War 2 OTT Premiere Becomes India’s Biggest Hit

Share

One of the most anticipated films of the year, War 2, starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, may have disappointed at the box office, but it is now making waves on OTT. Despite failing to meet audience expectations in theatres, the film has emerged as the most-watched release in India since its digital premiere.

War 2 premiered on Netflix on October 9, and according to Ormax, it recorded the highest number of OTT views in India between October 6 and October 12. The film reportedly amassed over 3.5 million views within days of its release. Meanwhile, Superstar Rajinikanth’s Coolie (Hindi version) also debuted on OTT last week but couldn’t match the viewership numbers of War 2. Notably, both films had a simultaneous theatrical release on August 14.

Directed by Ayan Mukerji, War 2 features Kiara Advani as the female lead, with Anil Kapoor, Ashutosh Rana, and Varun Badola in supporting roles. Fans are now relieved to see the film receiving a positive reception online, a contrast to its theatrical performance.

Raja Saab Delayed to Sankranti Due to VFX Issues

Share

Prabhas’ highly anticipated film Raja Saab, originally slated for release on April 10, 2025, has faced multiple delays, leaving fans eagerly waiting for updates. The film is now scheduled to release during the Sankranti festival on January 9, 2026. While many speculated that production delays or Prabhas’ busy schedule were responsible, the actual reason lies in the VFX department.

Producer Vishwa Prasad revealed that the delay was not due to shooting issues but major setbacks in visual effects work. A senior VFX supervisor assigned to the project reportedly failed to deliver a single shot for months, despite being on the payroll. The technician was also juggling other high-profile projects, including Pushpa 2, which further hampered progress.

Vishwa Prasad added that the VFX supervisor became difficult to manage and even threatened to quit under pressure. To prevent further delays, the production team decided to part ways with him. Interestingly, filmmaker Rajamouli is also reported to have recently parted ways with the same technician, highlighting recurring professional differences.

Following this, Vishwa Prasad established a dedicated in-house VFX team for his company, which worked on both Mirai and Raja Saab. The stunning visual effects in Mirai have raised expectations, boosting confidence that Raja Saab will deliver a grand, visually spectacular experience when it hits screens.

Fans remain optimistic that the wait will be worth it, and Raja Saab is poised to add another blockbuster chapter to Prabhas’ career.

Premalu beauty Mamitha Baiju is all set to surprise audiences with an atypical role in the upcoming film Dude, directed by Keerthiswaran and produced by Mythri Movie Makers, with Pradeep Ranganathan also starring in the film.

Mamitha revealed that she was immediately drawn to the project because of its fresh and innovative story. “The way Keerthiswaran narrated the concept felt exciting and completely new. My character, Kural, is central to the plot and unlike anything I’ve played before,” she said.

The actress admitted that the role came with its share of challenges. “Some emotional scenes were particularly tough. I practiced the dialogues all night to get them right. Bunny Vas Urges Healthy Competition Ahead of Diwali Releases

Share

This Diwali is set to witness a four-way clash at the Telugu box office with Mithra Mandali, Telusu Kada, K Ramp, and Dude (Dubbed) hitting theatres. All teams are in full swing with promotions, creating a lively festive buzz among moviegoers. Among them, Mithra Mandali, featuring Priyadarshi and Niharika NM, is gearing up for release on October 16, with paid premieres scheduled for October 15.

At the film’s pre-release event held on Monday, producer Bunny Vas made headlines with his powerful statement condemning the negative online campaigns aimed at Mithra Mandali. Stressing the importance of healthy competition, he urged everyone in the industry to support one another rather than resort to trolling or hate-driven tactics.

“Four films are releasing this Diwali, and I sincerely hope all of them do well. The success of one film shouldn’t come at the expense of another. Some believe trolling others will help them succeed, but that’s not true. If a film is good, the audience will embrace it — if not, they’ll reject it. The audience, not us, decides what works,” said Bunny Vas.

He further added,

“Competition is good when it’s fair and righteous. Even if my film doesn’t perform well, I’ll still wish success for others — maybe that’s why I’ve been consistently blessed. To those who troll online, I’d just say — if you’re doing it, at least charge more! Don’t exchange your positive energy for negativity. There’s space for everyone when the content is good.”

Though he didn’t name anyone directly, Bunny Vas’s comments clearly pointed towards the heated rivalry among the Diwali releases, subtly calling for unity and positivity within the Telugu film industry.

Mithra Mandali stars Priyadarshi, Niharika NM, Rag Mayur, Vishnu Oi, and Prasad Behara in key roles. The film is presented by Bunny Vas under BV Works and produced by Kalyan Manthina, Bhanu Pratapa, and Dr. Vijender Reddy Teegala, with music composed by RR Dhruvan.

With a strong message of camaraderie and optimism, Mithra Mandali aims to bring a refreshing mix of humour, heart, and human connection this festive season.

Siddhu Jonnalagadda Promises a Darker Avatar in Badass

Share

Star Boy Siddhu Jonnalagadda, who began his journey as a character artist, has evolved into one of the most distinctive and exciting actors in Telugu cinema. After delivering a massive blockbuster with DJ Tillu, Siddhu became a youth sensation with his quirky attitude, sharp wit, and unconventional screen presence. Though his recent outing Jack failed to make a mark at the box office, the actor is now ready to bounce back with his upcoming romantic drama Telusu Kada, releasing this week.

At the trailer launch event of Telusu Kada, Siddhu candidly spoke about his creative choices and the kind of roles that excite him at this stage of his career. He also opened up about his next ambitious project, Badass, promising that it will showcase him in an entirely different and daring light.

When asked if he would consider playing soft, emotional roles again, Siddhu’s response was strikingly honest — he said he’s “tired of being a soft man,” as the world isn’t kind to such people anymore. He further added that he isn’t worried about being typecast because he will eventually return to Tillu-like characters when the time is right.

Talking about Badass, Siddhu described it as a radical and boundary-pushing film — possibly the darkest movie ever made in Tollywood. He explained that the film’s intensity stems not just from aggression or style but from genuine life experiences that shape one’s personality. “Cinema is an art form that allows us to express what we live through,” he said, emphasizing his emotional connection to the role.

Directed by Ravikanth Perepu, who earlier collaborated with Siddhu on Krishna and His Leela, Badass is an action-packed drama with a bold and rebellious tone. The first look poster, featuring Siddhu in a rugged and fearless avatar, grabbed attention with the tagline — “If middle finger was a man”. This perfectly sets the tone for what seems to be Siddhu’s most audacious and powerful performance yet.

With Telusu Kada arriving this week and Badass in the pipeline, Siddhu Jonnalagadda is clearly on a mission to redefine his image and push the creative boundaries of Telugu cinema.

Dhruv Vikram Roars Back with Mari Selvaraj’s Bison

Share

Versatile actor Vikram’s son, Dhruv Vikram, is gearing up to make a strong comeback with his upcoming film Bison, directed by the acclaimed filmmaker Mari Selvaraj. Though Dhruv has showcased his potential as a performer, a solid box-office success has so far eluded him — but this project might just change that.

The trailer of Bison, which was released yesterday, has already generated solid buzz. True to Mari Selvaraj’s signature style, the film revolves around a protagonist from a marginalized community, reflecting the director’s deep-rooted storytelling about identity, struggle, and self-respect.

Dhruv plays a lower-caste youngster with an undying passion for Kabaddi, determined to rise above societal barriers. The trailer showcases his emotional journey — a tale of perseverance, pain, and pride — as he fights for his place and the dreams of his people.

The visuals are raw and realistic, filled with emotional intensity and authenticity — trademarks of Mari Selvaraj’s cinema. The earthy tone, powerful dialogues, and soul-stirring music together promise an immersive experience.

Anupama Parameswaran and Rajisha Vijayan appear in strong supporting roles, perfectly complementing Dhruv’s fiery presence and adding a touch of warmth and realism to the rural setting.

With its Diwali release on October 17th, Bison looks set to deliver a heartfelt, socially charged drama that could mark a new chapter in Dhruv Vikram’s career.

Allu Arjun’s Atlee Film: Mega Expectations

Share

Allu Arjun, one of Indian cinema’s biggest commercial superstars, cemented his legacy with the massive success of Pushpa. Riding high on this momentum, he is now gearing up for his next film under the direction of Atlee.

The new project is being touted as a landmark production in South Indian cinema, with expectations soaring even before the film hits theaters. Industry insiders and fans alike are discussing the market impact Allu Arjun commands, particularly in the context of his upcoming venture.

Pushpa 2 made history as the highest-grossing Indian film of all time, reportedly earning over ₹1800 crore. The big question now is whether Allu Arjun can replicate or surpass that success with his next collaboration with Atlee. This film, already being promoted as one of the costliest productions in Indian cinema, carries immense expectations.

Allu Arjun’s legacy from Pushpa sets a high benchmark. While some debate that the massive revenue was primarily due to the Pushpa brand rather than the actor alone, the reality remains that Allu Arjun is currently the highest-paid Telugu, and possibly Indian, hero. To justify this remuneration and cement his stature further, he must deliver another mega-blockbuster capable of crossing the ₹1000 crore mark at the box office. The industry and fans are watching closely to see if Allu Arjun can achieve this feat with Atlee’s film.
