CM Revanth Reddy Orders T-Hub to Stay a Startup Hub

Recently, media reports suggested the possible relocation of the Begumpet Divisional Revenue Office to the T-Hub building in Gachibowli, which was originally designed to promote and support startups. The news sparked mixed reactions, with many expressing concern that using a startup incubator as a government office would defeat its purpose.
Responding swiftly, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy intervened. While on an official visit to the United States, he spoke to Chief Secretary Ramakrishna Rao and issued clear instructions: government offices currently operating from rented buildings should be moved to other available government premises, not T-Hub.
The CM emphasized that T-Hub must remain exclusively a dedicated startup center, serving as an incubator and innovation hub for budding entrepreneurs. Following this directive, authorities have decided to abandon the plan to repurpose T-Hub as a government office. The facility will continue to function as a startup incubator, fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in Telangana.

As part of the preparations, plans are being made to develop 373 bathing ghats along a stretch of 9,918 metres, including 234 existing ghats and 139 new ones. To manage the massive influx of devotees, the CM emphasized the use of AI-based crowd management and traffic diversion systems. He also directed officials to approach the central government well in advance to secure the necessary funds.
With these preparations, Andhra Pradesh is set to host one of the biggest cultural events in the country, which is expected to have significant economic and financial benefits in addition to its spiritual significance.

Priyadarshan’s 100th Film with Mohanlal

In today’s cinema, when a hero and a director collaborate on three or four films, it is often celebrated as a rare and special combination. However, in earlier decades, such partnerships were far more common, with actors and filmmakers working together across a long list of projects.
In Telugu cinema, the legendary combination of Megastar Chiranjeevi and director K. Raghavendra Rao resulted in more than twenty films, a record that continues to be admired even today.
In Malayalam cinema, an even more extraordinary partnership stands out. Mohanlal, regarded as the number one star of the industry, has collaborated with veteran filmmaker Priyadarshan on an astounding 40 films. Their association extends beyond professional collaboration into a deep personal bond, with their families sharing a long-standing friendship.
Priyadarshan is now gearing up to direct his 100th film, a major milestone in his illustrious career. Making the project even more special, Mohanlal will be playing the lead role in this landmark venture. Interestingly, Priyadarshan’s directorial journey itself began with Mohanlal. Back in 1982, Mohanlal played a key role in Sindoor Sandhyakku Mounam, one of Priyadarshan’s earliest films. Decades later, their reunion for his hundredth film comes full circle, making the occasion truly memorable.
Over the years, Priyadarshan has remained active across industries, directing successful films not only in Malayalam but also in Hindi. During a peak phase of his Malayalam career, he also directed the Telugu film Nirnayam, starring Akkineni Nagarjuna, which received a moderate box-office response.
On the personal front, Priyadarshan married actress Lissy, who had appeared in several Telugu films, and the couple has a daughter, Kalyani Priyadarshan, who is now a well-known actress herself. The couple, however, parted ways in 2016.
Bhartha Mahasayalaku Wignyapthi: A Turning Point for Ravi Teja?

With the release of Bhartha Mahasayalaku Wignyapthi, opinions remain divided on whether Ravi Teja has truly staged a full-fledged comeback. Among the Sankranti releases, Raja Saab ended up at the bottom, while Mass Maharaja’s film fared slightly better. Although the festive season aided its commercial performance, the film’s content failed to impress a section of the audience.
As a result, it lagged behind successful films like Nari Nari Naduma Murari and Anaganaga Oka Raju. Since Chiranjeevi’s MSG emerged as a unanimous blockbuster, it has been excluded from this comparison. Overall, the situation suggests that Ravi Teja’s box-office stamina is yet to be conclusively tested.
Currently, Ravi Teja is working with director Shiva Nirvana, with the shoot progressing at a brisk pace. The project is said to be an action-revenge drama enriched with strong father–daughter sentiment and emotional depth. Following this, reports indicate that Mass Maharaja may collaborate with young director Vivek Athreya. Despite the success of Saripodhaa Sanivaaram, Vivek took a considerable break before returning to direction.
There were recent reports of Vivek narrating scripts to Tamil superstars Rajinikanth and Suriya, though those discussions did not materialize into projects. Now, buzz around his potential collaboration with Ravi Teja is gaining traction. If this combination becomes a reality, it would excite fans, given Vivek Athreya’s reputation for distinctive storytelling.
While there is no official confirmation yet, the decent response to Bhartha Mahasayalaku Wignyapthi, especially in contrast to Ravi Teja’s recent flops, has managed to keep his fan base cautiously optimistic.
Tharun–Eesha Pair Shines in Om Shanti Shanti Shantihi

Tharun Bhascker and Eesha Rebba’s rural, humour-driven family drama Om Shanti Shanti Shantihi is just six days away from its theatrical release on January 30. While the teaser and promotional content generated decent curiosity, it is the trailer that has significantly raised expectations.
The biggest highlight is the intense yet entertaining husband-wife dynamic between Tharun and Eesha, shaped by ego clashes, emotional undercurrents, and sharp exchanges. Both actors slip effortlessly into their roles, delivering performances that feel natural and lived-in. Despite being Telanganites, their Godavari slang sounds convincing and authentic, adding depth to the rural setting. Tharun, in particular, stands out with his trademark organic screen presence and understated humour.
For a debutant director, A R Sajeev displays impressive control over the narrative. The situational comedy works effectively, and the trailer suggests a clean, relatable entertainer rooted strongly in family emotions and everyday conflicts.
Backed by S Originals and Movie Verse Studios, the film appears well-positioned to connect with audiences across age groups. With the fresh pairing of Tharun Bhascker and Eesha Rebba generating interest, all eyes are now on whether Om Shanti Shanti Shantihi can convert this positive buzz into on-screen magic and a solid box-office performance.
GVMC Move to Regularise GITAM Land Sparks Political Storm in Visakhapatnam

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP)-led coalition government has landed in the middle of a major controversy following its decision to regularise 54.79 acres of prime land allegedly encroached upon by GITAM University at Rushikonda and Endada villages in Visakhapatnam.
According to reports, the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) has placed an agenda item in its January 30, 2026 meeting proposing the “regularisation” of land occupied by the private university. GITAM University is owned by Visakhapatnam MP Mathukumilli Sri Bharat, a senior leader of the TDP.
Retired IAS officer and noted social activist E.A.S. Sarma has strongly objected to the move, writing to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and urging him to immediately halt the proposed regularisation. Sarma alleged that the university had encroached upon valuable government land several years ago, running into thousands of crores of rupees, and that no action was taken due to political patronage.
CPI (M) Visakhapatnam district secretary M. Jaggu Naidu also criticised the decision, alleging that the agenda was introduced solely to benefit the sitting MP, who is also the chairman of the GITAM group. He stated that land in the Rushikonda–Endada belt is currently valued at around ₹22 crore per acre, placing the total market value of the disputed land at nearly ₹5,000 crore.
Jaggu Naidu argued that allocating such high-value public land to a profit-oriented private institution violates Supreme Court judgments in the 2G spectrum and coal block allocation cases and could attract provisions under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. He further cited a 2011 Supreme Court ruling and a 2012 government order (GO No. 571), both of which prohibit the transfer of government land under local bodies to private entities.
Accusing the coalition government of betraying its electoral promise to protect public assets, the CPI (M) leader demanded the immediate withdrawal of the agenda item, repossession of the encroached land, and strict action against the officials and political leaders involved.
Dhurandhar Beats Pushpa 2 to Become Highest-Grossing Hindi Film

Bollywood fans finally have a new reason to celebrate. After nearly a year of dominance, Pushpa 2 has been dethroned as the highest-grossing Hindi film, with “Dhurandhar” officially taking the top spot at the box office.
In just seven weeks, Dhurandhar has amassed ₹829.40 crore in Hindi nett collections, edging past Pushpa 2, which had closed its Hindi run at ₹810.10 crore. What makes this achievement even more remarkable is the stark contrast in the two films’ journeys.
While Pushpa 2 was a highly anticipated sequel riding on the massive success and fanbase of its predecessor, Dhurandhar arrived as a standalone, fresh film, backed mainly by a single impactful trailer and strong word of mouth.
The week-wise box office trend clearly highlights this difference.
Pushpa 2 opened to a thunderous ₹425.10 crore in its first week—more than double Dhurandhar’s ₹207.25 crore opening. However, the momentum didn’t last. By its second week, Pushpa 2 witnessed a sharp 50% drop, collecting only ₹196.50 crore.
In contrast, Dhurandhar showed rare box office stamina. Its second-week collections jumped by 21%, reaching ₹252.25 crore, signalling strong audience reception and repeat viewership. From there on, Dhurandhar consistently outperformed Pushpa 2 week after week.
Dhurandhar vs Pushpa 2
Hindi Nett Box Office – Week-wise Comparison
Week 1: ₹207.25 Cr / ₹425.10 Cr
Week 2: ₹252.25 Cr / ₹196.50 Cr
Week 3: ₹172.00 Cr / ₹103.05 Cr
Week 4: ₹106.50 Cr / ₹53.75 Cr
Week 5: ₹51.25 Cr / ₹19.45 Cr
Week 6: ₹26.35 Cr / ₹8.00 Cr
Week 7: ₹13.75 Cr / ₹4.25 Cr
Total (7 Weeks): ₹829.40 Cr / ₹810.10 Cr
It may have taken almost a year for Bollywood to finally surpass Pushpa 2’s Hindi box office record, but Dhurandhar has proven that strong content and sustained audience support can outperform even the biggest franchise-driven openings.
With several big-ticket films lined up in the coming months, all eyes are now on which movie will be bold enough—and strong enough—to challenge Dhurandhar’s newly minted record.
