Former US Vice President Kamala Harris has dropped a major hint about her political future, suggesting that she might make another run for the White House. In an interview with the BBC, Harris expressed confidence that America would eventually see a woman President — possibly even her.

“I am not done,” Harris stated firmly, emphasizing that public service has always been central to her life. Reflecting on her long political journey, she said, “I have lived my entire career as a life of service — it’s in my bones.”

Her comments mark the clearest indication yet that she may contest in the 2028 Presidential election, following her 2024 defeat to current President Donald Trump. Harris, however, noted that she hasn’t made a final decision and continues to stay active in American politics.

When asked about her chances and recent polls showing her behind other Democratic contenders, Harris dismissed their relevance. “If I listened to polls, I wouldn’t have run for my first office, or my second — and I certainly wouldn’t be sitting here,” she said.

The discussion also touched upon her 2024 campaign, when she replaced then-President Joe Biden as the Democratic nominee after he withdrew from the race. Many Democrats are now preparing early for the 2028 contest, with leaders like California Governor Gavin Newsom, Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear, and Representative Ro Khanna reportedly exploring their options.

As the Democratic Party continues to analyze its 2024 loss to Trump, some have questioned whether Harris could have presented a stronger message — particularly on economic issues.

Reacting to Harris’s latest remarks, Trump campaign spokeswoman Abigail Jackson said, “When Kamala Harris lost the election in a landslide, she should have taken the hint — the American people don’t care about her absurd lies. Or maybe she did take the hint, which is why she’s airing her grievances to foreign media.”
