Ustaad Bhagat Singh Advance Bookings Surge; ₹20 Cr Pre-Sales in Sight

The countdown has begun for the grand theatrical release of Ustaad Bhagat Singh, starring Pawan Kalyan, and the pre-release buzz is reaching new heights.
Advance bookings have picked up strongly across regions, reflecting massive excitement among fans. In just the last 24 hours, the film has recorded an impressive 116.02K ticket sales, underlining its strong momentum at the box office.
What makes this feat even more notable is that the film is performing well despite competition from Dhurandhar 2. With the current pace, Ustaad Bhagat Singh is steadily racing towards the ₹20 crore pre-sales milestone.
Apart from Pawan Kalyan’s star power and his successful reunion with director Harish Shankar, a key factor behind this surge is the makers’ decision to maintain regular ticket pricing. Aggressive promotions, especially the impactful theatrical trailer, have further boosted audience interest and booking trends.
With strong pre-release hype and encouraging early response, trade analysts are confident that Ustaad Bhagat Singh is all set for a thunderous opening at the global box office.
KD: The Devil Song Controversy: Raqueeb Alam Clarifies Role

The song “Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke” from the film KD: The Devil, featuring Nora Fatehi and Sanjay Dutt, has landed in controversy, drawing sharp criticism across social media platforms.
A section of viewers has objected to the track’s alleged double meaning lyrics and suggestive choreography, with many calling it inappropriate. As the backlash intensified, lyricist Raqueeb Alam responded to the criticism.
Raqueeb clarified that he was not the original writer of the song. He revealed that the lyrics were initially penned in Kannada by the film’s director Prem, and he was brought in only to translate them into Hindi at the makers’ request.
He further stated that he had already cautioned the team about possible censorship issues and negative reactions. According to him, while the song eventually hints that it revolves around an alcohol bottle, the earlier portions of the lyrics may come across as inappropriate to listeners.
Raqueeb also shared that he had initially resisted writing such lines and now feels uncomfortable as audiences are assuming he created the controversial lyrics.
In response to the ongoing criticism, the makers have reportedly asked him to come up with a cleaner version of the song, which they plan to release along with an apology.
AIADMK Leader C. V. Shanmugam’s Nayanthara Remark Sparks Outrage

A recent remark by C. V. Shanmugam has triggered widespread criticism on social media. The comment was made during a protest held in Villupuram, organised by the AIADMK to condemn the DMK government over its handling of rising sexual assault cases in the state.
While addressing the gathering, Shanmugam referred to actress Nayanthara in response to Chief Minister M. K. Stalin’s statement encouraging people to dream and share their aspirations. He questioned whether the government would fulfil any dream expressed by the public, adding that if someone said their dream was to marry Nayanthara, would the Chief Minister make that happen.
The remark quickly went viral, drawing sharp criticism from netizens. Many users called it inappropriate and disrespectful to bring a film personality into a political speech, especially considering that Nayanthara is married and has children. Several also urged the actress to respond publicly to the comment.
So far, Nayanthara has not reacted to the controversy. Meanwhile, she continues to focus on her professional commitments, with a busy slate of upcoming films including Mookuthi Amman 2, Toxic, and NBK 111, among others.
Drishyam 3 Release in Doubt Amid Gulf Tensions

The release of Drishyam 3 is currently scheduled for April 2, but uncertainty looms over whether it will hit theatres as planned.
The Gulf market plays a crucial role in the success of Malayalam films, with a significant Malayali population contributing heavily to box office collections. This has been especially true for films starring Mohanlal, whose movies traditionally perform very well in the region.
However, ongoing geopolitical tensions involving Iran, Israel, and the United States have raised concerns about the film’s release in the Gulf. These developments could potentially impact theatrical plans and overall box office prospects.
With more than two weeks remaining, the makers are reportedly evaluating their options and planning promotions accordingly, depending on how the situation unfolds.
Drishyam 3 is the sequel to Drishyam 2 and features a strong cast including Mohanlal, Meena, Esther Anil, and Ansiba Hassan. The film is directed by Jeethu Joseph and produced by Antony Perumbavoor.
Given the franchise’s reputation for gripping storytelling, the film is expected to appeal not just to Malayalam audiences but also to viewers across languages, with subtitles helping it reach a wider audience.
LIK Faces Buzz Dip Ahead of Possible April 3 Release

Director Vignesh Shivan has once again stirred curiosity סביב his upcoming film Love Insurance Kompany (LIK), starring Pradeep Ranganathan. A recent Instagram story shared by the filmmaker has sparked speculation among fans that the film could finally be targeting an April 3 release.
If this hinted date turns out to be true, the team will have barely two weeks to generate buzz—an unusually tight timeline for a project that has already faced multiple delays. This has raised concerns in trade circles, especially given the current lack of strong promotional activity.
Adding to the pressure, the release window is expected to be somewhat crowded, with films like Biker and Rakasa also likely to arrive around the same time. While these may not be major box-office threats, they still contribute to competition for audience attention.
Another challenge for LIK is the noticeable dip in buzz. Despite Pradeep Ranganathan’s recent success streak, repeated postponements appear to have slowed audience excitement. The strong initial hype surrounding the film has gradually faded over time.
If April 3 is indeed the final release date, the makers will need to quickly rebuild momentum with impactful promotional content. Any further delay could deepen the setback, potentially affecting the film’s overall box-office prospects.
