Dil Raju’s 2026 Lineup: Big Risks, High Stakes

Star producer Dil Raju, traditionally known for his safe and calculated choices in the film industry, seems to be taking unprecedented risks with his 2026 movie lineup. Over the years, he has built a strong reputation by backing sensible stories and bankable star combinations. This year, however, his slate spans from Tollywood to Bollywood, featuring high-profile projects that come with significant challenges. While early buzz is promising, trade analysts caution that the box office journey may be far from smooth.
One of the most anticipated films is Rowdy Janardhana, starring Vijay Deverakonda and directed by Ravi Kiran Kola. This raw, mass-action entertainer is crucial for Vijay, whose recent attempts to solidify a mass-image haven’t fully resonated with audiences. The film’s action-packed and violent tone has sparked curiosity, but whether it will connect with the public and cement Vijay’s “rowdy” persona remains uncertain.
Another bold experiment is Yellamma, where acclaimed music director Devi Sri Prasad is stepping in as the lead actor. Director Venu, praised for Balagam, is taking a risk by casting Devi as a hero. While the concept has generated early buzz, audience acceptance will ultimately determine its success or failure.
Chiranjeevi Gifts Range Rover to Anil Ravipudi After Blockbuster Success

Megastar Chiranjeevi has celebrated the monumental success of Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, the biggest blockbuster of his career, in a truly special way. The film, which also became a career-high hit for director Anil Ravipudi, emerged as a sensational industry hit among Telugu films, enjoying a strong and sustained box office run.
To express his joy and admiration, Chiranjeevi surprised Anil Ravipudi with an ultra-luxury Range Rover Sport, marking one of the most lavish gifts the megastar has ever presented to a filmmaker. While Chiranjeevi has gifted directors in the past, this is the first time he has gifted a car, underscoring both his happiness and the strong bond he shares with Anil Ravipudi.
The director’s skill in portraying Chiranjeevi in a vintage, humorous, and crowd-pleasing avatar not only contributed to the film’s massive success but also earned the megastar’s wholehearted admiration. Impressed with Anil Ravipudi’s vision and work ethic, Chiranjeevi has previously expressed his interest in collaborating with him again—this time for a multi-starrer alongside Venkatesh.
Vijay Sai Reddy May Launch New Party Ahead of BJP Move

Speculation is steadily growing around former YSRCP leader Vijay Sai Reddy, who exited the party some time ago and has since remained politically unaffiliated. His prolonged absence from any active political platform has fuelled curiosity about his next move, with many observers believing he may be planning a path that differs from the conventional political route.
According to ongoing political buzz, Vijay Sai Reddy is reportedly exploring the idea of launching a new political outfit of his own, possibly incorporating the word “Hindu” in its name. The alleged strategy is to build the party gradually, align it ideologically with the BJP, and eventually merge it with the national party at a later stage.
This has naturally raised questions about why he would choose such an indirect route instead of directly joining the BJP. Sources suggest that an immediate entry into the BJP may not have worked out, possibly due to the party’s existing alliance with the TDP. In this context, floating a like-minded political platform is being seen as a way to remain relevant and stay within the BJP’s broader ideological orbit.
While none of this has been officially confirmed, the speculation highlights Vijay Sai Reddy’s apparent effort to keep his political options open and position himself strategically for a future association with the BJP.
Allu Arjun Follows Prabhas’ Multi-Film Strategy

Among today’s biggest stars, Prabhas has carved a unique identity by announcing multiple projects back-to-back and juggling them with a packed shooting schedule. Without worrying too much about how many films are simultaneously on floors or nearing completion, he has consistently given bulk dates, making speed and volume a defining part of his working style.
Now, it appears that Allu Arjun is stepping onto a similar path. Bunny has begun lining up projects one after another, signalling a shift in strategy. Currently, he is committed to a high-profile film with Atlee and has also officially announced another big project with Lokesh Kanagaraj. While discussions and groundwork for these films are still in progress, Allu Arjun has already added yet another major collaboration to his lineup.
The latest addition is a film directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. The project has been officially confirmed by Bhushan Kumar of T-Series, who announced that the film will be produced under their banner. Interestingly, the Vanga–Bunny combination has been in talks for nearly three years, but various factors delayed its execution. Now, the project has finally been locked, much to the excitement of fans.
However, audiences will have to wait before seeing this collaboration on screen. Allu Arjun is expected to first complete his commitments with Atlee and Lokesh Kanagaraj before moving on to the Sandeep Reddy Vanga film. Meanwhile, Vanga himself is busy wrapping up Spirit, starring Prabhas.
Much like Prabhas, who has lined up massive projects such as Salaar, Kalki, The Raja Saab, Fauji, Spirit, along with sequels like Salaar 2 and Kalki 2, Allu Arjun now seems to be adopting a similar approach—locking multiple projects in advance and then managing dates accordingly. This new strategy reflects a clear shift in how top stars are planning their careers in the current era of big-scale cinema.
Mammootty Honoured with Padma Bhushan

Ahead of Republic Day, the Government of India announced this year’s Padma Awards, and legendary Malayalam actor Mammootty has been honoured with the prestigious Padma Bhushan. The award is a fitting recognition of his extraordinary contribution to Indian cinema, particularly Malayalam films, where he has delivered countless iconic performances over a remarkable career.
This marks Mammootty’s second Padma honour after nearly three decades, underlining the lasting impact of his work on Indian cinema. Widely regarded as one of the pioneers who elevated Malayalam cinema to national and international prominence, his influence extends far beyond box office success.
With more than 400 films to his credit across a career spanning over 55 years, Mammootty’s dedication and versatility stand unmatched. Even at 74, he continues to lead from the front, balancing commercially successful roles with critically acclaimed performances. Adding to this, the veteran actor has several films lined up in the coming years, proving that his passion for cinema remains as strong as ever.
Murali Mohan, Rajendra Prasad Honoured with Padma Shri

On the occasion of Republic Day, the Government of India announced the prestigious Padma Awards, honouring two stalwarts of Telugu cinema—Murali Mohan and Rajendra Prasad—with the Padma Shri in the arts category.
Senior actor and former MP Murali Mohan began his film journey in 1973 with Jagame Maya and went on to appear in over 350 films, becoming a respected and familiar face in Tollywood. His performances earned him several accolades, including the Nandi Award for Best Actor for Oo Thandri Theerpu in 1985, and Best Supporting Actor awards for Preminchu (2001) and Vegu Chukkalu (2003). He was also honoured with the SIIMA Lifetime Achievement Award in 2017. Apart from acting, Murali Mohan made his mark as a producer and as the chairman of the Jayabheri Group. His Padma Shri recognises decades of consistent contribution to cinema and public life.
Veteran actor Rajendra Prasad, celebrated as one of Tollywood’s finest performers and comedians, entered the industry in 1981 with the encouragement of NTR. With over 200 films to his credit, he carved a unique niche through his versatility across comedy, drama, and character-driven roles. He won Nandi Awards for Best Actor for Erramandaram (1991) and Aa Naluguru (2004), a Special Jury Award for Madam (1994), and Best Character Actor for Tommy (2014). In addition, he has received multiple SIIMA and Santosham Film Awards. Even today, he continues to impress audiences by seamlessly sharing screen space with younger actors.
The Padma Shri honour for Murali Mohan and Rajendra Prasad stands as a fitting tribute to their remarkable journeys and their lasting influence on Telugu cinema across generations.
Mrunal Thakur Not Part of Ram Charan’s Peddi Special Song

Putting an end to the speculation, the makers of Ram Charan’s upcoming film Peddi have clarified that Bollywood actress Mrunal Thakur is not associated with the project in any capacity. Recent reports had claimed that Mrunal would be seen in a special song alongside Ram Charan, but sources close to the team have firmly rubbished these rumours. According to them, while a special song is very much part of the film, Mrunal Thakur has no connection to it. The special number is scheduled to be shot in the first week of March, and the actress who will feature in it is said to be a top heroine, with the final decision expected by the end of this month.
In recent years, special songs featuring popular actresses have emerged as powerful promotional tools. Chartbusters like Oo Antava, Jigelu Rani, and Kissik have significantly amplified pre-release buzz for their respective films. Interestingly, Pooja Hegde, who earlier shared screen space with Ram Charan in Rangasthalam, had also created a sensation with her special song appearance. Industry insiders believe that a star heroine in a special number can massively boost a film’s visibility, with such songs often going viral even before the movie hits theatres.
Meanwhile, Peddi, which is set against a rural backdrop and revolves around sports, already boasts multiple songs featuring Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor. One of them, Chikir Chikiri, has garnered millions of views online and continues to trend. Adding to the excitement, another high-energy dance number is expected to highlight Ram Charan’s exceptional dancing prowess once again, promising fans a grand visual spectacle.
Balakrishna–Gopichand Malineni Opt for Budget-Friendly Film

Nandamuri Balakrishna has reportedly given his approval to a fresh script narrated by director Gopichand Malineni for his landmark 111th film. Interestingly, this project is said to mark a significant shift in terms of budgeting strategy. Initially, the Balakrishna–Gopichand Malineni combo had planned an ambitious warrior-based folklore drama with an estimated budget exceeding ₹180 crore. However, following Akhanda 2 failing to make a strong pan-India impact, the team decided to reassess their approach.
According to sources, Gopichand Malineni went back to the drawing board with his writing team and developed a high-octane action drama that presents Balakrishna in a darker, more intense avatar, aligning perfectly with his mass appeal. “The new script was unanimously approved and will be produced on a controlled budget of under ₹130 crore,” a source revealed. At a time when Telugu film budgets are skyrocketing, Balakrishna’s willingness to recalibrate costs is being seen as a practical and producer-friendly move.
The source further added that the story is deeply rooted and designed to strike a strong emotional and mass connect with Telugu audiences across the globe. Given the current market realities, the actor and director felt it was wiser to focus on a subject that ensures solid theatrical returns rather than chasing uncertain pan-India numbers.
With many star-driven films struggling due to inflated budgets, reduced OTT deals—reportedly cut by nearly 30 percent—and unpredictable revenues from Hindi dubbing and other non-theatrical rights, producers are facing mounting risks. “In today’s scenario, a Telugu film must primarily recover its investment from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana theatrical revenues. Anything beyond that should be treated as an added bonus. The industry needs to adapt to changing times,” the source concluded.
Balakrishna and Gopichand Malineni earlier delivered the commercial success Veera Simha Reddy, and with this budget-conscious yet powerful script, the duo is aiming to recreate that box-office magic once again.
Sushmita Konidela Expands Gold Box Entertainment

Following the blockbuster success of Mana Shankara Varaprasad Garu, producer Sushmita Konidela has taken a major step forward by inaugurating a new office for her production house, Gold Box Entertainment, in Hyderabad. Sharing glimpses of the sleek new workspace on social media, Sushmita hinted at fresh beginnings and ambitious plans for the future. This move underscores her intent to scale up operations and build on the momentum from her recent hit.
Industry sources suggest that Sushmita has signed a significant deal with a leading OTT platform to produce back-to-back films, strengthening her presence in the digital entertainment space. Having previously delivered content for OTT platforms, she is now aiming to make an even stronger mark in Tollywood.
Meanwhile, her cousin Niharika Konidela, daughter of Nagababu, recently completed 10 years as a film producer. The two sisters congratulated each other on their respective milestones, marking a proud moment for the Konidela family. Looking ahead, it remains to be seen whether Sushmita will continue focusing on content-driven, budget-conscious films or venture into larger projects with star actors, as expectations around her next moves continue to grow.
Anantapur Residents Turn Drought Into Hope: PM Modi Highlights

In the 130th episode of his popular radio programme Mann Ki Baat, PM Narendra Modi highlighted an inspiring story from Anantapur in Andhra Pradesh, a region long plagued by severe drought and water scarcity. Known for its red, sandy soil and low rainfall, Anantapur has faced chronic water shortages, making daily life and farming a constant challenge for local families.
The Prime Minister praised the collective efforts of the people of Anantapur, who, alongside their local administration, tackled the problem head-on. Through a community-led initiative called the ‘Ananta Neeru Samrakshana Project’, villagers cleaned and restored over 10 water reservoirs, enabling them to hold rainwater and revitalize the local water system.
In addition, residents planted more than 7,000 trees, which not only enhanced greenery but also improved soil health and water retention—crucial during dry seasons. The initiative demonstrated strong community participation and a sense of shared responsibility.
PM Modi shared this story to highlight how ordinary citizens can bring about extraordinary change. He emphasized that small local actions, such as cleaning reservoirs, conserving water, and planting trees, collectively make a significant difference. This model of teamwork and innovation, he suggested, could serve as an example for other drought-prone regions of India. The core message was clear: when communities take responsibility and work together, even severe challenges like water scarcity can be addressed, improving the quality of life for everyone.
