significant milestone, both politically and from a policy standpoint.

The celebrations coincide with the announcement of the official Capital Bill for Amaravati, which will legally establish the city as the state’s permanent capital, making the decision binding and irreversible.

AP Governor Shri Abdul Nazeer, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, IT Minister Nara Lokesh, along with other ministers and MLAs, are participating in the grand Republic Day parade.

Lokesh Kanagaraj Clarifies Kaithi 2 Delay, Confirms Allu Arjun Project

Share

Hotshot Kollywood director Lokesh Kanagaraj has been making frequent headlines lately, especially following the announcement of his highly anticipated next project with pan-India star Allu Arjun, which has created a wave of excitement among fans.

Meanwhile, the long-standing uncertainty surrounding the Kaithi sequel has sparked several unfounded speculations, largely due to Lokesh’s prolonged silence. With the announcement of the Allu Arjun project, rumors quickly spread that Lokesh had abandoned Kaithi 2 in favor of higher remuneration.

Breaking his silence, the Coolie director has now clarified his upcoming commitments. Lokesh firmly denied the rumors about shelving Kaithi 2 for financial reasons, stating that the sequel will go on floors once he completes Allu Arjun’s film, which is his immediate next project. He also confirmed that his ambitious LCU lineup—including Kaithi 2, Vikram 2, and Rolex—remains very much on track and will be completed as planned.

Addressing the much-discussed Rajinikanth–Kamal Haasan project, which was initially supposed to be helmed by him, Lokesh revealed that he had worked on an action-packed script for the duo after Coolie. “I worked sincerely on the script for one and a half months, and both of them liked it very much. However, since they had already done numerous action films in their careers, they were expecting a light-hearted film. As I don’t know how to make a light-hearted film, I honestly conveyed this to them and stepped away from the project,” he explained.

Lokesh further stated that the delay in Kaithi 2 was due to Karthi signing other commitments and his prior promise to work with Mythri Movie Makers for Allu Arjun’s project. He expressed confidence in starting his LCU movies soon after completing the Allu Arjun film.

Even before the release of Coolie, Lokesh was confident about its success, though it fell short of high expectations. Nonetheless, if he proceeds with Kaithi 2 after completing the Allu Arjun project, the sequel is expected to generate significant hype and excitement among fans.

Mana Shankara Varaprasad Garu Nears ₹350 Crore Worldwide

Share

After crossing the massive ₹300 crore gross mark within its first week, Mana Shankara Varaprasad Garu saw a slight slowdown during weekdays. However, the Republic Day long weekend gave the film a fresh boost, putting it back into strong box office form.

Ticket sales surged over the second weekend, with over one lakh tickets sold on BookMyShow on Saturday and more than 1.2 lakh on Sunday. With Republic Day being a national holiday, bookings continued to rise. The film has now touched around ₹350 crore worldwide, and the makers celebrated the milestone with a grand event in Hyderabad. Except for Nayanthara, the entire team attended, marking the occasion in a festive mood.

As the film completes two weeks in theatres, the coming days are crucial. Reaching the ₹400 crore mark is achievable, though it may take some time. With no major releases posing serious competition and only a small film arriving on Friday, the upcoming weekend looks favourable. If the film sustains its momentum, another strong weekend could push it closer to the next milestone, keeping fans eagerly engaged.

From a wider perspective, Mana Shankara Varaprasad Garu has set a new benchmark for regional cinema. Without being a pan-India release, it proved that a single-language film can still deliver extraordinary results. Director Anil Ravipudi’s understanding of the family audience played a key role. While his style may seem simple on the surface, replicating such success is far from easy.

Looking ahead, the film’s success has raised expectations for upcoming Telugu releases. Anil Ravipudi is reportedly preparing for a major project aimed at the 2027 Sankranthi season, with an official announcement expected soon.

Allu Arjun’s Upcoming Collaboration with Sandeep Reddy Vanga Teased

Share

Allu Arjun’s dedication and focus on his career are truly unparalleled. He is extremely selective when it comes to choosing directors, a fact evident from his previous collaborations with seasoned filmmakers like Trivikram and Sukumar.

Currently, Allu Arjun is working with two talented young Tamil directors, Atlee and Lokesh Kanagaraj, who are helming his upcoming projects. Both films are highly anticipated, showcasing his continued knack for picking dynamic storytellers.

Meanwhile, discussions around his collaboration with the popular filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga—first announced a few years ago—have resurfaced. The topic gained momentum after T-Series producer Bhushan Kumar, during a recent interview with a Hindi channel, spoke about Sandeep’s upcoming lineup: Spirit, Animal Park, and then the Allu Arjun project.

This confirmation from the producer suggests that a collaboration between Allu Arjun and Sandeep Reddy Vanga is indeed on the horizon. However, both stars currently have packed schedules—Allu Arjun with his projects under Atlee and Lokesh Kanagaraj, and Sandeep Reddy Vanga with Animal Park after completing Spirit, which features Ranbir Kapoor and Prabhas.

While their joint venture may take some time to materialize, when it does, it promises to be a landmark collaboration, bringing together two of Indian cinema’s most powerful forces.

Chiranjeevi Speaks Out on Casting Couch, Urges Professionalism

Share

Megastar Chiranjeevi, one of the most respected and influential figures in Telugu cinema, has maintained his legendary status for several decades. Recently, he spoke candidly about the recurring casting couch allegations in the film industry.

Chiranjeevi urged passionate filmmakers, both male and female, to enter the industry and hone their skills, emphasizing that talent is always valued above all else. “There may be references to casting couch or related incidents, but one must remember that if you work professionally and genuinely, others will respond accordingly. If you stay firm with your principles, no one can take advantage of you. This is something I strongly believe in. Be professional and straightforward, and everyone will understand,” he said.

His straightforward and honest take on such a sensitive topic was widely appreciated. Chiranjeevi also encouraged young aspirants to remain principled and professional, stressing that this approach is key to navigating the industry safely and confidently.

Pawan Kalyan Impresses Fans with Stylish Makeover

Share

After getting increasingly busy with politics, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has been attending film shoots only occasionally, unlike his earlier regular schedule. In line with this shift, he has also not been placing the same level of emphasis on his on-screen appearance and grooming.

Just a couple of weeks ago, Kalyan faced criticism from fans, who felt that he had completely neglected his looks and that his short hairstyle did not suit him. The issue sparked widespread discussion across social media platforms.

However, just as the criticism began to intensify, Pawan Kalyan surprised everyone with a brief yet striking makeover, reminding fans of his trademark style and charisma. Within a span of just a few days, he transitioned from being trolled for his unkempt appearance to impressing fans with a neat and stylish look. This transformation was evident when he appeared in a traditional Sikh outfit in Maharashtra yesterday, followed by a cool and casual avatar at the Republic Day celebrations in Amaravati today.

While Kalyan may no longer be overly concerned about his off-screen looks after fully embracing his role as a politician, his cinematic legacy and the expectations of his massive fan base make it inevitable for him to maintain a certain level of style. Judging by his recent appearances, it appears he is now striking that balance once again.

Exaggerated Claims Surround Mana Shankara Vara Prasad’s Box Office Success

Share

Mana Shankara Vara Prasad has emerged as a solid commercial success, and there is no denying that fact. The producers have made healthy profits, distributors are satisfied with good returns, and even the overflow revenues are working in the producers’ favor.

The film has reportedly become the highest grosser in Chiranjeevi’s filmography, which in itself is a genuine and unquestionable achievement. Ideally, the claims should have stopped there. However, the film’s team has begun making statements that are now raising eyebrows.

One such claim is that the film is an “all-time industry hit in regional cinema.” This naturally leads to confusion—what exactly does that imply? If the claim suggests that the film has surpassed all non–pan-India releases, the numbers do not seem to support it, as several films still stand ahead.

Even when considering Sankranthi releases alone, Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo remains superior in terms of collections. If only Tollywood Sankranthi releases are taken into account, both Hanuman and Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo are ahead.

Such exaggerated claims only encourage netizens to scrutinize box office figures more closely, inevitably leading to trolling. In fact, netizens are already pointing out that Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo collected over ₹20 crore in the Uttarandhra region, while Shankara Vara Prasad has reportedly collected less than ₹17 crore so far.
