Is Nagarjuna The 3rd Option This Dasara Season?
As we know, three films are locking horns with each other during the Dasara festive season. Megastar’s ‘Godfather’, Nagarjuna’s ‘The Ghost’ and Bellamkonda Ganesh’s ‘Swathumuthyam’ are hitting the screens on 5th October. Coming out on the same day is what made everything really interesting about this box-office race.
As expected, Megastar’s film is the frontrunner of the three. The star image, big cast and interesting promotional content managed to bring a lot of hype on this project. On the other hand, Nagarjuna pinned a lot of hopes on ‘The Ghost’. The release trailer and the theatrical trailer got a very good response. The promotional material of ‘Swathimuthyam’ by Sithara Entertainments banner has also generated a good buzz.
All three films are trying to get the best out of the Dasara season. They are all busy with promotions and the advance bookings have also opened. The trend in advance bookings suggest that the ‘Godfather’ is a film that the audience are more interested in. The advance bookings are quite high in the Telugu states as well as the overseas.
But it is Nagarjuna’s ‘The Ghost’ which is not getting the desired collections through advance bookings. A lot of shows are still in green zone In the BookMyShow app. The situation is the same in both the Telugu states and it is worse in the overseas market. Out of 118 shows in 80 locations only 1055 tickets got sold.
Nag’s biggest disaster ‘Officer’ got $27k through its premieres. If ‘The Ghost’ doesn’t show any improvements, it may post even low numbers. Nag’s films have not performed well at the box office in recent times. This is the reason why the audience are not showing interest in ‘The Ghost’. They are waiting for the talk to come out first.
The team is quite confident regarding the output and we need to see what happens. Nag will be seen as the Interpol officer in this film. Sonal Chauhan who appeared as Nagarjuna’s subordinate offered a glamor feast along with taking part in some kickass action sequences. While Gul Panag played Nagarjuna’s sister, Anikha Surendran appeared as his niece.
Directed by Praveen Sattaru, Cinematography is handled by Mukesh G, wherein Brahma Kadali is the art director. Dinesh Subbarayan and Kaecha are the stunt directors. Mark K Robin who is an expert in scoring music for action and thriller movies deserves special mention for his background score. This project is bankrolled by Sree Venkateshwara Cinemas LLP and Northstar Entertainment Banners. Praveen Sattaru is the director.

The freshers suffered a big shock as they came very close to getting appointed. They were only one step short of landing their dream job. While the freshers were waiting for the joining date to arrive, the IT firms gave a big shock to them by reportedly revoking the offer letters.

Some party sources say that there is no cooperation whatsoever from Komatireddy Venkat Reddy. Meanwhile, there is also an attempt to put all the blame for the defeat on TPCC chief Revanth Reddy.
The yatra would traverse through Telangana for a period of 13 days and it largely coincides with the peak stage of election campaign for Munugode. With most of the leaders busy with the yatra, the Congress campaign is likely to suffer. Sources say that there would be no change in the yatra itinerary for a mere bypoll.
Content is the king and Swathimuthyam’s unique concept is its USP: Ganesh
Ganesh, the scion of Bellamkonda family is all set for his maiden venture, Swathimuthyam. The actor is trained in the USA and believes that content is the only crowd puller. In Swathimuthyam, he is paired with Varsha Bollamma and the movie is slated for release this Dussehra. The family entertainer is directed by Lakshman K Krishna and has a stellar cast of Naresh, Rao Ramesh, Subbaraju, Vennela Kishore, Harshavardhan, Pammi Sai, Sapthagiri, Goparaju Ramana, Siva, among others. Produced by Suryadevara Naga Vamsi, Swathumuthyam is coming to win the audience’s hearts on October 05.
Here are the excerpts from Ganesh Bellamkonda’s interaction with media.
On the journey to movie industry
I wanted to be an actor since childhood. I took it seriously in 2016 and pursued an acting course in Mumbai in 2017. Later on, I went to the US to learn the nuances of acting and started listening to movie stories from 2019. Swathimuthyam happened in 2022.
How Swathimuthyam happened?
I got to know director Lakshman Krishan through common friends, and he narrated the story of Swathimuthyam. We laughed a lot during the narration, and I took this project to Sithara Entertainments. Vamsi garu also liked this story and it got started.
Why did you choose a class film?
I believe that story drives a film rather than other elements. I don’t believe in fights and action. Movie has to be a good one and there are no other specifications to it.
With whom can you relate with this character?
The behaviour of Balamuralikrishna from Swathimuthyam is different from what I am. There is a stark contrast. There are no inspirations to the character. I just live the journey.
Any suggestions from your brother?
He always thought I could manage on my own. So nothing much came from my brother.
How Swathimuthyam is unique?
Post covid the audience preferences are sky high. They want some unique concept in all the films. So, when Lakshman told me about the USP of the film, that instantly hit me. You have to watch the film to experience it.
How was your experience during the shoot?
Movie sets are not new to me. I also oversee production in our banner. I liked the environment of shoots and movies are my first love. So grabbed the acting opportunity. Only thing that was new to me was facing a camera. I was into acting classes and I know how to act in a midshot and closeup and how to show different variations in acting. So the shoot has been a pleasant experience for me.
Is this movie related to Vicky Donor?
Both are not related. Maybe the sperm donation can be common, but everything is new. It’s just there for 10 mins and rest is a different story. So, please don’t draw any parallels.
How is the entertainment quotient in Swathimuthyam?
There is no forced comedy and it’s all situational comedy. It’s high on entertainment and it appeals to all classes.
How was the experience working with senior actors?
Happy to work with so many seniors. Acting is mutual and the conversations make acting. It helped me learn a lot working with seniors.
What was your father’s reaction?
He also fell in love with the subject. And asked me to do it.
Why were you not launched in your own banner?
I always wanted to get launched in another banner. And I got a wonderful opportunity to be launched in Sithara. They are making a lot of family entertainers. I also knew Vamshi since a long time.
How was the makeover from production to acting?
As I told, I was learning acting since a long time. I learnt dance and martial arts with my brother but couldn’t put them to use in Swathimuthyam. Maybe in forthcoming movies you can see all of them.
What are your favourite genres?
I like RomComs and want to do many genres. Even I can do action like my brother did.
Why weren’t you launched in a big budget and with big director?
I only believe in story but not budgets and directors. So, Swathimuthyam happened. I wanted to be close to all the family audience. And I don’t want to get typecast in any role. I want to be in different shades of character. My next movie is a thriller titled “Nenu Studentâ€. It will release in a few months.
On releasing the movie along with Chiranjeevi and Nagarjuna
I am happy to see my movie poster next to biggies. Dusserhra is a big festival and there is a scope for many films.
What are your interests?
I like Cinematography, direction and want to be in all the departments.
Have you watched Swathimuthyam?
We are watching this evening in a small screening with friends, family and media.
Are the situations conducive for newcomers?
Content is the king. Everyone is watching a lot across languages and genres. So, it’s a level playing field. New actors or directors have a good chance to make it big in the movie world.
On acting with your brother?
If the script demands and there is some equal scope to both of us, I would love to do a movie with my brother.
On listening to new stories
I am listening to a lot of stories. I am done with 40-50 film stories. If I like any script, it moves to my father.
Any uneasy situations during the shoot of Swathimuthyam
Situations and scenes are close to real life. I was living the moment. How to behave with different people – father, mother, and girl I just met. Though Varsha is a senior to me, she was very grounded. So there were no uneasy situations during the shoot.
How was the middle-class life saw in the film?
We were not rich from lineage. My father worked as an Asst cameraman, production manager, and we moved up. I experienced the middleclass life and love those moments. My mother also brought me in such a way that we value everything in life.

Venkatesh. I watched “Raja†countless times. Venky sir also worked in many of our productions.
Mani Ratnam Passes ‘PS – 1’ Test Despite Bad Talk!
Mani Ratnam is a brand that has a cult following. His filmmaking and storytelling has a separate fanbase. He is one of the very few South Indian directors who took the nation by storm in the 80s and ’90s with his game-changing movies like ‘Nayagan’, ‘Roja’, ‘Bombay’, ‘Dil Se’ and others. He is known for his visual brilliance and layered characters. But the veteran is struggling to find a hit in last decade or so.
Films like ‘Raavan’, ‘Kadali’, ‘Cheliya’ and others were huge failures. Though ‘Ok Bangaram’ and ‘Nawab’ did decently, they were not up to the standards which Mani Ratnam set for himself. At this crucial juncture, he announced his dream project ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ and decided to make it in two parts. The first part came out on 30th September after passing through a lot of hurdles.
It was clear that the Telugu audience did not like this film. ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ was a novel that was published as a serial for five years back in the day. There are over 50 characters in this novel and Mani Ratnam had to trim down a lot of them in order to make it presentable for a movie.
There are reports that the team sold two parts at the same time. The digital rights and OTT rights were sold for more than 100 crores but we all know the star cast involved and the money which went into the film’s making. The budget was quite high but the collections in Tamil Nadu are very good. The buzz is not that great in other parts of the country.
The Hindi version fetched 7.5 crores at the end of the first weekend and Mani Ratnam’s films usually do more than that. But the heavy Tamil flavor and low promotions did not help the film’s box-office prospects. How can the Northerners understand what the Telugu audience failed to get? The makers claim that they earned a gross of over 200 crores. Though Mani Ratnam couldn’t meet the expectations, he managed to restore his pride and one can predict that more people would find it interesting when they watch it on the OTT platform as they can playback the scenes till they understand the intricacies.
God Father to have ten surprising characters: Mohan Raja
Megastars Chiranjeevi’s ‘God Father’ is arriving on October 5. Directed by Mohan Raja, it is known that the political thriller is the remake of the Malayalam super hit film ‘Lucifer’. Going by trailer, we can see that God Father follows Lucifer’s screenplay.
However, Mohan Raja says that he has written a fresh screenplay for Godfather. “The remake of Lucifer was brought up during discussions of Dhruva-2. Producer NV Prasad suggested my name to helm this project. I watched Lucifer before I met them. I found a new perspective in it. I shared the same with Chiranjeevi. The ace actor was impressed with the angle and asked to work on the script. Along with the hero, the Telugu version will have ten new characters, which will also win in the movie. These characters will be a big surprise for the audience. If you have time, watch Lucifer again before watching God Father” said Mohan Raja.
Apart from Chiranjeevi, God Father will also feature Salman Khan, Nayanthara, Satyadev and Samuthirakani, among others in key roles.
Bandla Ganesh admits abusing Trivikram
We know Bandla Ganesh is quite popular for his controversial statements and energetic speeches about Powerstar Pawan Kalyan. It is not an exaggeration to say that fans of PSPK eagerly wait for Bandla’s speech at the Janasenani movie events.
Bandla’s speech effect worked well at the Vakeel Saab event. But during the time of Bheemla Nayak, there was a slight change. In an unexpected twist, the actor-producer hasn’t got the invitation from the movie team and they kept him away from the event.
It is heard that Trivikram purposely avoided Bandla as the director thought that the comedian’s speech may overshadow him. In the following suit, Bandla Ganesh abused Trivikram on a phone call and the audio file has gone viral. But then, Bandla denied abusing the filmmaker.
When asked about the same in an interview recently, Bandla Ganesh claimed full responsibility. “That voice clipping is mine. I am the one who cursed Trivikram. But later, I apologised to him,” he said.
Centre’s Big Move In Dealing Online Gambling And Betting!
The Indian government has been dealing the online betting and gambling apps with an iron fist. At regular intervals, the government has been missing new guidelines for these websites. In a big move, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has issued new advisories to the OTT platforms and others.
Given the popularity of online rummy and gambling, the platforms which offer services are paying a good amount for the OTT platforms and the TV channels to play the ads on the betting apps. Looking at these ads, people are downloading the apps and using these apps.
But now, the OTT platforms and the TV Channels were issued directives to not push advertisements that promote gambling. Having issued the directives, the Information and Broadcasting Ministry said that if the platforms won’t follow, then they might have to face action.
After seeing that, the advertisements promoting gambling activities are appearing on OTT platforms and a few TV channels, the Ministry said that the ads did not stop and that there is a need to stop these advertisements from appearing on the platforms.
The new guidelines can be seen as a big development in cut shorting gambling activities and the advertisements that are appearing on the platforms. If the ads won’t appear on the channels, then the chances of new people getting into gambling activities are very less.
We cannot say that gambling activities will be stopped after the new advisories. But the activities will be stopped by a margin and this can be seen as a big development in the war against gambling activities. Once the new advisories give good output, then the government and the Information and Broadcasting Ministry might issue a few more guidelines in rooting out gambling and online betting from society.
“In accordance with the Paragraph 9 of the Guidelines for Prevention of Misleading Advertisements and Endorsements for Misleading Advertisements 2022 under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, it has been observed that since betting and gambling is illegal, advertisements of online offshore betting and gambling platforms are prohibited,” Information and Broadcasting Ministry said in the release directing OTTs and Tv Channels.
