Legendary music composer Mani Sharma is a name that needs no introduction. His brilliant songs and terrific background scores over the past three decades speak volumes about the legacy he created. He worked with every hero in Tollywood and gave super hit music in Tamil as well. He developed a huge fanbase over the years and he is coming up with ‘Bedurulanka 2012’ on 25th August.

Mani Sharma has witnessed a drastic change in music and trends over the years. His music was available in cassettes back in the days and it is now coming in the form of lyrical videos. He talked about the disadvantage of this latest trend of releasing singles rather than launching the whole audio at once.

He said, “With the latest trend of releasing audio singles one by one, people are habituated to listening to the songs only if it impresses in the first hearing. But, in the earlier days, people used to listen to all the songs at a time. In fact, some songs will impress us in the second hearing, third hearing, or even in the tenth hearing for some cases. With the latest trend, many great compositions are not getting recognized, and that’s sad!”

What he said is 100% true and even the filmmakers are focused on making one song go viral rather than making the listener enjoy the entire album. They are making sure that one song is sung by a popular singer and has an addictive hook line and an easy-to-do dance movement so that the audience can make numerous reels. They want it to trend on social media which helps in the film gaining buzz before the release. The music directors are compelled into making songs for views rather than musical experience.

When ‘Don’ was released back in back in 2006, many were skeptical that Shah Rukh Khan couldn’t match Amitabh Bachchan’s style and class. But SRK added his own flavour to it and the movie ended up being a blockbuster. Farhan Akhtar directed this movie and it created a lot of records.

SRK and Farhan came up with ‘Don 2’ in 2011 and it was a big hit too. Now, Farhan announced ‘Don 3’ but not another hero for the title role. The 57-year-old has been replaced by Ranveer Singh. While the combination is making the fans excited, SRK’s screen presence and aura are unmatchable. One simply cannot replace him.

Ranveer is known for his high energy but a role like Don requires a lot of composure, calm and charisma. It will be a big challenge for Ranveer Singh but the ‘Ram Leela’ hero is known for taking up versatile roles. His movies like ‘Gully Boy’, ‘Padmavat’ and ‘Bajirao Mastani’ prove it.

But let us see what he does in ‘Don 3’. Ranveer’s latest outing ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’ turned out to be a good hit. It was his first hit in recent times as he is scoring one flop after another these days. On the other hand, SRK will be coming up with ‘Jawan’ on 7th September and the expectations are massive on this movie.
