Opinion: #BiggBoss3 Suffering From Lack Of Craze

Share

One of the most hyped programs on Telugu television right now is none other than Bigg Boss reality show that has housemates kept in a well-designed luxury house for 100 days and the winner gets to pick a trophy along with 50 lakhs cash prize. And this year, we have some crazy participants like Varun Sandesh, Sreemukhi, Rahul Sipligunj and others competing for the same.

Unlike last year where Kaushal has created a storm with his antics and almost split the house into a one-man versus all kinds of scenario, this year there is no such thing. As the very first season of Bigg Boss, the contestants are not able to pull up any hype, neither they are able to attract audiences with their sincerity and dedication. Almost everyone exposed their game plan and that shocked the audiences too.

Though Bigg Boss is trying to create interest in the program with their ‘editing’ skills, somehow the reality show is not living up to the expectations. We hear that the TRPs are not so great though they are better than many programs. This is due to lack of strong contestants inside the team and everyone becoming friends with all without proving anything to the audiences.

Other than those promos that are presented like as if some storm is coming, there lacks spice and sizzle this time for sure.

Jagan Appoints 1.26 Lakh Employees in One Recruitment Drive, Highest in India’s History

Share

Vijayawada: YS Jagan Mohan Reddy-led Andhra Pradesh government on Monday gave appointment letters to over 1.26 lakh employees, claimed to be the first of its kind in the country in terms of numbers in a single recruitment drive, under a new governance initiative of Village and Ward Secretariats.

Addressing the candidates who had passed the exams, the Chief Minister said that the main purpose of the new set-up was to ‘bring transparency into the otherwise decaying system of governance which the previous government has followed.’

While congratulating the successful candidates, Jagan said never before were these many permanent government jobs created in one go anywhere in the country and employees recruited in a record time of just two months.

While over 21 lakh candidates applied for various posts in these secretariats that would deliver about 500 public services, a total of 19.50 lakh appeared for the written examinations from September 1 to 8.

Of the 1,98,164 candidates qualified in these examinations, 1,26,728 have been given jobs, including 31,640 in urban areas.

The Chief Minister initiated the process of handing over appointment letters to the qualified candidates at a function held at private function hall in Vijayawada.

“You should not treat this as a government job, but this is a movement to bring in change and transparency into the system of governance which the previous government has fully ignored,” he said adding that the new employees should show commitment, bring in best practices thus drive corruption away.

The candidates who were handed over the pass certificates thanked the Chief Minister profusely and expressed their happiness and said the appointment has given lots of strength.

“My husband is an auto driver,’ said Revathi, who was selected as Ward Health Secretary. ‘I used to work in a private hospital earning somewhere between Rs 5,000 and Rs 6,000. The announcement of Village Secretariat exams came at a time when I was thinking that there was no scope for getting a government job until the notification came. I thank the government officials who have worked hard for this job recruitment process. I have taken responsibility to resolve any reported issue within 72 hours after,” she said.

“My father is a daily wage earner, mother is a kidney patient, and I am from BPL family. I have no recommendations. I have studied on my own. Thanks to Jagan Anna for the job recruitments done in such a large scale,’ said S Mutyalu, Fisheries Assistant at Gampalagudem Mandal.

The YSR Congress government will launch its ambitious village secretariat system in Andhra Pradesh on October. Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will inaugurate a secretariat at Karapa village in East Godavari district.

Jagan further said a social audit would be conducted periodically to ensure transparency and accountability and bring in credibility to the system.

The Chief Minister also announced that recruitment examinations would be conducted every year from January 1 to 31 to fill up vacant government posts in different departments.

What is TRS contribution to Huzurnagar?

Share

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president and Nalgonda MP N Uttam Kumar Reddy on Monday challenged Telangana Rashtra Samithi leaders to show that the government had taken up even a single development work in Huzurnagar since 2014.

Interacting with people of Huzurnagar through social media platforms, Uttam said entire development in Huzurnagar Assembly constituency was brought only during Congress regime.

He said that the Congress party would withdraw from contest if TRS showed its contribution in development of Huzurnagar.

He said after getting elected as MLA for the first time from Huzurnagar in 2009, he resolved the problem of low voltage and improved the conditions of roads.

Uttam said that the construction of nearly 4,000 houses for weaker sections in Huzurnagar Town and Mandal was initiated at a cost of Rs 200 crore.

He said nearly 80% of the houses were completed during Congress rule. However, the TRS Government could not complete remaining 20% works in the last six years.

The TPCC chief said it was due to the revenge politics that the TRS Government did not take up a single development programme in Huzurnagar. He said he was ready for an open debate on the issue of development of Huzurnagar.

The Nalgonda MP said the TRS leaders were afraid of defeat in Huzurnagar as was evident from their request with the CPI to support the TRS candidate.

He said that the CPI must support the Congress to protect the interest the people of Telangana.

He also appealed to TDP and CPI (M) to withdraw from contest in favour of Congress party.

Heavy Rains Vs Sye Raa Bookings: Chiru’s Star Power

Share

One one side we’re witnessing heavy rains in top tier cities like Hyderabad as the dark clouds are looming the city from afternoon onwards and the incessant rain flooding roads at crucial junctions. What will be the fate of magnum opus Sye Raa in this climate?

Already bookings of Sye Raa got opened on all ticket booking sites and almost every theatre got sold out for the first three days. Without worrying about the flooding, travel time and lack of proper transport facilities in case of a power outage or anything, cinema lovers are booking tickets of Sye Raa. That shows the craze for cinema in Telugu states.

Back in time, we have Chiranjeevi’s Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari released during a cyclonic storm and that film went on to become biggest grosser of that times. Looks like Mega fans are calculating a similar sentiment around Sye Raa also as strong showers are lashing through Telugu states as we speak of it.

Bankrolled by Ram Charan and directed by Surender Reddy, Sye Raa is hitting cinemas on October 2nd, on the eve of Gandhi Jayanthi.

Rana Lost More Weight; Fans In Utter Shock

The huge muscled guy Rana Daggubati, who became very popular global wide for his role Bhallaladeva, posted a new picture on his Instagram which made fans shock. Ever since his debut film Leader, Telugites have been inspired with his well-defined physique and gymmed body. However, his new pic looks a bit scary and unhealthy, leading us to speculate what may be going wrong.

Earlier, his rumours on ill-health have been rubbished by Rana, saying that there is no truth in it. His Kidney transplant rumours has also made the actor fed up and said that he is in the US for his upcoming film’s pre-production work, titled Hiranyakashipu and not for any surgery. Immediately, the post saw a lot of comments from his concerned fans who asked him whether he’s alright or not. Though Rana is healthy, fortunately, it is still disheartening to see him like this, unlike Bhallaladeva’s chiselled body. The picture has now made many of the commenters took the time to express concern for the actor’s noticeably thin frame.

Another wicket down in Telangana TDP

Share

Telugu Desam Party in Telangana, which has almost been defunct with the defection of several senior party leaders and cadre into various parties, mainly the Telangana Rashtra Samithi and Bharatiya Janata Party, witnessed yet another defection on Monday.

Telangana Telugu Yuvatha president T Virender Goud, son of senior TDP leader and former Rajya Sabha member T Devender Goud, announced his resignation from the post and the primary membership of the party.

He said he was pained at the TDP losing its principles and core philosophy in the recent past, for which the party was known since its foundation by N T Rama Rao in 1982.

He, however, expressed his gratitude for the party for giving him an opportunity to grow as a political leader.

The defection of Virender Goud had been on cards for quite some time. In fact, he and his father Devender Goud had held talks with the BJP leadership sometime back and were only waiting for the right to take a decision.

Surprisingly, the announcement of quitting the TDP came only from Virender at present. May be Devender Goud has changed his mind as he has not been keeping well for quite some and he might not get anything in the BJP even after defection.

Virender unsuccessfully contested from Uppal assembly constituency in the last assembly elections in Telangana held in December. Since then, a large number of defections took place from the party into the TRS and BJP.

And Virender is most likely to choose the BJP for sustaining his political career.

No Rythu Bharosa for rich farmers in AP!

Share

The Rythu Bandhu scheme launched in Telangana in May 2018 was a big success and had fetched tremendous political mileage to Telangana Rashtra Samithi in December 2018 assembly elections.

Despite its hiccups midway, the scheme is being implemented for the third consecutive season in the state, though there are reports that Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is contemplating making certain changes in the scheme by next Khariff.

In Andhra Pradesh, the scheme was partially implemented during the fag-end tenure of Telugu Desam Party president and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu in the name of “Annadata Sukhibhava,” but it did not yield any positive result for the TDP in the last elections.

Now, the YSR Congress party government led by chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has announced implementation of the same scheme with a different name – YSR Rythu Bharosa, under which each farmer will get Rs 12,500 per year, with effect from October 15.

However, on Monday, the government has come out with a set of guidelines to implement the scheme, restricting it to only poor farmers and exempting the rich and mighty farmers from the scheme, unlike in Telangana, where all farmers, irrespective of their land holding.

According to the latest guidelines, the following are ineligible to get benefit under Rythu Bharosa:

*Non-agricultural lands belonging to different organisations

*More than one farmers belonging to the same family

*Present and past members of constitutional bodies

*Present and past ministers/parliament members/assembly and council members/municipal corporation mayors, presidents and zilla parishad chairpersons

*Working and retired officials of various state government departments, present and retired employees of various state and central government departments and concerned organisations, their affiliated organisations at the field level, state and central public sector undertakings and their associated organisations, government-aided autonomous organisations and local bodies (except fourth-class employees and Group-D employees).

*Those from above categories getting pension of Rs 10,000 and more

*Those who paid income tax the previous year

*Doctors, engineers, lawyers, charted accountants and architechts who have registered their names for practice

*Those who got their lands converted from agriculture to residential purposes and other non-agricultural purposes

*And those who had paid commercial tax/professional tax and GST last year.

However, though these categories are not able to get the benefit under Rythu Bharosa, those who have been cultivating the lands on lease will be eligible to get the benefit under Rythu Bharosa, an official statement said.

Reverse tendering in education, too!

Share

The YSR Congress government headed by Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has been going in for reverse tendering in every irrigation project to unearth corruption indulged in by the previous Telugu Desam Party government.

Now, it is considering introducing reverse tendering system even in various schemes and contracts given in the education department as well. This was declared by minister for education Adimulapu Suresh.

Participating in a function to give away appointment letter to the newly-elected village and ward secretaries at Markapuram in Prakasam district, Suresh alleged that huge corruption had taken place in the education department also during the Chandrababu Naidu regime.

“There was a huge misappropriation of funds in the name of various schemes and projects. Our government will undertake reverse tendering in all such schemes and bring in a transparent rule to end the misuse of funds,” the minister said.

He said that revolutionary transformations are required in the education department to bring accountability in the department.

He said that they would fill the vacancies at various levels in the education department soon.
