How can Lokesh bring down Petrol prices?

Share

It is very common for politicians to make several promises, no matter how impossible they sound, for votes. However, the reality of these promises being fulfilled is a completely different story, as some of the promises are highly impossible to fulfil, and some don’t even make sense.

In a very similar tone, recently, Telugu Desam Party National General Secretary, and ex-Minister Nara Lokesh said that the TDP would bring down the cost of petrol in Tirupati if Panabaka Lakshmi wins in the upcoming by-elections. Lokesh said this while campaign for the upcoming Tirupati by-elections in the Satyavedu Assembly constituency of Tirupati Lok Sabha.

This is not the first time that Lokesh has made an interesting comment like this. Previously too, the politician made several statements that had no solid proof or backing. This resulted in him getting badly trolled by the people, and with everyone calling him politically illiterate.

The cost of petrol is something that is decided by the Central government, and not by any MP. There is no way that the TDP would be able to achieve lower prices of petrol by winning in the Tirupati by-elections.

If the people vote for TDP, thinking that something like this is possible, then it’s their innocence, otherwise, Lokesh should perhaps think for a moment before making a statement like that again. Political circles are once again trolling Lokesh and how he always manages to say the wrong thing.

Prayanikudu First Look: Intense and Grim

Share

The first look poster of Prayanikudu, a social drama starring newcomers Krishna Chaitanya, and Pavani in the lead roles was unveiled a short while ago.

The poster is intense and grim. It features a host of debut actors and they carry a serious look on their faces.

“Revenge is dangerous than enemy” reads the poster and that should be some sort of indication about the film’s plot.

The trailer of the film will be unveiled on 5th April at 5:04 PM.

Jonathan Edwards is directing the film and M Krishna is producing it under Infinite Creative Works banner.

UK PM Boris Johnson expected to unveil COVID passports, travel traffic lights

Share

LONDON: UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson is set to unveil a series of measures later on Monday as part of plans to start unlocking the UK from its coronavirus lockdown, including so-called COVID passports for mass events and a traffic lights system for foreign travel.

After a Cabinet meeting to finalise the latest set of plans, Johnson will host a Downing Street press conference in the evening to set out details of the next stage in his roadmap – which will see non-essential shops reopen and pubs and restaurants start serving outdoors from April 12.

It comes as the government announced plans for twice weekly free coronavirus tests for everyone in England to be rolled out from the end of this week.

“One of the things we don’t want to see – and just as the vaccination programme is working so well – is getting new variants or risking new variants getting imported into this country,” UK health minister Edward Argar told the BBC, in reference to the “very cautious” next phase of lifting lockdown restrictions.

As part of the announcements, Johnson is expected to lay out details of trial events in the coming months that will explore how ventilation and testing before and after events could help audiences back into arenas and auditoriums – over a year after being shut down to control the spread of the deadly virus.

The pilot schemes involving what is being dubbed as “Covid-status certification” will include the football FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium in London and are expected to involve a smartphone app or a paper certificate.

The trials will last until mid-May, when the next phase of lockdown easing is scheduled before a complete easing of restrictions by June 21 under Johnson’s roadmap. According to the BBC, the first pilot event will be a comedy night in Liverpool on April 16, where audience members will be tested for COVID before and after the show.

However, critics of these plans, including more than 40 parliamentarians from Johnson’s Conservative Party and privacy campaigners, have suggested that such COVID passports could prove counter-productive.

Downing Street has also indicated that ministers are finalising plans to allow overseas travel through a traffic light system approach, with countries designated as red, amber and green based on their COVID risk levels.

Non-essential international travel remains banned under current lockdown rules and the government advice continues to go against booking any overseas trips for summer holidays at this stage.

India critical part of climate solution: US on Special Presidential Envoy John Kerry’s visit

Share

NEW DELHI: US Special Presidential Envoy for Climate, John Kerry will visit New Delhi on Monday. He will meet with representatives of the Indian government, private sector and non-governmental organisations.

As per a spokesperson at the US Embassy in New Delhi, Kerry is travelling to Abu Dhabi, New Delhi, and Dhaka from April 1-9 for consultations on increasing climate ambition ahead of President Joe Biden’s Leaders Summit on Climate on April 22-23 and the 26th Conference of the Parties (COP26) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) later this year.

“As one of the world’s largest economies and a global leader in science and innovation, India is a critical part of the solution to the climate crisis. We see India as an important partner on future clean energy research, development, and deployment, not least because of their successful domestic agenda in this area. A key focus for our Administration is supporting and encouraging India’s decarbonization efforts through clean, zero, and low-carbon investment, and supporting India in mitigating its fossil energy use,” said the spokesperson.

This is Kerry’s first visit to India as the US’ Special Envoy for Climate Change. Earlier, in January, the Biden administration had re-joined the Paris Agreement and was lauded worldwide. India has set the goals for 2030 for increasing renewable energy generation to 450GW and has revised its nationally determined contribution under the Paris Agreement.

Under the 2015 Paris climate accord, countries committed to reduce their carbon output and halt global warming below 2 degrees Celsius — and if possible, below 1.5 degrees Celsius — by the end of the century to avoid the worst impacts of climate change.

According to the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, the population must reduce its 2030 CO2 emissions by about 45 per cent from 2010 levels and reach net zero by 2050 to ensure this temperature limit goal is reached.

YS Vijayalakshmi’s open letter on YS Viveka’s murder case

Share

There has been a lot of finger-pointing and backlash at YS Jagan, for not being able to bring justice to the murder of his uncle, YS Vivekananda Reddy. Viveka’s daughter, Sunitha Reddy, recently visited Delhi’s CBI office and said that she suspects that someone from the YS family is involved in Viveka’s murder.

A letter has now been released in the name of YS Vijayalakshmi, which is 5 pages long. In this letter, Vijayalakshmi stated that she suspects that ex-minister Adinarayana Reddy is behind the murder of Vivekananda. This is in complete contrast to the views of Sunitha Reddy’s.

Furthermore, Vijayalakshmi also stated that the entire YS family is in support of Sunitha Reddy, and said that blaming Jagan for not being able to bring justice to Viveka’s case is not right, as the case is being investigated by the CBI, and that there’s nothing that the CM could do about it. She dedicated 4 pages to clear Jagan’s name in the matter.

Vijayalakshmi also cleared the air surrounding the speculated differences between Sharmila and Jagan. She said that Sharmila and Jagan do not share a difference of opinions, and said that their opinions are entirely different. She said that people are unnecessarily trying to cause a rift in the family, but that it wouldn’t happen. This is nothing new for the public, as the YSRCP members have also been saying the same thing. This letter is now expected to put an end to all rumours about the rift between Jagan and Sharmila, and Vijayalakshmi’s emotional conflict.

TTD paid Rs.14 crore for the FAKE Udveg company ??

Share

A few days ago, the owner of the firm ‘Udveg Infra’ came to Thirumala and announced that he would build a children’s hospital with three hundred crores.

It was announced as a donation by the firm owner to TTD. TTD has made an MOU with the firm owner. TTD also decided to allot 10 acres of land worth Rs.400 crores for the hospital.

At that time, many wondered why the TTD is accepting this in the form of MoU other than cheques or online transactions.

It was later revealed that the Udvag was a suitcase company and it was also revealed that there were not even three hundred crores in their account. TTD officials kept the MOU confidential.

But, TDP released the MoU documents to the media. In that, they found that Rs. 14 crores are to be paid in advance. It remains to be known whether those fourteen crores were paid by TTD as advance or not.

It looks suspicious that the TTD, which has decided to accept the donation, has agreed to pay Rs.14 crores in return. More details on this are awaited.
