Chiranjeevi Film Ticket Prices Cleared Early, Smooth Release Ahead

Share

After the recent tension surrounding ticket pricing for Prabhas-starrer The Raja Saab, attention has now shifted to Megastar Chiranjeevi’s upcoming film. In a welcome relief for fans and theatre owners alike, the ticket pricing issue for this film has been resolved well in advance of its release.

Chiranjeevi’s new movie is slated to hit theatres on January 12, and unlike the confusion witnessed during The Raja Saab release in Telangana, ticket rates for this film were officially approved two days earlier. This early clearance helped the makers and exhibitors avoid last-minute hurdles, legal complications, or sudden revisions—issues that often create uncertainty close to release.

The smooth approval process came after both the Telangana and Andhra Pradesh governments issued their respective Government Orders (GOs). With today and tomorrow being court holidays, this timely clearance played a crucial role in ensuring an uninterrupted release.

As per the final ticket prices, including GST, the rates are as follows:

Telangana

Premiere shows: ₹600

Regular shows:

Single screens: ₹227

Multiplexes: ₹395

Andhra Pradesh

Premiere shows: ₹500

Regular shows:

Single screens: ₹247

Multiplexes: ₹302

These prices were confirmed without any delays, bringing much-needed relief to fans who were anxious after witnessing the uncertainty during The Raja Saab release. Many moviegoers had earlier expressed concerns that high ticket prices and late approvals created avoidable tension, and this time, the proactive approach has been widely appreciated.

Maruthi Confident of ‘The Raja Saab’ Success Amid Mixed Talk

Share

Amid criticism that The Raja Saab has not fully met expectations, director Maruthi has expressed strong confidence in the film’s outcome, citing its massive opening-day box office collections as proof of its impact. Speaking at the film’s success meet held today, Maruthi stated that he is extremely satisfied with the result and termed the film a “king-size blockbuster.”

Addressing the feedback from Prabhas fans, Maruthi clarified that the response is being misunderstood. “Prabhas fans are not disappointed; they are unsatisfied. They are still processing the story,” he said. The director revealed that several Prabhas fan association presidents personally spoke to him and praised the film, adding that such mixed talk on opening day is common for Prabhas’ releases. “They asked me to wait for 10 days and see how far the film goes at the box office,” he added.

Maruthi also confirmed that changes have been made to the second half of the film based on early feedback. “We’ve sharpened the second half, and from today’s 6 PM shows, Prabhas’ old getup will be added to the film,” he revealed, assuring audiences that significant effort went into the making of the movie.

Expressing gratitude, Maruthi thanked Prabhas for trusting a mid-range director like him and appreciated fans for their support. With the holiday season underway, it remains to be seen whether these changes and the director’s remarks will positively influence The Raja Saab’s box office run.

The Raja Saab Day 1: Prabhas Film Opens at ₹112 Cr, Team Responds to Feedback

Share

The Raja Saab, which released worldwide yesterday, opened to mixed word of mouth but registered an impressive opening at the box office. As revealed by producer T. Vishwa Prasad during the film’s success meet, the Prabhas-starrer grossed approximately ₹112 crore globally on its first day, once again underlining the star’s formidable box office pull.

Addressing media queries, the makers clarified a key concern raised by fans regarding the aged Prabhas character briefly seen in the trailer. The team confirmed that a four-minute episode featuring this character has now been added to the film. According to the producers, the sequence could not be included earlier due to technical server issues during final delivery. To accommodate the scene without disrupting the narrative flow, a few other portions were trimmed. This clarification has helped clear major speculation surrounding the film’s content.

Director Maruthi also announced that ticket prices will return to normal levels starting Monday. He urged audiences to watch the film over the weekend and stated that regular pricing would be implemented thereafter, although it remains to be seen whether distributors will uniformly follow this decision.

Despite the mixed initial response, the team’s swift corrective measures have been viewed positively within trade circles. Addressing audience feedback promptly, rather than ignoring it, appears to be a sensible move by People Media Factory. The makers also dismissed social media rumours, confirming that the aged Prabhas look will not appear in the film’s second part, as it is already included in the current version.

With multiple new releases lined up from Monday onwards, the ongoing weekend is crucial for The Raja Saab. If occupancy levels remain stable, the film’s collections could see further growth. While the team maintains that audiences are responding positively to the updated version, a clearer picture is expected to emerge over the next four to five days.

Sankranthi 2026: Telugu Films Shine in North America with Strong Advance Sales

Share

The Sankranthi festival is just around the corner, and Telugu cinema fans are gearing up for an entertaining holiday season. The festive period has already seen impressive performances at the North American box office, with Raja Saab and Mana Shankar Vara Prasad Garu leading the charge.

Naveen Polishetty’s upcoming release Anaganaga Oka Raju is also showing strong pre-release traction. Known for hits like Agent Sai Srinivasa Atreya, Jaati Ratnalu, and Miss Shetty, Mr Polishetty, Naveen has established a solid market in the USA. The film, falling under the fun and entertainment genre, has scored over $100,000 across 203 locations for 387 shows, with 6,805 tickets sold—making it poised to become his biggest overseas premiere yet.

Meanwhile, Chiranjeevi’s Mana Shankar Vara Prasad Garu has already recorded advance premieres of $600K+, with projections indicating a potential $1M premiere. The growing momentum suggests strong box office prospects, reflecting that NRIs are fully in the Sankranthi festive spirit. Positive word of mouth during the festival weekend could further amplify collections and boost other Telugu releases during this lucrative period.

Overuse of Body Doubles in Films Dilutes Authenticity

Share

The rise of advanced filmmaking technology has made it easier for filmmakers to use body doubles for star actors. While traditionally limited to high-risk stunts, body doubles are increasingly appearing in minor scenes, songs, and sequences, often with the actor’s face digitally superimposed. This overuse is becoming noticeable to audiences, creating a sense of artificiality and reducing the immersive cinematic experience.

Fans value authenticity on the big screen, and when too many scenes feature doubles rather than the actors themselves, the result feels less genuine and overly manufactured. If this trend continues, it risks diminishing audience engagement and box office performance. Filmmakers must strike a balance between convenience and realism to preserve the integrity of cinema.

Prabhas and The Raja Saab: A Crucial Moment of Reflection

Share

Prabhas remains one of the most influential stars in Indian cinema today. Following the monumental success of Baahubali, he emerged as a true pan-Indian icon, carrying immense expectations with every project he signs. His films are now closely scrutinized by fans and critics alike, all hoping to see him in impactful and memorable roles that match his stature.

In recent years, Prabhas’s career has seen both highs and lows. Films such as Saaho, Radhe Shyam, and Adipurush faced criticism for their execution, storytelling, and presentation, leading to questions about his script choices. However, Salaar and Kalki: 2898 AD restored confidence among fans, clearly demonstrating that strong direction and well-defined vision are key to showcasing Prabhas effectively on screen.

With a desire to explore something different, Prabhas ventured into the horror-comedy genre with The Raja Saab, directed by Maruthi. The film marked a new experiment for the actor and also gave the director an opportunity to handle a star of Prabhas’s scale for the first time. Released amid moderate expectations, the film aimed to present Prabhas in a lighter, more unconventional role.

Following its release, The Raja Saab received a mixed response. While some audiences appreciated Prabhas’s willingness to step outside his comfort zone, others felt the film did not fully capitalize on his strengths. Criticism centered on aspects such as his look, dubbing, styling, visual effects, and the overall execution of the story. Many viewers believed that a stronger narrative and tighter presentation could have elevated the film significantly.

Social media has since been abuzz with discussions, reviews, and divided opinions. Fans, in particular, have voiced concern and expressed hope that Prabhas will take this feedback seriously while selecting future projects. The key question now is whether this criticism will reach the star and influence his upcoming decisions.

Currently, Prabhas is reportedly on a short holiday in Italy and is expected to return after the Sankranthi festival. As one of the biggest stars in the country, how he processes audience feedback and chooses his next films will be crucial in shaping the next phase of his career.

Bandla Ganesh to Begin Maha Padayatra from Shadnagar to Tirumala

Share

Producer and Telangana Congress leader Bandla Ganesh is set to undertake a long Maha Padayatra from Shadnagar to Tirumala as an act of devotion and gratitude. The spiritual journey is linked to a vow he made during a critical phase in Andhra Pradesh politics.

When former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu was arrested in the Skill Development case under the previous YSR Congress Party government, Bandla Ganesh prayed to Lord Venkateswara for Naidu’s release without any blemish to his reputation. With Naidu now released and the matter no longer casting a shadow on his image, Bandla Ganesh has decided to fulfill his vow.

The Maha Padayatra will commence on the 19th of this month from Bandla Ganesh’s residence in Shadnagar. He will walk the entire distance to Tirumala, where he will offer prayers and have darshan of Lord Venkateswara.

According to sources, Bandla Ganesh is planning a grand launch for the padayatra, with a large-scale event marking the beginning of the journey. The initiative is expected to attract attention not only for its deep spiritual significance but also for the sheer distance and commitment involved in the walk.

Manchu Manoj’s Auto Ride Moment Wins Hearts on Instagram

Share

Actor Manchu Manoj recently delighted fans by sharing a simple yet heartwarming moment from his personal life on Instagram. In the reel, Manoj is seen travelling in an auto-rickshaw with his wife, Mounika, after his car reportedly broke down unexpectedly. Instead of letting the situation turn stressful, the actor embraced it with ease and humour, choosing an auto ride and even guiding the driver along Hyderabad’s familiar routes.

The video struck a chord with audiences, especially city dwellers who instantly related to the experience. Manoj’s grounded approach and casual interaction reflected an everyday reality that many encounter, making the moment feel authentic and endearing.

Sharing the reel, Manoj added a witty caption: “When the car says ‘not today’… Hyderabad traffic says ‘hop in’.” He also fondly referred to the outing as “Auto Time” with his “one and only,” highlighting the comfort and companionship he shares with his wife. Adding to the charm, Manoj mentioned how Hyderabad’s early mornings and winter weather feel “next level,” making the quiet auto ride even more special.

Controversy: The New-Age Publicity Formula in Indian Cinema

Share

The Telugu film industry has steadily positioned itself at the forefront of Indian cinema—both in terms of filmmaking ambition and box office dominance. While scale, star power, and technical finesse have played a major role, a new and striking trend is now shaping the industry’s promotional landscape: controversy as a calculated marketing strategy.

In today’s overcrowded entertainment ecosystem, making a film is no longer the most difficult task. Reaching audiences and sustaining their attention has become the real challenge. With content flooding theatres, OTT platforms, and social media, visibility is the new currency. Traditional promotions demand massive budgets, often running into crores, with no guarantee of impact. To counter this, some filmmakers have adopted a more provocative approach—manufacturing controversy.

A single poster, a teaser frame, or a deliberately bold scene can ignite intense debates online. What begins as criticism quickly snowballs into nationwide attention, amplified by social media algorithms and news coverage. Even when controversies escalate to formal complaints, police notices, or interventions by social bodies, the film gains unprecedented publicity—often at no additional cost.

Filmmakers like Ram Gopal Varma and Sandeep Reddy Vanga have effectively leveraged this phenomenon. From Arjun Reddy to Animal, Vanga’s films faced sharp backlash over their portrayal of masculinity and relationships. Feminist groups, critics, and online audiences strongly opposed the content, yet the sustained discourse only widened the films’ reach. Vanga’s minimal response to criticism further fueled curiosity, reinforcing the idea that outrage translates directly into visibility.

This approach is no longer limited to one genre or ideology. Aditya Dhar’s Dhoorandhar benefitted from political and nationalistic debates that heightened public interest. More recently, the first look of Spirit and the teaser of Toxic triggered similar reactions, proving that criticism is no longer something filmmakers shy away from—it is actively harnessed.

What once threatened a film’s prospects is now being repurposed as a promotional tool. Controversy has evolved from a risk into a strategy, reshaping how films are marketed and consumed. This trend highlights a significant shift in Indian cinema, where attention—positive or negative—has become the ultimate driver of success.
