Balakrishna, Shiva Rajkumar Unite for Akhanda 2 Trailer Launch

Share

Nata Simham Nandamuri Balakrishna and the Akhanda 2 team are leaving no stone unturned in their Pan-India promotions. The grand trailer launch took place today in Karnataka, where Karunada Chakravarthy Shiva Rajkumar graced the event as the chief guest.

Director Boyapati Srinu expressed his gratitude to Shiva Rajkumar for unveiling the trailer.
“This is a film deeply rooted in the spirit and philosophy of Shiva. Having Shivanna launch the trailer is a matter of immense pride for us. Despite the heavy rain, both Balayya and Shivanna didn’t want to disappoint fans. They insisted on meeting you all and offering their greetings in person.

If you’re wondering what kind of film you are about to witness, let me put it simply: If anyone attempts to bring dishonor to this nation, Dharma itself rises, wielding the trident of justice. Akhanda 2 is built on that very idea.”

Shiva Rajkumar spoke warmly about his long-standing bond with Balakrishna’s family.
“We are like one family — like brothers. Whether it’s fights, dance, or anything else, Balakrishna always goes one step ahead. Get ready to celebrate Akhanda 2 in theatres on December 5th.”

Balakrishna, too, addressed the gathering with emotion, saying nature had blessed the film with showers of good fortune.
“Akhanda 2 is not just a Telugu or Kannada film — it is a Pan-Indian film. The essence of Sanathana Dharma runs through it. My films always carry a message for the youth, guiding them toward the right path. Akhanda 2 reflects the roots of our country, teaching why we must uphold Dharma and never bow before Adharma.”

Balakrishna also made an interesting revelation about his admiration for Shiva Rajkumar.
“I have no hesitation in saying that I took inspiration for my look in Veera Simha Reddy from Shivanna’s appearance in Mufti,” he shared, earning cheers from the audience.

With powerful dialogues, emotional bonding, and spiritual depth, the event set the perfect tone for the film’s grand release on December 5.

Siddaramaiah’s Reservation Push Sparks Major Debate

Share

When Dr. B.R. Ambedkar introduced reservations in the Constitution, the provision was intended solely for the depressed classes — and only for a period of ten years. Yet, being the visionary he was, Ambedkar likely understood that once implemented in a country as complex as India, rolling back reservations would be nearly impossible.

Decades later, Prime Minister V.P. Singh expanded reservations to the backward classes — a move widely seen as driven by political survival. The decision ignited nationwide protests and unrest, marking one of the most turbulent phases in India’s social history.

Today, India finds itself in a situation where almost every caste is demanding reservation. The system, originally designed to uplift the historically oppressed, has evolved into something far more complicated. When the benefits of reservation pass from one generation to the next within the same families, it raises serious questions about fairness and effectiveness. For example: should the children of IAS or IPS officers continue to qualify for reserved seats and jobs? Is that either morally or logically defensible?

Former President K.R. Narayanan once proposed extending reservations into the private sector. Now, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has reignited that debate by insisting that private companies should be mandated to implement reservations as well.

The timing is contentious. Bengaluru’s infrastructure woes are already a point of criticism among global corporations. Introducing compulsory reservations in private firms would undoubtedly send shockwaves through the business ecosystem.

India’s non-reserved categories have largely managed to thrive because of the economic reforms of 1991 under P.V. Narasimha Rao, which opened the nation to global markets and gave the private sector room to grow. Siddaramaiah’s proposal raises a provocative question:

RGV Slams Piracy, Calls for Punishing Viewers Too

Share

Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has once again stirred debate, this time by addressing the widespread problem of film piracy through a hard-hitting social media post.
The Sarkar director called out not only the suppliers of pirated content but also the people who actively consume and support it. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), RGV wrote:

“ROBIN HOOD RAVI… Piracy will never stop. Not because technology is too advanced or policing too weak, but because as long as there are a large number of people to watch a pirated film, there will always be Ravis to serve them. The funniest thing is Ravi supporters proudly comparing him to Robin Hood as if they discovered some Nobel Prize–winning logic.”
He went on to argue that glorifying piracy by comparing it to Robin Hood–style heroism is deeply flawed.

RGV added, “Robin Hood is not a hero. By today’s definition, he is the world’s first recorded terrorist. He loots and kills the haves to give to the have-nots, and the only ‘crime’ of the rich is that they are rich. It is depraved to think financial success is a crime punishable by theft and murder. Romanticizing a criminal as a saint because the recipients get stolen goods for free shows extreme ignorance.”

The filmmaker further mocked the justification that movie tickets are too expensive. He argued that by the same logic, people should also support robbing luxury car showrooms and distributing BMWs for free.

RGV warned that such thinking would only lead to social breakdown and anarchy. According to him, people don’t watch pirated content due to moral principles—they do it simply because “it’s convenient.”

However, he didn’t stop at criticism and proposed a controversial solution to stop piracy.
RGV suggested that authorities should criminalise viewers in addition to suppliers.
“Catching the pirate is difficult because he hides behind secret digital ghettos. But catching the viewer is easy. Arrest 100 random people watching pirated content and publicise their names,” he wrote.

With this bold stance, Ram Gopal Varma has reignited conversation about India’s ongoing battle with piracy and the mindset that enables it.

Hrithik Roshan Trolls Himself Over War 2 Box Office Flop

Share

Hrithik Roshan has finally addressed the underwhelming box office performance of War 2—and did so in the most unexpected way: by poking fun at himself.

At a recent event at Dubai’s Coca Cola Arena, Hrithik was greeted with applause and hailed as a “global icon” by the host. With the crowd cheering, he responded with humor and honesty, saying, “That’s very kind of you… You know, my film just bombed at the box office, so it feels very good to get all the love. Thank you.”

War 2, starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, hit theaters on August 14 with sky-high expectations but failed to make the mark. The action thriller received mixed reviews, with critics pointing to weak writing and lackluster VFX. Despite being part of YRF’s successful Spy Universe, following hits like Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai, War, Pathaan, and Tiger 3, the film underperformed.

Directed by Ayan Mukerji, the movie also features Ashutosh Rana and Kiara Advani in pivotal roles. While fans anticipated a grand spectacle, War 2 fell short of the hype, making Hrithik’s playful self-troll all the more memorable.

Girija Oak Reveals How Kissing Scenes Are Shot

Share

If you’re a film buff, you’ve likely wondered how kissing scenes are actually shot—those intimate moments that look so natural on screen. Do they require special skills from actors? Actress Girija Oak recently gave a brutally honest peek behind the curtain, revealing just how “mechanical” these scenes really are.

In a candid interview with Lallantop, Girija was asked how she mentally prepares to romance a complete stranger on camera. The Jawan actress explained that many women have asked her the same question, but the truth is, there’s nothing romantic about shooting a kissing scene.

She described the chaotic on-set conditions: “The ACs are switched off so the sound isn’t disturbed, and you’re sweating nonstop. There’s a mic stuck to you, someone is drying your sweat with a hairdryer, another person is adjusting the lights with a piece of thermocol, and yet another is fixing your hair. With so many people staring at you, how can anyone romance?”

Giving more behind-the-scenes insight, Girija added, “Someone once asked me how kissing on screen feels. I said it feels like kissing cardboard. There’s no emotion at all; everything is mechanical. During close-ups, the other actor isn’t even really there. You’re often looking at the camera or at the edge of a stand. I’ve had entire emotional conversations while staring at thermocol or a black cloth.”

Girija Oak, who has worked in Kannada cinema with films like House Full, also appeared in Bollywood hits such as Taare Zameen Par (2007), Shor in the City (2010), and most recently in Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan (2023). She starred in the Sony TV show Ladies Special, which focused on the lives of women commuting via the Ladies Special train in Mumbai.

IDF Uncovers Gaza’s Largest Tunnel Linked to Hadar Goldin

Share

Israel’s military campaign in Gaza continues despite the recent ceasefire agreement, as the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) pursue their stated objective of dismantling Hamas’s military infrastructure. In a significant development, the IDF announced the discovery of what it describes as the largest tunnel uncovered in Gaza to date—a vast, seven-kilometre underground complex used by Hamas for command, shelter, and concealment.

Running 25 metres beneath densely populated neighbourhoods near the Philadelphi Corridor, the tunnel reportedly extended under sensitive civilian sites, including the UNRWA compound, mosques, clinics and schools. According to IDF officials, the structure functioned as an “underground city,” featuring tiled corridors, approximately 80 rooms, long-term living facilities, Western-style bathrooms, weapons storage areas, and command-and-control centres.

The IDF believes senior Hamas commanders, including Rafah Brigade Commander Mohammad Shabaneh, operated from within the tunnel. Evidence found at the site also indicated that abducted Israeli soldier Lieutenant Hadar Goldin had been held there. Goldin, captured during the 2014 Gaza War shortly after a ceasefire took effect, was confirmed to have been kept in the facility. Personal belongings linked to him were recovered during the operation.

The uncovering and destruction of the tunnel were carried out by elite units including Yahalom, Shayetet 13, the 162nd Division, and the Gaza Division. Israel’s Southern Command stated that similar operations will continue to eliminate threats posed by Hamas’ extensive underground network.

The discovery comes shortly after the long-awaited return of Goldin’s remains. Abducted at age 23, he became a symbol of national sacrifice during his 4,118 days in captivity. His body was repatriated on November 9, 2025, and he was laid to rest on November 11 in Kfar Saba, marking the end of an 11-year ordeal for his family.

IAF Tejas Mk-1 Crashes at Dubai Air Show; Pilot Confirmed Dead

Share

An Indian Air Force (IAF) Tejas Mk-1 light combat aircraft crashed during a flying display at the Dubai Air Show on Friday, sending thick black smoke rising above the airfield and leaving spectators in shock. The accident occurred around 2:10 p.m. local time, and despite immediate emergency response, the pilot unfortunately did not survive, according to the latest official reports.

The crash comes a day after the Indian government dismissed social media videos alleging an oil leak on the Tejas during the event, terming them misleading and part of an attempt to undermine confidence in the aircraft. The Tejas Mk-1, a vital pillar of India’s indigenous defence aviation programme, is routinely showcased at global airshows as a demonstration of the country’s growing aerospace capabilities.

A detailed investigation is expected to examine the aircraft’s condition, mission parameters, and environmental factors—including humidity and unexpected weather conditions—that may have contributed to the mishap. While the incident is a setback for India’s aerospace ambitions and defence diplomacy efforts, authorities have urged against drawing premature conclusions about potential design issues.

The international aviation and defence community is now awaiting further official statements to understand the sequence of events and the root cause of the tragic crash.

Jagan Urges Naidu to Protect AP’s Krishna Water Rights

Share

YSR Congress Party president Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has called on Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to prioritize the state’s interests ahead of the Krishna Water Disputes Tribunal-II (KWDT-II) hearings.

In a letter to CM Naidu, Jagan emphasized that the upcoming KWDT-II proceedings present a critical opportunity for the state government to defend Andhra Pradesh’s rights over Krishna river waters. He highlighted Telangana’s demand for 763 TMC of dependable Krishna water, warning that approval of this request would constitute a severe injustice to Andhra Pradesh.

Jagan criticized the TDP-led state government for allegedly lacking sincerity in protecting Andhra Pradesh’s water rights. He wrote, “It is distressing that the TDP coalition government is presenting weak arguments before KWDT-II and showing indifference toward crucial Rayalaseema projects.”

Referring to Karnataka’s decision to approve land acquisition for raising the Almatti Dam height from 519.16 meters to 524.256 meters, Jagan noted that similar works began when Naidu was the Chief Minister of united Andhra Pradesh and convener of the United Front in 1996. Despite opposition and farmers’ protests, Naidu had allegedly ignored concerns, which later led the Brijesh Kumar Tribunal to permit Karnataka’s dam height increase.

Jagan further stated that the TDP government formed in 2014 had relinquished Andhra Pradesh’s rights over Krishna river waters to Telangana, aggravating the current situation.

He urged CM Naidu to act decisively to protect the state’s interests, warning that even the loss of one TMC from the 512 TMC allocated by the Bachawat Tribunal would make the TDP government accountable.

“At this crucial juncture, it is imperative that the TDP coalition government demonstrates commitment and safeguards Andhra Pradesh’s water rights,” Jagan concluded.

Akhanda 2 Trailer: Balakrishna Returns with Action & Devotion

Share

Exactly two weeks from now, on December 5th, Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Akhanda 2 will hit theaters, and the promotional campaign is already in full swing. The theatrical trailer was launched today in Bangalore, with Kannada superstar Shiva Rajkumar gracing the event.

The film’s narrative revolves around a crisis that threatens Sanatana Dharma, with enemies—both domestic and foreign—determined to crush faith and tradition. Rising against these forces is the protagonist, who storms in with unbridled fury, blending patriotic fervor with devotional intensity.

Director Boyapati Sreenu appears to have scaled up the grandeur this time, balancing high-octane action with emotional depth. The Kumbh Mela sequence is a standout moment, combining stunning visuals with heartfelt drama.

Balakrishna shines in dual roles, but it is his Akhanda avatar that dominates the screen. His commanding body language, powerful dialogue delivery, and intense screen presence make him the undisputed highlight. Aadhi Pinisetty impresses as the menacing antagonist, while Samyuktha takes the lead as the heroine. The trailer also teases Harshali Malhotra’s intriguing character.

S. Thaman elevates the visuals further with a pulsating background score that adds energy and drama to every frame. Produced by Raam Achanta and Gopi Achanta, and presented by M. Tejaswini Nandamuri under the 14 Reels Plus banner, the film’s production values are top-notch, evident in every meticulously crafted frame.

With a mix of patriotism, devotion, and high-octane action, Akhanda 2 promises a grand cinematic experience for fans and mass audiences alike.

Premante Review: No Love, No Thrill

Share

Priyadarshi, who delivered a major hit with The Court and followed it up with Sarangapani Jathakam, has been keeping himself busy with back-to-back projects, including Mithra Mandali and now Premante. This time, he teams up with Anandhi, a talented and charming Telugu actress. Let’s see what the film offers.

Story:
Madhu (Priyadarshi) and Ramya (Anandhi) meet at a wedding and instantly click. Their families approve, and they soon get married. Madhu runs a small firm, Sujatha Security Agency, but Ramya later discovers that he is secretly a thief. Meanwhile, head constable Asha Mary (Suma Kanakala), assisted by her senior Sampath (Vennela Kishore), tries to crack a series of thefts in the city. What happens next forms the main narrative.

Performances:
Priyadarshi is recognized among youth audiences, but he heavily depends on strong writing and dialogues. Unfortunately, the script doesn’t provide him much to work with, and his efforts fail to elevate the film. Anandhi has screen presence and can emote well, but her inconsistent character arc—from a soft-spoken, moral woman to actively supporting theft—confuses the audience and undermines emotional connection.

Suma Kanakala’s comedic timing doesn’t shine here, as she sticks to the scripted dialogues, making her character bland. Vennela Kishore manages occasional laughs with situational lines. Supporting actors like Ravi Prakash, Meka Venkateswara Rao, and E.I. Padamaja are adequate, while Hyper Aadi and Ram Prasad are underutilized.

Technical Aspects:
Music is average, with songs like Daachaave Nanne failing to leave a lasting impression. Editing and cinematography are neat, but technical proficiency cannot compensate for the weak script.

Highlights:

  • Lead actors’ effort

Drawbacks:

  • Poorly written heroine
  • No emotional resonance
  • Weak climax

Analysis:
The title Premante… and the tagline Thrill Praptirastu promise love and thrill, but the film delivers neither. The leads’ actions make them hard to empathize with, as their crimes feel unjustified. A few humorous moments, like the protagonists looting high-profile homes with name boards reading Konidela Nilayam and Daggubati Nilayam, bring mild smiles, but they are few and far between.

The major issue is the heroine’s characterization. Initially portrayed as morally upright, she suddenly supports criminal behavior with little explanation, breaking narrative coherence and emotional engagement. The film had potential to be a quirky, entertaining crime-comedy for Gen-Z audiences, but inconsistent writing and an uninspiring screenplay prevent it from hitting the mark.

Bottom Line:
Despite a promising concept and capable cast, Premante struggles with inconsistent characters, weak writing, and negligible thrill. Ultimately, it leaves the audience with no love and nil excitement.
