Nandamuri Balakrishna has arrived this Sankranti season with ‘Veera Simha Reddy’ which was directed by Gopichand Malineni. The movie bagged a decent response during its release and registered huge opening day collections. There are a lot of people who said that the second half is a soap opera but the action episodes in the first half impressed the mass audience.
Megastar Chiranjeevi arrived with ‘Waltair Veerayya’ during the same season and it is a complete commercial flick that collected huge. It is a known fact that ‘Waltair Veerayya’ has collected more than Balayya’s ‘Veera Simha Reddy’. A lot of people even claimed that Megastar is the Sankranti winner of 2023. The buzz on both these movies has faded away completely and they are already on OTT platforms.
Recently, Balakrishna’s movie completed its 100-day run at the box office. They released a mass poster and what is written on it is making a lot of heads turn around. It says, “NBK’s roaring blockbuster. Century with Single Hand.” Many are implying that Balakrishna and his team claim that their film got a 100-day run without anyone’s help while Chiranjeevi got a blockbuster film with the help of Ravi Teja. As we know, the ‘Dhamaka’ hero played a special role in the movie and his character in the second half was one of the main attractions.
We have seen the makers of ‘Ala Vaikunthapuramlo’ and ‘Sarileru Neekevvaru’ releasing posters throwing counters at each other during the Sankranti season of 2020. With Balayya and his team taking a slight dig at Chiranjeevi’s movie, we need to see if ‘Waltair Veerayya’ team give them a reply or not.
