MP Shashi Tharoor understands why Mahesh Babu is a superstar
Widely famous Congress party MP, Shashi Tharoor met with Mahesh Babu earlier today at Novotel, Hyderabad while the latter was shooting for Sarkaru Vaari Paata.
Tharoor then shared a video of him having a candid conversation with Mahesh Babu and his brother-in-law Jaydev Galla.

Mercedes-Benz’s new car can read your mind
Washington: Automobile giant Mercedes-Benz, recently at the IAA Mobility 2021 show in Munich, Germany, displayed the next iteration of its Vision AVTR concept car, first shown at CES 2020.
According to Mashable, Mercedes-Benz has stated that the car now has tech that lets you perform certain tasks just by thinking about them.
It’s based on visual perception. The car has light dots projected on the car’s digital dashboard, and a BCI (brain-computer interface) device with wearable electrodes will be attached to the back of the user’s head.
After a short calibration period, the device can record and measure brain activity, so when the user focuses on a specific light on a dashboard, the device can detect that and perform a certain task.
This is not something which is just theoretical as visitors of the IAA Mobility 2021 show could try the technology out for themselves by visiting the company’s booth.
The Vision AVTR, a reference to the movie Avatar, in which the protagonists could establish a neural connection with the natural world on the moon of Pandora is Mercedes-Benz’s most futuristic concept.
As per Mashable, the car has no steering wheel, has its back covered in scaly-looking “bionic flaps,” and has wheels that can rotate far enough to allow the car to move sideways, among other futuristic technologies.
Apple confirms September 14 event, expected to unveil iPhone 13
Washington: Apple recently announced that it will be holding an event on September 14. The company is expected to launch the iPhone 13 series during its event titled ‘California Streaming’.
As per The Verge, it will be another virtual event broadcast from Apple Park.
The tech giant typically announces the year’s new iPhones at the fall event, and this year’s entry is expected to be called the iPhone 13. The new series of phones will apparently come in the same sizes as the iPhone 12, but a headline feature for some models could be high refresh rate screens, finally delivering tech that has been available on many Android phones.
The new phones are also expected to have smaller display notches and improved cameras.
It’s hard to pull specific clues from Apple’s event invite, though the darkening sky might suggest we’ll see improved night mode photography. And the glowing Apple logo is maybe hinting toward an always-on lock screen for the iPhone.
If Apple reveals the next iPhone at the event as expected, then it seems likely the company will also share a release date for iOS 15. We already know that one of its biggest features, SharePlay, won’t be included in the initial public release of the software.
Apple has several other projects in the works that could make appearances at the event as well. The next Apple Watch, reportedly called the Apple Watch Series 7, is rumoured to have a new design with flatter edges and larger 41mm and 45mm screens, a 1mm bump from the Series 6.
Apple’s next entry-level AirPods may have a new design that takes cues from the AirPods Pro. New 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros equipped with the company’s custom-designed chips and an SD card slot are also rumoured to be on the way.
The California Streaming event will be live-streamed on Apple.com, which can be viewed through any desktop or mobile browser. Moreover, you can also watch the event on an Apple TV or any device with the Apple TV app.
UK, India in sweet spot’ as trade negotiations begin, says Britain’s trade minister
LONDON: The UK and India are in a “sweet spot” of global trade dynamics as negotiations for a free trade agreement (FTA) begin in the coming weeks, according to Britain’s trade minister in charge of the bilateral talks.
Liz Truss, UK Secretary of State for International Trade, revealed that the public consultation process ahead of the trade negotiations attracted “huge interest” from businesses across the UK and its completion last month means that FTA negotiations can now begin.
Addressing a special reception hosted by the Lord Mayor of London to celebrate the UK-India Economic Partnership on Tuesday evening, the minister confirmed that both sides will “hammer out” the details during the upcoming visit of Commerce and Industry minister Piyush Goyal to the UK and Europe next week.
“We just completed our consultation on an Indian trade deal, which saw huge interest from businesses across the country. We are now going to begin negotiating a free trade agreement,” said Truss.
“I see the UK and India in a sweet spot of the trade dynamics that are building up… We are looking at a comprehensive trade agreement that covers everything, from financial services to legal services to digital and data, as well as goods and agriculture.
We think there is strong possibility for us to get an early agreement, where we lower tariffs on both sides and start to see more goods flowing between our two countries,” she said.
Pointing to the post-Brexit scenario as the UK’s chance to set out an independent trade policy outside the European Union (EU), the senior Cabinet minister flagged India as the “big, major opportunity” ahead following 68 trade deals clinched by Britain since leaving the economic bloc.
She also referenced her visit to India earlier in the year, including a tour of the Serum Institute of India (SII) in Pune which is in a UK tie-up to produce the Oxford University and AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines, as she highlighted collaboration in the field of science and tech as a sign of things to come as that trade route between the UK and India is deepened.
“Like the UK, India is a science and tech superpower… the Serum Institute of India provides two-thirds of the vaccines that inoculate children around the world. That is truly a tremendous achievement,” said Truss.
“Working with India will help enhance the UK’s position as a global hub for digital and services.
But for me it’s about more than that: it’s about two democracies who share values, share an approach to working together to the benefit of both of our populations,” she said.
“In every possible way, we have a hugely strong relationship between our two nations and all I can see is things moving in the right direction.
It’s vitally important that as we want to recover from the COVID crisis across the world, we see more free enterprise and free trade,” she noted.
The trade minister also laid out some developing trends that hold out great promise for the India-UK relationship, including the growing digitisation of global trade.
“The other big trend we are seeing is the growth in the Indo-Pacific region, where a lot of our trade negotiations are oriented towards.
India is expected to have more middle-class consumers than the US by 2030, and they would want to buy the finer things that Britain supplies – whether that’s financial services, insurance, computer technology, high-value food and drink or indeed our advanced manufacturing products,” she pointed out.
Both the minister and the Lord Mayor, William Russell, underlined the Enhanced Trade Partnership (ETP) agreed between Prime Ministers Narendra Modi and Boris Johnson at their virtual summit in May as setting out an ambitious roadmap to at least double bilateral trade by 2030.
“The most innovative and dynamic part of our relationship is in the financial professional services and we at the City of London have done a lot to support that part of the relationship,” said the Lord Mayor – the leader of the financial hub of the UK capital.
“This relationship is only getting stronger, whether that’s through the India-UK 2030 Roadmap announced earlier this year by our Prime Ministers or the work of individual businesses like Barclays Bank, who have invested nearly GBP 300 million to expand their operations in India,” he said.
Describing the bilateral ties as the “investment opportunity of a generation”, the Lord Mayor highlighted the key priorities for the UK-India relationship as enhanced mobility and resumption of business travel between both countries, doubling of financial professional services trade in the next decade and increased green investments to support India’s sustainability and decarbonisation agenda.
Afghanistan’s ‘new reality’ requires world to discard ‘old lenses’: Pakistan Foreign Minister Qureshi
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Wednesday hosted the first ministerial meeting of Afghanistan’s neighbours since the Taliban took over in Kabul, saying that even though the situation in the war-weary country is “complex and fluid”, its “new reality” required the world to discard “old lenses” and proceed with a “realistic approach”.
Qureshi issued a series of tweets as he chaired the first virtual meeting of Foreign Ministers of China, Iran, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan – the neighbours of Afghanistan.
“The situation in Afghanistan remains complex and fluid. We hope the political situation stabilises leading to normalcy soon. The new reality requires us to discard old lenses, develop new insights and proceed with a realistic/pragmatic approach,” he said in one of his tweets.
The meeting comes a day after the Taliban unveiled a hardline interim government led by Mullah Mohammad Hasan Akhund, with key roles being shared by high-profile members of the insurgent group, including a specially designated global terrorist of the dreaded Haqqani Network as the interior minister.
He said that at the centre of the endeavours must remain the well-being of the Afghan people, who have suffered enormously due to conflict for over 40 years.
“In the wake of recent developments, the key priorities are to prevent a humanitarian crisis and to take steps to prevent economic meltdown,” he said.
He said that the participants agreed that peace in Afghanistan will help to “secure borders, end of threat of terrorism from Afghan soil, possibilities of dignified return of refugees to their land, economic stability and improvement in living standards and connectivity/greater regional eco integration.
He appreciated the positive and constructive response to Pakistan’s proposal for a regional approach to respond to the evolving situation in Afghanistan.
“It cannot be stressed enough that this requires enhanced engagement of the international community, particularly at this pivotal juncture.
Our collective voice to the int’l community will reinforce our message of a peaceful, stable and prosperous Afghanistan,” he said.
Earlier, Pakistan’s Foreign Office said that the Foreign Ministers’ meeting on the Afghan issue is taking place at the invitation of Pakistan.
The meet is expected to provide an opportunity to neighbours of Afghanistan to work together for a shared objective of a peaceful and stable Afghanistan, which is essential to forge strong economic linkages and realise connectivity agenda.
The meeting will build upon the discussions, held at the Special Representatives/Envoys level, on September 5.
China, along with Iran, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, took part in the meeting hosted by Pakistan on September 5 to discuss the evolving situation in Afghanistan.
“The participants exchanged views mainly on the situation in Afghanistan, especially cooperation among Afghanistan’s neighbouring countries on the Afghan-related affairs, and maintained communication with Russia, reaching much consensus,” Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin told a media briefing in Beijing about the September 5 meeting.
The neighbours of Afghanistan have a vital stake in the stability of the country.
A peaceful, stable, united, sovereign and prosperous Afghanistan will contribute towards transit trade, people-to-people exchanges and security in the region.
The Taliban seized control of war-torn Afghanistan in mid-August, ousting the previous elected leadership which was backed by the West.
Pakistan has already said before the announcement of the caretaker government by the Taliban that it will not accord recognition to the new government on the basis of regional consensus.

Jagan govt to upload all GOs on new website
Finally, at long last, the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy government has realised that there is no use going in for confrontation with the opposition and the provisions of the Right to Information Act. It has now decided to upload all the GOs and directions online so as to enable the people to access them. On Wednesday, it issued key orders to this effect.
The Jagan Mohan Reddy Government had earlier decided to discard the practice of uploading the GOs of the government on the official website www.goir.ap.gov.in. A circular to that effect was issued by the Principal Secretary of the General Administration Department (GAD) of the state government Revu Muthyala Raju. This created quite a furore in the state. The government has come in for severe criticism on this issue.
Waking up to the criticism, the government, in a major come down, has announced that the GOs would be uploaded on AP E-Gazette. Chief Secretary Adityanath Das has issued orders to this effect on Wednesday. But the government has clearly said that the personal details, expenditure, leaves and other details would not be uploaded.
The decision taken by the Jagan government has now put a lid on the whole controversy over the uploading of the GOs. The public at large are happy that the government has preferred transparency over dictatorial approach. The general public hope that the Government adopts a similar liberal approach on other issues too.

థియేటర్ల సమస్య గురించి నాకు అంతగా తెలీదు. కానీ నేను ఆల్రెడీ ఈ చిత్రాన్ని చూశాను. చాలా బాగా వచ్చింది. వీలైనంత ఎక్కువ మంది ఈ సినిమా చూడాలి. ఇది కచ్చితంగా థియేటర్లో చూసి ఎంజాయ్ చేయాల్సిన సినిమా. కానీ అనుకోకుండా ఇలా కరోనా వచ్చింది. పరిస్థితులు మారాయి. ఇప్పుడు ప్రేక్షకులు థియేటర్లో కూడా ఈ సినిమాను ఎంజాయ్ చేయవచ్చు. ఓటీటీలో చూసి కూడా ఎంజాయ్ చేయవచ్చు.
హైద్రాబాద్ లో నాకు చాలా మంది స్నేహితులున్నారు. షూటింగ్ లు ఇక్కడ చేయక ముందు నుంచే నాకు ఈ సిటీ తెలుసు. నాకు ఇక్కడి ఫుడ్ అంటే ఇష్టం. రోజా నుంచి ఇక్కడి ప్రేక్షకులు నన్ను ప్రేమిస్తున్నారు. ఇక్కడ నాకు ఎన్నో అద్భుతమైన మెమరీస్ ఉన్నాయి. ప్రస్తుతం అన్నీ తమిళ చిత్రాలనే చేస్తున్నాను.. అని తెలిపారు. కరోనా వల్ల ప్రాజెక్ట్ లన్నీ వాయిదా పడ్డాయి. తెలుగు ప్రాజెక్ట్ ల్లో నటించాలని అనుకున్నాను. కానీ ముందు అనుకున్న కమిట్మెంట్స్ వల్ల కుదరడం లేదు. మంచి క్యారెక్టర్ వస్తే అది చిన్నదా పెద్దదా? అని కూడా ఆలోచించడం లేదు. తెలుగులో సినిమా చేయాలని చూస్తున్నా.
Governor upsets TRS apple-cart over Kaushik Reddy’s nomination
Telangana Governor Tamilisai Saundararajan has administered a shock to chief minister KCR on the issue of nominated Governor quota MLCs. She has refused to sign on the resolution of the State Cabinet nominating Kaushik Reddy as the MLC in governor’s quota. It has been nearly six weeks that the resolution was sent to the Governor, but she has not affixed her signature on it.
What more? The Governor has expressed dissatisfaction over forwarding Kaushik Reddy’s name. She said that she neds more time to study the resolution. Thus Kaushik Reddy’s nomination is now in limbo. The Governor, it appears, has objected to a politician being appointed in the Governor’s quota. Earlier, she was asked to send Goreti Venkanna’s nomination for the legislative council. She readily accepted it and affixed her signature.
Kaushik Reddy, a Congress candidate in 2018 assembly elections from Huzurabad, joined the TRS ahead of the bypoll in the constituency. KCR assured to make him the MLC in Governor’s quota. When the cabinet passed a resolution on this, everyone felt his entry into the legislative council is a mere formality. However, Governor Tamilisai threw a spanner in the works by raising objections to a person facing serious cases. Speaking during a media interaction in the Raj Bhavan recently, she expressed unhappiness over Kaushik Reddy being nominated in the social service category.
She said nominating undeserving persons to the council under social service quota was not the right thing to do and felt that the KCR government should re-think on the issue. With this, doubts are now being expressed in the political circles about Kaushik Reddy becoming an MLC. The political observers feel that Governor’s re-assertion must have shocked the TRS top boss too.

Rahul Ramakrishna’s aggressive social media promotions have gained the attention of the netizens and the onus is now on the film to deliver as it premieres on ZEE5 on the 10th of this month. The film stars Avika Gor in the female lead role and is directed by Bhargav Macharla.
RC15: Chiranjeevi’s dream to become reality
The grand launch event of Ram Charan and Shankar’s RC15 was held today. Chiranjeevi, Rajamouli, and Ranveer Singh were the chief guests for the event.

Well, it appears to be that Chiranjeevi had been hoping Ram Charan would work with Shankar and that is turning to reality with RC15 now.
There are rumors that RC15 has been titled Viswambhara, but an official announcement on the same is awaited.
RC15 is tipped to be a political thriller and it has Kiara Advani in the female lead role. Thaman is composing the music for the Ram Charan starrer.
