Uttarakhand Governor Baby Rani Maurya resigns
Uttarakhand Governor Baby Rani Maurya has resigned from her post on Wednesday. She resigned with two years left in her term.
As per reports, the resignation letter of Baby Rani Maurya was sent to President Ram Nath Kovind. The resignation was confirmed by Secretary to the Governor, Brijesh Kumar Sant. However, she reportedly resigned for personal reasons.
Maurya was sworn in as the governor of Uttarakhand on August 26, 2018, taking over from Krishna Kant Paul at the end of his five-year tenure. She had completed three years in office as the governor last month.
Baby Rani Maurya has held many positions in the past. She served as mayor of Agra. She has served as a member of the State Social Welfare Board and a member of the National Commission for Women. Received Samaj Ratna, Uttar Pradesh Ratna and Nari Ratna awards. Her resignation is subject to presidential approval.
Kangana Ranaut wants to romance Prabhas again
We know Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut romanced Prabhas in a Telugu film, Ek Niranjan, which is directed by Puri Jagannadh. However, the film was a disappointment at the box office and the Queen actress shifted her base to Bollywood with no big opportunities in Telugu.
Now, the actress in a recent interview told that wants to make a movie in Telugu again alongside Prabhas. “After many years, I did ‘Thalaivii’ in Tamil. I also want to make a movie in Telugu. I have been in touch with Puri Jagannadh for a long time and asked him for an opportunity to share the screen with Prabhas in his film,” Kangana said.
Kangana’s upcoming film, ‘Thalaivii’ is a film based on the life story of the late Jayalalithaa, the actress and former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. The young actress starred in the titular role. The film will be released in theatres this Friday in several languages, including Telugu.
Kangana Ranaut has also made it clear that she is not interested in politics and her focus is currently on the movies.

Telangana CM orders officials to help flood-affected, stay alert
HYDERABAD: Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, who is in Delhi, reviewed the situation arising out of heavy rains that are lashing the State, on Tuesday. Rao spoke to Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar over phone. He issued instructions that district Collectors and official machinery be put on high alert.

Rao wanted the officials concerned to monitor tanks, lakes and rivulets, which are overflowing due to heavy rains. Similarly, he ordered that power, roads and drainage sectors be monitored as well.
Officials and employees of the Municipal Administration, Panchayat Raj, Roads and Buildings and Electricity departments should stay alert, the CM said. He expressed concern for people living in low-lying areas and asked officials of the Irrigation Department to take up rehabilitation measures.
The NDRF and Disaster Management teams have been put on standby. Rao has asked pubic representatives to stay put in their respective constituencies to coordinate between the administration and people. Later, Somesh Kumar held a tele-conference with collectors of 20 flood-affected districts and took stock of the prevailing situation in the districts.

Pawan Kalyan’s Delhi tour puts a lid on BJP-Jana Sena breakup rumours
At a time when there are furious debates over the continuance of Jana Sena’s alliance with the BJP, Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan sprang a surprise by suddenly landing in Delhi. Though it is being said that he is in Delhi to attend the wedding reception of Union Minister Prahlad Joshi’s daughter, he is likely to have informal conversations with the top guns of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
The meet assumes significance in view of the rumours that Pawan Kalyan was planning to break the alliance with the BJP. Interestingly, neither Pawan nor BJP made any announcements about breaking up of the alliance. But, there was a raging debate in the media that he is planning to align with the TDP. There was talk of a growing divide between the BJP and the Jana Sena. It was being said that both the parties were not in consultation with one another and that there is no coordination while planning protests.
The relations between the BJP and Jana Sena hit the rock-bottom after the April bypolls for Tirupati. After that the party leaders did not even consult one another on any issue. But, a couple of weeks ago, BJP state chief Somu Veerraju and Pawan Kalyan met in a hotel in Vijayawada and discussed several issues. Despite that there were rumours that the alliance was about to break and that Pawan was considering joining hands with the TDP. Amidst all these, Pawan’s Delhi tour happened. The last time Pawan went to Delhi to meet BjP leaders was in February this year.
But, hours before going to Delhi, Pawan Kalyan took on the YS Jagan government for putting curbs on the Ganesha festival in the state. In a strongly worded statement, Pawan Kalyan said that this was a clear case of discrimination against the religious beliefs of the majority community. He said there were no curbs on YSR death anniversary programmes. Now, both Jana Sena and the BJP are speaking in the same tone. This goes to show that the two parties are set to work together on various issues in AP.
#PSPK28: Power packed announcement tomorrow
After Gabbar Singh, director Harish Shankar is collaborating with Powerstar Pawan Kalyan again for a yet-to-be titled film. Tentatively titled #PSPK28, the much-awaited project will see the 50-year-old actor back as the powerful hero.
Mythri Movie Makers, which is backing the project, today made an announcement that a power-packed announcement is on its way for tomorrow at 9:45 AM.
As per the industry sources, #PSPK28 will commence its production shortly and the movie team recently met Pawan Kalyan and took confirmation regarding the same.
Anand Sai has been roped in as the art director and Devi Sri Prasad will compose the film’s music. The makers are yet to finalise the cast and technical crew of the film.

Rahul Gandhi getting ready to become Congress chief again
Clear signals are emanating from the Congress Party that Rahul Gandhi is all set to take over the reins of the party very soon.Rahul had resigned from the post of the party president in the wake of the massive drubbing the party has received in the 2019 elections. Though he has resigned, Rahul Gandhi was performing all the duties that a party chief performs. Now efforts are afoot to formalise this and anoint him as the party chief. The Youth Congress, which recently met at Goa, passed a resolution demanding that Rahul be made the party chief again.
Rahul Gandhi joined the Congress in 2004 and was made its general secretary in 2007. Later, he became the party vice president in 2013. In 2017, he became the party president. But his frequent foreign visits at crucial times and his sudden disappearances have become the talk of the town. His leadership qualities were questioned and there were doubts about his capabilities.
After the Congress Party’s worst ever drubbing, he resigned from the party owning up responsibility for the defeat. Post 2019 elections, the party faced internal dissidence with as many as 23 senior leaders calling for internal democracy and organisational elections. Amid all this, Rahul Gandhi has slowly began consolidating himself by appointing young PCC chiefs in several states such as Kerala, AP, Telangana and Punjab. In Punjab too, he played a key role in patching up the differences between CM Amarinder Singh and PCC chief Navjot Singh Sidhu.
Sources say that the efforts to make him the AICC chief began in February 2020. But, the Corona pandemic has put a stop to these plans. Now, there are clear indications that he would become the party president again sooner than later.
Madras HC vacates injunction against Suriya’s film
Kollywood star Suriya’s most recent release ‘Soorarai Pottru’ was a big hit on Amazon Prime Video. The film, directed by Sudha Kongara, received a lot of appreciation from the audience and critics alike. After the gigantic success, the actor wanted to remake the film in Hindi with the same team.
However, Guneet Monga, the co-producer of ‘Soorarai Pottru’, filed for a stay in the Madras High Court claiming that the contract between her Shikya Entertainment and 2D Entertainment has been violated. The Court initially suggested the two parties to show up at an amicable solution, which did not happen.
Today, the Madras High Court ruled in favour of Suriya’s 2D Entertainment and squashed the stay against the Hindi remake of Soorarai Pottru.
Now that the injunction has been revoked, work on the Hindi remake of Suriya’s much-acclaimed film will resume soon. Director Sudha Kongara Prasad will helm the Hindi remake as well.
