Kamal Haasan Faces Backlash Over Sanatana Dharma Remarks

Share

Veteran actor Kamal Haasan has once again found himself at the center of a controversy — this time over remarks made at a recent public event that have drawn strong backlash from the Tamil Nadu BJP.

Speaking at an event hosted by actor Suriya’s Agaram Foundation, Kamal Haasan emphasized the transformative power of education, stating that it is the only tool capable of changing a nation and breaking what he referred to as the chains of dictatorship and Sanatana. These comments have sparked outrage in certain political and religious circles.

Following the event, Tamil Nadu BJP Secretary Amar Prasad Reddy shared a video clip of Kamal’s speech on social media, accusing the actor of making derogatory remarks about Sanatana Dharma. Reddy called on Hindus to boycott Kamal Haasan’s films, stating, “Let this be a message: Speak against Sanatana Dharma, and face the consequences.”

He also compared Kamal’s remarks to earlier statements made by Udhayanidhi Stalin, claiming that both leaders had shown disrespect toward Hindu beliefs. Reddy urged the public to boycott their films to express disapproval of such statements, which he said hurt the sentiments of millions of Hindus.

This isn’t the first time Kamal Haasan has stirred public debate. Just months ago, he faced criticism in Karnataka for his comments suggesting that the Kannada language originated from Tamil. In response, the Karnataka Film Chamber imposed a one-month ban on his film Thug Life.

As public reactions continue to pour in, Kamal Haasan’s statements have once again ignited discussions on freedom of speech, cultural sensitivity, and the fine line public figures walk when voicing personal beliefs in public forums.

Mrunal Thakur Eyes Comeback After Bollywood Setbacks

Share

After her impactful rise post-Super 30, many expected Mrunal Thakur to become the next big name in Indian cinema. While she has garnered a strong following in the South, particularly in Telugu cinema, her journey in Bollywood has been far less rewarding.

Mrunal made a strong debut in mainstream Hindi cinema with Super 30 opposite Hrithik Roshan in 2019. However, she has struggled to deliver a major hit since then. Films like Batla House, Toofaan, Selfiee, Gumraah, Aankh Micholi, Pippa, and now Son of Sardaar 2 have failed to strike a chord either critically or commercially.

The recently released SOS 2 has only added to her woes. Despite promotions and 50% ticket discounts, the film opened to a dull response, lacking both buzz and audience pull. Mrunal’s character too didn’t leave much impact, further disappointing her fans.

Even in Telugu cinema, her recent misstep with Family Star affected her momentum. However, there’s renewed hope with her upcoming film Dacoit, in which she stars alongside Adivi Sesh. The project is expected to be a potential game-changer for her, given Sesh’s knack for picking strong, content-driven films.

Adding to the buzz, industry insiders suggest that Mrunal may soon team up with Allu Arjun in a high-profile film directed by Atlee. If confirmed, this could mark a significant turnaround in her pan-India appeal and help re-establish her across both Hindi and South markets.

All eyes are now on how Dacoit and the Atlee project shape Mrunal Thakur’s next chapter.

Raja Saab 2 Confirmed: Prabhas Franchise Expands

Share

When it comes to Prabhas films, sequels are almost a tradition — with Kalki 2 and Salaar 2 already in development. Now, Raja Saab joins the list of expanding franchises. Directed by Maruthi, the film will officially have a second part, as confirmed by producer Vishwa Prasad.

“Raja Saab 2 is definitely happening,” the producer stated. “But it won’t be a direct continuation of Part 1. While it will retain the same theme and elements, it will tell a completely different story within the same universe.”

As for the first installment, production is nearing completion, with only a few songs left to shoot. The film is expected to be fully wrapped by the last week of October. However, the final release date remains undecided.

“There’s strong buzz for a Sankranti release,” revealed the producer. “While business circles are pushing for January 9, Hindi distributors are eyeing December 5 due to the absence of major North Indian releases at that time. We’ll finalize the date that works best overall.”

Interestingly, the initial rough cut of Raja Saab clocks in at over 4.5 hours. Director Maruthi is now in the editing phase, aiming to trim the runtime to around 2 hours and 45 minutes — or potentially up to 3 hours, depending on the final cut.

With Raja Saab entering the sequel territory, fans can expect more of Prabhas in this quirky, franchise-worthy setup.

Ravi Teja Plans Big 2026 Comeback

Share

With Mass Jathara slated for release later this month and the grand inauguration of his very own multiplex in Hyderabad, Ravi Teja is keeping the momentum going as he lines up his next cinematic ventures.

The star has already kickstarted work on his upcoming film with director Kishore Tirumala, best known for his emotionally charged family dramas. In a surprising shift, Ravi Teja will be portraying a calm, soft-spoken character — a stark contrast to his signature mass-action image.

But fans of his trademark high-octane style need not worry. Ravi Teja is also set to return to his action roots with another project, this time under the direction of the filmmaker behind the Kannada action hit Martin. This film promises to be a full-scale mass entertainer, designed to bring back the explosive energy audiences love him for.

Though the actor has ventured into diverse genres in recent years, consistent box office success has eluded him. Now, with a blend of emotional depth and action-packed storytelling on the horizon, Ravi Teja is eyeing a major comeback in 2026.

Ahaan Panday’s Explosive Debut Raises Superstar Expectations

Share

Ahaan Panday has taken Bollywood by storm with his explosive debut in Saiyaara — a film that not only shattered box office records but also won over critics with its gripping narrative and performances. For a newcomer, especially one without overwhelming pre-release hype, such a phenomenal opening is almost unheard of.

The industry is now abuzz with the question: Is this a one-time lightning strike, or the beginning of something bigger?

Drawing comparisons, many point to Hrithik Roshan’s iconic debut in Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai, which launched him into superstardom overnight through a blend of charisma, physique, and dance. Could Ahaan chart a similar trajectory — from romantic lead to A-list powerhouse?

Insiders believe that for Ahaan to maintain momentum, he may need to collaborate with visionary directors like Sandeep Reddy Vanga, who are known for shaping raw talent into box-office gold. A strategic next move could determine whether Saiyaara was just a lucky start or the launchpad for Bollywood’s next superstar.

Prabhas’ Spirit Faces Delay Amid Scheduling Conflicts

Share

Producer Pranay Reddy Vanga, brother of director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, recently revealed that the highly anticipated Prabhas-starrer Spirit was slated to begin filming in October, following the completion of Prabhas’ ongoing film The Raja Saab.

Despite the ongoing cine workers’ strike, Prabhas has been relentlessly working to wrap up The Raja Saab. However, fresh industry buzz now suggests that Spirit may not commence as scheduled in October.

Sources indicate that scheduling conflicts, particularly due to the unavailability of key cast members’ call sheets, are causing unexpected delays. Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga had originally planned to kick off the shoot with scenes featuring Prabhas and a prominent Bollywood star, but the latter’s dates are yet to be confirmed.

As a result, the official launch date of Spirit remains uncertain and is now dependent on the Bollywood actor’s availability. Given the current pace and challenges, there is growing speculation that Vanga may remain occupied with Spirit well into 2027, which could, in turn, delay the sequel to Animal with Ranbir Kapoor, initially expected to go on floors next year.

SRK, Allu Arjun & Prashanth Neel in Talks for Pan-India Action Spectacle

Share

In what could be one of the biggest cinematic collaborations in Indian film history, a strong buzz from the Sandalwood industry reveals that Hombale Films is gearing up for a massive pan-India action spectacle featuring none other than Bollywood’s King Shah Rukh Khan, South India’s Iconic Star Allu Arjun, and action maverick director Prashanth Neel, known for KGF and Salaar.

Sources from the southern film circuit suggest that the prestigious production house is in advanced talks with both superstars for a high-octane film that aims to seamlessly blend the flavors of North and South Indian cinema.

With Prashanth Neel at the helm—renowned for redefining action storytelling with his gritty, stylized vision—the expectations are sky-high. If greenlit, this project could very well set new benchmarks in Indian cinema and dominate the box office like never before.

Although an official announcement is yet to be made, just the speculation surrounding this iconic collaboration has set social media and fan communities abuzz with excitement.

Meanwhile, Allu Arjun is currently engrossed in his next magnum opus being directed by Atlee, adding even more intrigue to his already packed schedule.

Nagarjuna 2.0: The Rise of the King as a Villain

Share

In his four-decade-long cinematic journey, Akkineni Nagarjuna has entertained audiences predominantly as a leading man. With his unique charm and versatility, he has carved a special place for himself in Telugu cinema, proudly carrying forward the legacy of his father, Akkineni Nageswara Rao (ANR).

Even after crossing 60, age remains just a number for Nagarjuna. He continues to exude youthful charisma, earning him the title of the “Modern Manmadhudu.” Few actors can sustain such an aura across generations, and Nagarjuna stands tall among them.

Be it solo films or multistarrers, the King is always game. He even shares screen space with his sons, proving that he’s as much a team player as he is a star. Recently, Nagarjuna took an interesting turn in his career with Kubera, where he portrayed an ED officer — a character with shades of grey. While the role starts off with a tinge of negativity, director Sekhar Kammula rounds it off with a redemptive arc in the climax. Still, Kubera marks the first time a director brought out this darker side of Nagarjuna on screen.

Now, all eyes are on Coolie, where Nagarjuna plays the powerful antagonist Simon. Even though Superstar Rajinikanth headlines the film, it’s the villain Simon who’s creating all the buzz. Reportedly, even Rajini expressed that Simon’s role is so impactful, he wouldn’t have minded playing it himself — a testament to the strength of the character.

Naturally, expectations are sky-high. Fans are eager to see how Nagarjuna embodies Simon and what kind of performance he delivers. Industry whispers suggest that his role will be on par with Rajini’s, and if Coolie turns out to be a blockbuster, it could catapult Nagarjuna into a whole new phase — a “King 2.0,” if you will.

In this changing landscape of Telugu cinema, Nagarjuna is clearly not slowing down. With pan-Indian opportunities expanding, he’s perfectly poised to make bold choices and deliver power-packed performances — both as a hero and a villain. The question now is: What’s cooking in the King’s mind next?

Nithiin Gears Up for High-Budget Comeback with Vikram Kumar

Share

After delivering a major disaster with Thammudu, actor Nithiin is currently going through a dull phase in his career. Post the success of A..Aa, none of his recent films, barring Bheeshma, managed to make a mark at the box office. Films like Check, Rang De, Maestro, Macherla Niyojakavargam, Extra Ordinary Man, and Robinhood all failed to impress.

Even collaborations with reputed directors haven’t helped Nithiin bounce back. However, the actor now has two crucial projects in the pipeline that could potentially revive his career. One of them is titled Ellamma, directed by Balagam fame Venu Yeldandi, and the other is a film with Vikram K. Kumar, who earlier delivered a blockbuster with Nithiin in the form of Ishq.

Following the failure of Thammudu, buzz is that Ellamma might be put on the back burner, with the Vikram K. Kumar project likely to go on floors next. Given the success of Ishq, expectations are naturally high for this reunion. This upcoming film is said to be a sports drama, with Nithiin portraying a horse rider in a never-before-seen avatar.

Adding to the excitement, the film is reportedly being made on a massive budget — the biggest in Nithiin’s career so far. Despite a string of flops, the producers seem confident about the story and are not compromising on the scale or quality. The film’s shoot is expected to begin soon, with a 2026 theatrical release being targeted. Interestingly, the makers are also considering “Swaari” as the film’s title, and an official announcement is likely to be made shortly.

*“Yegareyi Nee Rekkale”: A Soulful Anthem from Paradha

Share

Paradha, starring Anupama Parameswaran, Darshana Rajendran, and Sangita, has created a strong buzz with each of its promotional drops. The teaser and trailer especially stood out, with Anupama’s powerful performance drawing significant attention. Now, the team has unveiled a new gem — the song “Yegareyi Nee Rekkale” — further raising anticipation for the film.

Composed by Gopi Sundar, the song beautifully blends melody with meaning. Lyricist Vanamali’s words reflect the soul of the film — questioning societal boundaries and celebrating a woman’s freedom to explore the world beyond imposed limits. Gopi Sundar’s arrangement enhances the emotional depth of the lyrics, making the message all the more resonant.

The song is elevated by the heartfelt vocals of Ritesh G Rao, adding layers of emotion and texture. Meanwhile, behind-the-scenes glimpses show the cast and crew — especially Anupama and Darshana — navigating the harsh, breathtaking terrains of the Himalayas, showcasing their dedication and passion for storytelling. Their charming presence and innocent smiles bring a natural warmth to the screen.

Directed by Praveen Kandregula, Paradha is shaping up to be a visually stunning travel film with a strong message. Releasing on 22nd August, the film is produced by Vijay Donkada, Sreenivasulu PV, and Sridhar Makkuva, who have ensured high production values without compromise at any stage.
