Varun Tej Wraps Korean Kanakaraju Shoot Soon

Mega Prince Varun Tej is currently busy with an interesting horror-comedy titled Korean Kanakaraju, directed by Merlapaka Gandhi. The film is being produced by leading banners UV Creations and First Frame Entertainment and is now nearing the completion of its shoot.
Blending spooky elements with comedy, the film comes with a unique concept that connects India and South Korea. Varun Tej is said to be appearing in a completely new avatar, something very different from the roles he has attempted so far. His quirky look and energetic antics shown in the title glimpse released on his birthday received an excellent response from fans and movie lovers.
Meanwhile, the team has flown to South Korea for the film’s final shooting schedule. This one-week schedule will cover the filming of a couple of songs and several important scenes featuring Varun Tej, actress Ritika Nayak, and popular comedian Satya across vibrant Korean locations.
With this schedule, the shooting of the film will be wrapped up completely. After that, the makers will shift their focus to post-production and begin an aggressive promotional campaign.
The film’s music is composed by S. Thaman, while cinematography is handled by Manoj Reddy Katasani. The makers are expected to announce the official release date of Korean Kanakaraju soon.
Nani’s The Paradise Builds Massive Slum Set for ‘Aaya Sher’ Song

Shooting in a real slum location may sometimes be inexpensive, as filmmakers can obtain permission by paying a nominal fee to the government. However, when a production team decides to recreate an entire slum environment as a specially designed set, the costs increase significantly because it allows complete control over lighting, assets, camera movement, and overall visual design.
For the song “Aaya Sher” from Nani’s upcoming film The Paradise, the makers appear to have taken on a massive production effort. Director Srikanth Odela and the team constructed a huge slum-style set on nearly 2.5 acres of land. The set includes numerous houses, narrow alleys, arches, walls, and drainage systems designed to replicate the look and feel of a densely populated settlement. Along with the hero’s house—designed in a distinctive arch-style structure resembling a traditional kaman—the team also created an entire village-like environment. This elaborate setup features several residential structures, a large water body, a giant bowl-shaped structure resembling a biryani vessel, and even a dump yard nearby to add realism to the setting.
The construction of these extensive sets involved many workers and skilled artisans, and it reportedly took around 20 to 30 days to complete. To enhance authenticity, the designers applied natural aging effects, vintage textures, and weathered colors to the structures so that the environment would appear lived-in and realistic on screen.
The grand slum-style set was designed by production designer Avinash Kolla, and it has become a major talking point after the release of the “Aaya Sher” song. The track has already crossed 100 million views on YouTube, with audiences praising its raw visual appeal, energetic tone, Anirudh Ravichander’s powerful music, and Nani’s commanding screen presence.
The Paradise, produced by Sudhakar Cherukuri, was initially scheduled for release on March 27, but due to delays in the film’s shooting schedule, the release has now been postponed to August 27.

DSP–Thaman Buzz Around UBS

Powerstar Pawan Kalyan’s much-awaited film Ustaad Bhagat Singh is set to hit theatres on March 19, and the movie is gearing up for a direct clash with Dhurandhar 2 at the box office. With the release date approaching fast, building strong promotional buzz has become crucial for the film.
As is usually the case, Pawan Kalyan is not expected to take an active role in promotions. This means the responsibility of promoting the film largely falls on director Harish Shankar and the music team. However, the film has recently seen a significant change in its music department.
Initially, Devi Sri Prasad (DSP) was composing the music for the film, but he was reportedly replaced at the last minute for the background score, with S S Thaman stepping in to handle it. This development has sparked speculation in industry circles that DSP might have been unhappy with the change, leading to his absence from promotional activities.
It remains unclear whether DSP will attend the film’s pre-release event. At the same time, Thaman’s involvement in promotions may also be limited since he joined the project only at the last stage. As a result, the major share of the promotional responsibility appears to be resting on Harish Shankar’s shoulders.
If DSP decides to attend the pre-release event, it could create an interesting moment as fans might get to see DSP and Thaman together on the same stage, something that rarely happens. On the other hand, if he stays away, his absence could become a major talking point.
Meanwhile, the film’s official trailer is scheduled to be released tomorrow evening, and it is expected to play a crucial role in shaping the buzz around the movie. If the trailer clicks with audiences, it could instantly boost the film’s hype ahead of its release. For now, all eyes are on Harish Shankar and the trailer launch.
Is Putin Helping Iran Against the US?

As tensions surrounding the Iran conflict intensify, analysts are questioning whether Russian President Vladimir Putin sees the situation as an opportunity to retaliate against the United States for its support of Ukraine during the ongoing Russia–Ukraine war. Some experts believe Moscow could quietly assist Iran, partly in return for Tehran’s earlier support to Russia.
Geostrategist Brahma Chellaney noted that Iran played a significant role in aiding Russia during the early phase of the Ukraine war by supplying more than 50,000 Shahed drones, which became a key component of Russia’s military operations. According to Chellaney, it is highly unlikely that Russia is not providing some form of assistance to Iran as it confronts what he described as the Trump–Netanyahu war of aggression.
Chellaney argued that Moscow may seek to “prolong the hurt” by forcing the United States to divert military resources and munitions toward West Asia, resources that might otherwise have been directed toward supporting Ukraine in its war against Russia. He also pointed out that the United States has effectively waged a high-stakes proxy conflict against Russia by supporting Ukraine with advanced weapons systems, real-time battlefield intelligence, and targeting data. In such a scenario, Russia might now feel tempted to return the favor indirectly.
However, experts believe that any Russian support to Iran would likely remain discreet rather than overt. Assistance could include sharing reconnaissance data, signals intelligence, and battlefield insights gained from the Ukraine conflict. Chellaney also suggested the possibility of “reverse mentorship,” where Russia could help Iran adopt tactics learned during the Ukraine war. These include coordinating large-scale drone swarms with ballistic missile strikes to overwhelm Western-supplied air defense systems such as Patriot and IRIS-T. Russia has become increasingly adept at such strategies, while Iran is still developing similar capabilities.
Meanwhile, the United States has issued a 30-day waiver allowing countries to purchase sanctioned Russian oil and petroleum products currently at sea. US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said the move is intended to stabilize global energy markets, which have been shaken by the Iran conflict and disruptions to shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.
Responding to the decision, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said Russia views the waiver as an attempt by Washington to steady global energy markets. He noted that, in this context, the interests of both countries appear to align. “We see actions by the United States aimed at stabilizing energy markets. In this respect, our interests coincide,” Peskov said.
The waiver marks the second major rollback of Ukraine war-related sanctions in just over a week, following US and Israeli strikes on Iran that affected shipping through the Strait of Hormuz. Peskov also warned about the potential escalation of a global energy crisis and emphasized the importance of Russian oil supplies in maintaining stability in international energy markets.

Anantha Sriram Reignites Kalki 2898 AD Debate
A fresh discussion has resurfaced around Kalki 2898 AD, the blockbuster film directed by Nag Ashwin and starring Prabhas, after noted Telugu lyricist Anantha Sriram reiterated his earlier criticism regarding the movie’s portrayal of mythological characters. The film, which became one of the biggest box office successes after Baahubali 2, impressed audiences with its grand visuals and futuristic narrative inspired by the Mahabharata. However, some creative choices in the film had sparked debate even during its release.
Anantha Sriram had earlier objected to certain elements in the film, particularly the way the character of Karna was presented. In a recent interview, the lyricist once again defended his remarks and stated that he continues to stand by his earlier criticism. According to him, the film appeared to elevate Karna’s character while comparatively diminishing the stature of Arjuna, which he believes does not align with the traditional narrative of the epic.
He emphasized that epics like the Ramayana and Mahabharata are not merely stories but an important part of India’s cultural and historical heritage. In his view, filmmakers should exercise caution while adapting such revered texts and avoid altering their core narratives purely for cinematic appeal or commercial entertainment. He also expressed concern that portraying controversial or complex characters as heroic figures for dramatic impact could lead to misinterpretations of the original stories.
Sriram further noted that in earlier times there were limited platforms for people to question such portrayals, but today social media and public discourse have made it easier for audiences to voice their opinions. He stated that he would continue to speak out whenever mythological stories are, in his opinion, misrepresented in films.
His comments have once again triggered mixed reactions on social media. While some people support his stand and believe filmmakers should remain faithful to the original epics, others argue that cinema should allow creative freedom and reinterpretations of traditional narratives. As a result, Kalki 2898 AD has once again become a topic of debate among film enthusiasts and audiences online.
