Sarileru Neekevvaru Joins $1 Million Club
Superstar Mahesh Babu’s “Sarileru Neekevvaru” has joined the $1 million club at the USA box-office proving the star’s popularity and craze here.
The mass entertainer grossed 763k dollars from premiere shows. On Saturday early morning, it has added another $263,551 taking its cumulative gross past the $1 million mark.
By the end of Saturday, it will easily add another 200k to 300k dollars.
This is the ninth consecutive $1 million movie in Mahesh Babu’s career in the USA market. No wonder then that Mahesh Babu is regarded as the king of the overseas market.
“Sarileru Neekevvaru” is directed by Anil Ravipudi. The film also starred Rashmika as the heroine and Vijayashanthi in a key role.
Iran Admits It Shot Down Ukrainian Plane Unintentionally

Wanted: A non-Telugu officer as CBI JD!
YSR Congress party general secretary and parliamentary party leader V Vijay Sai Reddy has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union home minister Amit Shah and higher authorities of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to appoint a non-Telugu officer as the joint director of CBI in Hyderabad.
Shah has referred the letter to Department of Personnel and Training for necessary action, as the home ministry is not competent to take the decisions on the postings of CBI officers.
Sai Reddy’s letter comes in the wake of the stubborn stand taken by the CBI officers in Hyderabad in dealing with the quid pro quo case involving YSRC president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.
While opposing the exemption sought by Jagan for personal appearances in the court, the CBI authorities made very strong comments against him and also Sai Reddy.
Sai Reddy argued that the appointment of CBI joint director at Hyderabad had been made under political influence and with ulterior political motives.
He alleged that the Telugu officers of the CBI had been functioning under the influence of Telugu Desam Party president and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who had been using them to witch-hunt his political rivals.
He pointed out that former CBI joint director V V Lakshminaryana had close relationship with Chandrababu Naidu.
“Naidu used to pass instructions to Lakshminarayana through Andhra Jyothy managing director V Radhakrishna to create troubles for Jagan. Many times, the former CBI JD had spoken to Naidu on landline,” Sai Reddy alleged.
The YSRC MP further said Lakshminarayana had created troubles for Jagan as per the instructions of Chandrababu Naidu and in the past, there had been internal inquiry against Lakshminarayana for his misconduct and politicking.
“After his retirement, Lakshminarayana tried to contest the elections on TDP ticket, but later chose Jana Sena Party headed by Pawan Kalyan, who is a strategic partner of TDP,” he said.
He went on to allege that present CBI Joint Director in Hyderabad A Y V Krishna was also a Telugu with political connections and was under the influence of Lakshminarayana.
“Now, another officer H Venkatesh is trying to succeed Krishna as joint director. Though Venkatesh claims to be from Karnataka, his parents are from Andhra Pradesh and all his roots are in Andhra Pradesh. He, too, has financial dealings with Lakshminarayana, as both of them were colleagues in the past,” Sai Reddy said.
He further alleged that Chandrababu Naidu was trying to get his people posted in the CBI and through them, harass Jagan Mohan Reddy, apart from ensuring that they would not probe into his illegal dealings and corruption.
“So, the Centre should appoint a non-Telugu officer as CBI JD in Hyderabad, so that the massive corruption indulged in by Naidu during his regime could be unearthed,” he said.
First Tollywood producer to come in support of Amaravati
The protesting farmers and people of Amaravati have been asking and demanding the support of Telugu film industry in the capital row. But till date, only a few of them have come in support and that too because they are active in full-time politics and are inclined towards either TDP or YSRCP. Sarileru US Premieres: Enters Top 10 Premiere Grossers!
As expected, Mahesh Babu has shown his strength in the US. The US premieres of Sarileru Neekevvaru off to a great start. As per the latest reports, the film has grossed USD 759120 gross out of 291 locations. This is a huge opening in the recent times. With this, Sarileru Neekevvaru has entered into the Top 10 US premiere grossers of Telugu movies.
After Baahubali 2 (2450000 USD), Agnyathavasi (1522000 USD), Baahubali 1 ( 1365000 USD) and Khaidi No 150 (1296000 USD), Mahesh Babu’s Spyder got 1003000 USD from its premieres and stood at No. 5th position among Top 10 US premiere grossers of Telugu movies.

The much-awaited sports drama, titled 83, tells the epic and historic story of 1983 Cricket World Cup where the Indian Cricket team won the trophy after winning against West Indies. The film will have Ranveer Singh as the legendary cricketer Kapil Dev and the actor has recently shared the poster of his look as Kapil Dev on latter’s birthday.

Pawan at meeting; Jana Sena MLA watches bull-racing
The only MLA of Jana Sena Party, Rapaka Varaprasad is giving shocks after shocks to chief Pawan Kalyan. On Saturday, Pawan held an extensive meeting with party leaders to discuss about the action plan of protest regarding the AP capital row. However to this meeting, Rapaka was absent.
Instead the Razole MLA was with YSRCP minister Kodali Nani in Gudivada witnessing the bull racing. Speaking to the media from here, Rapaka said he never saw bull racing and so he was here to witness it. Advising the Amaravati farmers that nothing would yield from their protest, Rapaka said that the farmers should meet CM YS Jagan.
“The Three Capitals idea is a good one and instead of protesting, farmers should meet Jagan and listen to him what he has say on the ‘Three Capitals.’ This is my individual opinion, not of Jana Sena party’s. In fact neither the party nor the chief ask my opinion regarding anything. I have individuality,” added Rapaka.
This is not the first instance that Rapaka backing the ‘Three Capitals’ and in fact, he appreciated almost all the decisions of CM Jagan.
