Union Budget: TDP blames CM Jagan for raw deal to Andhra Pradesh
VIJAYAWADA: Expressing disappointment over the Union Budget 2021-22, opposition TDP blamed the State government and Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for the raw deal meted out to the State. They accused the Chief Minister of mortgaging the interests of the State to the Centre for his personal benefits.
Speaking to mediapersons in New Delhi, TDP MP Galla Jayadev said the Union Budget, for the seventh consecutive year, had disappointed the people of the State.
“The TDP, despite in alliance with the BJP raised its voice on the rights of the State from 2014 to 2019 and even came out of the NDA, in the interests of the State. On the other hand, the YSRC, after making tall claims to achieve the Special Category Status (SCS) if they were given more number of MPs, had miserably failed in mounting pressure on the Centre despite having 22 MPs in the Lok Sabha,’’ he said.
Party’s Rajya Sabha member Kanakamedala Ravindra Kumar too criticised the Chief Minister for failing to get funds and projects to the State.
TDP senior leader Yanamala Ramakrishnudu also slammed the budget for ‘not providing any funds or projects’ to fulfil the promises made in the Reorganisation Act. “It became obvious that Jagan’s visits to Delhi were solely aimed at his own personal benefit. The CM was preoccupied with getting relief from his illegal assets cases rather than getting a fair deal for the people,” he added.
Vakeel Saab: Dil Raju strikes a deal with Zee TV
Dil Raju has reportedly stuck a profitable deal with Zee TV as they have bagged the satellite rights of Vakeel Saab. The exact amount of money shelled out by Zee TV is yet to be revealed though.
Vakeel Saab is riding high on buzz and expectations so we can expect Dil Raju to make big bucks by selling the non-theatrical rights of the Pawan Kalyan starrer.
The digital rights of the film are yet to be sold and a couple of digital streaming giants are said to be very much interested in acquiring the rights.
Vakeel Saab is set to hit the big screens across the globe on 9th of April.

A Budget for the middle-class: Bandi
HYDERABAD: BJP State president Bandi Sanjay Kumar said that the Union Budget, 2021, introduced by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, reflected the people’s aspirations and would improve the living standards of the middle-class. “This historic Budget embodies Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Sab ka saath, sab ka vikaas” slogan he said. Sanjay even said that the budgetary allocations for Telangana were more than expected.
In a statement, the BJP leader said that the Centre would bestow gas cylinders to an additional one crore population under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana.The Union Budget would rejuvenate the economy which had been hit by the Covid crisis, Sanjay claimed.
“It is great that India is moving forward at a time when the world economy is still reeling under the Covid crisis. The government could bring the country’s economy back on track when even developed countries were struggling,” he said.
He further lauded Sitharaman for balancing development and welfare. Her Budget, which promoted investment in infrastructure, would ensure long-term development in all sectors, he said.“Controlling the fiscal deficit to 6.5% of GDP will surely improve the economy.
The six pillars of the Budget will accelerate the Indian economy. An allocation of `27.17 lakh crore for the Atma Nirbhar Bharat will spur growth in the medical, education and employment sectors,” Sanjay enthused. The fact that stock markets registered massive profits was a testament to a great Budget, the Karimnagar MP said.
Pawan Kalyan-Krish Movie Titled ‘Hara Hara Mahadev’.?
Pawan Kalyan and director Krish’s much-awaited period drama is back on its wheels after the delay due to the pandemic last year. The Powerstar has resumed the shoot in Hyderabad recently and a few pictures from the sets also went viral on the internet.
The latest update is that the makers have locked a powerful title for the film. As per sources, the title is registered as ‘Hara Hara Mahadev‘. Earlier similar titles like Virupaksha and Shivam had also widely circulated on the internet. However, the makers have said to be finalising ‘Hara Hara Mahadev’ as it perfectly opts for Krish’s story.
Interestingly, in 2011, it was announced that director B Gopal locked this title for Balakrishna’s project. But the project got stalled after the launch. An official regarding the same is awaited.
The first-look poster of this film was unveiled on Pawan Kalyan’s 49th birthday and it became a big hit on the internet. Nidhhi Agerwal has been roped in to play the female lead role.
Scotland Yard celebrates first-ever Sikh female police officer
LONDON: Scotland Yard on Monday celebrated the 50th anniversary of Karpal Kaur Sandhu joining its ranks as the first South Asian and Sikh female police officer, paving the way for others to follow in her footsteps.
Police Constable (PC) Sandhu served the Metropolitan Police in London between 1971 and 1973 and has been dubbed as a “true pioneer” for police forces across the UK.
“PC Karpal Kaur Sandhu was a true pioneer and ahead of her time. I have no doubt that her decision to join the Met Police in 1971 was a brave one and she would have faced considerable challenges along the way,” said Assistant Commissioner Helen Ball.
“As Britain”s and the Met’s first Asian female officer, Karpal paved the way for so many others who have gone into policing since 1971. Fifty years to the day after PC Sandhu joined the Met, I am pleased that we are able to remember her life, her career and the legacy she has left policing,” she said.
The National Sikh Police Association UK joined forces with the Met Police Sikh Association for a special virtual event in memory of PC Sandhu on Monday.
“Today, together with representatives from the Met’s Sikh Association, Met police officers and staff and the wider Sikh community, we remember Karpal’s special contribution to policing, as the UK’s first female Asian and Sikh police officer,” said Ravjeet Gupta, Chair of the Metropolitan Police Sikh Association.
“Karpal was an invaluable ambassador for the Met who helped break down barriers with London”s communities and will always be remembered for being a trailblazer of her time,” said Gupta.
PC Sandhu was born to a Sikh family in Zanzibar, East Africa, in 1943 and came to the UK in 1962, where she got a job as a nurse at Chase Farm Hospital.
She joined the Met in 1971 at the age of 27, where she served at Hornsey police station before moving to Leyton in east London.
“I’m so proud of my mother, and her legacy as the UK’s first female police officer from an Asian and Sikh background. It’s wonderful that 50 years on she is remembered, and is an inspiration to generations of new female police officers joining the Met,” said Romy Sandhu, Karpal Kaur Sandhu’s daughter.
At a time when there would have only been about 700 female officers in the Met, she was both the first female Sikh and female South Asian police officer in the UK.
Writing in a report at the time, her Chief Superintendent said that she was “proving invaluable with our dealings with the immigrant population and she is also assisting other divisions in this work and also in teaching police officers Asian dialects”.
He added that she was “energetic, intelligent and conscientious” and enjoyed playing hockey and driving.
The Met Police said that PC Sandhu passed away in “tragic circumstances” in November 1973 and sadly, the force lost a promising officer who had a bright future.
Sandhu, aged 30, was killed in an altercation with her husband, who was reportedly opposed to her career choice and was later sentenced to life imprisonment for her murder in 1974.
Over 2 million COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in Italy
ROME: Health professionals in Italy have now administered more than two million doses of vaccines against the coronavirus disease, Domenico Arcuri, the government’s COVID-19 special commissioner, said on Tuesday, as reported by domestic media outlets.
Arcuri said that more than 659,000 people have now received both shots, the ANSA agency said.
The pace of Italy’s mass immunization program slowed in late January due to a reduction in the number of doses sent by Pfizer. The Italian government sent a letter to the US pharmaceutical giant demanding compliance with contractual obligations to supply the required number of doses.
Pfizer, AstraZeneca, and Moderna have warned that they may be unable to meet supply targets to the European Union in the first quarter of 2021 due to production issues. Arcuri on Friday said that Italy has received at least 300,000 fewer vaccine doses than expected.
In response, the European Union this past Friday launched a COVID-19 vaccine transparency mechanism, which will require manufacturers to apply for authorization to export vaccine doses out the bloc.

HYDERABAD: TPCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy on Monday denounced the Union Budget for 2021-22, stating that it did not allocate even a single rupee for Telangana. He then asked Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao what he had achieved by “supporting” the BJP government at the Centre.
Speaking to the media in Delhi after the presentation of the Budget, Uttam accused the Central government of misusing the public exchequer for the upcoming elections in five States. “Allocations were higher in election-bound States like West Bengal and Tamil Nadu. Other States were totally neglected,” he alleged.
He further said, “All four BJP MPs from Telangana, including State BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar, should be ashamed for failing Telangana. They should now stop making tall claims.”
“KCR has been in favour of all the policies and decisions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi from the start. In fact, he is more supportive of the PM’s moves than the Chief Ministers of BJP-governed States. However, Telangana did not gain anything from any of the Budgets presented by the BJP,” he said.

Chandrababu: Jagan is answerable for the attack on Pattabhi
TDP Chief and ex-Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Chandrababu Naidu said that the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Jagan Mohan Reddy is answerable for the attacks on Pattabhi. He also said that the YSRCP members attacked Pattabhi with the intention of killing him.
Pattabhi had been hospitalised following the attack on him, at the Gurunanak Hospital in Vijayawada. Chandrababu went to Pattabhi’s house after his discharge and offered his condolences. Chandrababu also said that the attack on Pattabhi is an attack on democracy itself. He said that the YSRCP intentionally attacked Pattabhi and that Pattabhi has no animosity with anyone in his personal life.
Furthermore, Chandrababu questioned if he would be killed too, and asked them to kill him too, just for speaking about the atrocities that the YSRCP is doing in the state. He said that the Police department has to be more responsible towards the people of the state, and should not bend to the whims and fancies of the government, as the people pay the police, and not the government.
Chandrababu said that members of the TDP would go to the Chief Minister’s office and meet with him and give him a memorandum. He said that Pattabhi would also be a part of these members. Chandrababu also requested the people of the state to be more aware of what is going on in the state.
Inside News: Maruthi And Gopichand’s Film To Release On 1st October
We are aware that talented director Maruthi and action hero Gopichand have teamed up for a social drama. Production houses UV Creations and GA 2 Pictures had officially announced the project a few days ago.
The Telugu Bulletin had earlier reported that the film will be on the lines of Hindi super hit, Jolly LLB 2.
Now, we are bringing you another exciting update that the film will hit the screens on 1st of October 2021. Taking to Twitter, producer Sreenivasa Kumar have revealed an interesting poster which doesn’t have any details about the project, except the release date. The producer didn’t even mention the names of a director or a lead actor but hinted his collaboration with Maruthi and Gopichand.
Apparently, this flick will have a strong father-daughter sentiment. Veteran actor Satya Raj will be playing Gopichand’s father. The lead actor will be seen as a lawyer in the film. More details are awaited.
