Akhanda 2 AP Buyers Meet Boyapati Srinu Over Heavy Losses

Buyers who distributed Akhanda 2 in Andhra Pradesh recently met director Boyapati Srinu and apprised him of the financial losses they are facing. During the meeting, the buyers presented region-wise details of the losses incurred and sought his intervention for support.
According to the buyers, the film’s producers had earlier assured them that the Goods and Services Tax (GST) component would be settled in January. Despite this assurance, distributors in Andhra Pradesh continue to face losses of nearly 50 per cent on their investments.
Sources said Boyapati Srinu responded positively and assured the buyers that he would extend all possible help. He also instructed his close associates to initiate discussions with Mango Ram, who played a key role in supporting the film’s release.
As per the plan, Boyapati’s associates, along with a section of the buyers, are expected to meet Mango Ram on Monday. While it remains unclear what decision Mango Ram will take, sources believe he is fully aware of the financial aspects of the release, including the sale value of rights, recoveries made, and the extent of losses suffered.

Supreme Court Dismisses Telangana Govt Plea, Harish Rao Gets Relief in Phone Tapping Case

In a major relief to Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLA and former minister T. Harish Rao, the Supreme Court on Monday dismissed petitions filed by the Telangana government seeking to revive proceedings against him in the alleged phone tapping case.
A bench of the apex court headed by Justice B.V. Nagarathna rejected two Special Leave Petitions (SLPs) filed by the State government against Harish Rao and former Deputy Commissioner of Police Radha Kishan Rao. The bench made it clear that it would not interfere with the earlier orders of the Telangana High Court, which had quashed the FIRs registered against the two.
The case originated from a complaint lodged by real estate businessman Chakradhar Goud at the Panjagutta police station, alleging that his phone was illegally tapped during the previous BRS regime. Based on the complaint, an FIR was registered naming Harish Rao among the accused.
Challenging the FIR, Harish Rao approached the Telangana High Court, which ruled in his favour. The High Court observed that the allegations were not supported by credible material and lacked sufficient evidence to justify the continuation of criminal proceedings, and consequently quashed the FIR.
Aggrieved by the verdict, the Congress-led Telangana government moved the Supreme Court seeking permission to proceed with the investigation against Harish Rao. Appearing for the State, senior advocate Siddharth Luthra argued that the probe should be allowed to continue.
However, the Supreme Court rejected the SLPs, effectively closing the door on further criminal proceedings against Harish Rao in the alleged phone tapping case.
The ruling is being seen as a significant legal and political setback for the Telangana government, while providing substantial relief to the BRS leader, who has consistently denied any role in illegal surveillance.
Kalvakuntla Kavitha Announces Telangana Jagruthi as Political Party, Alleges Humiliation in BRS

Kalvakuntla Kavitha turned emotional during her final speech in the Telangana Legislative Council on Monday, announcing that Telangana Jagruthi, the organisation she heads, will be transformed into a full-fledged political party.
The daughter of former Chief Minister and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) president K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR), Kavitha alleged that she was subjected to severe humiliation within the party. Having been suspended from BRS, she resigned as a Member of the Legislative Council in September last year and urged the Chairman to formally accept her resignation during her farewell address.
Kavitha recalled that she had floated Telangana Jagruthi as a cultural organisation during the Telangana movement and said the time had now come to give it a political shape. She asserted that the new party would work for students, the unemployed, and all sections of society, and vowed to return to the Legislature as a strong political force.
“I am going out of the House as an individual, but I will return as a political force,” she declared, adding that Telangana Jagruthi would contest the next elections and emerge as a major political player in the State.
Appealing to the people for their blessings, Kavitha said she chose to step out after snapping ties with her paternal home, citing the humiliation she endured. Rejecting allegations by Congress leaders that she quit BRS due to disputes over assets, she clarified that her fight was for self-respect, not property.
She alleged that certain individuals close to KCR conspired against her, leading to her political marginalisation and eventual exit from the party. According to her, restrictions on her freedom began soon after she organised the Bathukamma celebrations following the formation of Telangana in 2014.
“I worked with complete sincerity and fulfilled every responsibility assigned to me. I was targeted for raising questions,” she said, questioning how democracy could survive in the State when the ruling party itself lacked internal democracy.
Kavitha accused BRS of abandoning her during her legal battles with the Enforcement Directorate and the CBI in connection with the Delhi excise policy case. She alleged that the BJP orchestrated her arrest as part of a political vendetta against KCR.
She further claimed that corruption was rampant in the party and the government, alleging irregularities in projects ranging from the Telangana martyrs’ memorial to the construction of district Collectorates. Citing the Siddipet Collectorate being washed away in a single rain, she questioned the quality of public works.
The former MP said she had fought within the party for pensions for Telangana movement participants and alleged that BRS failed to give due recognition to martyrs. She also accused the party of abandoning the core ideals of the Telangana movement — “water, funds, and jobs.”
Kavitha noted that when allegations surfaced against KCR over the Kaleshwaram project, no senior party leader came forward to defend him. “That is why I had to call a press meet, speak out, and name those involved in corruption,” she concluded.
Poonam Kaur Alleges Political Threats and Personal Trauma

Actress Poonam Kaur, who hails from Punjab and carved a notable space for herself in Telugu cinema, has made disturbing and emotional revelations in a recent interview. Despite a slowdown in film offers over the years, Poonam chose to continue living in Hyderabad, staying closely connected to the industry that gave her recognition.
Over time, her name frequently surfaced in political discussions, largely due to her sarcastic and outspoken social media posts targeting certain film personalities. However, Poonam has now opened up about the intense pressure and alleged threats she claims to have faced from political circles behind the scenes.
She revealed that at one point, a group of individuals from Kadapa allegedly approached her with a demand: they wanted her to hold a press meet and speak against a particular actor. According to Poonam, the group initially tried to bribe her with money, and when that failed, they allegedly offered her a political position. When she firmly refused both offers, she claims the situation took a dark turn. Poonam alleged that she was threatened with the release of nude videos in an attempt to intimidate and coerce her into complying.
She said this was the first time she had spoken publicly about the incident, adding that she had silently carried the trauma for years, sharing it only with her family.
Poonam also spoke emotionally about the personal damage she claims was caused by statements made by former YSRCP leader Posani Krishna Murali. She said his public remarks about her deeply affected her personal life at a critical time. According to Poonam, she was considering marriage then, but after the press meet and the controversy that followed, her life took a painful turn. She stated that she suffered significant personal loss and was pushed into a situation where she had no choice but to quietly endure the fallout, with the impact extending far beyond her professional career.
Her revelations have now sparked serious discussions about power, coercion, and the silent struggles faced by individuals in the film industry.
What Is Deepinder Goyal’s ‘Temple’ Device? Zomato Founder’s Experimental Brain Wearable Explained

Zomato founder Deepinder Goyal recently sparked widespread curiosity after appearing on Raj Shamani’s Figuring Out podcast on January 3, 2026, with an unfamiliar device attached to his temple. The unusual gadget quickly became a talking point across social media, with many viewers speculating whether it was a futuristic health wearable.
The device was later revealed to be “Temple,” an experimental health-tech wearable currently under development by companies linked to Goyal, including Zomato’s parent entity, Eternal. While still in the testing phase and not available for consumer use, the wearable has already generated significant buzz for its ambitious goals.
According to Goyal, Temple is designed to monitor cerebral blood flow and brain activity in real time, offering deeper insights into brain health. Reports suggest the device uses advanced sensors and artificial intelligence to collect and analyse brain circulation data. This information could help researchers and medical professionals better understand cognitive behaviour, stress levels, mental fatigue, and focus.
Temple is closely tied to Goyal’s Gravity Ageing Hypothesis, a theory that proposes gravity as a silent contributor to human ageing. The hypothesis suggests that because humans spend most of their lives standing or sitting upright, blood flow to the brain is subtly restricted over time, potentially accelerating ageing across the body.
To explore this theory, Goyal has reportedly invested over $25 million (approximately ₹225 crore) into long-term research and development. Temple is expected to play a key role in validating this hypothesis by offering continuous data on how the brain functions under gravitational stress.
While Goyal has teased the wearable on social media, he has clarified that Temple remains an experimental research device. Still, its public appearance has reignited discussions around whether “brain blood flow” could emerge as a key health metric in the future, much like heart rate or sleep tracking today.
Sarvam Maya Brings Nivin Pauly Back to the Top

Malayalam actor Nivin Pauly has finally secured a major blockbuster after nearly a decade, marking a significant turnaround in his career. His latest film, Sarvam Maya, released on December 25, 2025, as a Christmas treat for fans, and has emerged as a box-office sensation across Kerala.
The supernatural comedy has grossed over ₹100 crore within just 10 days, firmly re-establishing Nivin Pauly as a bankable star. The film features Riya Shibu in a pivotal role, and her performance has received strong critical acclaim. The narrative largely revolves around her character and Nivin Pauly’s role as an atheist who unexpectedly becomes a priest, leading to a series of engaging and humorous situations.
Nivin Pauly’s performance has also been widely appreciated by critics, playing a key role in the film’s impressive box-office run. With this success, he has once again entered the spotlight alongside contemporaries like Tovino Thomas and Basil Joseph, who currently dominate headlines in the Malayalam film industry.
It is worth noting that Nivin Pauly had struggled for consistency in recent years, with his last major blockbuster being Premam (2015). At the time, many believed he would emerge as a pan-India star, but a series of poor script choices stalled his career momentum. Sarvam Maya, however, marks a strong comeback and restores confidence in his box-office pull.
Encouragingly, Nivin Pauly already has a busy lineup ahead. He is currently working on five upcoming projects, including two Tamil films, signalling a renewed phase in his career. Fans and trade circles alike are hopeful that he continues this successful streak in the coming years.

Suman Offers Balanced View on Sivaji–Anasuya Controversy
The ongoing controversy between actor Sivaji and television anchor Anasuya continues to evoke strong reactions from film personalities, with opinions divided across the industry and social media. The issue began after Sivaji’s remarks on actresses’ clothing choices sparked widespread debate.
Veteran actor Suman has now weighed in, offering a measured and nuanced perspective. While he clearly stated that Sivaji’s choice of words was inappropriate and unacceptable, Suman also noted that the actor had already issued an apology for his remarks.
At the same time, Suman urged that the discussion be viewed from a broader perspective. Drawing examples from senior actresses and dancers such as Silk Smitha, Jayamalini, and Vijayalalitha, he observed that although they appeared in bold costumes on screen as part of their roles, they maintained a simple and dignified lifestyle off screen.
Suman emphasised that cinema and personal life are two different spaces and that artists must clearly understand this distinction. He recalled that earlier generations of actors approached cinema with a high level of discipline and professionalism, knowing when certain attire or behaviour was appropriate and when it was not.
Highlighting the need for maturity and guidance, Suman added that such understanding often develops over time, particularly among younger artistes. He suggested that constructive dialogue, rather than prolonged confrontation, would help the industry move forward.
Suman’s remarks have since gone viral, adding a fresh and reflective dimension to the Sivaji–Anasuya controversy, which continues to remain a hot topic in Telugu cinema circles.
