In a tragic incident in Hyderabad, a woman allegedly killed her two young children before taking her own life by jumping off a building. The incident occurred late Monday night in Padmanagar, under the jurisdiction of Balanagar Police Station in the Cyberabad Commissionerate.

The deceased woman, Sai Lakshmi, reportedly strangled her two-year-old twins—a boy and a girl—using a pillow and then jumped from the third floor of the apartment where they resided. Locals alerted the authorities, and police rushed to the scene. The bodies were shifted to Gandhi Hospital, Secunderabad, for further examination.

Sai Lakshmi, originally from Nuzvid, Eluru district, Andhra Pradesh, is believed to have been suffering from depression over her children’s health issues. The twins had been experiencing medical problems since birth. The boy required speech therapy due to difficulty in speaking, while the girl frequently fell ill.

Preliminary investigations suggest that frequent quarrels between Sai Lakshmi and her husband, Anil Kumar, regarding the children’s health may have contributed to the tragic incident. Police have taken Kumar for questioning and registered a case at Balanagar Police Station.

This is not an isolated incident in Hyderabad. In recent months, the city has witnessed similar tragedies. In August, a woman pushed her two young sons into a water sump before attempting suicide; both children drowned, but the woman survived. In April, another woman killed her two sons with an axe and then jumped to her death from an apartment building in Gajularamaram. Immigration New Zealand (INZ) has announced a temporary manual process to resolve a system limitation affecting Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV) holders following business sales or restructures.

The issue prevents the system from automatically creating or updating job tokens — the mechanism that formally links AEWV employees to their accredited employers. To maintain accurate employment data, INZ has introduced a short-term manual solution until a permanent upgrade is implemented.

“To make sure AEWV workers are properly linked to their new employer, a new job check application needs to be submitted,” INZ said in a statement. “This creates a job token and completes the formal connection in our system.”

INZ confirmed that affected employers will be contacted directly with step-by-step instructions. The agency has also waived job check fees for these specific cases.

The job token linkage is a crucial compliance requirement, particularly for AEWV holders nearing their maximum continuous stay limit. INZ said work is already underway on a permanent digital upgrade to automate these updates by next year, reducing the need for manual intervention.

Google to Build Massive AI Data Center in Visakhapatnam

In a landmark move for Andhra Pradesh, Google has officially partnered with the state government to establish a large-scale AI data center in Visakhapatnam. The agreement was finalized during a high-level meeting attended by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Union Ministers Nirmala Sitharaman and Ashwini Vaishnaw, Minister Lokesh, and senior Google executives, including Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian.

The project involves an investment of over ₹87,520 crore and aims to build a one-gigawatt capacity AI data center, marking one of Google’s largest investments outside the United States. The facility will act as a global connectivity hub, linking Visakhapatnam to countries like Singapore, Malaysia, and Australia through an advanced undersea cable network.

The data center is expected to transform sectors such as healthcare, education, agriculture, and industry by providing cutting-edge AI-driven services and infrastructure. Thomas Kurian highlighted that the Visakhapatnam hub would connect India with 12 countries, becoming a crucial node in Google’s international network.

This initiative also presents a significant opportunity for India to nurture world-class AI talent, offering avenues for innovation, research, and training in emerging technologies such as Gemini AI and other Google platforms. Over the next five years, Google’s total investment in the region could reach approximately $15 billion, further strengthening India’s position in the global digital ecosystem.

For Andhra Pradesh, this partnership is more than an investment—it is a step toward establishing Visakhapatnam as a major technology gateway, connecting India to the world.

War 2 OTT Premiere Becomes India’s Most-Watched Film

One of the most anticipated films of the year, War 2, starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, may have disappointed at the box office, but it is now making waves on OTT. Despite failing to meet audience expectations in theatres, the film has emerged as the most-watched release in India since its digital premiere.

War 2 premiered on Netflix on October 9, and according to Ormax, it recorded the highest number of OTT views in India between October 6 and October 12. The film reportedly amassed over 3.5 million views within days of its release. Meanwhile, Superstar Rajinikanth’s Coolie (Hindi version) also debuted on OTT last week but couldn’t match the viewership numbers of War 2. Notably, both films had a simultaneous theatrical release on August 14.

Directed by Ayan Mukerji, War 2 features Kiara Advani as the female lead, with Anil Kapoor, Ashutosh Rana, and Varun Badola in supporting roles. Fans are now relieved to see the film receiving a positive reception online, a contrast to its theatrical performance.
