Get Ready For A Tough & Ugly Battle On Sankranti 2023!
Big heroes competing against each other during the Pongal season is quite common. This is a trend that has been going on for decades. 2023 is going to be no different with Mega and Nandamuri family heroes locking horns with each. It is not the young generation this time but the senior heroes Megastar Chiranjeevi and Balakrishna who are going to fight with each other. Chiru is arriving with ‘Waltair Veerayya’ while Balayya is all set to hi the screens with ‘Veera Simha Reddy’. They both are releasing on 13th and 12th January respectively.
As we know, Mythri Movie Makers banner is bankrolling both these humongous projects. They are doing their best in satisfying all sections of the audience with their promotional strategies. While both these both flicks are hitting the screens with huge expectations, there is star producer Dil Raju who is arriving with the Telugu dubbed version of his Tamil production venture ‘Varisu’. Starring Thalapathy Vijay in the lead, ‘Maharshi’ fame Vamsi Paidipally has directed this movie. There is a huge buzz around this movie in Tamil Nadu while Dil Raju’s behaviour is creating a lot of buzz about it in the Telugu states as well.
The star producer has reportedly allotted more number of theatres to his own film ‘Varasudu’ rather than giving them equally to all the three heroes. He is pulling all strings to make sure that ‘Varasudu’ gets the same if not more theatres than ‘Waltair Veerayya’ and ‘Veera Simha Reddy’. A lot of people are objecting this and they don’t want such things to happen as it may lead to unnecessary issues among the industry people as well as the fans.
We are aware that Dil Raju made comments on Vijay’s craze and claimed that more theatres should be given to ‘Varisu’ instead of ‘Thunivu’ since Vijay is bigger than Ajith or any other star hero. He received a lot of heat from the Tamil Thambis due to these but it is Dil Raju who is releasing ‘Thunivu’ and ‘Thegimpu’ in the Telugu states. This means that Raju is arriving this Sankranti season with two movies dubbed from Tamil and he is trying to give them more theatres compared to the original Telugu films. This is expected to turn into a tough and ugly fight. Let us wait and see what happens in the next few coming days.
Debut Directors Aiming At Pan-Indian Market Already!
Thanks to Rajamouli, a lot of filmmakers down South are aiming at the pan-Indian market now. Many star directors have become popular all over the nation and our star heroes became huge stars in the North as well. This trend has become quite popular now that even some debut directors are aiming at the pan-Indian market with their first films.
Recently, Adivi Sesh announced his next project titled ‘G2’. This is a sequel to ‘Goodachari’ and it is going to be made on a huge scale. With ‘Major’ becoming a good success in the North as well, Adivi Sesh has planned ‘G2’ on a pan-Indian level and he brought Vinay Kumar Sirigineedi onboard as the director. He worked as the editor for ‘Major’ and he turned into a director for this pan-Indian film. We need to see if he makes a universally appealing debut movie or not.
Editor Garry BH who worked on a lot of notable films in the past is making a pan-Indian action thriller titled ‘SPY’. It has Nikhil playing the lead role. This larger-than-life action entertainer will release across five languages namely Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada. Iswarya Menon is the leading lady opposite Nikhil and Sanya Thakur in an important role. Aryan Rajesh is making his comeback to movies after some gap. Producer K Raja Shekhar Reddy has also provided the story for this flick billed to be a complete action-packed spy thriller, while Sricharan Pakala renders soundtracks. The shooting is going on at a brisk pace and this movie is expected to release in the summer of 2023.
Another debut director who is entering the field with a pan-Indian film is Shakti Pratap Singh. He is a well-known ad filmmaker, cinematographer and VFX aficionado. But his movie with Mega Prince Varun Tej is his first feature film. The untitled movie is called #VT13 for now and Manushi Chillar is the female lead in this project. This patriotic and edge-of-the-seat entertainer showcases the indomitable spirits of our heroes on the frontlines and the challenges they face as they fight one of the biggest, fiercest aerial attacks that India has ever seen. The shooting is currently going on and we need to see how this movie turns out.
Last but not the least, Srikanth Odela. This filmmaker is also aiming at the pan-Indian market with his debut movie ‘Dasara’. Starring Natural star Nani and National award winner Keerthy Suresh in the lead roles, this raw and rustic action drama is being made under a lot of expectations. The shooting is going on at a brisk pace and Nani revealed that the last schedule began a few days back. After this schedule, only one song will be left to be canned. The film Dasara will be released in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi languages on 30th March 2023. Samuthirakani, Sai Kumar and Zarina Wahab are the important cast of the film.
With four debut directors arriving with pan-Indian films, we need to see how many of them become successful and gain humongous craze in the industry.
A Flurry Of Female-Centric Films This Weekend!
With ‘Dhamaka’ still going strong at the box office and no big releases till the Sankranti festive week, this weekend is going to be quite dull with no notable releases. While the re-release of Pawan Kalyan’s ‘Khushi’ is going to keep the theatres busy in many areas with fans flooding to watch the iconic film on big screens once again, there are four women-centric movies that are releasing this weekend.
The first in line is star actress Trisha’s ‘Raangi’. The trailer looked action packed and Trisha will be seen in a kickass role. Produced by Subaskaran under Lyca Productions, the movie’s shooting has been wrapped up in 2020 but it is getting released now. M Saravanan is the movie’s director and the initial reports on this movie are not that positive.
The next film is ‘Driver Jamuna’ featuring Aishwarya Rajesh in the lead role is also hitting the screens. She will be seen as a cab driver in this thriller film directed by Pa. Kinslin. SP Choudhary is the movie’s producer while Ghibran is the music composer.
Kovai Sarala’s ‘Sembi’ is coming out as well and it is a hard-hitting drama made under the direction of Prabhu Solomen. Last but not the least, sultry sire Sunny Leone’s horror comedy named ‘Oh My Ghost’ is getting released and Yuvan R is the director. With four female-centric films coming out on the same day, it is to be seen which film impresses the audience the most.
Tunisha Sharma Death: What Cops Said About Accused In Court?
The whole nation is talking about the suicide case of young actress Tunisha Sharma who is just 20 years. As she already made a space for herself in the small screen space. Many fingers were pointed at her co-star Sheezan Khan who is said to be her boyfriend.
The last rites of the actress were held recently and her family broke down while bidding the last goodbye to the actress. Her family and friends alleged that Sheezan Khan might have played a role in this and that his behavior with Sharma was not that good.
The cops moved the court seeking two more days of custody so that the accused can be grilled. During the arguments, the Police officers are said to have told the court that Tunisha Sharma was depressed due to a breakup and having to work with Kahn made her condition difficult.
Talking about Tunisha Sharma the Police reportedly said that the actress has a sensitive nature and has issues with anxiety. Despite knowing all this Khan entered into a relationship with Tunisha Sharma and broke up. She could not take this and went into depression.
As the accused is facing allegations of abetting her death by suicide, the cops reportedly said that she was in depression with the breakup and she has to work with him despite the breakup.
On the other hand, Tunisha Sharma’s mother reportedly spoke to the news agency ANI and made shocking allegations that he cheated on Tunisha and when she asked about this he slapped her. She also demanded strict punishment for Sheezan Khan.
‘Poonakalu Loading’ Lyric Video: A Complete Mass Overload!
The team of ‘Waltair Veerayya’ has released the much-awaited lyric video of ‘Poonakalu Loading’ song. It is the fourth song from the movie and the three songs which came out before generated a very good response from the audience. There were high expectations on this song right from the beginning and it looks the song is aimed at everyone.
The song is not rich in terms of its lyrical value but the tune composed by Rockstar Devi Sri Prasad is quite addictive. He made sure that everyone taps their foot while listening to this tune. Roll Ride penned the lyrics while it as Ram Miriyala who provided the vocals apart from Megastar and Mass Maharaj lending their voices in the middle.
The carnival set-up and a huge crowd is an added advantage for this mass number and it’s a full meal feast to our eyes to see Chiranjeevi and Ravi Teja shaking their legs together. Sekhar master’s choreography is terrific. While Chiranjeevi looked massy, his get-up brings back the memories of his yesteryear blockbusters Mutha Mestri, Rowdy Alludu etc. Ravi Teja, on the other hand, looks trendy.
Waltair Veerayya’ is hitting the screens worldwide on 13th January. This mass entertainer is directed by Bobby Kolli and there are high expectations on it. Produced by Mythri Movie Makers, Rockstar Devi Sri Prasad is the composing music. Arthur A Wilson is handling the cinematography. Niranjan Devaramane is the editor and AS Prakash is the production designer. Sushmita Konidela is the costume designer. Shruti Hassan is the heroine while Mass Maharaj Ravi Teja is doing a crucial role.
“Hunt” to release on 26 January.
Nitro star Sudheer Babu is playing a cop in his upcoming intense action thriller – ‘Hunt’ which is bankrolled by V Ananda Prasad under Bhavya Creations banner. The film is directed by Mahesh and it is now officially announced for a grand theatrical release on the 26th of January, marking Republic Day.
A striking new poster was also unveiled to publicize the release date. Sudheer Babu sports an intense look in the poster. This film also has Premisthe fame Bharath and Srikanth in cop roles.
Speaking about the release date announcement, the producer V Ananda Prasad said “We’re delighted to be releasing Hunt in theaters on the 26th of January, marking Republic Day. We’re confident of enthralling our audience. Post production has been wrapped and the film is set for grand theatrical release”.
