Twitter teases new privacy features
Washington: Microblogging site Twitter is planning to test new privacy features aimed at giving users better control over their follower lists and who can see their tweets and likes.
The social media company confirmed to Mashable that it intends to test a host of new privacy features beginning as soon as next week.
The broad range of tweaks have the potential to rework fundamental aspects of what it’s meant — at least up until now — to have a Twitter account.
“We understand that there’s no one size fits all approach to privacy, so we’re excited to roll out more features and tools to empower people on Twitter to customize their experience,” explained a Twitter spokesperson.
Those new features, as confirmed by a Twitter spokesperson, are wide-ranging and address long-held gripes about the platform. Importantly, not all of them may end up being incorporated into Twitter.
Even so, they suggest that when it comes to user privacy the company is at least aware that more needs to be done (like encrypting direct messages end-to-end).
For starters, the teased features include the ability to automatically hide old tweets after a predetermined amount of time. This isn’t the same as having tweets auto-delete but is a step in the right direction.
Another potential feature is the power to remove specific followers (which users do now by blocking and then immediately unblocking a follower’s account). Yet another is the opportunity to make your likes visible to only certain subsets of users — your followers, everyone, or other as-of-yet undefined groups.
“Our focus on social privacy is inspired by feedback we received through a series of global research studies we conducted to better understand people’s perceptions of and needs for privacy around the globe,” added the spokesperson.
Twitter sadly would not specify which of the above will be tested next week, or where the tests will run.

1. Long press on an empty part of your home screen until you see the pop-up menu.
2. Select “Wallpaper & style.”
3. Select “Change wallpaper.”
4. Tap on one of the categories presented on the Wallpaper screen, and then select a specific image. Or tap on the top button called “My photos” to select one of your own photos.
5. Once you select your image, you’ll be shown a preview of what it will look like on your home screen and lock screen. (Two buttons below the preview image let you toggle between the two.) If you’re satisfied, tap the checkmark in the bottom right corner.
The Family Man Changes Her Fate

A ‘Mega’ Launch For Ram Charan’s RC15
Ram Charan will soon be re-joining the sets of Rajamouli’s RRR as the ace director felt that a couple of shots need to be reshot. This re-shoot will go on for around d 4-5 days and both Ram Charan and Jr NTR will be taking part in the same. Meanwhile, the focus is shifted onto RC15, Ram Charan’s immediate next project after RRR, which will be directed by maverick filmmaker Shankar. The project was officially announced earlier this year and it is set to be launched on the 8th of September in the grandest possible manner. The launch event will be a mega affair and several Tollywood personalities will be attending the same.
As per reports, Bollywood superstar Ranveer Singh will just be one of the chief guests for the event, which will also have many top-tier celebrities from Tollywood in attendance. The makers are planning to launch the film in a grand manner so as to boost the buzz around the project right from the start. As is known, the event will be taking place at a film studio in Hyderabad. Needless to say, Ram Charan and Kiara Advani, who play the lead roles in the film will be attending the launch event.
With the project set to be launched on the 8th of September, we can expect the regular shooting to commence by the end of this month. Ram Charan will be done with RRR reshoot by then and will be available for RC15 shoot, or at least that is what the makers of the Shankar directorial are hoping for.
Dil Raju, who will be funding RC15 has allotted a massive budget for the project and he has asked Shankar to wrap up the entire filming part by the closing stages of 2022 in order to ensure 2023 Sankranthi release for the film. Thaman is already working on the soundtrack for the project. As for Kiara Advani, she has allotted bulk dates for the project. The film will also feature many top Indian actors in important roles. RC15 will be a pan-India project and it will have a socially relevant political theme.
Angelina Jolie worried about women, girls in Afghanistan
BERLIN: Angelina Jolie has expressed concern about the situation of women and girls in Afghanistan.
The actress, who is also a special envoy to the U.N.’s high commissioner for refugees, told a German newspaper Sunday she doesn’t think the incoming government in Afghanistan could simply turn back the clock so that everything would be like 20 years ago. But she still has big worries about the situation for women there.
Jolie told the weekly Welt am Sonntag: “I’m thinking of all the women and girls who don’t know now if they can go back to work or school. And I’m thinking of the young Afghans who are worried that they will lose their freedom.”
Taliban fighters captured most of Afghanistan last month and celebrated the departure of the last U.S. forces after 20 years of war. The insurgent group must now govern a war-ravaged country that is heavily reliant on international aid.
Prince Charles’ ex-aide quits charity role amid honor claims
LONDON: A former close aide to Prince Charles stepped down temporarily from his role as chief executive of a royal charity amid reports that he helped secure an honor for a Saudi donor.
The Sunday Times and Mail on Sunday newspapers reported that Michael Fawcett coordinated support for an honor for Saudi businessman Mahfouz Marei Mubarak bin Mahfouz.
The Times said the businessman donated sums of more than 1.5 million pounds ($2.1 million) to The Prince’s Foundation to fund heritage restoration projects of interest to Charles, including residences Charles used.
The report said Charles gave Mahfouz an honorary CBE, or Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, at a private ceremony in 2016. The Saudi denies wrongdoing.
The Prince’s Foundation said in a statement that Fawcett offered to temporarily step down from active duties as the organization’s chief executive while an investigation takes place. It said Fawcett will assist the investigation.
Fawcett began his royal service in 1981 as a footman to Queen Elizabeth II and later became Charles’ assistant valet.
In 2003, he was accused of selling unwanted royal gifts but was cleared of financial misconduct allegations. He resigned from his position as valet but continued to work in other roles including as Charles’ events planner.
YSRCP and AP BJP at loggerheads over Vinayaka Chavithi festival!
Vinayaka Chavithi, one of the biggest Hindu festivals in the country, had increased the political heat in Andhra Pradesh and the ruling YSRCP and the AP wing of Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) are at loggerheads over the festival. Both parties have their respective arguments on their opinion on the festival.
In the wake of the possible third Covid wave, the Andhra Pradesh government had announced that no public celebrations on the festivals will be permitted and the devotees should perform pooja at their houses only. The government had issued a Government Order on the same.
Finding fault with the government’s decision, the Andhra Pradesh wing of BJP is attacking the government and demanding that permission for the Vinayaka Chavithi should be given. The BJP is saying that permission should be given for the celebrations and said that all the Covid protocols will be followed.
Citing the examples of other festivals Good Friday, Muharram. When the festivals of other religions were permitted, why can’t Hindu festivals be celebrated? We are saying that the protocols will be followed, AP BJP Chief Somu Veerraju said.
Adding further, the state chief said the schools were also started and the children were also being sent to the schools. The Vardhanti of YSR was also held in the state. When there is no Corona fear in these instances, when Corona fear is only implemented for Hindu festivals, he asked.
In a tweet, he said, What is your objection Chief MInister YS Jagan Garu when Hindus celebrate the festivals by following all the Corona protocols?. Along with the tweet, he shared a press note that questions why permission is not given for Hindu festivals.

The update will be out at 4 PM tomorrow and Vijay Deverakonda’s fans and followers can’t wait for the same. They have been eagerly awaiting a major update on the Vijay Deverakonda starrer and they are in for a treat tomorrow as the makers are set to announce the new release date. A related poster will also be announced to publicize the release date. This is the first considerable update on Liger for a long time now and the makers finally seem to have decided that it is time to serve Vija Deverakonda’s fans with what they wanted.
Close to 50% of Liger’s shoot has been wrapped up already and the remaining portion will be shot at a rapid pace once the shoot resumes. More promotional content pertaining to the film will be out in the days to come. Now the big question is, when will Liger hit the silver screens? Given the restrained conditions pertaining to the theatrical industry, we can expect Liger to lock 2022 summer release.
