Ulaganayagan Kamal Hassan is currently working on Shankar’s magnum opus ‘Indian 2’. This is one of the most-awaited movies in South India. ‘Indian’ which was released back in 1996 was a sensational hit that made Shankar one of the top directors in South India. Kamala Hassan’s phenomenal acting turned it into an evergreen film. A lot of elements like the strong story, stupendous music and others worked in favor of that film. Shankar is now making the second part and the shooting was delayed a lot of times due to multiple reasons.
It is going on at full swing right now and the duo of Shankar and Kamal Hassan are expected to work their magic on the screen even after 25 years. There are some interesting leaks about Kamal’s role in this film. As we are aware, Kamal played a dual role in the first part. While the father is a freedom fighter who fights against the corrupt government system by killing them, his son will be seen as a guy who buys a government job in order to earn more illegally.
But ‘Indian 2’ is reportedly going to be quite different from the first film as reports suggest that Shankar has taken a burning topic in the current society and penned the movie around it. This point is expected to connect with the audience instantly. Sources say that Shankar is focusing on the partiality shown by politicians. Apparently, it will shed light on how some selfish North Indian leaders are ignoring South India and the hero will be taking revenge on them. Starting from the national budget to every other issue, the movie will focus on the injustice down to the South.
Kamal will be doing a dual role in this flick too and he will be seen as a youngster once again. Sources say that the VFX artists are working hard to make him look young. ‘Indian 2’ is expected to showcase the father-son rivalry once again. Lyca Productions banner is bankrolling this project while Kajal Agarwal is the heroine. Anirudh Ravichander is composing music for this movie. We need to wait and see if this movie releases by the end of this year or in 2024. Rakul Preet Singh, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Siddharth, Bobby Simha, Samuthirakani and others are playing key roles.
