Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Sankranthi entertainer, Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu (MSG), continues its unstoppable run at the box office, breaking record after record.
Directed by Anil Ravipudi, MSG set a new industry benchmark in the Telugu states by earning a record-breaking ₹14.70 crore share on its fifth day, surpassing the previous record of ₹13 crore set by SS Rajamouli’s RRR starring Ram Charan and NTR. This makes MSG the highest fifth-day grosser in Telugu cinema history.
The film also crossed 2.5 million ticket sales on BookMyShow within just five days. Globally, MSG has already grossed over ₹226 crore, surpassing the ₹200 crore mark in record time.
With strong footfalls continuing across all regions, the movie is expected to maintain its momentum over the weekend. Overseas collections will also pick up, leveraging the weekend advantage. MSG shows no signs of slowing down and continues to dominate both domestic and international markets.

Naga Vamsi’s Remarks Spark Fresh Online Backlash
Producer Naga Vamsi has been facing sustained trolling on social media following the underwhelming performance of films such as War 2 and Mass Jathara. A significant portion of the criticism has been directed at the lofty claims he made ahead of War 2, which he distributed in the Telugu states, along with his pre-release statements for Mass Jathara. Adding to the pressure, Kingdom, released last year, also failed to make an impact at the box office. With three consecutive disappointments, Naga Vamsi has remained a frequent subject of online backlash.
Much like certain media personalities, Naga Vamsi has often attracted attention through controversial or ill-considered remarks during press interactions. Several of his statements and videos have gone viral for the wrong reasons, further amplifying criticism.
Following these setbacks, many expected the producer to adopt a more restrained approach—focusing on stronger content choices and handling the success of Anaganaga Oka Raju with greater humility. However, recent developments suggest otherwise. At a press meet held recently, Naga Vamsi once again indulged in hyperbolic remarks and appeared to take indirect digs at fans and online trolls.
Without naming anyone explicitly, he commented that certain fan groups had been “doing duty” by trolling him over the past 72 hours and hinted at a forthcoming “return gift” to be announced soon.
“For the past 72 hours, all our fan boys have been doing duty all over social media. You all know very well whose fan boys they are. I know very well what kind of return gift to give you and on what scale. We will announce all of that soon,” he said.
