Maruthi Criticizes Sensational Movie Promotions

Share

Director Maruthi has sparked discussions with his bold remarks on the current marketing trends in the film industry. Speaking at the promotional event of Beauty, he criticized the practice of making exaggerated claims and controversial statements just to attract audiences to theatres, calling it a “bad and disappointing trend.”

Revealing a personal anecdote, Maruthi shared how Beauty director Siva Sai Vardhan felt disheartened after his previous film Bhale Unnade flopped. Wanting to uplift a fellow filmmaker, Maruthi immediately offered him a new project. “I always feel for directors. I don’t attend parties because there is nothing I can do there. But if a director is struggling after a failure, I want to motivate and support him,” he explained.

Maruthi also recalled how he once advised the makers of Barbarik to change its title, predicting trouble for the film. When the team refused, the film eventually failed, and its director ended up in a viral video slapping himself with a chappal. Using this example, Maruthi highlighted how sensational statements—like vowing to quit films, hurling abuses at audiences, or making outrageous promises—only harm the industry.

Reflecting on his own career, Maruthi acknowledged being labeled a “Boothu Director” in his early days with films like Ee Rojullo and Bus Stop that had bold content. But over the years, he consciously shifted to family entertainers such as Bhale Bhale Magadivoi, Mahanubhavudu, and Sailaja Reddy Alludu. Now, he is working on a massive project with Prabhas titled Raja Saab, made on a ₹400 Cr budget. “If I want, I can still write double-meaning dialogues better than anyone, but that’s not the path I choose. We need to bring families to theatres and deliver quality cinema,” he said.

Concluding his remarks, Maruthi urged directors and producers to focus on meaningful cinema and take inspiration from his career journey instead of resorting to cheap publicity stunts.

Aamir Khan Confirms Action Film with Lokesh Kanagaraj

Share

Bollywood’s Mr. Perfectionist, Aamir Khan, who was last seen in a cameo role in Coolie, faced heavy trolling for his brief appearance in the film. While the actor himself is aware of the criticism, rumors began circulating that he was reconsidering his collaboration with director Lokesh Kanagaraj.

Putting all speculation to rest, Aamir Khan, in a recent interview, confirmed his next project with Lokesh. “The film that I am doing with Lokesh is a complete action movie. We will be starting this project next year,” he clarified, stressing that it is neither a sequel to Coolie nor connected to his cameo in it.

Responding to reports that he had criticized Coolie or regretted being part of it, Aamir reacted strongly: “What? What nonsense is this? I’ve never said anything like this. You know me for forty years. Am I the kind of person to make such cheap statements?”

Currently, Lokesh Kanagaraj is busy preparing for his acting debut, followed by Kaithi 2. Only after completing these commitments is his film with Aamir expected to go on floors. An official announcement regarding the timeline is awaited.

Dallas Incident Sparks Debate on Indians in America

Share

The recent beheading of an Indian man in Dallas has shocked communities across the United States. While the incident has been linked to a personal dispute, many argue that the underlying racial angle cannot be overlooked in today’s environment.

Adding to the debate, a social media post by Dallas resident Daniel Keene has further inflamed discussions on immigration and cultural assimilation. Sharing a video of Indians celebrating with loud music and dancing on the streets, Keene remarked, “We have to cancel the H-1Bs. I want my kids to grow up in America. Not India.” His comments, paired with the viral visuals, sparked polarized reactions.

Supporters of Keene stressed the need to preserve American values and avoid what they consider cultural intrusion, praising the idea that children should be raised with loyalty and patriotism toward the United States. Critics, however, pointed out that America’s strength lies in its diversity, emphasizing that immigrant children should embrace both their cultural roots and American values.

Given the heightened sensitivities, many believe religious or cultural festivities should be celebrated with restraint, preferably at home, to avoid unnecessary tensions. The Indian diaspora is urged to exercise extra caution, especially as the current Republican-led government holds a strong conservative base. Public displays of strength or overt emotions may trigger backlash in the prevailing climate.

Concerns are also being raised about other activities that contribute to negative perceptions, such as loud religious processions, fan celebrations of film releases, or even students displaying political flags from India at public events. Additionally, incidents of petty crime involving Indians, such as shoplifting, are drawing unwanted attention and further straining Indo-U.S. relations.

Community leaders stress that every action by Indian immigrants is closely watched, and any misstep can fuel resentment or even influence stricter immigration policies. With growing pressures in the U.S. due to inflation, job shortages, and social unrest, the Indian diaspora is being urged to remain vigilant, avoid provocative behavior, and act with responsibility.

The message is clear: in today’s climate, nothing can be taken for granted. NRI communities must prioritize safety, cultural sensitivity, and lawful conduct, not only to safeguard their own well-being but also to protect the long-term standing of Indians in America.

India Clinches Victory Over Pakistan in Asia Cup 2025

Share

In one of the most anticipated encounters of the Asia Cup 2025, India registered a convincing seven-wicket win over Pakistan in Dubai. After opting to bat first, Pakistan struggled against India’s disciplined bowling attack and managed only 127 runs for the loss of nine wickets in their allotted 20 overs. The low total put pressure on Pakistan early, as India’s spinners and pacers combined effectively to restrict their scoring opportunities.

India’s chase was swift and calculated, with young opener Abhishek Sharma setting the tone with a quickfire 31 from 13 balls. Tilak Varma added stability with another 31, while skipper Suryakumar Yadav guided the innings with a composed unbeaten 47 from 37 deliveries. The target was comfortably achieved in 15.5 overs, underscoring India’s dominance throughout the match.

The victory strengthens India’s position at the top of Group A and significantly boosts their chances of qualifying for the Super 4 stage. For Pakistan, the defeat serves as a setback, adding pressure on their upcoming fixtures as they seek to stay in contention for the next round.

Asia Cup: India, Pakistan Skippers Skip Handshakes

Share

The Asia Cup Group A clash between India and Pakistan on Sunday ended on an unusual note, as players from both teams chose not to shake hands after the match.

Earlier, Indian skipper Suryakumar Yadav and Pakistan’s Agha Salman also skipped the customary handshake at the toss, a moment that stood out given the long-standing tradition of captains exchanging greetings before internationals.

Instead, both captains submitted their team sheets directly to match referee Andy Pycroft and interacted briefly with commentator Ravi Shastri, who conducted the toss, before walking away without any eye contact or gestures.

According to a BCCI source cited by PTI, there was no breach of conduct. Tournament protocols vary, and handshakes at the toss are not always mandatory. The official further noted that Suryakumar had also refrained from shaking hands with UAE skipper Muhammad Waseem during the previous match’s toss.

This encounter marked the first India-Pakistan face-off since the Pahalgam terror attacks in April, followed by Indian military action across the border in May.

Despite the tense political and emotional backdrop, the Indian camp emphasized that their focus remained firmly on cricket, acknowledging the sensitivities surrounding the fixture but maintaining a professional approach.
