Keerthy Suresh Faces Setbacks in Telugu Cinema; Looks Ahead to Vijay Deverakonda Project

Keerthy Suresh’s career seems to be facing one setback after another, particularly in Telugu cinema, where she has struggled to achieve the recognition she had hoped for.
Her latest film, Revolver Rita, has unfortunately not worked in her favor. Despite promoting the film in Telugu for a day, the movie failed to make an impact. Many audiences weren’t even aware of its release, and the content didn’t resonate, causing the film to collapse at the box office on its very first day.
As a result, Keerthy Suresh finds herself once again searching for a success to revive her momentum. Her recent film Uppu Kappurambu went directly to OTT, while her previous project, Raghu Thatha, also failed to perform well.
In terms of theatrical Telugu releases, she hasn’t appeared in a film since Bholaa Shankar. After a significant gap, she is now returning to Telugu cinema and is currently working on a new movie with Vijay Deverakonda.
Hero Nikhil’s Swayambhu Set for Grand Release on Maha Shivaratri

Hero Nikhil’s highly ambitious project, Swayambhu, has completed shooting and is set for a grand release on February 13th, coinciding with the auspicious occasion of Maha Shivaratri. The recently unveiled poster and the making-of video, Rise of Swayambhu, have offered audiences a glimpse into the immense effort and dedication of the cast and crew, instantly generating excitement among cinegoers.
The film has already created a strong buzz, with its overseas rights sold to Phars Films for a record-breaking ₹7 crore—the highest-ever overseas deal for Nikhil. Films of such scale traditionally perform exceptionally well in international markets, and Swayambhu is expected to continue this trend, highlighting Nikhil’s growing global appeal.
Starring Samyuktha and Nabha Natesh as the leading ladies, the film is directed by Bharat Krishnamachari and produced by Bhuvan and Sreekar of Pixel Studios, with Tagore Madhu presenting. Crafted with a high budget and top-notch technical finesse, Swayambhu promises to be a cinematic spectacle that reflects the grandeur and ambition of its makers.
Priyanka Mohan Shines in New Photos, Gears Up for Major Spy Drama

Priyanka Mohan appears to be in a strong phase of her career. The actor has recently joined the cast of 666 Operation Dream Theatre, a 1980s spy drama directed by Hemanth M Rao. The film brings together an impressive ensemble featuring Kannada icon Dr. Shiva Rajkumar and Dhananjaya, making it one of the more exciting collaborations in the pipeline. Priyanka expressed that she had always hoped to work with Rao, though she didn’t expect the opportunity to arrive this soon. The team is set to begin its third schedule in the first week of December, signalling steady progress on the project.
At the same time, Priyanka caught social media’s attention with a fresh set of photos. Dressed in a soft, ruffled white outfit against a backdrop of clear blue sky, she exudes a calm, sunlit elegance. The look is understated yet captivating—her pearl earrings, free-flowing hair, and relaxed expression lend a natural, effortless charm to the visuals.
With a major film on the horizon and her style choices resonating strongly with audiences, Priyanka Mohan seems to be embracing a confident high point in her journey, without seeking the spotlight too loudly.
AP Launches “Amravati Quantum Mission” to Train 50,000 Students

The Andhra Pradesh Government has launched an ambitious skill-development initiative titled the Amravati Quantum Mission, aimed at empowering 50,000 young learners with advanced capabilities in quantum technologies and aligned digital domains. Developed in collaboration with leading global and domestic experts, the mission focuses on high-demand areas such as quantum computing, artificial intelligence, data science, and cybersecurity.
Through this programme, B.Tech, degree, and intermediate students across the state will receive structured online training via the learn.qubitec.io platform. The initiative is divided into two phases. Phase-1 will onboard 3,000 students into a 32-hour foundation programme delivered fully online, featuring weekly modules, continuous assessments, and a final evaluation. To ensure widespread accessibility, the government has set the fee at an affordable ₹500, enabling students from diverse socio-economic backgrounds to participate with only basic computer and internet access.
Top performers from Phase-1 will advance to Phase-2, a comprehensive and free advanced training module offered to approximately 3,000 shortlisted candidates. This phase will deepen their understanding of quantum mechanics for computing, quantum algorithms, quantum-safe cryptography, and practical applications across industries such as finance, healthcare, and logistics.

Thaman’s Powerful Tribute to Balakrishna at Akhanda 2 Event

Music director S. Thaman delivered an emotional and power-packed speech at the Akhanda 2 pre-release event, expressing his deep admiration for Nandamuri Balakrishna and sharing insights into the film’s music. Speaking candidly, Thaman said that watching Balakrishna appear as Lord Shiva on the 70mm screen would leave audiences clapping instinctively.
He described composing for Akhanda 2 as a spiritual experience, adding that the journey felt like “going to a temple.” Recalling the massive effort put in by the team, he highlighted how Balakrishna shot the climax action sequence in the freezing temperatures of Georgia. Thaman also thanked producers Ram and Gopi, acknowledging their unwavering support and increased budget, and compared it to the faith they showed in him during Dookudu, a film that significantly boosted his career.
Sharing lighter moments, Thaman revealed that the iron trident used in the film weighs more than ten kilograms and praised Balakrishna for carrying it with ease during intense scenes. He added that he is working on more films with Balakrishna as well as director Gopichand Malineni, promising to carry the fans’ expectations “in his heart.”
With his trademark humour, Thaman even warned theatres to “check their speakers,” saying the film’s soundscape is as loud and powerful as a temple aarti. He also acknowledged other actors who portrayed Lord Shiva on screen, including Chiranjeevi in Sri Manjunatha, Akshay Kumar in Kannappa, and Ranbir Kapoor in Brahmastra, noting how each brought a unique intensity to the role.
Dulquer Salmaan Strikes Back with Powerful First Look from I’M GAME

Dulquer Salmaan, still reeling from the underwhelming performance of Kaantha, has wasted no time shifting gears. Instead of dwelling on the setback, the actor has energized his fan base with the striking first-look poster of his upcoming film I’M GAME. The poster, released online, immediately signaled a bold comeback.
Dulquer appears in a gritty, high-intensity avatar—dressed in a sharp suit, blood on one hand, a gun in the other, and seated confidently on a vivid red couch that exudes dominance. Various characters positioned around him hint at a narrative steeped in crime, conflict, and layered drama. Though Dulquer has not revealed specific plot details, the imagery alone has sparked excitement, with fans hailing it as his “comeback mode.” His Instagram caption, a simple yet impactful “R E A D Y ??”, was enough to set social media abuzz.
His previous release, Kaantha, set in 1950s Madras, explored the strained dynamic between rising star Mahadevan (Dulquer) and his mentor Ayya (Samuthirakani). Despite a strong ensemble that included Bhagyashri Borse and Rana Daggubati, the film faced mixed reviews and controversy, with many speculating it was inspired by MKT—claims Dulquer and Rana repeatedly denied. The film’s release was also delayed to allow Lokah: Chapter 1 – Chandra, which Dulquer produced, to continue its successful run in theatres.
With I’M GAME, Dulquer appears ready to reset the momentum. His raw, rugged look has already revived anticipation among audiences, who hope this marks a powerful return to winning form.
Niharika Konidela Turns Heads in a Red Saree During Goa Break

Goa is usually synonymous with swimsuits, shorts, and easy beachwear, but actor-producer Niharika Konidela chose to break the pattern with refreshing confidence. Spotted in Panjim, she stood out effortlessly in a red floral saree, embracing a look that blended tradition with holiday charm.
Her ensemble featured a sleeveless blouse, pearl accessories, a sleek high ponytail, and dainty matching earrings—finished with a pair of sunglasses that added a modern twist. The soft winter sunlight enhanced the vibrancy of her saree, giving the entire look a warm, breezy aesthetic. Nothing felt overly curated; it had the ease of someone stepping out simply because the weather felt perfect.
While the choice of a saree in Goa may sound unconventional, Niharika carried it with grace, making it feel natural, stylish, and subtly striking.
On the work front, she is currently balancing shoot schedules for her second production venture under Pink Elephant Pictures. The project featuring Sangeeth Shobhan is still in production, with Niharika seamlessly switching between work commitments and short personal breaks like this one.
Tovino Thomas Hints at Role in NTR–Prashanth Neel Film

When asked to comment on the rumours surrounding his involvement, Malayalam star Tovino Thomas stated that he is “not in a position” to speak about his participation in the upcoming NTR–Prashanth Neel film, adding that more clarity would emerge in the future. Such carefully worded responses are typically given only when an actor is already on board internally but is awaiting the official announcement. His statement has therefore been widely interpreted as an indirect confirmation of his presence in this high-profile project.
Tovino, one of the most celebrated and widely followed Malayalam superstars, is recognised as one of South India’s finest performers. His potential collaboration with an acting powerhouse like Jr NTR promises a formidable on-screen pairing. This seems perfectly aligned with director Prashanth Neel’s vision for the film, which is already among the most anticipated action entertainers currently in development in South Indian cinema. The addition of Tovino Thomas is expected to significantly elevate the film’s scale and excitement.
Why Upendra’s Short Role Works Perfectly in Andhra King Taluka

Upendra’s screen time in the film is limited to about 20–25 minutes, yet his role has been widely appreciated by audiences. In Tollywood, casting a major star in such a brief part could have sparked debates among fans about insufficient elevation or underutilisation. In the climax, the fan’s character receives more elevation than the star hero — a creative choice that might have triggered fan wars had a big Telugu hero been cast. But with Upendra, no such issues arose. His grounded public image, humility, and ego-free performance allowed the character to blend seamlessly into the narrative. Telugu audiences are responding warmly to his portrayal, even if perceptions may vary among Kannada viewers.
A small dialogue in the climax has now become a trending discussion point. When Ram shakes hands with Upendra and says, “I heard your hand is soft, it is indeed soft,” viewers were instantly reminded of the iconic moment during Chiranjeevi’s Indra 175-day celebration in 2002, when actor Sunil described Chiranjeevi’s hands as soft. This led some to believe the film indirectly references Chiranjeevi.
However, the movie also includes several unrelated fictional elements — a poster titled Pratijna featuring Upendra instead of Mohan Babu, another poster using Nagarjuna’s Agni Putrudu title, and soft-drink brands like “Cool Cola” and “Lime Up,” which parody Coca-Cola and 7UP. These do not align with the 1980s setting or any real endorsements, making it clear that except for the “soft hand” dialogue, the references are largely imaginary.
Ultimately, Andhra King Taluka is not modeled after any single real-life star. Instead, it captures the emotional bond between Telugu fans and their favourite heroes, celebrating fandom culture rather than pointing to one specific actor.
Rajamouli–Mahesh Babu Film Faces Title Conflict Over ‘Varanasi’4

It is already known that Mahesh Babu and visionary filmmaker SS Rajamouli have joined forces for their much-anticipated global adventure drama, currently titled Varanasi. The film is progressing at a brisk pace, with the promotional campaign already underway. However, an unexpected development has sparked conversation within industry circles — a title conflict.
According to ongoing reports, the title Varanasi had previously been registered by another production house, raising questions about whether Rajamouli’s team can officially retain the name for their film. Amid the growing speculation, an interesting solution is now emerging. Industry sources suggest that the Telugu version might carry the title “Rajamouli’s Varanasi,” while the other language versions could continue to use the simple and impactful title “Varanasi.”
While this narrative continues to circulate, more clarity is expected soon. Given the scale of the project and the global popularity of both Rajamouli and Mahesh Babu, the makers are not expected to face any major hurdles in resolving the matter. In fact, the names alone are powerful enough to draw audiences to theatres in massive numbers.
For now, the team appears focused on the film’s production, paying little attention to the title controversy as shooting progresses actively. Fans can expect more official updates from the makers in the near future.
Malayalam Stars Rise as Top Villains in Tollywood

The trend of actors from various Indian film industries playing antagonists in Tollywood is witnessing a strong resurgence. While Suniel Shetty recently remarked that Telugu cinema predominantly casts Bollywood actors as villains, the reality is far more diverse. Telugu filmmakers have long embraced talent from across the country, and today, five leading Malayalam actors are emerging as powerful on-screen villains in big-budget Telugu films.
Prithviraj Sukumaran is set to clash with Mahesh Babu in Varanasi, portraying a menacing antagonist named Kumbha. At first glance, the character may appear physically impaired, but he is written as a fierce, ruthless villain—one of Prithviraj’s most intense roles in Telugu so far.
Tovino Thomas, another Malayalam star with a massive following, is strongly rumored to play the main villain in Jr NTR and Prashanth Neel’s Pan-World project. Although the team has not officially confirmed the casting, Tovino’s silence has only intensified the excitement among fans.
Fahadh Faasil has already made a solid mark with his chilling portrayal of Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat in Pushpa. His performance proved that he can effortlessly switch between layered protagonists in Malayalam cinema and complex antagonists in Telugu.
Shine Tom Chacko stands next, having built an impressive presence in Tollywood through multiple villain roles. His performances in films like Dasara, Rangabali, Devara, Daaku Maharaj, and the upcoming Robinhood have earned him a strong fan base.
With their versatility, Malayalam stars are demonstrating that they can headline heroic roles in their home industry while simultaneously delivering powerful negative characters in Telugu cinema. This renewed wave highlights Tollywood’s openness to pan-Indian talent and the growing demand for compelling, multi-layered villains on screen.
Rakul Preet’s Maldives Getaway After Lakshmi Manchu’s Friendly Joke

Lakshmi Manchu recently joked that her best friend Rakul Preet Singh had slipped into “married life mode” after tying the knot with producer Jackky Bhagnani—checking with him before saying yes to any outing. It was the kind of affectionate complaint only a close friend can make. And it seems Rakul took it sportingly, because the actress has finally carved out time for a much-needed friends’ getaway.
The latest photos from the Maldives say it all. One group picture, taken at the seaplane terminal, captures the perfect pre-vacation buzz. Dressed in relaxed travel wear, everyone appears refreshed and excited, flashing peace signs and warm smiles. Manchu Lakshmi’s daughter, Vidya Nirvana Manchu Anand, stands at the front with a cheerful grin, while the adults behind her look equally thrilled—already in island mode even before reaching their resort.
Rakul shared these moments while celebrating De De Pyaar De 2 alongside Jackky Bhagnani, Lakshmi Manchu, Vidya Nirvana, Pragya Jaiswal, and a close circle of friends. The charm lies in the simplicity: no curated poses or designer-heavy styling—just a group of people genuinely enjoying a well-deserved break. And judging by the energy in the photos, this tropical reunion is exactly what they all needed.

Raashi Khanna Responds to ‘Commercial Cinema’ Debate
Actress Raashi Khanna has sparked discussion with her recent remarks on the balance between commercial and content-driven cinema. After facing a series of setbacks in Telugu, including her latest release Telusu Kada, the actress opened up in an interview about why she is gravitating more toward Hindi projects and what influences her choice of roles.
Raashi explained that she has acted in numerous commercial films in the South and now seeks strong, story-focused scripts in Hindi. While she clarified that she does enjoy commercial cinema, her comfort level plays a crucial role in selecting projects. “I like commercial films, but only up to a point. I need to feel comfortable with the role. If something crosses my personal limits or makes me feel odd, I’ll say no. Everyone has a comfort zone, so don’t judge anyone,” she said.
Her comments quickly gained traction on social media, leading to varied interpretations. Observers pointed out the irony that Tollywood has delivered some of India’s most acclaimed story-driven blockbusters—such as RRR and Baahubali—yet the criticism of “too commercial” often resurfaces whenever a film underperforms.
Raashi’s recent Hindi outing, 120 Bahadur, a serious war drama, also failed to make an impact at the box office. She now awaits the release of Ustad Bhagat Singh in Telugu. Whether this film marks a turning point in her career or adds to her string of disappointments remains to be seen.
