Allu Arjun’s Emotional Birthday Tribute to Father Allu Aravind
Superstar Allu Arjun marked a deeply personal moment as he celebrated his father Allu Aravind’s 77th birthday with a heartfelt tribute. Taking to Instagram, the actor shared a photograph with his father at the newly launched Allu Cinemas and penned an emotional note, calling Aravind “the closest thing to God” in his life. The message reflected the strong bond the duo share, with Arjun wishing his father a life filled with joy and good health.
Allu Aravind, founder of the prestigious Geetha Arts banner, is widely regarded as one of the most influential producers in South Indian cinema. His illustrious career spans decades, with landmark films such as Magadheera, Ghajini, Jalsa, Sarrainodu and Ala Vaikuntapuramulo, among many others, shaping modern Telugu and South Indian cinema.
On the professional front, Allu Arjun was last seen in Pushpa 2: The Rule, directed by Sukumar. The film, a sequel to Pushpa: The Rise, continues the story of Pushpa Raj and stands among the most expensive and longest Indian films ever made. Arjun has an exciting slate ahead, including a mythological epic with Trivikram, the third installment of the Pushpa franchise with Sukumar, and a high-profile project with Atlee, tentatively titled AA22 x A6, which also stars Deepika Padukone.

Draped in a body-hugging silhouette, the look strikes a refined balance between elegance and modern edge, allowing posture and presence to take center stage. Minimal styling enhances the visual restraint, while the camera’s deliberate framing emphasizes strength over spectacle—highlighting texture, line, and poise. Mood lighting enriches the narrative, casting soft shadows and warm highlights that sculpt movement and elevate subtle elan. The intimate yet composed ambience invites a slower gaze, rewarding attention with nuance. Together, styling, light, and expression converge to present Shraddha Das as effortless, assured, and quietly powerful—proof that simplicity, led by confidence, can be strikingly memorable.
Karthi’s Va Vathiyaar Finally Set for January 14 Release Amid Legal Resolution

Karthi’s much-anticipated film Va Vathiyaar, which was originally slated for release in December last year, is finally gearing up to hit theatres on January 14. The film was also planned for a Telugu release under the title Anna Garu Vostaru. However, prolonged financial and legal hurdles forced the makers to defer its release indefinitely.
Produced by Studio Green’s KE Gnanvel Raja, the project ran into trouble following financial disputes with his former business partner. The fallout led to court cases, effectively putting Va Vathiyaar on hold for several months. Recent developments, however, suggest that the producer has managed to resolve key issues, paving the way for the film’s theatrical release during the lucrative Sankranthi season.
The timing works in the film’s favour. With Vijay’s Jana Nayagan officially postponed and Sivakarthikeyan’s Parasakthi being the only major Tamil release—opening today amid censorship delays and receiving mixed reviews—the festive Pongal window has remained largely underutilised in Tamil Nadu. Industry sources indicate that Gnanvel Raja reached a mutual understanding with his partner, enabling him to bring Va Vathiyaar to cinemas on January 14 and capitalise on the holiday rush.
Given Karthi’s consistent box-office pull and the relatively open release window, Va Vathiyaar stands a fair chance of performing strongly in Tamil Nadu. However, despite its Tamil release, the Telugu version Anna Garu Vostaru is unlikely to hit screens. With a heavy lineup of Telugu films already occupying theatres during Sankranthi, the makers appear to have shelved plans for a Telugu theatrical release for now.
Tamil Film ‘Tourist Family’ Enters Oscar 2026 Best Picture (Foreign Film) Race

When Homebound, backed by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, entered the Oscar contention, it became a proud moment for Indian cinema. Adding to that momentum, another Indian film—this time from the South—has stepped onto the global stage.
Tamil cinema has reason to celebrate as last year’s sleeper hit Tourist Family is now officially eligible and in contention for the Best Picture (Foreign Film) category at the 98th Academy Awards. The film is among 201 international entries competing for a nomination, making its inclusion itself a significant milestone.
Tourist Family is a 2025 Tamil-language drama written and directed by Abhishan Jeevinth in his feature film debut. Starring Sasikumar and Simran in the lead roles, the film follows a Sri Lankan Tamil family forced to flee their homeland and live under assumed identities in a small town in Tamil Nadu. When the police eventually trace them, the residents of the colony unite to protect the family, highlighting themes of compassion, solidarity, and humanity.
Made on a modest budget, Tourist Family went on to collect nearly ₹90 crore worldwide, emerging as one of the year’s most unexpected success stories. Should the film secure an Oscar nomination, it would mark a landmark achievement—not just for its makers, but for Tamil cinema as a whole.
Raja Saab and the ‘R’ Sentiment: Coincidence or Curse for Prabhas?

Despite opening to an impressive ₹100 crore gross, Raja Saab has found itself at the centre of mixed reactions, with trade circles and fans debating why the film failed to meet sky-high expectations. While discussions around content, direction, and narrative depth continue, an unusual sentiment-driven theory has resurfaced and is gaining traction—especially among Prabhas loyalists.
The belief revolves around the so-called “R Sentiment,” a pattern fans claim has repeatedly worked against the star. Films such as Raghavendra, Rebel, and Radhe Shyam are often cited as examples where titles beginning with the letter ‘R’ coincided with disappointing outcomes at the box office. With Raja Saab now joining that list, the conversation has intensified once again.
Interestingly, even the makers appear to have acknowledged this chatter to an extent by prefixing the title with “The”, officially branding it as The Raja Saab. However, in public discourse and promotions, neither the cast nor the crew has actively used the revised title, inadvertently adding fuel to the sentiment theory.
Whether this is mere coincidence, superstition, or a selectively observed pattern remains subjective. Yet, the discussion has undeniably captured public attention. All eyes are now on the Sankranthi season, as a strong box office surge in the coming days could decisively silence the ‘R Sentiment’ debate and shift focus back to the film’s commercial performance.

Chiranjeevi–Venkatesh Unite for the First Time in Anil Ravipudi’s MSG

Megastar Chiranjeevi and Victory Venkatesh, two of the biggest icons of Telugu cinema, are coming together for the first time ever in the family entertainer Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu (MSG). The much-awaited collaboration is being helmed by blockbuster director Anil Ravipudi, who described the project as a dream come true.
Interacting with the media, Anil Ravipudi expressed his gratitude for getting the opportunity to direct both legends in a single film. He revealed that a 20-minute “powerhouse sequence” featuring Chiranjeevi and Venkatesh is set to be a major highlight and is expected to create a frenzy in theatres.
The director shared that Venkatesh will be seen as Venky Gowda, a mining businessman from Karnataka—a role that marks a refreshing departure for the actor. Speaking about Chiranjeevi, Anil said the Megastar thoroughly enjoyed even self-deprecating humour, adding that it was a delight to watch him perform with such ease and enthusiasm.
Anil Ravipudi noted that MSG primarily follows Chiranjeevi’s character, giving a unique touch to his writing. He emotionally recalled the 18 days of shoot with both stars as one of the most memorable phases of his life, stating, “I still can’t believe it happened, but I’ll cherish it forever.”
Produced on a lavish scale by Sahu Garapati and Sushmita Konidela, the film has been handled with strict financial discipline. Anil revealed that he personally monitored the daily budget, treating the project as his own. Emphasising producer safety, he said that while profits may vary, ensuring a smooth and secure production process was his priority.
Thanking audiences for their continued support, Anil Ravipudi urged them to watch Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu in theatres on January 12, expressing confidence that the film will emerge as a massive blockbuster.
Ticket Price GO Row Puts Prabhas and Chiranjeevi Films Under Spotlight

The Telangana government’s approach to approving elevated ticket prices has sparked fresh debate within the Telugu film industry, following contrasting outcomes for films starring Prabhas and Chiranjeevi. The issue has drawn attention to how government permissions can significantly impact big-budget releases, irrespective of star power.
Prabhas’s upcoming film Raja Saab reportedly failed to receive the required Government Order (GO) from the Telangana government within the expected timeline. As a result, plans for paid premiere shows were affected, causing disappointment among distributors and exhibitors, especially given the film’s scale and high pre-release expectations.
In sharp contrast, Chiranjeevi’s Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu secured approval for elevated ticket prices smoothly, without any visible delays or hurdles. The disparity in treatment quickly became a talking point across trade circles, triggering speculation about the factors influencing the decision-making process.
According to industry chatter, the delay in Raja Saab’s approval may not have been purely procedural. One prevailing view suggests that Prabhas does not actively engage in personal lobbying or political outreach, which may have worked against the film. Another theory points to internal trade politics, with rival distribution interests possibly playing a role. There is also speculation that last-minute law and order concerns were cited by certain ministers to stall the approval.
On the other hand, Chiranjeevi’s film is believed to have benefited from strong political connections, enabling a faster clearance through official channels. Whether the contrasting outcomes were coincidental or indicative of deeper biases, the episode has once again highlighted the crucial role of government permissions in the film business.
The situation has reignited discussions around fairness, transparency, and consistency in policy implementation, leaving the Telugu film industry divided over whether star power alone is sufficient when administrative approvals come into play.
Varun Sandesh and Vithika Sheru Reunite After 11 Years with ‘Dear Astronaut’

It is rare to see real-life married couples share intimate moments on the silver screen, especially long after their marriage. However, ahead of the Sankranthi festival, Happy Days fame actor Varun Sandesh and his wife, actress-turned-YouTuber Vithika Sheru, have surprised audiences by reuniting for a new film after an 11-year gap.
The couple, who previously starred together in the 2015 film Paddamandi Premalo Mari, have announced their latest project titled ‘Dear Astronaut’. The first look poster, featuring Varun and Vithika in a standing lip-lock pose, has instantly drawn attention and sparked discussions online.
While on-screen lip-locks are no longer uncommon, the buzz around Dear Astronaut stems largely from the contrasting career phases of the couple. Varun Sandesh has been struggling to deliver a box-office success in recent years, while Vithika Sheru has shifted focus to digital content creation and lifestyle vlogging through her YouTube channel.
Their decision to collaborate again has raised eyebrows, but it has also reignited hope among Varun Sandesh’s fans, who believe the film could mark a fresh turning point in his career. The duo, who fell in love after their earlier collaboration and later appeared together on Bigg Boss Telugu, continue to attract attention as both on-screen and off-screen partners.
With growing curiosity surrounding Dear Astronaut, audiences are keen to see whether this reunion can translate into renewed success for the couple.
