Don’t Use Fruits & Vegetables Of That Region: NEERI Team!
An expert team from CSIR NEERI (National Environmental Engineering Research Institute) has on Monday visited LG Polymers site in RR Vishakapatnam to assess the impact of leaked styrene gas which killed around 11 people. Besides suggesting that people who are affected with gas leak should undergo medical tests for next one year, the expert team has collected the samples of vegetables, fruits and leaves to test if they are toxic.
The people in nearby five villages, upto a radius of 5 Kms, were asked not to consume fruits and vegetables that are cultivated in that region. The expert team, which has identified the remains of styrene in residential area and highways, prepared an extensive report and it will being sent to government of India. In one of the residences, they have identified the high styrene density of 1.7 PPM (parts per million). According to govt regulations, it should be less than 5 PPB (parts per billion).
The Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) has found that levels of styrene was 2,500 times higher than the normal limits prescribed by regulators on the day of gas leak.
The expert suggested GVMC to truncate the plants and trees that are affected with styrene organic compound. The usage of water from nearby rivers is totally barred. The expert team further said that public places and auto vehicles will have to be cleaned using Sodium Hydrocloride.
Throwback to flashback: The bright side of Sr.NTR!
Talented actor Sr.NTR is a kind-hearted person who was in the forefront to help deprived people always. He has an altruistic heart and always loved to help people including his producers and directors in various ways. Here’s one incident, which clearly depicts Sr.NTR’s kind-heart.
The legendary film director K.V Reddy, who was the man behind NTR’s blockbuster hits such as Paatala Bhairavi and Mayabazar, was in financial crisis and he was unable to send his son to the U.S for further studies. So, a helpless K.V Reddy approached Sr.NTR to seek his help.
After listening to K.V Reddy’s financial troubles, Sr.NTR immediately arranged money for K.V.Reddy’s son studies. And Sr.NTR also asked K.V Reddy to take the money as the remuneration for their next film under his own production house.
This is the bright side of Sr.NTR, which made him a real star on-screen and off-screen.
What CMs Said On Lockdown In Video Meet With Modi
At the Prime Minister’s fifth video conference with Chief Ministers of different states and Union Territories, at least five states advocated an extension of the current lockdown. However they were outnumbered by many states and UTs who asked for more relaxation in terms of opening up the economy while keeping certain restrictions.
Sources say, the states that demanded an extension included Telangana, Maharashtra, and West Bengal.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray vociferously made a pitch for the extension of the current lockdown, stating lifting it will grossly impact the state’s efforts to contain the virus. Maharashtra has been the worst-hit with more than 22,000 cases of Covid-19.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who was believed to be in a fiery mood, also pitched for the extension. Punjab too is inclined towards an extension given the spike in numbers after many migrants from Maharashtra reached back home. Earlier, in an exclusive interview to IANS, Punjab Chief Minister, Capt Amarinder Singh blamed Maharashtra government’s “negligence” for Punjab’s “sufferings”.
Amarinder Singh also sought a well-crafted exit policy and economic empowerment. He urged PM Modi that zoning should be left to states. He also sought fiscal aid for states to meet at least 33 per cent of committed liabilities.
There were at least two Chief Ministers – of Telanagana and Tamil Nadu – who raised their objections to the resumption of railway services. Both Chief Ministers K. Chandrasekhar Rao and E. Palaniswami claimed it will undo all the gains of lockdown and the “time” for resumption of railway services hasn’t come, yet. Last night, the Centre announced that from May 12, it will slowly restart train services.
However, there were others who demanded more relaxations. One of them being Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. He not only wanted relaxation of rules but demanded resumption of inter-state transport service. However, he stated that Andhra Pradesh requires Rs 16,000 crore immediately to fight Covid-19.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is believed to have told the PM to ensure economic activities across the national capital save the containment zones. Interestingly, the entire Delhi comes under red zone.
This was Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s fifth such interaction. Sources said the focus of the meeting was on further increasing economic activities and on tackling the pandemic in containment zones as the lockdown 3.0 is to end on May 17.
The lockdown, enforced on March 25, was originally supposed to end on April 14. It was then extended to May 3, and then again to May 17.
The Hero Of #VizagGasLeak Tragedy
The chemical gas leak in Vizag has shaken the entire nation. Prime Minister Narendra Modi personally held a meeting with NDRF and other officials to access the damage. Such is the impact of the gas leak episode. But whenever such incidents happen, people tend to panic and there are high chances of chaotic circumstance. Yet even in such testing times, officials need to be alert and make timely suggestions to save lives of people which really matter the most.
A person has saved nearly one thousand people’s lives in this Vizag gas leak tragedy and he is Vizag zone two DCP Uday Bhaskar. As soon as the DCP got to know about the gas leak, he did alert his team. Patrol vehicles were deployed at five surrounding villages of RR Venkatapuram and vehicles’ siren woke the people up.
The siren was followed by the announcement of police. This made the people understand what has really happened and Uday Bhaskar deployed vehicles for moment of people to safer zones. Like so nearly a thousand people were shifted in hours time. Uday Bhaskar also did take care of oldies who have inhaled the gas and they were rushed to hospitals immediately.
This fast and timely action of Uday Bhaskar has saved the precious lives, if not Vizag could have witness another Bhopal gas tragedy. Learning about this, CM YS Jagan personally appreciated Uday Bhaskar for responding on time and saving the people’s lives. In no time, Jagan also recommended Uday Bhaskar’s name for President’s medal which could be the real appreciation for his outstanding service.
Take a bow DCP Uday Bhaskar!
Keerthi Suresh’s Next To Release On Amazon Directly
One of the happening heroines of sorts is Keerthi Suresh. Though the actress hasn’t signed biggies after movies like Agnyaathavasi, surely the success of Mahanati has kept her high on the pedestal. However, she has a horde of small budgeted films in her hands right now.
While she has female-centric film Miss India directed by a newcomer, ready for release, the likes of Nithi’s Rang De and Nagesh Kukunoor’s Good Luck Sakhi are the other movies in the pipeline. At the same time, Keerthi also acted in Tamil-Telugu film titled “Penguin” which is produced by “Pizza” fame Karthik Subbaraj. And now, reports are coming out that the makers are going to spring a surprise for Keeethy’s fans.
After Jyothika’s Ponmagal Vandhal, many Tamil producers are banging the doors of OTT platforms to release their films that are ready for a release. But these films will have a straight OTT release rather waiting for theatres to re-open. Reports are coming out that even Keerthi’s Penguin also made a deal with Amazon’s Prime Video and the film might release online in June first week.
If that happens, Keerthi will be one of the those youngest stars to have a direct release on OTT. Talk in Tollywood is that Anushka’s Nishabdam is also looking forward to seal the deal, but producers haven’t opened up on it yet.

KCR Makes Key Suggestions, Will Modi Consider?
The fifth video conference of Prime Minister Narendra Modi with Chief Ministers of the states has concluded sometime back. In this conference, Modi discussed about the lockdown, issues pertaining to migrant workers, measures being taken at Red Zones and others.
From the beginning Telangana CM KCR has been making key suggestions to the Centre due to lockdown and dipping economy. But the Centre is not really taking into consideration any of them. Yet once again KCR has made a few recommendations to PM Modi in the video conference and here are the highlights.
Passenger trains should not be resumed as major cities like Mumbai, New Delhi, Hyderabad and Chennai are reporting high number of cases. If the trains operate from these cities, there are high chances of the virus spreading and it would be uncontrollable.
Rescheduling of loans. Just like how the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) put-off the loans, EMIs and stuff, the loans pertaining to State government should be rescheduled.
The Fiscal Responsibility and Budget Management (FRMB) limit which gives the states to borrow money from banks should be raised. KCR has made this recommendation previously too.
Regarding migrant workers, the Shramik trains should operate continuously. Hundreds of people from Bihar work in rice mills in Telangana. The migrants should be give free hand to travel from their native place to the other regions in the country.
KCR mentioned about the lack of coordination between Central and state agencies in declaring a zone as orange or green depending upon the threat of Corona. The Telangana CM cited that the Centre should not take much time in announcing this.
Coming to the Red zones, KCR said the lockdown should be implemented at these places in strict manner no matter what.
The most important suggestion was KCR said people will have to live with Corona as it would take considerable time in bringing the right vaccine. For that the fear in people should be removed by both Centre and state government initiatives.
KCR also talked about the vaccine preparation. He added that several bio-tech, pharma and other companies are seriously working to come up with vaccine for Corona. KCR is hopeful that it may not take that long than the expected time.
About the medical equipment such as PPEs, medicines, masks and other stuff, KCR informed Modi that the state has sufficient stock.
Harish Excites Pawan’s Fans, Brings DSP On Board
Powerstar Pawan Kalyan’s comeback to the film has elated his movie fans and it is not an exaggeration to say that few directors and producers are equally ecstatic. While his Vakeel Saab is being considered as a little off-beat movie, the fans had been waiting for a proper combination that could give them the high of vintage Pawan Kalyan. That is when the Mythri Movie Makers announced PSPK28 in Harish Shankar’s direction.
Harish Shankar assured fans many a time after the announcement that he will try to make a power-packed film like Gabbar Singh and today, there is an interesting announcement scheduled from the director at 8 PM. It is all about the music director of the film, and Harish Shankar is repeating the same blockbuster combination of Gabbar Singh. Devi Sri Prasad is aboard for PSPK28 and any other news today can’t excite the fans more than this.
Gabbar Singh remains a milestone in Pawan Kalyan’s films and his Fans developed a special love for Harish and Devi Sri Since the movie. All the songs and particularly the BGM was sensational then. Now that the trio is back for yet again an obvious mass and commercial film, Pawan Kalyan’s fans are shifting their prime focus on this film and the expectations will be going sky high.
Also that Gabbar Singh movie completed 8 years and the fans are on high with celebrations all over the social media with #8yrsofGabbarSinghHysteria while it trended on top in India with more than 5 million tweets. Harish Shankar too enjoyed the celebrations with the fans tweeting a tsunami and he said ‘Ee Roju Malli Cinema Release Ainattundi!!”
Now that the Gabbar Singh combination is set, Pawan Kalyan will be finishing his Vakeel Saab and Virupaksha with Krish, before joining the shoot for PSPK28 with Harish Shankar
Kuchipudi Vaari Veedhi- Hero Being Extra Cautious?
One of the most talented actors in the Telugu industry but now struggling to score a hit is none other than Sharwanand. His recent movies including Padi Padi Lechenu Manasu, Ranarangam and Jaanu have gone for a whitewash at the box office with audiences rejecting them outright.
Right now, Sharwanand is pinning all the hopes on his upcoming movie “Srikaram” which happens to be a story revolving around farmers. However, the hero wants to repair his commercial market through RX100 fame Ajay Bhupathi’s Mahasamudram. In this process, actually he has kept director Srikanth Addala’s “Kuchipudi Vaari Veedhi” on a hold, which he has to do for Geetha Arts.
Reports are coming that Srikanth has recently tweaked the subject a bit and narrated to Sharwa once again, but the hero hasn’t given a go fro the project. Apparently Sharwa wants to see how Addala’s upcoming movie Narappa, which happens to be a remake of Tamil flick Asuran, does at the box office. After watching the result of that film, he will take a call on Kuchipudi Vaari Veedhi.
One can understand the fact that Sharwa is being extra-cautious and we have to see what Srikanth Addala does now. Except for a couple of weeks shoot, Narappa featuring Venkatesh, Priyamani in the leads is almost complete.
Forget the Word ‘Lockdown Ends’?
While the people are anxious to know of the outcome of the PM meeting with CMs on lockdown, it is learnt that the central government is not contemplating to lift the lockdown but only easing the restrictions.
According to sources, lockdown will continue at least in a subdued form till schools and cinemas are opened. Since the lockdown was announced on March 24, schools, malls, cinemas and religious places of worship have remained shut fearing the spread of coronavirus.
The governments, sources said, will only relax the norms and make minor changes in the timings but lockdown is likely to stay as the higher officials feel there should be some curbs to check people from flocking on to the roads. As India is a densely populated country, medical experts fear that there would be a catastrophe if people were left unchecked on roads.
Even public transport has been suspended since the lockdown has come into force.
Now, lockdown does not mean shutting down businesses like in the last few days. Almost 90 per cent of the activities are likely to resume after May 17 but with a rider of mandatory measures like wearing masks, keeping sanitisers available for the customers and observing physical distancing.
Even in red zones, business activities will resume with some restrictions.
Actress: Managing two kids an uphill task

Amid the lockdown, Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty Kundra is glad that she is getting to spend time with her children, but says keeping her kids entertained through the day is an uphill task.
“Owing to my erratic working hours, I am grateful that the lockdown has given me more time to spend with my family, especially my kids, so I can’t complain,” Shilpa said.
“But, I do agree that sometimes it is an uphill task to manage two kids and keep my seven-year-old entertained through the day, for days on end considering we are very strict on screen time being on weekends only,” added the actress, who has a son Viaan and daughter Samisha.
Most Bollywood moms would agree with Shilpa. Genelia Deshmukh said: “Being a mum is exhausting sometimes, and even more so in the current situation.”
Added Soha Ali Khan: “When one has super active kids, there aren’t many opportunities for moms to be able to relax in the day.”
She added OTT platforms as Disney+ Hotstar had an array of content for children.
