One of the biggest clashes that Telugu audiences are going to see very soon on the silver screen is nothing but the release of Allu Arjun’s Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo and Mahesh Babu’s Sarileru Neekevvaru on the same date ie., Jan 12, 2020. More than the clash, what will Tollywood look into these two films when it comes to their numbers is this.

After Baahubali 2, we have only Rangasthalam, Khaidi No 150, Saaho and Sye Raa breaching the coveted “100 crores share” mark. Though Mahesh Babu tried to reach it a couple of times, his Maharshi ended up close but failed to close it. Coming to Allu Arjun, his Naa Peru Surya took him nowhere near to it.

These days, almost every film of big stars is finishing a 100+ crores business in Telugu states alone. But the film needs to be promoted huge, and then it should get a tremendous positive buzz from the box office on the day of release to accumulate big numbers in the ensuing weeks. Can Sarileru Neekevvaru and Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo do this feat then?

Other day, former heroine Charmme, who is now heading Puri Jagan’s production house and also co-producing films with him, has a tough situation from netizens. This happened after she shared a picture of her on her social media page.

Apparently Charmme shared a picture that has her doing the reverse back-bend in a gym. Looking at her chubby avatar (and with the fact that there are no acting offers in her hand), many think that Charmme actually gave up workouts long back. But by looking at this back-bend picture, many got stunned and shocked too.

A section of fans, however, refused to believe that the girl wearing sexy tight shorts in the picture is Charmme herself. As those comments reached the ears of the hot lady, she has today posted another picture where she managed to showcase her face in the very same pose.

“For all those who wanted to c my face managed for a click after a killer session,” says Charmme as she shared the picture. On the work front, she is said to be heading to Goa very soon to wrap the next schedule of Puri’s son Akash upcoming movie ‘Romantic.’

KCR toughens stand on RTC strike as deadline nears

Hyderabad: The Telangana government here on Monday said it would not take back any striking employee of the Road Transport Corporation (RTC) after the expiry of November 5 deadline, while agitating employees ruled out joining duties without the government meeting their demands.

With just a day left for the deadline to end and only a handful of employees rejoining duties since the cabinet’s decision on Saturday, Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao on Monday reviewed the situation.

According to the Chief Minister’s Office, it was decided not to take back any employee who fail to report to duty by Tuesday midnight.

Stating that employees were given a good opportunity, the government said it was up to them to protect their jobs or put their families to hardships.

If the employees didn’t join the duties before expiry of the deadline, private buses would be given permits on the remaining 5,000 routes and then there would be no entity called RTC in the state, the government said.

The cabinet on Saturday decided to give permits to private operators to run buses on 5,100 routes.

Monday’s meeting discussed the strategy in the backdrop of strike, which entered 31st day, and the high court hearing of the case. Advice from the experts was taken while labour laws and the central government’s Motor Vehicle Act were examined.

The meeting felt the RTC union was misleading workers citing the high court hearing of the case.

“According to legal experts, the high court has not given any directives on the strike to the government. There is nothing the court can do. If the court verdict is contrary, having come this far on the matter, both the RTC and the government would move the Supreme Court,” it said.

Over 48,000 RTC employees are on strike since October 5 to press for their 26 demands, including the RTC’s merger with the government.

Meanwhile, the Joint Action Committee (JAC) said there was no question of employees returning to work without the government meeting demands. JAC convenor Ashwathama Reddy said despite KCR’s deadline, employees had not returned to work. Of the 11 employees who joined the duties on Sunday, five came back on Monday.

JAC leaders said they were ready to call off the strike provided the government held talks with them on their demands.

Sree Vishnu who has carved a niche for him with honest performances in films like ‘Mental Madhilo’, ‘Needi Naadi Oke Katha’ and ‘Brochevarevarura’ is a reserved person.

“I act in front of the camera but I can’t do the same off the camera. I don’t act in real life,” Sree Vishnu replies.

This question was posed by his ‘Brochevarevura’ director Vivek Athreya who has come forward to interview Sree Vishnu as his new film “Thipparaa Meesam” is hitting the screens this Friday.

In Vivek Athreya’s “Brochevarevarura”, Sree Vishnu was seen as a simple youngster, a soft-natured guy. In “Thipparaa Meesam”, as the title would suggest, his aggressive side will be put on display.

However, Sree Vishnu says he twirls the mustache for silly reasons in most parts of the movie.

“There comes a moment in his life that makes him realize that mustache should be twirled for momentous occasions but not for pretty incidents. That is the crux of the story,” he explains when Vivek Athreya asked about the title.

“Thipparaa Meesam” is directed by Krishna Vijay.

Vivek tried to know the reason for Sree Vishnu’s emotional speech at the film’s event about the mother’s character in the film.

“In my opinion, only a mother’s love is a pure form of love. The mother character, which is played by Rohini, is the real hero in this story. And off the sets, she was like a mother figure to me,” he said.

Superstar Mahesh Babu will not be working for at least three months in the new year. This is because he has to take a call on his next film.

Anil Ravipudi has already prepared a storyline for Mahesh Babu and he needs just a month to fine-tune it into the fullfledged script.

Mahesh Babu will be using this period of three months to take a call whether he should go with director Vamshi Paidipally or Anil Ravipudi for his next movie.

Soon after delivering the blockbuster ‘Maharshi’, Vamshi Paidiapally got the nod from Mahesh for another collaboration.

However, Vamshi has failed to prepare a solid script in the last six months. And he is still writing. Hence Anil Ravipudi might get another chance.

Each Lust Story Gets Rs. 1.5 Crore Budget in Telugu

Super successful Netflix original film is being remade in Telugu. Four directors from Telugu film industry will be wielding the mega phone for each episode of Lust Stories.

Nandini Reddy is one of the directors that is signed up for it.

Eesha Rebba will play the lead in one of the Lust Stories. Netflix allotted Rs. 1.5 Crore budget for each Lust Story.

It means Lust Stories will be remade in Telugu with Rs. 6 Crore budget. This covers the remuneration of actors, technicians, making costs and post production expenses.

Lust Stories will be remade in other regional languages depending upon its success in Telugu.

Actress says industry categorised her as dark skinned

Mumbai: Actress Malaika Arora says she faced bias in the industry when she entered showbiz because of her dark skin tone.

“I came at a time in the business when this whole thing about dark-skinned, fair-skinned was so prevalent and I was always put into the dark-skinned category so that was always there initially so ya that bias was always there,” Malaika said.

Malaika, known for her dancing numbers like “Chaiyya chaiyya”, “Gud naal ishq mitha”, “Maahi ve”, “Kaal dhamaal” and “Munni badnaam hui”, expressed her views in an episode of Neha Dhupia’s “#NoFilterNeha Season 4”.

The mother-of-one, who is often in news for her relationship status with actor Arjun Kapoor, also said that she doesn’t care about trolls.

“Personally, I care a damn. I really I mean if I have to say as crudely, I care a f**k. The only thing that comes to mind is that I just feel bad for people out there who talk or behave a certain way. I mean like you gotta be really messed up in your head or you gotta be really low self-esteem or its gotta be some sort of you know for you to actually sit and belittle somebody or degrade somebody or be nasty,” she said.

Naidu Gets Yet Another Issue To Target Jagan!

Telugu Desam Party president and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has always been on the look out for one issue or the other to target YSR Congress party and chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.

On Tuesday, Naidu found yet another issue to attack Jagan and his government. It was a government order (GO Ms No. 78) of the School Education Department, which was issued last evening by the government to continue payment of awards to meritorious students in Class X.

The only difference is that the name of the award has been changed from “APJ Abdul Kalam Pratibha Puraskaram” to “YSR Vidya Puraskaram.”

That has now become an issue for the TDP and Naidu to criticise the Jagan government. Since morning, the TDP social media groups have been spreading the news with hashtag #YSRCPInsultsAbdulKalam across the state, questioning the decision to rename the scheme after YSR by removing Kalam’s name.

Naidu tweeted: “Dr Kalam has accomplished much for the nation with his inspiring life. @ysjagan’s govt changing “APJ Abdul Kalam Pratibha Puraskar” to “YSR Vidya Puraskar” is a shocking method of self-aggrandizement at the cost of disrespecting a much-venerated man. #YSRCPInsultsAbdulKalam.”

Well, it has been a policy decision of the chief minister to name every scheme concerning the people in the name of his father and former chief minister Y S Rajasekhar Reddy, as he has already promised to bring back Rajanna Rajyam in the state.

He wished that the people should remember his father while enjoying the benefits of every scheme.

“That does not mean insulting former President of India and missile man A P J Abdul Kalam. We have full respect towards Kalam, but as a part of the policy of naming the welfare schemes of YSR who introduced several schemes for students, the government named the award after the former chief minister,” a YSRC leader said.
