Chandrababu get attacked during by-election campaign..?
The campaigning for the upcoming by-elections in Tirupati is underway, with every political party of Andhra Pradesh rigorously campaigning for the by-elections. Telugu Desam Party Chief and opposition leader Chandrababu Naidu was campaigning today in Tirupati and was attacked by a group of unidentified people, who threw stones at him.
A member of the TDP got severely hurt in the process, following which Chandrababu got off the campaigning vehicle and started to lash out at the perpetrators. Naidu said that it is a shame that they are getting attacked for campaigning, and even said that they were attacked in the first place because the Police department failed to provide proper security for them.
Naidu said that the perpetrators of the attack pre-planned the entire thing as it is quite uncommon for anyone to attack him in his own district. Naidu also condemned the way the Jagan government is failing to provide security for the opposition, as it is the government’s duty. He also said that it is a shame to see attacks of this sort in a democratic government.
On the other hand, YSRCP members are saying that all of this is a publicity stunt and that the YSRCP has nothing to do with it. They said that Chandrababu is only doing all of this, to get sympathy from the people. To this, the TDP members are asking if the alleged murder attempts on Jagan Mohan Reddy in the past are all publicity stunts as well.
On the whole, though, pelting stones at a former Chief Minister is not a good thing to do, and may as well be considered as a murder attempt too. It is now to be seen what situations this will lead up to

William, Harry remember Prince Philip’s wit, service to UK
LONDON: Princes William and Harry issued separate statements Monday paying tribute to their grandfather, Prince Philip, who died last week at 99.
William, who is second in line to the throne, pledged “to get on with the job’’ of serving Queen Elizabeth II as he and his brother became the latest members of the Royal Family to honor Philip’s service to the nation and the monarch.
“My grandfather was an extraordinary man and part of an extraordinary generation,’’ William said in a statement posted on Twitter. “Catherine and I will continue to do what he would have wanted and will support The Queen in the years ahead. I will miss my Grandpa, but I know he would want us to get on with the job.″
William and his wife released a picture of Philip with his great-grandson, Prince George, their oldest child.
Prince Harry’s office also issued a statement, describing Philip as a man who was “authentically himself.”
“He will be remembered as the longest reigning consort to the Monarch, a decorated serviceman, a Prince and a Duke,” Harry said. “But to me, like many of you who have lost a loved one or grandparent over the pain of this past year, he was my grandpa: master of the barbecue, legend of banter, and cheeky right ’til the end.”
The comments came as Britain’s House of Commons, which was recalled early from its Easter recess, began offering tributes to Prince Philip, also known as the Duke of Edinburgh.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson said Philip was “shaped and protected the monarchy through all the vicissitudes” of the past last seven decades.
“He gives us all a model of selflessness and of putting others before ourselves,” Johnson said. “He made this country a better place.”
China asks officials to halt mandatory COVID vaccination
BEIJING: China’s central health officials have asked their provincial counterparts to halt mandatory vaccination orders as some cities were reportedly found to adopt compulsory measures to meet the country’s goal of vaccinating 560 million people by June.
China is taking an approach of “getting the people who need it vaccinated and pushing forward vaccination in stages,” and as of Saturday, the country had administered 164.
47 million jabs, making it the second-fastest country in the world in terms of mass vaccination, Wu Liangyou, deputy head of the National Health Commission’s (NHC) disease control bureau told media on Sunday, the state-run Global Times reported.
NHC spokesperson Mi Feng said, “Some places adopted inappropriate measures, including a ‘one-size-fits-all’ or ‘compulsory for all’ approach, which needs to be corrected.”
Wu said in order to push forward the mass vaccination campaign, some places have not taken appropriate measures, though the situation is not widespread, and this reflects a lack of organisation and management.
In the latest case, officials from the township of Wancheng in South China’s Hainan Province revoked a controversial COVID-19 vaccine inoculation notice which claimed that people who are not vaccinated would be banned from public transport and entering public venues such as restaurants and supermarkets.
“We sincerely apologise for the improper way that we mobilised vaccination,” the local government said in a statement.
China has so far granted emergency nod for five vaccines but none of them have been approved by the World Health Organisation (WHO).
On Sunday, Chinese Centre for Disease Control and Prevention director Gao Fu stirred a controversy after he calling for mixing of the vaccines to improve their efficacy.
“The protection rates of all vaccines in the world are sometimes high, and sometimes low. How to improve their efficacy is a question that needs to be considered by scientists around the world,” Gao said.
“In this regard, adjusting the vaccination process in terms of the number of doses and intervals and considering sequential inoculation of different types of vaccines might be possible options,” he said.
BJP’s GHMC corporators in touch with TRS?
Are some BJP corporators in the GHMC in touch with the ruling TRS? Are they planning to ditch the BJP and join the TRS? Is the ruling TRS unveiling its Operation Akarsh on the BJP corporators?
Well, if you believe GHMC mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi, the answer is yes. Gadwal Vijayalakshmi dropped a bombshell the other day when she said that several BJP corporators in the GHMC were in touch with her and that they were waiting for the right opportunity to join the TRS. Though Gadwal Vijayalakshmi did not elaborate on the issue, it is clear that at least some BJP corporators are already in touch with the TRS leadership.
In fact, there was a talk of luring BJP corporators ahead of the election of the GHMC mayor. However, open support by the MIM has helped the TRS get Gadwal Vijayalakshmi as the mayor. So, there was no need for luring the BJP corporators. But, at least some of the winning corporators of the BJP are from the TRS and have deep links with the party’s top brass. There are reports that they are being contacted by the TRS leadership. The BJP is watching TRS moves with alarm and is trying to keep its flock together.

The latest addition to this list is reportedly Mass Maharaj Ravi Teja. The star hero who is known for his energy usually makes 2-3 films every year. He gets a hefty paycheque for his films and does films quite quickly irrespective of their result. He recently scored a super hit with ‘Krack’ and is coming up ‘Khiladi’ this summer. News is that he is all set to produce a film with a Malayali hero as the lead. Whether it will be a Telugu film or a bilingual are yet to be revealed. Now, exhibitors in the state are furious with the state government’s decision and they are planning to shut operations till the G.O is cancelled. They feel it is not feasible to exhibit movies with such ticket prices.
Exhibitors are asking distributors and Tollywood bigwigs to come out an support them before they take more beating financially. They are demanding Tollywood fraternity to exert pressure on the state government.
Quite a few theaters which are screening Pawan Kalyan’s Vakeel Saab have opted not to run any shows. Managements have come to a conclusion that recovering their expenses with low ticket prices is not possible. So, they are calling off the shows.
Will Tollywood come out in support of exhibitors before things take an ugly turn? Only time will tell.

If Modi, Shah open their third eye, KCR will go to jail: BJP MP Soyam
ADILABAD: BJP MP Soyam Bapu Rao on Sunday claimed that if Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah opened their third eye, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao would go to jail.
The MP said that Adilabad MLA Jogu Ramanna, during his stint as Environment and Forest Minister, looted public money, because of which the CM has been keeping him on the back-burner. He called on the TRS to expel leaders who committed irregularities during the byelections.
The MP said that he was not afraid of Maoists and that the TRS and Ramanna had no intention of developing tribal areas.
Deepika Padukone resigns as MAMI chairperson
Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone, who has been busy with big projects, has resigned as the chairperson of MAMI (Mumbai Academy of Moving Image). She took to her social media accounts to announce the same.
The Chennai Express actress said that she has resigned from MAMI because she can’t give her full attention to the trust due to her work commitments.
“I have come to realise, however, that with my current slate of work, I will be unable to give MAMI the undivided focus and attention it requires. I depart knowing that MAMI is in the best hands possible and that my bond and connection with the academy will last a lifetime,” she wrote.
On the work front, Deepika has lined up a pile of projects. She will next be seen in 83, opposite husband Ranveer Singh. She will also be seen in Fighter. She is currently working on Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathan, which also stars John Abraham in a lead role.

PK: We should never underestimate Modi, he is a leader of the people
Prashant Kishore, the political strategist who was key to YSRCP coming to power in Andhra Pradesh in 2019, and who is now behind Trinamool Congress in West Bengal, recently spoke to the media and revealed several interesting pieces of information.
PK said that he always overestimates his opponents and strategies because no one is to be underestimated. He said that there’s no way that Modi can be underestimated as he is the leader of the people, but expressed confidence that Trinamool Congress would win the general elections in West Bengal this time. PK also addressed the audiotapes that were leaked online and said that it was no accident that those tapes were leaked, and all of it was preplanned. He explained that he never said anything like what was heard on the tapes. PK also said that the BJP would not be able to win more than 100 seats in the state.
Talking about the complaint he made to the governor, PK said that he complained to the governor only because mistakes were happening. He clarified that Chief Minister Mamta said nothing to provoke the forces from the Centre, but that the Central forces had started shooting on their own. He said that 5 people died in this shooting, and condemned the way Mamta was not allowed to visit the place.
PK took the example of PM Modi visiting Patna when shootouts took place and said that the Election Commission did nothing to stop him then, and criticized the way the Election commission was stopping Mamta now. PK said that Mamta would continue to be close to the people of her state. On the other hand, PK acknowledged that Abhishek Banerjee is a good leader, but confidently said that Mamta would be the Chief Minister once again.
Dil Raju contracts COVID-19
Star producer Dil Raju has tested positive for Covid, say latest reports. He immediately moved to self isolation and is taking necessary medication to recover from the virus.
Dil Raju kept himself busy with Vakeel Saab promotions and has been actively taking part in promotional events for the past couple of weeks.
The noted producer asked those who were in close contact with him for the past two to theee days to get themselves tested for Covid.
Dil Raju finally fulfilled his wish to work with Pawan Kalyan as he produced the latter’s latest outing Vakeel Saab which hit the theatres on 9th of this month.
The senior producer is now awaiting the release of Paagal which is slated for theatrical release on 1st May. The film stars Vishwak Sen and Nivetha Pethuraj in the lead roles. Debutante Natesh Kuppili is directing the film.
