Pooja next in Thaman’s list after Raashi Khanna!

Music director Thaman has a special habit of making his heroes sing in his movies. Starting from NTR to Ravi Teja, he made most of his heroes to croon and they became chartbusters. Interestingly, he even pushes heroines to sing. Recently, Raashi Khanna sang ‘You Are My High’ in ‘Prathi Roju Pandage’.

As we know, he gave a blockbuster album with ‘Ala Vaikunthapuramlo’ and during the success celebrations in Vizag, he urged the film’s heroine Pooja Hegde to sing on stage for which she hesitantly agreed. She sang the super hit ‘Samajavaragamana’ on stage and did a decently good job despite not knowing the lyrics. Her singing video is becoming viral on social media.

It is one of the highlights of the entire event and let us see if Thaman decides to bring her into the studio and make her sing from the next time.

In December 2019, filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt announced his debut in the digital space with a yet-untitled “dramatic web-series” based on the relationship of a struggling filmmaker and a top actress of the seventies.

Speculations went rife that Bhatt was aiming to make a series based on his rumoured romance with Babi.

The buzz now is that the show has found its leading lady.

According to rumours, modalities are being worked out with Amala in order to take the show on floors.

Rumour has it that her character draws references from the late Parveen Babi’s life, who has earlier inspired the Bollywood film “Woh Lamhe” in 2006. That film, also produced by the Bhatts, starred Kangana Ranaut and Shiney Ahuja.

Puri ropes in another Bollywood beauty for ‘Fighter’!

Share

Dashing director Puri Jagannadh’s much-awaited film with Vijay Devarakonda has finally started and the film went on floors officially in Mumbai. The film’s co-producer Charmee Kaur uploaded the ‘Muhurat’ pics on social media and they are trending now.

On the other hand, the makers wanted to bring Sridevi’s daughter Janhvi Kapoor as the heroine in this film but she backed out in the last minute. This film is going to be released in Hindi too and that is why makers reportedly brought in another Bollywood beauty into it. Sources say that budding heroine Ananya Pandey who made her debut last year with ‘Student Of The Year 2’ is going to play the romantic interest of Vijay in this film.

Ananya scored a hit last year with ‘Pati Patni Aur Woh’ and is doing a couple of interesting projects. Her inclusion will be an added advantage to Vijay’s Bollywood launch. So, let us wait and see if this news turns out to be true or not.

Is Devarakonda interested in arranged marriage?

Share

Young hero Vijay Devarakonda is currently the heartthrob of youth and he has a great female following thanks to his killer looks both onscreen and offscreen. It is quite natural for popular brands and corporate companies to try and use his craze by roping him as their brand ambassador.

He recently turned into an ambassador for a matrimony site and shot an advertisement for it. The ad gives a message that films are different from real life and parents need to take care of children’s wedding. It is interesting to see Vijay doing such kind of advertisement as he is linked with a foreign girl from a long time. Also, his image of a whacky and rebellious youth is completely in contrast with what he said in the advertisement.

The one question that pops in everyone’s minds is if Vijay really interested in an arranged marriage or not?

Trivikram fulfilled my wish to score a industry hit with my father: Allu Arjun

Share

Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, starring stylish star Allu Arjun in the lead role is breaking numerous records at the box office. The film has Pooja Hegde in the lady lead role and was produced by Allu Aravind and S Radhakrishna. The Trivikram directional grossed over Rs 180 crores in its opening week and registered an all-time Non-Bahubali2 record. On the joyous occasion, the makers held a grand success celebration in Vizag.

Stylish star Allu Arjun said, “My first film was shot here(Vizag) and I have done 20 films this far. My journey and my success is always linked with people of Vizag. I am really happy that I am here again today. Our film’s Vizag collections report shows the love you shower upon me. I would like to thank the Telugu audience first. At a time when digital media is taking over, you proved that a good film will always have a fruitful run at the box office. When Thaman asked us what sort of album we wanted, I said we wanted an album that would garner 1 billion views. He lived up to his word. ‘Samajavaragamana’ turned out to be the song of the year. ‘Ramuloo Ramulaa’ became the chart-buster of the year. ‘O my God daddy’, ‘Butta Bomma’ , ‘Ala Vaikunthapurramloo’ , and ‘Sittarala Sirapadu’ made this the album of the year.”

About his father, Allu Aravind, Bunny said, “My father introduced me with Gangothri. Later, we worked on ‘Bunny’, ‘Happy’, ‘Badrinath’, ‘Sarrainodu’, ‘Race Gurram’ and now, ‘Ala Vaikunthapurramloo’. I thank him for the same. Only a director can make a film click and that is exactly what Trivikram did. If a cinema is a painting, the hero will be the canvas and producer will be the frame. The technicians will serve as paint brushes and the artists will be the colors. But the artist who visualizes the entire painting and brings life to it is the director. I received many phone calls, saying my performance in the film has been excellent. My father gave industry hits for Chiranjeevi Garu and Rajinikanth Garu. He scored an industry with Ram Charan (Magadheera) as well. In Hindi, his productional, ‘Ghajini’, with Amir Khan was an industry hit. I always wished to score an industry hit with my father and Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo is fulfilling it, thanks to Trivikram. This is my sweetest memory.

Allu Arjun thanked his fans and added, “I would like to thank my fans. They held a rally with 500 bikes while I was visiting Vizag. I am repeating my previous statement ‘Everyone has fans, but I have an army’. I got a good start to 2020 with Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo and I hope to capitalize on it. I thanks the mega fans for supporting me all the while. Records are very temporary. Another film might break those records in another six months. The main aim is to keep the audience entertained. Records are temporary, feelings at permanent.”

Other highlights of the show include dance troops setting the stage on fire with energetic dance moves for Bunny’s songs. Pooja Hegde crooned the first bit of Samajavaragamana song. Sooranna, who crooned ‘Sittarala Sirapadu’ hugged Allu Arjun on stage. Sivamani performed live for ‘Oh My God Daddy’ song. Pooja started her speech with “Vizag sir… Vizag anthe”. Bunny’s reaction to it caught the attention. Bunny recreated ‘Ramuloo Ramulaa’ dance move along with Pooja Hegde on stage.”

Trivikram to become the new Sankranti director?

Share

Star writer-director Trivikram Srinivas waved his magic wand once again with ‘Ala Vaikunthapuramloo’. The Allu Arjun and Pooja Hegde starrer is raking up the moolah at the box-office and Trivikram’s pen power was in full flow for this film and it is on the verge of turning into a profitable venture.

Two years back, Trivikram entered the Sankranti race with ‘Agnyathavaasi’ and got a disastrous result. Now, he came up with a Sankranti winner in the form of ‘Ala Vaikunthapuramloo’. He is again planning to be in the Sankranti race with NTR’s film next year. Looks like Trivikram is turning out to be a Sankranti specialist.

It Is Police All The Way To Assembly

Share

As the special session of Assembly is set to meet in a few hours from now on Monday, the State is witnessing a hoard of cane-wielding police teams.

While the opposition parties have given a call to lay siege to the Assembly, the police have already laid siege to the entire area.

The 29 villages of the capital are under the strict watch of the police to avoid any untoward incident as the opposition TDP is firm on making it an issue.

Though the TDP leaders were kept under house arrest at various places, the TDP had planned in such a way that the TDP teams have already designed plans to enter the capital villages in some form or the other.

The TDP had sent the scheme to make the event a successful and the party activists have taken position in the 29 villages.

Most of them have already reached the villages, while some are planning to come in groups holding the national flag.

The TDP chief had instructed the rank and file and the party sympathisers to keep women in the front with the national flag to avoid police being tough with them.

The TDP government has a set of rules to be followed in the 29 villages and also to curb agitations like the laying siege to the Assembly. Never in the past four years, the police have not allowed any such programme.

Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham had called for challo Assembly in the past and the police have followed strict prohibitory orders.

Mudragada was kept under house arrest in his Kirlampud village for months together. No Kapu youth was allowed to enter the capital villages.

The MRPS leader Manda Krishna Madiga too had given a similar call but the police followed the set of rules and silenced the activists.

Some of the activists in the 29 capital villages too were arrested, while some were also kept under house arrest. The activists were caned in Vijayawada and Guntur cities.

The Nayee Brahmins too had planned for a similar agitation and so was the case of the Left parties several times in the last five years.

Those protests were not allowed with Chandrababu Naidu as chief minister giving strict instructions to the police to silence the protests.

Kalyan Ram’s Film Sandwiched Between Biggies

Share

Nandamuri Kalyan Ram’s plan to score a hit as Sharwanand did with “Shatamanam Bhavati” has failed miserably.

Sharwanand’s film competed with two biggies Chiranjeevi’s “Khaidi No 150” and Balakrishna’s “Gautamaputra Satakarni” and still, it went on to become a huge money-spinner.

Kalyan Ram repeated the same trick this year by placing his movie “Entha Manchivaadavuraa” during the Sankranthi period when “Ala Vaikunthapurramloo” and “Sarileru Neekevvaru” creating havoc at the ticket window.

But Kalyan Ram’s film got sandwiched between these movies, with audiences hardly showing interest to check out his movie at the screens.

The film at the US box-office had collected mere 17k dollars. The scene at the domestic front is similar.

The is a total misfire at the box-office. Kalyan Ram’s attempt at winning the family audiences with a soft-movie didn’t work out.

Naandi 1st Look: Allari Naresh’s Stunning Nude Act

Share

This is incredible. Allari Naresh who changed his gears with Maharshi stuns with his nude act in his solo hero film titled Naandi.

In the first look poster of Naandi, Allari Naresh in completely naked avatar is seen hanged upside down in prison.

Apparently, beaten so badly by cops, there are scars all over his body. For authenticity, Allari Naresh lost weight and he also grown beard to play the prisoner in the film.

This is pure dedication from an actor who with this poster proves that he can play any given role.

Allari Naresh who once was stereotyped for comedy hero roles is now game for challenging roles. Apparently, he’s contented with the script, so is giving everything for the role and the film.

Naandi directed by debutante Vijay Kanakamedala and bankrolled by Satish Vegesna has been launched today.

Roundup: Countdown for capital shift!

Share

The countdown for the shifting of executive capital city of Andhra Pradesh from Amaravati to Visakhapatnam has begun, as the state assembly is meeting for a special session on Monday to pass the historic bills to “decentralise” the administration and do away with the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority that was formed in December 2014 to develop the capital city of Amaravati.

The farmers of Amaravati, who have been agitating for the last 32 days to see that the capital is not shifted to Visakhapatnam, are aware that they are only fighting a losing battle, as the Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy government is hell bent on going ahead with its three capitals plan. Since the ruling party has the brute majority in the House, nobody can stop it from implementing its plan.

Yet, the Telugu Desam Party led by former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu which is spearheading the agitation, is going all out to gain the maximum political mileage out of the situation.

Ironically, his own party leaders including legislators from north-coastal Andhra have not been endorsing his fight.

On the other hand, the YSR Congress party has successfully established that Naidu had resorted to largescale insider trading in deciding Amaravati as the capital city and that he is only trying to safeguard the interests of his own community people.

At the same time, it also used all its resources to establish that Amaravati is not fit for being the capital city.

The campaign for and against the capital shift in the mainstream media, too, has reached its climax.

All the three major dailies – Eenadu, Andhra Jyothy and Sakshi have carried banner stories on the fate of Amaravati that would be decided in the state assembly on Monday.

The unprecedented security arrangements and restrictions imposed by the police, warnings and threats by the government as well as assembly speaker Tammineni Sitaram and preventive arrests of the TDP as well as Amaravati Joint Action Committee leaders have also figured prominently on the front pages of the dailies.

While Eenadu has highlighted Naidu’s call to the party MLAs to fight the bills to be introduced by the government on the three capitals plan, Andhra Jyothy carried Jagan’s call to his party MLAs to speak in one voice over the capital issue in the assembly.

And Sakshi carried the report on the absence of several MLAs at the TD legislature party meeting.

In an apparent last-ditch attempt to brainwash the people of the state over the importance of Amaravati as the capital city, Eenadu carried a huge report on how the foundations in Amaravati region are very strong compared to many other places in the country and also abroad. Apparently, it wants to prove the government’s argument that Amaravati is unfit for the capital is wrong.

Andhra Jyothy carried a full-length front page “open letter” in the name of Amaravati, expressing anguish over the attempts by the Jagan government to destroy its glory and thousands of years of its legacy. Obviously, it is an attempt to play up the sentiments of Amaravati farmers.

The daily also made yet another attempt to project Visakhapatnam as unsafe zone for the capital due to high incidence of Maoist activities. It says the intelligence department has warned the government of an impending threat to politicians from Maoist leaders.

On the other hand, Sakshi carried a second lead story, as part of its series, to prove how several TDP leaders had made big money by purchasing lands in and around Amaravati through insider trading, as detected during the CID investigation.

With the commencement of the assembly session, it could as well be curtains on the fate of Amaravati in the next three or four days!

Amaravati under siege: Leaders under house arrest

Share

As the YSR Congress party government in Andhra Pradesh is getting ready for introducing the bills in the state assembly on Monday to create three capitals for state with administrative capital at Visakhapatnam, the entire Amaravati region has come under the siege by the police.

Notwithstanding the orders of the state high court, the police has made elaborate security arrangements for the assembly session, besides imposing heavy restrictions on the movement of the people in the villages of Amaravati, in the wake of the “Chalo Assembly” call given by the Amaravati Joint Action Committee and other opposition parties.

As many as 800 Telugu Desam Party leaders, besides several JAC leaders, across the state were taken into preventive custody. All the senior leaders were confined to house arrests.

A large number of police personnel headed by at least seven SPs were deployed in the capital city region on Monday. As many as 2500 police were posted in sensitive areas where there are chances of farmers coming out on the streets.

Around 70 police were deployed at Prakasam Barrage bridge in the wake of the Chalo Assembly. The bridge was closed as part of security.

The police almost cordoned the Amaravati region and letting everyone only after thoroughly checking their identity.

Drones are being used to keep a watch on the movements of the people so that the police could take immediate action to prevent them from taking up agitations.

The people of 29 villages lodged their protests by hoisting black flags atop of their houses and displayed save Amaravati slogans.

The villagers lamented that a war-like situation was created in the region.
