Judiciary is facing lack of manpower and infrastructure: CJI
The Courts are taking active part in the cases that are pending against the lawmakers to see that these cases get concluded at the earliest. The Supreme Court is not an exemption to this.
A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) petition filed by senior lawyer Ashwini Upadhyay that sought the early conclusion of the cases that are pending against the lawmakers came up to the hearing on Wednesday.
The PIL also states that, there should be no delay in the trial and conclusion of these cases.
While saying that the pending cases against the lawmakers is a big issue to worry about, a division bench of the Supreme court said there is a lack of manpower and infrastructure in the judiciary.
Just like the other probe agencies, the judiciary is also facing the lack of manpower. This makes the agencies face the overburden of cases that have been pending since a long time, the bench said.
Even a trial court handles 1000 cases. How can the cases be finished with them facing an overburdening of cases. There is no required manpower and infrastructure, the bench maintained.
Charge sheets in a few cases that have been pending for 10 to 15 years were not filed. In a few cases, assets were attached in the cases while the charge sheet was not filed. Attaching the properties in the cases is of no use, the Chief Justice said.
Along with the High Courts, the cases that are still pending with the ED and CBI Courts pertaining to the lawmakers should be concluded as soon as possible.
The Chief Justice of India NV Ramana said that as a bid to conclude the cases pending against the lawmakers at the earliest, a new system would be brought and the system would consist of special courts.
THE amicus curiae in the matter, senior advocate Vijay Hansaria in the report submitted to the Apex Court said that as many as 121 cases are pending with the CBI Courts against the MPs and MLAs.
On the other hand, 51 MPs and 71 MLAs are facing money laundering cases under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002.
Finally: Date locked for MAA Elections
The suspense on the election date of the Movie Artists Association (MAA) has finally ended with the date being announced today. The elections will be held on October 10th, this year. The date has been locked after the MAA’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) was held a couple of days ago.
It is learned that the elders of TFI have decided to hold the elections on October 10 in the wake of increasing pressure from members on the disciplinary committee.
Megastar Chiranjeevi has taken the responsibility of resolving the issue in order to protect MAA reputation when one is accusing the other. He opined that delaying the issue may escalate the controversy.
In this context, Chiranjeevi asked UV Krishnam Raju to take appropriate steps to hold immediate elections. After Chiranjeevi’s letter, several members submitted letters to Krishnam Raju on the same subject.
Prakash Raj, Vishnu Manchu, Hema, Jeevitha Rajasekhar and current MAA President Naresh are contesting the polls. With the election date announced, it remains to be seen who will drop from the competition and will any members be joining the fight at the last moment.

Consider lifetime ban on Convicted leaders: Supreme Court
The Legislators ruling us facing criminal cases that are too serious charges are a great threat to democracy. In the recent past,several activists have battled for the demand to ban politicians with criminal backgrounds.
The Supreme Court had also made similar comments yet again while hearing a petition that seeks to see no delay in the case hearing of the leaders.
A petition that aims at seeking directives to have no delay in hearing the cases faced by the leaders was filed at the Supreme Court and came up for the hearing today.
During the arguments, the Supreme Court reportedly advised the Parliament to look into banning those who were convicted. Having said that, the Supreme court had also mentioned that it has made similar comments earlier too.
A few weeks back, the Supreme Court had asked all the political parties to submit the details of the cases faced by their respective leaders to the Election Commission.

Megastar Chiranjeevi saved my life: Bandla Ganesh
Actor-turned-producer Bandla Ganesh needs no introduction to Telugu people. He is known for his energetic pre-release speeches and controversial interviews on digital platforms. Speaking about MAA controversy, Bandla said, “We are all one family. Criticism arises when there are small problems. After some days, everything will be fine. Let’s all work together.” He also said why he is supporting Prakash Raj in the elections.

SC gives sigh of relief to Revanth Reddy in cash-for-vote case!
Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee(TPCC) Chief Revanth Reddy got a major sigh of relief in connection with the cash-for-vote case with the Supreme Court orders.
Hearing the petition filed by Revanth Reddy, the top court in the country, the Supreme Court had issued orders staying the Telangana High Court’s orders.
Going into details, a lower court had issued orders for the probe of the Anti-Corruption Bureau in this case. Following this, he had knocked on the doors of the Telangana High Court.
However, the High Court had refused to entertain his petition and the petition he filed was quashed by the Telangana High Court. In the petition he filed with the High Court, Revanth Reddy said, his case doesn’t fall under the preview of ACB.
With this, the TPCC President had moved the Supreme Court against the orders issued by the Telangana High Court. The Court heard the petition.
While issuing the stay orders on the High Court orders, the Supreme Court had adjourned the next hearing to the seventh of next month.
On the other hand, the division bench of the Supreme Court also stayed the High Court orders on former TDP leader and present TRS leader Sandra Venkata Veeraiah.
He had moved the Supreme Court to exclude his name from the list of accused in the cash-for-vote scandal.

YS Jagan Bail Cancellation: Final Verdict on September 15
The CBI court in Hyderabad today heard the petition filed by YSR Congress Rebel MP K Raghu Rama Krishna Raju seeking cancellation of bail granted to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in disproportionate assets case.
While everyone is waiting for the verdict of the case today, the court has deferred its judgement to September 15th. The Court in Nampally will also decide on Vijay Sai Reddy’s bail status on the same date. He is A2 in the disproportionate assets case.
In his petition, YSR Congress Rebel MP alleged that Jagan Reddy misused bail conditions by influencing witnesses, directly or indirectly, and also did not appear before the CBI trial court, defying the court’s authority.
In his counter to Raju’s petition, the AP CM said to the CBI court that he did not violate any bail conditions and he cooperated with the ongoing trial. Jagan alleged that the petition was politically motivated.
After hearing the arguments of both the parties, the court today posted its next hearing to September 15. If the court cancels Jagan’s bail, it will be a big blow for the ruling party. It remains to be seen what the court would decide on Jagan’s future.
Nagarjuna Akkineni kickstarts shooting of Bangarraju
Nagarjuna Akkineni’s much talked about film, Bangarraju, has finally commenced its shooting today. The makers began the shooting in a specially built set at Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad.
Bangarraju has been in the news for a long time now. The film got delayed due to several changes in the script and the unexpected Covid-19 pandemic.
As per reports, the makers have erected three massive sets of Heaven, Hell and a house in Annapurna Studios and most of Bangarraju’s shoot will be happened in these sets.
The film is being directed by Kalyan Krishna Kurasla and produced by Akkineni Nagarjuna himself under his home banner Annapurna Studios Private Limited. Bangarraju is the sequel to Nagarjuna-starrer ‘Soggade Chinni Nayana.
Naga Chaitanya, Ramya Krishna and Krithi Shetty are also part of this multi-starrer. Anup Rubens is on board as the music director. The film is aimed at Sankranti 2022 release.
